  • How do I get a Java to call data from the Internet? Where to even start??

    - by cdg
    Hello oh great wizards of all things android. I really need your help. Mostly because my little brain just doesn't know were to start. I am trying to pull data from the internet to make a widget for the home screen. I have the layout built: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/Layout" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:background="@drawable/widget_bg_normal" android:clipChildren="false" > <TextView android:id="@+id/text_view" android:layout_width="100px" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:paddingTop="18px" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:textSize="8px" android:text="158x154 Image downloaded from the internet goes here. Needs to be updated every evening at midnight or unless the button below is pressed. Now if I could only figure out exactly how to do this, life would be good." /> <Button android:id="@+id/new_button" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Get New" android:layout_below="@+id/scroll_image" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:padding="0px" android:textSize="10px" android:height="8px" android:includeFontPadding="false" /> </RelativeLayout> Got the provider xml bulit: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <appwidget-provider xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:minWidth="150dip" android:minHeight="150dip" android:updatePeriodMillis="10000" android:initialLayout="@layout/widget" /> The Manifest works great. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.dge.myandroid" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <activity android:name=".myactivty" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <!-- Widget --> <receiver android:name=".mywidget" android:label="@string/app_name" > <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE" /> </intent-filter> <meta-data android:name="android.appwidget.widgetprovider" android:resource="@xml/widgetprovider" /> </receiver> <!-- Widget End --> </application> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> </manifest> The data it is calling looks something like this when it is called. It basically goes to a website that uses php to random the image: <html><body bgcolor="#000000">center> <a href="http://www.website.com" target="_blank"> <img border="0" src="http://www.webiste.com//0.gif"></a> <img src="http://www.webiste.com" style="border:none;" /> </center></body></html> But here is were I am stuck. I just don't know where to start at all. The java is so far beyond my little head that I don't know what to do. package com.dge.myandroid; import android.appwidget.AppWidgetProvider; public class mywidget extends AppWidgetProvider { } The wiki example just confused me more. I just don't know where to begin. Please help.

  • Hibernate bit array to entity mapping

    - by teabot
    I am trying to map a normalized Java model to a legacy database schema using Hibernate 3.5. One particular table encodes a foreign keys in a one-to-many relationship as a bit array column. Consider tables 'person' and 'clubs' that describes people's affiliations to clubs: person .----.------. club: .----.---------.---------------------------. | id | name | | id | name | members | binary(members) | |----+------| |----+---------|---------+-----------------| | 1 | Bob | | 10 | Cricket | 0 | 000 | | 2 | Joe | | 11 | Tennis | 5 | 101 | | 3 | Sue | | 12 | Cooking | 7 | 111 | '----'------' | 13 | Golf | 3 | 100 | '----'---------'---------'-----------------' So hopefully it is clear that person.id is used as the bit index in the bit array club.members. In this example the members column tells us that: no one is a member of Cricket, Bob/Sue - Tennis, Bob/Sue/Joe - Cooking and Sue - Golf. In my Java domain I'd like to declare this with entities like so: class Person { private int id; private String name; ... } class Club { private Set<Person> members; private int id; private String name; ... } I am assuming that I must use a UserType implementation but have been unable to find any examples where the items described by the user type are references to entities - not literal field values - or composites thereof. Additionally I am aware that I'll have to consider how the person entities are fetched when a club instance is loaded. Can anyone tell me how I can tame this legacy schema with Hibernate?

  • Gson Deserialize to Java Tree

    - by MountainX
    I need to deserialize some JSON to a Java tree structure that contains TreeNodes and NodeData. TreeNodes are thin wrappers around NodeData. I'll provide the JSON and the classes below. I have looked at the usual Gson help sources, including here, but I can't seem to come up with the solution. Serialization works fine with Gson. The JSON below was produced by Gson. But deserialization is the problem I need help with. Can someone show me how to write the deserializer (or suggest an alternative approach using Gson best practices)? Here is my JSON. The "data" element corresponds to class NodeData, and the "subList" JSON element corresponds to Java class TreeNode. { "data": { "version": "032", "name": "root", "path": "/", "id": "1", "parentId": "0", "toolTipText": "rootNode" }, "subList": [ { "data": { "version": "032", "name": "level1", "labelText": "Some Label Text at Level1", "path": "/root", "id": "2", "parentId": "1", "toolTipText": "a tool tip for level1" }, "subList": [ { "data": { "version": "032", "name": "level1_1", "labelText": "Label level1_1", "path": "/root/level1", "id": "3", "parentId": "2", "toolTipText": "ToolTipText for level1_1" } }, { "data": { "version": "032", "name": "level1_2", "labelText": "Label level1_2", "path": "/root/level1", "id": "4", "parentId": "2", "toolTipText": "ToolTipText for level1_2" } } ] }, { "data": { "version": "032", "name": "level2", "path": "/root", "id": "5", "parentId": "1", "toolTipText": "ToolTipText for level2" }, "subList": [ { "data": { "version": "032", "name": "level2_1", "labelText": "Label level2_1", "path": "/root/level2", "id": "6", "parentId": "5", "toolTipText": "ToolTipText for level2_1" }, "subList": [ { "data": { "version": "032", "name": "level2_1_1", "labelText": "Label level2_1_1", "path": "/root/level2/level2_1", "id": "7", "parentId": "6", "toolTipText": "ToolTipText for level2_1_1" } } ] } ] } ] } Here are the Java classes: public class Tree { private TreeNode rootElement; private HashMap<String, TreeNode> indexById; private HashMap<String, TreeNode> indexByKey; private long nextAvailableID = 0; public Tree() { indexById = new HashMap<String, TreeNode>(); indexByKey = new HashMap<String, TreeNode>(); } public long getNextAvailableID() { return this.nextAvailableID; } ... [snip] ... } public class TreeNode { private Tree tree; private NodeData data; public List<TreeNode> subList; private HashMap<String, TreeNode> indexById; private HashMap<String, TreeNode> indexByKey; //this default ctor is used only for Gson deserialization public TreeNode() { this.tree = new Tree(); indexById = tree.getIdIndex(); indexByKey = tree.getKeyIndex(); this.makeRoot(); tree.setRootElement(this); } //makes this node the root node. Calling this obviously has side effects. public NodeData makeRoot() { NodeData rootProp = new NodeData(TreeFactory.version, "example", "rootNode"); String nextAvailableID = getNextAvailableID(); if (!nextAvailableID.equals("1")) { throw new IllegalStateException(); } rootProp.setId(nextAvailableID); rootProp.setParentId("0"); rootProp.setKeyPathOnly("/"); rootProp.setSchema(tree); this.data = rootProp; rootProp.setNode(this); indexById.put(rootProp.getId(), this); indexByKey.put(rootProp.getKeyFullName(), this); return rootProp; } ... [snip] ... } public class NodeData { protected static Tree tree; private LinkedHashMap<String, String> keyValMap; protected String version; protected String name; protected String labelText; protected String path; protected String id; protected String parentId; protected TreeNode node; protected String toolTipText;//tool tip or help string protected String imagePath;//for things like images; not persisted to properties protected static final String delimiter = "/"; //this default ctor is used only for Gson deserialization public NodeData() { this("NOT_SET", "NOT_SET", "NOT_SET"); } ... [snip] ... } Side note: The tree data structure is a bit strange, as it includes indexes. Obviously, this isn't a typical search tree. In fact, the tree is used mainly to create a hierarchical path element (String) in each NodeData element. (Example: "path": "/root/level2/level2_1".) The indexes are actually used for NodeData retrieval.

  • How Does a COM Program Locate a .NET DLL Registered for COM Interop?

    - by Eric J.
    One customer wants to consume our .NET DLLs from VB6. They are designed to support reverse interop and all works fine... except: There are two separate VB6 programs in two different directories. It seems it's necessary to do one of: Copy the .NET DLL into both directories, or Install the .NET DLL in the GAC This is the customer's observation and also supported by the RegAsm documentation: After registering an assembly using Regasm.exe, you can install it in the global assembly cache so that it can be activated from any COM client. If the assembly is only going to be activated by a single application, you can place it in that application's directory. I'm confused on this point. First point of confusion: As far as I understand, the COM runtime locates the DLL using the Prog ID / Class ID. When I look in the registry at the Class ID entry, I see the full path to the .NET DLL in the CodeBase key. Why is it that a COM program using the Prog ID / Class ID doesn't locate the .NET DLL using the CodeBase? Second point of confusion: The GAC is specific to .NET. How is it involved in resolving COM references?

  • Flash gets XML but the values are wrong, as3

    - by VideoDnd
    Flash receives the XML, but the values are wrong. How do I fix this? Problem I can see the XML loaded with no errors, but my output is way off. It's as though it's not receiving any values. Numbers in the output window and animation move rapidly. The Flash file runs as if it's variables where set to zero. I changed the order of my code, but that didn't help with this. Please explain how I can correct this. SWF //load xml var myXML:XML; var myLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); myLoader.load(new URLRequest("xml.xml")); myLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, processXML); //parse XML function processXML(e:Event):void { myXML = new XML(e.target.data); trace(myXML); //receive values from XML delay = parseInt(myXML.DELAY.text()); trace(delay); repeat = parseInt(myXML.REPEAT.text()); trace(repeat); } //variables var delay:uint = 0; var repeat:uint = 0; //timer and event var timer:Timer = new Timer(uint(delay),uint(repeat)); timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, countdown); //counter function countdown(event:TimerEvent) { myText.text = String(0 + timer.currentCount); trace(0 + timer.currentCount); } timer.start(); XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <SESSION> <DELAY TITLE="starting position">1000</DELAY> <REPEAT TITLE="starting position">60</REPEAT> </SESSION>

  • Android - Widget to Play Video (onclick trouble)

    - by Josh
    I am trying to make a simple widget that will play a movie from the sdcard when clicked on. This seems simple enough, and by following tutorials I've come up with the following code, but it seems the onclick is never setup. Manifest: <receiver android:name="WidgetProvider" android:label="DVD Cover"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE"/> </intent-filter> <meta-data android:name="android.appwidget.provider" android:resource="@xml/appwidget_info_2x4"/> </receiver> Layout (widget.xml): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/holder" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:background="#ff777777" > <ImageView android:id="@+id/cover" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:textColor="#000000" /> </LinearLayout> appwidget.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <appwidget-provider xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:minWidth="200dip" android:minHeight="300dip" android:updatePeriodMillis="180000" android:initialLayout="@layout/widget" > </appwidget-provider> WidgetProvider.java: public class WidgetProvider extends AppWidgetProvider { public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { String movieurl = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getPath() + "/Movie.mp4"; Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW); notificationIntent.setDataAndType(Uri.parse(movieurl), "video/*"); PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, notificationIntent,0); // Get the layout for the App Widget and attach an on-click listener // to the button RemoteViews views = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.widget); views.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.holder, contentIntent); // Tell the AppWidgetManager to perform an update on the current app widget appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetIds, views); } } Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Josh

  • Out of Memory When Loading Java Entities

    - by Hugh Buchanan
    I have a terrible problem that hopefully has a very simple answer. I am running out of memory when I perform a basic If I have code like this: MyEntity myEntity; for (Object id: someIdList) { myEntity = find(id); // do something basic with myEntity } And the find() method is a standard EntityManager related method: public MyEntity find(Object id) { return em.find(mycorp.ejb.entity.MyEntity.class, id); } This code worked a couple of weeks ago, and works fine if there are fewer items in the database. The resulting error I am facing is: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded The exception is coming from oracle toplink calling some oracle jdbc methods. The loop exists because an EJBQL such as "select object(o) from MyEntity as o" will overload the application server when there are lots of records.

  • Atomikos with Hibernate will exhaust db connections

    - by peter
    I am testing an application (Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.5.0 Beta, Atomikos 3.6.2, and Postgreql 8.4.2) with the configuration for the DAO listed below. The problem that I see is that the pool of 10 connections with the dataSource gets exhausted after the 10's transaction. I know 'hibernate.connection.release_mode' has no effect unless the session is obtained with openSession rather then using a contextual session. I am wandering if anyone has found a way to instruct atomikos code to release connections after any transaction. Thank you Peter <bean id="dataSource" class="com.atomikos.jdbc.AtomikosDataSourceBean" init-method="init" destroy-method="close"> <property name="uniqueResourceName"><value>XADBMS</value></property> <property name="xaDataSourceClassName"> <value>org.postgresql.xa.PGXADataSource</value> </property> <property name="xaProperties"> <props> <prop key="databaseName">${jdbc.name}</prop> <prop key="serverName">${jdbc.server}</prop> <prop key="portNumber">${jdbc.port}</prop> <prop key="user">${jdbc.username}</prop> <prop key="password">${jdbc.password}</prop> </props> </property> <property name="poolSize"><value>10</value></property> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource"> <ref bean="dataSource" /> </property> <property name="mappingResources"> <list> <value>Abc.hbm.xml</value> </list> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">on</prop> <prop key="hibernate.format_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.connection.isolation">3</prop> <prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">jta</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.factory_class">org.hibernate.transaction.JTATransactionFactory</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.manager_lookup_class">com.atomikos.icatch.jta.hibernate3.TransactionManagerLookup</prop> <prop key="hibernate.connection.release_mode">auto</prop> <prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">org.hibernate.context.JTASessionContext</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.auto_close_session">true</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <!-- Transaction definition here --> <bean id="userTransactionService" class="com.atomikos.icatch.config.UserTransactionServiceImp" init-method="init" destroy-method="shutdownForce"> <constructor-arg> <props> <prop key="com.atomikos.icatch.service"> com.atomikos.icatch.standalone.UserTransactionServiceFactory </prop> </props> </constructor-arg> </bean> <!-- Construct Atomikos UserTransactionManager, needed to configure Spring --> <bean id="AtomikosTransactionManager" class="com.atomikos.icatch.jta.UserTransactionManager" init-method="init" destroy-method="close" depends-on="userTransactionService"> <property name="forceShutdown" value="false" /> </bean> <!-- Also use Atomikos UserTransactionImp, needed to configure Spring --> <bean id="AtomikosUserTransaction" class="com.atomikos.icatch.jta.UserTransactionImp" depends-on="userTransactionService"> <property name="transactionTimeout" value="300" /> </bean> <!-- Configure the Spring framework to use JTA transactions from Atomikos --> <bean id="txManager" class="org.springframework.transaction.jta.JtaTransactionManager" depends-on="userTransactionService"> <property name="transactionManager" ref="AtomikosTransactionManager" /> <property name="userTransaction" ref="AtomikosUserTransaction" /> </bean> <!-- the transactional advice (what 'happens'; see the <aop:advisor/> bean below) --> <tx:advice id="txAdvice" transaction-manager="txManager"> <tx:attributes> <!-- all methods starting with 'get' are read-only --> <tx:method name="get*" read-only="true" propagation="REQUIRED"/> <!-- other methods use the default transaction settings (see below) --> <tx:method name="*" propagation="REQUIRED"/> </tx:attributes> </tx:advice> <aop:config> <aop:advisor pointcut="execution(* *.*.AbcDao.*(..))" advice-ref="txAdvice"/> </aop:config> <!-- DAO objects --> <bean id="abcDao" class="test.dao.impl.HibernateAbcDao" scope="singleton"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"/> </bean>

  • Help with MySQL query - Product orders report without duplicate shipping charges

    - by Paul
    Hello, I have an issue creating a custom report for an e-commerce store running on osCommerce. The client wants the report to have the following columns: Date, Order ID, Product Class, Product Price, Product Tax, Shipping, Order Total The criteria for generating the report are Date Range and Product Class (Textbooks for example) The client wants the report to list each Textbook purchased on its own line. Orders with multiple textbooks would display a separate line for each Textbook in the order. I have it all working except for one part: the shipping amount is order-specific (based on the order total), not product-specific, and is displaying for each product. • How to create a jpeg using set of div with backgrounds - PHP/jQuery

    - by Dasun
    The final output of the image looks like this below. If you look into html parts, It's create using different divs as below. All the div are placed one on one using CSS and making the position to absolute. <div id="tproduct" class="timage" style="z-index: 30; background-image: url('main-mask.png') ;"></div> <div id="tdesign1" class="timage" style="z-index: 20; background-image: url('design1.png');"></div> <div id="tdesign2" class="timage" style="z-index: 20; background-image: url('design2.png');"></div> <div id="tmaincolor" class="timage" style="background-color:blue;"></div> <div id="tembellishment" class="timage" style="z-index: 10; background-image: url('flower.png');"></div> If we look at separately it will look like this below. etc My question is how can I create a single image using above set of divs and images? I can use PHP or jQuery? I only want the steps or guidance how it should be done. Thanks

  • my getJSON code doesn't work in jquery 1.4.2

    - by Nikolius
    This is my first question on stackoverflow. I just wonder why my getJSON code doesn't work with jQuery 1.4.2, it worked smoothly with jQuery 1.3.2 though So here is my code $(document).ready(function(){ $('td.hps_ajax a').click(function() { id = this.id.replace(/.*hps_ajax/,''); if(confirm('Anda yakin mau menghapus record ini?')) $.getJSON('../admin/media_admin/ajaxHapus/'+id, remove_row); return false; }); }) function remove_row(data) { if(data.sukses == '1') { $('td.hps_ajax a#hps_ajax'+data.id).closest('tr').fadeOut('slow',function() { $(this).remove(); }); } else { alert('Gagal menghapus File.'); } } The getJSON link is a CodeIgniter App Link. Anyone know why this doesn't work anymore?

  • JPA Cascading Delete: Setting child FK to NULL on a NOT NULL column

    - by JBristow
    I have two tables: t_promo_program and t_promo_program_param. They are represented by the following JPA entities: @Entity @Table(name = "t_promo_program") public class PromoProgram { @Id @Column(name = "promo_program_id") private Long id; @OneToMany(cascade = {CascadeType.REMOVE}) @JoinColumn(name = "promo_program_id") private List<PromoProgramParam> params; } @Entity @Table(name = "t_promo_program_param") public class PromoProgramParam { @Id @Column(name = "promo_program_param_id") private Long id; //@NotNull // This is a Hibernate annotation so that my test db gets created with the NOT NULL attribute, I'm not married to this annotation. @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name = "PROMO_PROGRAM_ID", referencedColumnName = "promo_program_id") private PromoProgram promoProgram; } When I delete a PromoProgram, Hibernate hits my database with: update T_PROMO_PROGRAM_PARAM set promo_program_id=null where promo_program_id=? delete from t_promo_program where promo_program_id=? and last_change=? I'm at a loss for where to start looking for the source of the problem.

  • Why don't these class attributes register?

    - by slypete
    I have a factory method that generates django form classes like so: def get_indicator_form(indicator, patient): class IndicatorForm(forms.Form): #These don't work! indicator_id = forms.IntegerField(initial=indicator.id, widget=forms.HiddenInput()) patient_id = forms.IntegerField(initial=patient.id, widget=forms.HiddenInput()) def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): forms.Form.__init__(self, *args, **kwargs) self.indicator = indicator self.patient = patient #These do! setattr(IndicatorForm, 'indicator_id', forms.IntegerField(initial=indicator.id, widget=forms.HiddenInput())) setattr(IndicatorForm, 'patient_id', forms.IntegerField(initial=patient.id, widget=forms.HiddenInput())) for field in indicator.indicatorfield_set.all(): setattr(IndicatorForm, field.name, copy(field.get_field_type())) return type('IndicatorForm', (forms.Form,), dict(IndicatorForm.__dict__)) I'm trying to understand why the top form field declarations don't work, but the setattr method below does work. I'm fairly new to python, so I suspect it's some language feature that I'm misunderstanding. Can you help me understand why the field declarations at the top of the class don't add the fields to the class? In a possibly related note, when these classes are instantiated, instance.media returns nothing even though some fields have widgets with associated media. Thanks, Pete

  • mySQL and general database normalization question

    - by Sinan
    I have question about normalization. Suppose I have an applications dealing with songs. First I thought about doing like this: Songs Table: id | song_title | album_id | publisher_id | artist_id Albums Table: id | album_title | etc... Publishers Table: id | publisher_name | etc... Artists Tale: id | artist_name | etc... Then as I think about normalization stuff. I thought I should get rid of "album_id, publisher_id, and artist_id in songs table and put them in intermediate tables like this. Table song_album: song_id, album_id Table song_publisher song_id, publisher_id Table song_artist song_id, artist_id Now I can't decide which is the better way. I'm not an expert on database design so If someone would point out the right direction. It would awesome. Are there any performance issues between two approaches? Thanks

  • Eclipselink read complex oject model in an ordered way

    - by Raven
    Hi, I need to read a complex model in an ordered way with eclipselink. The order is mandantory because it is a huge database and I want to have an output of a small portion of the database in a jface tableview. Trying to reorder it in the loading/quering thread takes too long and ordering it in the LabelProvider blocks the UI thread too much time, so I thought if Eclipselink could be used that way, that the database will order it, it might give me the performance I need. Unfortunately the object model can not be changed :-( The model is something like: @SuppressWarnings("serial") @Entity public class Thing implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.TABLE) private int id; private String name; @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.ALL) @PrivateOwned private List<Property> properties = new ArrayList<Property>(); ... // getter and setter following here } public class Property implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.TABLE) private int id; @OneToOne private Item item; private String value; ... // getter and setter following here } public class Item implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.TABLE) private int id; private String name; .... // getter and setter following here } // Code end In the table view the y-axis is more or less created with the query Query q = em.createQuery("SELECT m FROM Thing m ORDER BY m.name ASC"); using the "name" attribute from the Thing objects as label. In the table view the x-axis is more or less created with the query Query q = em.createQuery("SELECT m FROM Item m ORDER BY m.name ASC"); using the "name" attribute from the Item objects as label. Each cell has the value Things.getProperties().get[x].getValue() Unfortunately the list "properties" is not ordered, so the combination of cell value and x-axis column number (x) is not necessarily correct. Therefore I need to order the list "properties" in the same way as I ordered the labeling of the x-axis. And exactly this is the thing I dont know how it is done. So querying for the Thing objects should return the list "properties" "ORDER BY name ASC" but of the "Item"s objects. My ideas are something like having a query with two JOINs. Joing Things with Property and with Item but somehow I was unable to get it to work yet. Thank you for your help and your ideas to solve this riddle.
