  • Need help fetching an array using prepared statments

    - by eldan221
I have wrote the following code to fetch a string. But for some reason its only returning 1. I have doubled checked everything and it seems like its correct. I am not sure why its only returning 1? Any help here would be really appreciated! //Class Defined here function MenuCat($id){ $query = "SELECT menu_category_description FROM menu_categories WHERE id = ?"; $stmt = $this->db->prepare($query); $stmt->bind_param("i", $id); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->bind_result($menu_category_description); $row = $stmt->fetch(); return $row; } $display_category = $cat_des->MenuCat($id); echo $display_category

  • How to use prepared statements (named parameters) on a php Class

    - by Mohamed Adib Errifai
This is my first post here. I've searched in the site, but inforutunaly no matchs. Anyway, i want to know how to use named parameters on a class. so the pdo basic form is something like. $query = $bdd->prepare('SELECT * FROM table WHERE login = :login AND pww = :pww'); $query->execute(array('login' => $login, 'pww' => $pww)); and i want to integrate this on a class regardless of the number of parameters. Currently, i have this code http://pastebin.com/kKgSkaKt and for parameters, i use somethings like ( which is wrong and vulnerable to injection ) require_once 'classes/Mysql.class.php'; $mysql = new Mysql(); $sql = 'SELECT * FROM articles WHERE id = '.$_GET['id'].' LIMIT 1'; $data = $mysql->select($sql); And Thanks.

  • Help me refactor this nasty Ruby if/else statement

    - by Suborx
Hello, so I have this big method in my application for newsletter distribution. Method is for updating rayons and I need to assign a user to rayon. I have relation n:n through table colporteur_in_rayons which has attributes since_date and until_date. I am a junior programmer and I know this code is pretty dummy :) I appreciate every suggestion. def update rayon = Rayon.find(params[:id]) if rayon.update_attributes(params[:rayon]) if params[:user_id] != "" unless rayon.users.empty? unless rayon.users.last.id.eql?(params[:user_id]) rayon.colporteur_in_rayons.last.update_attributes(:until_date => Time.now) Rayon.assign_user(rayon.id,params[:user_id]) flash[:success] = "Rayon #{rayon.name} has been succesuly assigned to #{rayon.actual_user.name}." return redirect_to rayons_path end else Rayon.assign_user(rayon.id,params[:user_id]) flash[:success] = "Rayon #{rayon.name} has been successfully assigned to #{rayon.actual_user.name}." return redirect_to rayons_path end end flash[:success] = "Rayon has been successfully updated." return redirect_to rayons_path else flash[:error] = "Rayon has not been updated." return redirect_to :back end end

  • Trying to create fields based on a case statement

    - by dido
    I'm having some trouble with the query below. I am trying to determine if the "category" field is A, B or C and then creating a field based on the category. That field would sum up payments field. But I'm running into error saying "incorrect syntax near keyword As". I am creating this in a SQL View. Using SQL Server 2008 SELECT r.id, r.category CASE WHEN r.category = 'A' then SUM(r.payment) As A_payments WHEN r.category = 'B' then SUM(r.payment) As B_payments WHEN r.category = 'C' then SUM(r.payment) As C_payments END FROM r_invoiceTable As r GROUP BY r.id, r.category I have data where all of the above cases should be executed because the data that I have has A,B and C Sample Data- r_invoiceTable Id --- Category ---- Payment 222 A ---- 50 444 A ---- 30 111 B ---- 90 777 C ---- 20 555 C ---- 40 Desired Output A_payments = 80, B_payments = 90, C_payments = 60

  • If statement String trouble

    - by Jeremy Stone
    I'm trying to create a program which takes user input of two words and determines whether or not these words are the same. import java.util.Scanner; public class L7E3 { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System. in ); String word1, word2; System.out.println("Please enter a word: "); word1 = keyboard.nextLine(); System.out.println("Please enter a word: "); word2 = keyboard.nextLine(); if (word1 == word2) { System.out.println("The words are " + word1 + " and " + word2 + ". These words are the same."); } else { System.out.println("The words are " + word1 + " and " + word2 + ". These words are not the same."); } } } I figured that word1==word2 would have worked to determine whether the two strings were equal, I'm using JGrasp and it goes directly to my else option regardless of input. Am I doing something wrong with strings?

I express the relationship between records and searchtags that can be attached to records like so: TABLE RECORDS id name TABLE SEARCHTAGS id recordid name I want to be able to SELECT records based on the searchtags that they have. For example, I want to be able to SELECT all records that have searchtags: (1 OR 2 OR 5) AND (6 OR 7) AND (10) Using the above data structure, I am uncertain how to structure the SQL to accomplish this. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • PreparedStatement and setTimestamp in oracle jdbc

    - by Roman
Hi everyone, I am using PreparedStatement with Timestamp in where clause: PreparedStatement s=c.prepareStatement("select utctimestamp from t where utctimestamp>=? and utctimestamp<?"); s.setTimestamp(1, new Timestamp(1273017600000L)); //2010-05-05 00:00 GMT s.setTimestamp(2, new Timestamp(1273104000000L)); //2010-05-06 00:00 GMT The result I get is different, when I have different time zones on the client computer. Is this a bug in Oracle jdbc? or correct behavior? The parameter is Timestamp, and I expected that no time conversions will be done on the way. The database column type is DATE, but I also checked it with TIMESTAMP column type with the same results. Is there a way to achieve correct result? I cannot change default timezone in the the whole application to UTC. Thanks for your help

  • MySQL- complex data query in a single statement

    - by yoda
Hi, Consider the following structure : Ignore the table user_token. Now, imagine that you need to get all the roles related to an user, wich may be through it's related groups or directly related to him. In case the same role appears related to a group and the user directly, the role related to the user will prevail over the role given by the group. Is there any chance this could be done in a single query? Cheers!

  • rails belongs_to sql statement using NULL id

    - by Team Pannous
When paginating through our Phrase table it takes very long to return the results. In the sql logs we see many sql requests which don't make sense to us: Phrase Load (7.4ms) SELECT "phrases".* FROM "phrases" WHERE "phrases"."id" IS NULL LIMIT 1 User Load (0.4ms) SELECT "users".* FROM "users" WHERE "users"."id" IS NULL LIMIT 1 These add up significantly. Is there a way to prevent querying against null ids? This is the underlying model: class Phrase < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :response, :class_name => "Phrase", :foreign_key => "next_id" end

  • MySQL Prepared Statements vs Stored Procedures Performance

    - by amardilo
Hi there, I have an old MySQL 4.1 database with a table that has a few millions rows and an old Java application that connects to this database and returns several thousand rows from this this table on a frequent basis via a simple SQL query (i.e. SELECT * FROM people WHERE first_name = 'Bob'. I think the Java application uses client side prepared statements but was looking at switching this to the server, and in the example mentioned the value for first_name will vary depending on what the user enters). I would like to speed up performance on the select query and was wondering if I should switch to Prepared Statements or Stored Procedures. Is there a general rule of thumb of what is quicker/less resource intensive (or if a combination of both is better)

  • Check the cumulative status of onLoadInit in a for statement

    - by jonobr1
In a setup like this is it possible to check the cumulative status of all onLoadInit? for(var i:Number = 0; i < limit; i++) { var mcLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader(); var mclListener:Object = new Object(); mclListener.onLoadInit = function(mc:MovieClip) { trace(i + " is finished loading!"); } mcLoader.addListener(mclListener); mcLoader.loadClip(some_image_path, someMovieClip); } Initially I was thinking that I could pass an array of Boolean's, but I'm not really sure where to add that checkpoint, because a flash frame doesn't keep looping. Would I have to add it to an onEnterFrame()?

  • Caching result of SELECT statement for reuse in multiple queries

    - by Andrew
I have a reasonably complex query to extract the Id field of the results I am interested in based on parameters entered by the user. After extracting the relevant Ids I am using the resulting set of Ids several times, in separate queries, to extract the actual output record sets I want (by joining to other tables, using aggregate functions, etc). I would like to avoid running the initial query separately for every set of results I want to return. I imagine my situation is a common pattern so I am interested in what the best approach is. The database is in MS SQL Server and I am using .NET 3.5.

  • switch statement with returns -- code correctness

    - by houbysoft
Hi, let's say I have code in C with approximately this structure: switch (something) { case 0: return "blah"; break; case 1: case 4: return "foo"; break; case 2: case 3: return "bar"; break; default: return "foobar"; break; } Now obviously, the "break"s are not necessary for the code to run correctly, but it sort of looks like bad practice if I don't put them there to me. What do you think? Is it fine to remove them? Or would you keep them for increased "correctness"?
