Do you know of any good doc on Excel PivotTables object model ?
I have read "Excel 2007 Programmers reference", googled a bit, and found small bits here and there, but nothing global, coherent and complete.
Preferably for version < 2007, so I keep upwards compatibility when developing.
Thanks !
I'm writing a Direct3D application, using DirectX 9. Although it works on my PC, I need to make it work on a wide range of systems. I need to know what capabilities I can expect to see on other systems. Is there a list of the DirectX capabilities that graphics cards support?
I've found one site, which I'll post as an answer, but it's a bit out of date.
You see a fair bit (in the Geek community anyway) about OpenID. It seems like a good idea. I'm developing a website that will be targeted at a somewhat less geeky audience (but not quite Mom and Pops either) so I have to wonder if OpenID is going to be "too hard" for some audiences.
What do you think? That aside, are there any other technical or non-technical reasons NOT to use OpenID?
I'm a bit surprised I haven't found a good open source library for performing common network tasks. There are a few very good commercial libraries, but they're too expensive to use on an open source project.
Anyone know of any?
I'm preparing a short talk for a conference in august and I'm looking for open source projects that are using agile methods internally or have tried them in the past.
My goal is to talk about the things that work well and what won't work and promote the agile methods a little bit, because I think certain agile techniques are a good fit, but don't seem to be that common in real development.
So does anyone know projects that have tried agile methods and techniques before? I'd like to contact them for a few questions.
I am running CentOS 5.5 x86_64 with JDK 1.6, Eclipse Galileo, and the 0.9.7 ADT is installed; however, after installation, the Android project type is not available. I have checked in the installed packages list and it is installed. Anybody encounter this problem before? Could it be due to my use of the 64-bit java VM that is installed on my system?
Im using the answer to this question to convert an array of XML to a single XML output:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2554671/output-array-of-xml-to-plain-xml
Im using the simpler solution of the two there (Marked as the answer)
It all works for me, however at the start of the output I get:
string(109960) "
Can anyone shed any light on this? Output here: http://bit.ly/aoA3qY
I'm wondering specifically what experienced programmers thought when they started developing in Python. I'm sure the answer depends on your background, but my own personal answer is the conversion of basically anything in the language to a True/False value in boolean contexts.
Resulting in "oddities" like:
if x:
not meaning the same thing as:
if x == True:
I understand why, but it bugs me, and I certainly had to think about it a bit when I first ran into it.
I am trying to do the following in a bit of python code:
class Parent:
class Child(Parent):
pass
And it does not work. Is there any python syntax I can use to achieve the same result?
Thanks.
Maybe it's just too late for me to do this, but I'm trying to replace a character between 2 string with regex in PHP.
Example string:
other | text [tag]text|more text|and more[/tag] end | text
My goal is to replace | with <br/> between [tag] and [/tag].
Tried with this, seems it wasn't that easy though:
/<td>(\|)<td>/gsi
Searched a bit, but couldn't make out an answer with the stuff I found.
Hope you can help, thanks
I am working on a program that automates tasks in a browser like entering text, clicking, etc and right now everything is working fine when using the Web Browser tool in Visual Studio 2010.
What I'd like to know is how should I approach converting all of this so I can use send requests instead of the browser? I heard its a lot more efficient and a lot better if you are going to be using multi threading but I have so much code that already works now and am not sure how I should do this without scraping quite a bit of it.
I'm using a library which has both a C interface and a C++ interface in my C++ program. The C++ one is a bit immature and I must stick with the C one. I was wondering, in more general terms, is there anything specific to keep in mind when mixing C-style binary object files with a C++ project?
Is there a way to speed up PostgreSQL's createdb command?
Normally I wouldn't care, but doing unit testing in Django creates a database every time, and it takes about 5 seconds.
I'm using openSUSE 11.2 64-bit, PostgreSQL 8.4.2
Does anyone see server-side JavaScript taking off? There are a couple of implementations out there, but it all seems to be a bit of a stretch (as in, "doing it BECAUSE WE CAN" type of attitude).
I'm curious to know if anyone actually writes JavaScript for the server-side and what their experiences with it have been to date.
Also, which implementation is generally seen as the most stable?
I need to resize images and resample them so they don't end up all jagged (I think that's called aliasing).
I found some code (sorry, lost the link) that does this in pure VB6 code but it's a bit slow (2-5 seconds) and I'm displaying pictures in real time so I need something faster.
I seem to recall seeing some examples of doing this with the GDI+ library. An example in VB6 would be ideal, but I can probably work with a simple example with Windows API calls in another language.
I need to write a program in 8086 Assembly that receives data from the user, does some mathematical calculations and prints the answer on the screen, I have written all parts of the program and all work fine but I don't know how to print the number to the screen.
At the end of all my calculation the answer is AX and it is treated as an unsigned 16 bit integer. How do I print the decimal (unsigned) value of the AX register?
Hi everyone!
I've recently got interested in Linux network programming and read quite a bit (Beej's Guide to Network Programming). But now I'm confused. I would like to write something to have some practice, but I don't know what exactly. Could please recommend me a couple of projects to start with?
Thanks.
Looking for built in encryption functions, not to hide the string from the clever programmer, but instead just to obfuscate it a bit. Looking for functions such as str_rot13 and base64_encode, but I can't seem to locate any. Surely there are more?
I'm creating a reporting application, and our customers are going to need to generate some pretty big reports which require quite a bit of memory. Ive been in a re-factoring mood lately, so I was wondering what the best way to access the properties of another open form would be(The reporting viewer opens in a new form.) So far I have:
Dim form As MainSelections
form = My.Application.OpenForms(2)
yay or nay.
Thanks
I’m currently working on this theme : http://tf.ffffffive.com/fancy/
I just need a few pointers on how to get it working in IE6 and IE7 .
-The positioning is a bit off.
-If you guys have a helpful blog post of maybe give me a hand with some CSS coding I would really appreciate it.
Also the Javascript scrolling effect isn't working correctly due to the positioning. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks, Henry
Yes, I know, most of you are thinking I'm an idiot, butt (kidding) I'm not. I've been searching everywhere for something on how to fully make a navigation-based iphone app, but all I've found is how to set up table views or navigation controllers. I haven't found anything on how to create a data model (something simple from arrays and dictionaries, SQLite and CoreData are a bit out of my scope) or navigate it. Does anyone know of any tutorials or anything like that? Thanks.
I am starting Android development. Which of the many Eclipse downloads do I need from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ ?
I am only ever going to do Android dev with Eclipse ever.
Platform: MAC 64 bit Snowleopard
I would like to import my Last.fm library into Grooveshark programatically, to make transitioning to it a bit easier. However, I haven't been able to find any kind of API which would make this possible. Has anyone heard of one?
Hi, We plan to host our website on a linux server. The site is created using java based technologies and will run on multiple instances of tomcat with apache in the front. I want to go in for a 64 bit linux OS so that I can install 64bit jvm. So my options are :
Ubuntu
Fedora
CentOS
which one (and which version) would be the most stable?
