• Statistics of IMAP vs POP vs Exchange ?

  Hello, I'm desperately looking for some statistics about usage of POP versus IMAP versus Exchange-MAPI, especially in professional context. I know IMAP is used for accessing mails from mobile devices with limited bandwidth, whereas POP is the good old standard, and Exchange is more business-oriented. Does someone know the approximate percentage of usage of each protocol ? Thanks !

  So i need to figure out how i can get a record count value and use that count as a new value to insert into a table. Ex: In My Stored Procedure @Count int What im looking for @Count to equal "select top (1) _fieldName from _someTable order by _fieldName Desc" Finally insert into _newTable (_fieldName) values (@Count) End I dont have to use a variable, just trying to demonstrate what im really trying to do.   Hi, I need to define an appender for log4net in a way that I get one log file for each day, but the total number of files are limited to, let's say, 30. That is I want to keep only the logs not older then 30 days, delete the older ones. I've tried doing it with RollingFileAppender, but it seems that specifying a limit of files to keep is not supported. Do you know of an alternative solution that I could use?

  What is a good way to represent a collection of bits? I have a set of various on/off toggles (thousands of them) and need to store and retrieve their state. The naïve implementation would be an array of booleans, but I'm wondering if there's a better way (better in terms of access speed and/or memory requirements). I've found this BitArray implementation, but it's limited to 32 bits, which is not enough for this case.

  I have a table t with a column c, which is an int and has a btree index on it. Why does the following query not utilize this index? explain select c from t group by c; The result I get is: HashAggregate (cost=1005817.55..1005817.71 rows=16 width=4) -> Seq Scan on t (cost=0.00..946059.84 rows=23903084 width=4) My understanding of indexes is limited, but I thought such queries were the purpose of indexes.

  So, I realize that const T& and T const& are identical and both mean a reference to a const T. In both cases, the reference is also constant (references cannot be reassigned, unlike pointers). I've observed, in my somewhat limited experience, that most C++ programmers use const T&, but I have come across a few people who use T const&. Is this just a personal preference? Why is one chosen over the other?

  I have created NPAPI plugin, which is workig fine on linux where I have created the .so file but when I deployed this plugin on our production device where we have linux environment with limited resources(due to performance constraints) , following error is thrown '/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/npPluginTest.so' is not an ELF executable for sh FYI:so file created on 32bit linux box. how can I resolve this issue?
