  • No expires header

    - by Tom Gullen
    I have the report from YSlow: (no expires) http://static3.scirra.net/avatars/128/40cfdcbd1b1ec1842e199c97c4b85a4a.png (And a lot more similar). In my web.config though, I have: <system.webServer> <staticContent> <clientCache httpExpires="Sun, 29 Mar 2020 00:00:00 GMT" cacheControlMode="UseExpires" /> </staticContent> <caching> <profiles> <add extension=".ashx" policy="CacheForTimePeriod" kernelCachePolicy="DontCache" duration="01:00:00" /> <add extension=".png" policy="CacheUntilChange" kernelCachePolicy="CacheUntilChange" location="Any" /> </profiles> </caching> <rewrite> <rules> <rule name="Avatar"> <match url="avatars/([0-9]+)/(.*).png" /> <action type="Rewrite" url="gravatar.ashx?hash={R:2}&amp;size={R:1}" appendQueryString="false" /> </rule> </rules> </rewrite> Should this not be adding the expires header correctly? My objectives are: Gravatar.ashx fetches image from Gravatar server Server caches result for 1 hour (similar to SO) Expires header is added so client doesn't keep fetching it from my server

  • PIL saves image colour wrong

    - by Tom Viner
    I have an image. I want to resize it using PIL, but it come out like this. Even without a resize it still messes up the colour. Minimal code: from PIL import Image import os import urllib import webbrowser orig_url = 'http://mercedesclub.org.uk/images/stackoverflow-question/least-popular-colours-_-500-x-500.jpg' temp_fn, _ = urllib.urlretrieve(orig_url) im = Image.open(temp_fn) fn = os.tempnam() + '.jpg' im.save(fn) webbrowser.open(fn) I've tried Image.open(temp_fn).convert(format) with 'RGB', 'CMYK' and 'L' as formats, but still get weirdly coloured or grey results. When I load the image from my hard drive and I can see: >>>im.info {'adobe': 100, 'progression': 1, 'exif': 'Exif\x00\x00MM\x00*...\x7f\xff\xd9', 'adobe_transform': 100} >>>im.format 'JPEG' >>>im.mode 'CMYK' >>> im._getexif() {40961: 65535, 40962: 500, 40963: 500, 296: 2, 34665: 164, 274: 1, 305: 'Adobe Photoshop CS Macintosh', 306: '2010:02:26 12:46:54', 282: (300, 1), 283: (300, 1)} Thanks and let me know if you need any more data.

  • In search of opinions on web based version control systems

    - by tom smith
    Hi. Researching various open source, web-based document management/version control systems. I've checked google/questions here, etc... I'm looking for a lightweight web-based (apache) document mgmt/version control app that runs on top of SVN. I need to have the ability to: have multiple users checkin/checkout have a workflow (when userA checks the file in, and finishes the app passes it to the next person, etc... the app needs to allow me to have a structure where the files can be moved as a group. the files will be changed on a monthly basis app needs to have a access/premission control system. some people can see certain files, and perform certain actions on the files I imagine that I'm going to have 40-50 people dealing with the different files. I imagine that I'm going to have 2000-3000 files that have to be massaged. I'd prefer that the app be php based if possible, as opposed to a straight java app. Thanks

  • Convert Existing Eclipse Project to Maven Project

    - by Tom G
    For a project at work, we're considering using the Maven plugin for Eclipse to automate our builds. Right now the procedure is far more complicated than it ought to be, and we're hoping that Maven will simplify things to a one-click build. My question is, is there a wizard or automatic importer for converting an existing Eclipse Java project to a Maven project, using the Maven plugin? Or should I create a new Maven project and manually copy over all source files, libs, etc.

  • Symfony: Weird routing issue

    - by Tom
    Hi, I've got following URL in symfony (specifics not important): /frontend_dev.php/something/25/apple ... and a routing rule: /something/:id/:word The URL works fine when clicked through to on the site, but not when I type in the URL. Instead, symfony says: Unable to find a matching route to generate url for params "NULL". The weird thing is that I can navigate to this page and it works, but when hitting Enter in the browser address bar, it no longer finds it. Any thoughts on what might be the cause of something like this generally? I should also add that the URL was working fine when typed in the address bar earlier, but doesn't anymore, and I'm not sure what's there that might be interfering with it. Thanks in advance.

  • Java Node.cloneNode()

    - by Tom Brito
    Talking about the org.w3c.dom package; When I call Node.cloneNode() method from a Element(extends Node) object, which Document is used to create the new cloned Element? Example: import org.w3c.dom; class MyClass { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { DocumentBuilder builder = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = builder.newDocument(); Element element = doc.createElement("myElement"); Element cloneElement = (Element) element.cloneNode(true); } } Which Document was used to create cloneElement?

    - by Tom Brito
    I'm studying security, and I would like to know: in Windows or Unix based OS environment, is there a way for a malicious program to copy all the content of the computer's memory? My worry is about a program that can get my decrypted data loaded in memory. And how to avoid it.

  • Is there a version of the .Net Redistributable bundled with all supported versions of Windows?

    - by Tom the Junglist
    Hi there, Is there a specific version of .Net that I can target that is bundled with all versions of Windows of XP SP2 and higher? We are trying to create a simple setup stub without having to resort to a low-level C/C++ app... currently something is cooked up in VB6, but there's a fair amount of low-level network code that I would much rather rewrite in .Net -- which would be trivial if only we could rely on the presence of a given version.

  • Monitor Network Traffic Mac

    - by Tom Irving
    I'm wondering how to go about monitoring network traffic on my Mac. Like the way activity monitor does it, showing the bytes / packets in and out. I know it's a bit vague, but I'm unsure of the best place to start.

  • Is there a simpler way to convert a byte array to a 2-byte-size hexadecimal string?

    - by Tom Brito
    Is there a simpler way of implement this? Or a implemented method in JDK or other lib? /** * Convert a byte array to 2-byte-size hexadecimal String. */ public static String to2DigitsHex(byte[] bytes) { String hexData = ""; for (int i = 0; i < bytes.length; i++) { int intV = bytes[i] & 0xFF; // positive int String hexV = Integer.toHexString(intV); if (hexV.length() < 2) { hexV = "0" + hexV; } hexData += hexV; } return hexData; } public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(to2DigitsHex(new byte[] {8, 10, 12})); } the output is: "08 0A 0C" (without the spaces)

  • Change SVN Path Entirely

    - by Tom
    Hi Guys, We have an SVN at http:/XX.XXX.XXX.XXX:1111/svn/AB/ - and the first two folders of the SVN are like http:/XX.XXX.XXX.XXX:1111/svn/AB/abc/filefolder/ The problem is we want to move the entire svn to get rid of /abc/filefolder/ - as the entire project sits under /abc/filefolder/ [created long ago and never bothered to change] (que stupid yes yes) How would we could about fixing this so we dont loose logs etc ? We dont want to have to export and create a new svn - since then we loose all our log files. But we want to "move" the svn root so for example it becomes From: http:/XX.XXX.XXX.XXX:1111/svn/AB/abc/filefolder/documents/ To: http:/XX.XXX.XXX.XXX:1111/svn/AB/documents/ Any help appreciated ? [ps - yes had to remove http:// due to link restriction]

  • IE8 isn't resizing tbody or thead when a column is hidden in a table with table-layout:fixed

    - by tom
    IE 8 is doing something very strange when I hide a column in a table with table-layout:fixed. The column is hidden, the table element stays the same width, but the tbody and thead elements are not resized to fill the remaining width. It works in IE7 mode (and FF, Chrome, etc. of course). Has anyone seen this before or know of a workaround? Here is my test page - toggle the first column and use the dev console to check out the table, tbody and thead width: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>bug</title> <style type="text/css"> table { table-layout:fixed; width:100%; border-collapse:collapse; } td, th { border:1px solid #000; } </style> </head> <body> <table> <thead> <tr> <th id="target1">1</th> <th>2</th> <th>3</th> <th>4</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td id="target2">1</td> <td>2</td> <td>3</td> <td>4</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <a href="#" id="toggle">toggle first column</a> <script type="text/javascript"> function toggleFirstColumn() { if (document.getElementById('target1').style.display=='' || document.getElementById('target1').style.display=='table-cell') { document.getElementById('target1').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('target2').style.display='none'; } else { document.getElementById('target1').style.display='table-cell'; document.getElementById('target2').style.display='table-cell'; } } document.getElementById('toggle').onclick = function(){ toggleFirstColumn(); return false; }; </script> </body> </html>

  • Finding the left-most and right-most points of a list. std::find_if the right way to go?

    - by Tom
    Hi, I have a list of Point objects, (each one with x,y properties) and would like to find the left-most and right-most points. I've been trying to do it with find_if, but i'm not sure its the way to go, because i can't seem to pass a comparator instance. Is find_if the way to go? Seems not. So, is there an algorithm in <algorithm> to achieve this? Thanks in advance. #include <iostream> #include <list> #include <algorithm> using namespace std; typedef struct Point{ float x; float y; } Point; bool left(Point& p1,Point& p2) { return p1.x < p2.x; } int main(){ Point p1 ={-1,0}; Point p2 ={1,0}; Point p3 ={5,0}; Point p4 ={7,0}; list <Point> points; points.push_back(p1); points.push_back(p2); points.push_back(p3); points.push_back(p4); //Should return an interator to p1. find_if(points.begin(),points.end(),left); return 0; }

  • Exactly clone an object in javascript

    - by Tom
    Hi, I tried to exactly clone an object in javascript. I know the following solution using jquery: var newObject = jQuery.extend({}, oldObject); // Or var newObject = jQuery.extend(true, {}, oldObject); but the problem with that is, that the objects type gets lost: var MyClass = function(param1, param2) { alert(param1.a + param2.a); }; var myObj = new MyClass({a: 1},{a: 2}); var myObjClone = jQuery.extend(true, {}, myObj); alert(myObj instanceof MyClass); // => true alert(myObjClone instanceof MyClass); // => false Is there any solution to get true on the second alert?

  • Use a "User Macro" in .vcproj RelativePath

    - by Tom Leys
    Inside .vcproj files There is a list of all source files in your project. How can we use a macro to specify the path to a source file? If we do this: <File RelativePath="$(Lib3rdParty)\Qt\qtwinmigrate-2.5-commercial\src\qmfcapp.cpp"> </File> The compiler cannot find the folder: qmfcapp.cpp c1xx : fatal error C1083: Cannot open source file: '.\$(lib3rdparty)\qt\qtwinmigrate- 2.5-commercial\src\qmfcapp.cpp': No such file or directory As you can see, our project compiles in several source files from QT. QT lives inside a folder of external libraries, and we don't want hardcode the path from our project to that folder (we have a very large solution)

  • Using images and css file for a generated HTML UIWebView

    - by Tom
    Hi! I'm generating an HTML file for an app, and in this HTML file there's a link to a stylesheet and one to an image. Here's what I tried so far: NSMutableString *toReturn = [NSMutableString stringWithCapacity:100]; NSString *cssPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"etapes.css" ofType:nil]; [toReturn appendFormat:@"<html><head><title></title><link href=\"%@\" media=\"all\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" /></head><body>", cssPath]; It generates the right full path to the right file, this is okay if I want to access it on my mac, but on the simulator or my iPhone it doesn't point to the right place at all... Do you have any idea of how could I make this? Thanks
