• Is it possible to guarantee a unique id for multiple items using the same id variable at a point in

    - by Scarface
    First of all, do not be overwhelmed by the long code, I just put it for reference...I have a function that preg_replaces content and puts it in a jquery dialog box with a matching open-link. For example, if there is a paragraph with two matches, they will be put inside two divs, and a jquery dialog function will be echoed twice; one for each div. While this works for one match, if there are multiple matches, it does not. I am not sure how to distribute unique ids at a point in time for each of the divs and matching dialog open-scripts. Keep in mind, I removed the preg replace function since it kind of complicates the problem. If anyone has any ideas, they will be greatly appreciated. <?php $id=uniqid(); $id2=uniqid(); echo "

"; ?> $.ui.dialog.defaults.bgiframe = true; $(function() { $("<?php echo"#$id2"; ?>").dialog({hide: 'clip', modal: true ,width: 600,height: 350,position: 'center', show: 'clip',stack: true,title: 'title', minHeight: 25, minWidth: 100, autoOpen: false}); $('<?php echo"#$id"; ?>').click(function() { $('<?php echo"#$id2"; ?>').dialog('open'); }) .hover( function(){ $(this).addClass("ui-state-hover"); }, function(){ $(this).removeClass("ui-state-hover"); } ).mousedown(function(){ $(this).addClass("ui-state-active"); }) .mouseup(function(){ $(this).removeClass("ui-state-active"); }); });

    - by crosenblum
    I have seen how to add google calendar, but when I run it, it create's a new calendar, even though the selector I am using, refer's to an existing calendar. $calendar.fullCalendar({ events: $.fullCalendar.gcalFeed($feed_url.val()) }); I have other functions, that use renderEvents, but I am not sure how to use that with google calendars... Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank You.

  • jQuery Looking for a function to equalize heights of divs based on tallest image in a table.

    - by Jamie
    I am doing a site that will have a table with a bunch of images in them. They are user added images so I have no control over aspect ratio, what I do have control over is I can the force a max height/width and the image will not exceed this in either direction, but the height can (and will) fluctuate.

....... What I need ideally is to get the height of the tallest image and then make the all of the children divs the same height based on the height of the tallest one. I hope that makes sense, been a long day. I made a jsfiddle page for it here: http://jsfiddle.net/Evolution/27EJB/

  • appendTo() inside $.each in jquery seems to cause flicker....

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    appendTo() causes flicker when it is inside $.each.... $.each(jsob.Table, function(i, employee) { $('

' + employee.Emp_Name + 'Category : ' + employee.Desig_Name + '

Salary Basis : ' + employee.SalaryBasis + 'Salary : ' + employee.FixedSalary + 'Address : ' + employee.Address + '
').appendTo('#ResultsDiv'); }); Right now i am appending every new div to #ResultsDiv inside$.each is it good/bad to do so... If it is bad What can be done to make my divs appendTo() after the loop so that i it wont flicker.... EDIT:(based on answer) var divs = ''; $.each(jsob.Table, function(i, employee) { divs += '

' + employee.Emp_Name + 'Category : ' + employee.Desig_Name + '

Salary Basis : ' + employee.SalaryBasis + 'Salary : ' + employee.FixedSalary + 'Address : ' + employee.Address + '
'; }); $("#ResultsDiv").append(divs); But that too doesn't stop the flicker...

  • Can jQuery dynamically change a "username" field based on a "name" field?

    - by SoulieBaby
    Hi all, basically I have two input fields, "name" and "username". The idea is that the "username" field will change depending on what is entered into the "name" field - dynamically. I also need the username field to be in lowercase only and to change spaces into dashes. I was thinking using onkeydown but I couldn't get it to do anything. I've been looking around, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Anyone got any ideas? ^^ basic form inputs.

  • Dynamically writing out li with jquery. Element is not clickable after being written

    - by estern
    I have have a a function that when a checkbox is checked i dynamically write out an li into a ol that is empty. Code: $(":checkbox").click(function() { var checkedState = $(this).is(':checked'); if (checkedState == true) { var productName = $(this).attr("title"); $("#selectedProductsList").append("<li class=\"productList " + this + "\">

"+ productName +"
"); }; }); Then when that writes out there is a remove icon that will remove the item from the ol when clicked. This remove icon has a class of removeIcon which can be seen in the dynamic li above. I have a function that processes the remove call and then does some actions: Code: $('.removeIcon').click(function() { alert("starting"); }); Right now i have the remove action just trying to alert a message that it got called. But it seems that it is not getting into the function. Is there a certain way that i need to access these dynamic li's other then the .click method? I saw this post: Dynamically Inserted DOM Elements are not Clickable using $.click() Where they added .live vs .click but this doesn't seem to work either. Any ideas?

  • Is there a sexier way to write this jQuery selector?

    - by Bears will eat you
    I want to select all the children of the body element before element with id foo (which is a child of body). Since it doesn't look like there are :before() or :after() selectors, I've got it working like this: $('body > :first').nextUntil('#foo').andSelf(); but it seems kludgy. Could this be done with fewer function calls, or more efficiently? Maybe something akin to $('body > *:before(#foo)') ?

  • jQuery make child div visible on hover (on effective li element only, not parent!)

    - by Dennis
    I've already tried all of the existing posts related to this, but they doesn't work as I want it... The HTML:

Start Page

Sub Seite

Sub Sub Seite

This should look like this: Start Page Sub Page Sub Page I want the div.li_options which is set for every li element to be shown only on hovering element. I know, that the parent's li is also being "hovered" on hovering child elements, but I don't those "li_options" to be displayed. The best solution so far: $(document).ready(function() { $('.sortable li').mouseover(function() { $(this).children().children('.li_options').show(); }).mouseout(function() { $(this).children().children('.li_options').hide(); }); }); But with this, parents aren't being excluded... I don't know how to point on them, because there can be endless levels. Do you know how to get this working?

  • jQuery code doesn't work when normally run. But i does with breakpoints activated.

    - by Dante
    Hi, I have the following code in my application: $(".deleteproduct").click(function() { id = this.id; alert("id: " + id); }); If i run my site nothing happens when I click on an element with the class deleteproduct. But when I place breakpoints before line 1,2 and 3 it works like a charm. The elements with class deleteproduct are loaded through AJAX call right behind $(document).ready(function(). The .click code is underneath it. This seems really weird to me. It's working if breakpoints in Firebug are used, but not when there are not...
