  • How to draw an CGImage with some alpha transparency?

    Want to draw an UIImageView which has an CGImage, and the UIImageView has alpha 0.5f. But this CGContextDrawImage function doesnt take an transparency value. So how could I draw an image slightly transparent? To be clear: The image itself is not transparent, but I want it to be "dimmed" a little bit. Just like you would do with an UIImageView and some alpha like 0.5f :-)

I'm not interested in how creating plugin for jQuery (so no jQuery code here at all).   • What's the easy way to test for 304 reponses?

    I need to test if my 304 responses are working, but my development environment is pretty hard set on force no-cache. Is there an easy way to modify the max-age value of the cache-control header before it goes out? I'm perhaps a bit optimistic in hoping chrome (or an extension, or FF) has a console command letting me alter the if-modified-since header then send the request. Maybe paste something into a telnet connection?

Is my logic sound here? Or is there a limit to the input that a MD5 function can take? Thanks...

    I'm working in VS2008 and C#, and I'm looking for a (free) code generator tool to generate a property with getter and setter, as well as the backing private field to go with. The template thingy in VS does not make the field to go with it. Just looking for something a little bit better.   • Why is the compiler not complaining about an additional ',' in Array or Object Initializers?

    Using simple type like class A { public int X, Y; } with object intializers, one can write var a = new A { X=0, Y=0 }; But the following is also accepted by the compiler: var a = new A { X=0, Y=0, }; // notice the additional ',' Same for int[] v = new int[] { 1, 2, }; This looks a bit strange ... Did they forgot to reject the additional ',' in the compiler or is there a deeper meaning behind this?

I'm using this algorithm, at the moment, but something inside myself dies anytime I see it: 10**( int( math.log10(x) ) ) # python pow( 10, (int) log10(x) ) // C I could implement simple log10 and pow functions for my problems with one loop each, but still I'm wondering if there is some bit magic for decimal numbers.

I would like to send this XML to some file and prompt the user to save it on their disk (all this happens in the browser at the client, no server interaction whatsoever). Is this at all possible?
