• I Can't update 12.04 to 12.10 ERROR:"gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature!"

  I'm trying to update to 12.10 from a 12.04 machine. When I ran the code sudo do-release-upgrade -d in my terminal and verified my password it checked for a new upgrade. I was then returned with this: gpg: Good signature from "Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <[email protected]>" gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature! gpg: There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.` There of course is more but it looks like it may or may not be showing private information with it. What's causing this and how do I fix this.

• How can I fix the iptables error message "unable to initialize table 'filter'"?

  When I try to use iptables command on one of my Rackspace cloud server, I'm getting the following error. In an attempt to apply iptables rules with iptables-apply -t 120 /etc/iptables.rules and iptables-restore < /etc/iptables.rules I got the next error: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.35.4-rscloud/modules.dep: No such file or directory iptables-restore v1.4.4: iptables-restore: unable to initialize table 'filter' Error occurred at line: 2 Try `iptables-restore -h' or 'iptables-restore --help' for more information. How do I fix this?

While that blogpost does a great job explaining why this monitoring is necessary, how you can tweak it, it still becomes a nuisance on SharePoint virtual machines used for development. It also becomes a nuisance on production environments because SharePoint databases are set to auto grow. In other words, as the database is being used, it only grows, and grows, and GROWS! • Window colors/shades/decoarations/whatever per instance

  Sometimes I open several instances of one program at the same time and have to switch between them every few seconds and get totally confused as to which is which (they all display similar information, except few bits). I'd like to have each one of them color-coded, different shades, window border, etc or have anything visual to make them differ from one another to ease the confusion. Ideally this would happen automatically when I launch a new instance. I guess this belongs to the window manager so mine is xfce. In one of the window managers I used to use a huge label was displayed each time I switched between workspaces, something like that (with window title or simple number) would do as well. Any clues?

• Graphical Mode breaks after suspend/ returning from Console

  When I try to go to a virtual console (ctrl alt f1) and return to f7, my screen freaks out. Its black with frequent white 'lightning bolts' flashing across the screen. Nothing works, but to force shutdown. Same when trying to resume from suspend. This doesnt happen every time, but very often. I dont know what information might be useful but: Ubuntu 12.10 ATI RS880M [Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series] Gallium 0.4 on AMD RS880 this line in xsession-errors might be pertinent: (gnome-settings-daemon:1825): color-plugin-WARNING **: Done switch to new account, reload devices p.s. Ive tried the fglrx drivers but need the legacy drivers as described here, but nothing past a black screen.

  I am finally going to buy a domain I have been looking at. The domain owner wants me to give him my Godaddy account information and send him the payment via Paypal gift, so that there will be no extra charges. Should this cause suspicion? Does Paypal offer any kind of fraud protection? What is the best way to protect myself from fraud in this situation, without the need for escrow services, such as escrow.com? Any advice welcomed. • ETL Software Research Question

  Where I work, we use an in-house ETL solution that's homegrown and has been around for 5-10 years. I'm still new to my data analysis job, but I was wondering about the ETL tools that are out there. This is a new area for me. My situation, and job, is basically digging in a set of databases (DB2, SQL2005, Citrix, Ancient Cobol Database with a SQL Wrapper on top, MySQL, etc). Gather the desired information. combine the different datasets into one set. output into a file of choice (CSV, Tab Separated, Pipe Separated, XLS, etc). FTP to customer. I guess what my real question is, given my job, what are some good ETL suites that I can look at and compare to my in-house tools? This is more to research some other options. Ultimately, I'd either suggest a new solution or get options/ideas to improve our current app.

  My first post.  Working with Google Analytics (GA).  What an incredible tool this is for those that are wanting to know about their site traffic.  GA allows the user to drill down to the screen size of any mobile sources that came in contact with his site.  The user is even able to know region demographics of visitors and the types of browsers and languages being used.  This is a great tool to help determine your target audience and what direction of growth one may be needing to take.GA has Real-Time currently in beta but it already allows the user to see some information.  I can already detect that I am viewing my site from Louisville, KY and what page of my site is being accessed.  I highly recommend using GA for the sheer plethora of data available.

  I would like to know what is the parameters to be considered while developing a crawler like that of Screaming Frog. Am looking forward for information on do's and dont's of webpage crawling. What are the problems the crawler may infuse on the webpages like loadtime (maybe?) or anything that effects webpage during crawling. What are the rules the crawler needs to follow etc. Basically anything info that makes the crawler look good and accurate. Just point me in a right direction to achieve it.. • How do I install a driver for a Kodak esp 3250 printer?

  First my system: pentium 4 -don't remember the speed-, 1g ram, dual boot to separate physical drives, Fdos and Lubuntu 12.1 second my lan: I have four computers operating for the same printer. Intel quad core i5, 4g ram, running Windoze 7 64 bit, printer connected and shared from here. Kodak ESP 3250 Gateway 17" laptop running Windoze 7 32bit Asus tablet (small laptop) running Lumbutu 12.1 My dual boot system running Fdos and Lubuntu 12.1 The problem: I downloaded c2esp_25c-1_i386.deb, tried to install it using DEBI Package Installer, it loads the files, looks for cups driver and ends with an error: "Dependancy is not satisfiable: libcupsdriver1 (=1.4.0)" What do I do now? Is there some place that I can get the correct cups driver? further information: The Asus tablet was running Ubuntu 12.1 (very slowly and with a few crashes) and could print from the lan printer with no problems. Is there something in Ubuntu that can be loaded into Lubuntu?

• Network printer gets disabled occasionally

  I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and have a HP-Laserjet-3005P network printer. Occasionally (perhaps related to rebooting) the printer, which is setup as the default printer, becomes disabled. After realizing that I'm not getting anything printed, I must then open printing preferences and click on "enabled". Then it prints happily until the next time that it becomes disabled... Any ideas why this is happening and/or how I could fix it? I know I'm giving very little information, I can't think of anything else to give...if there's something I should be providing, please let me know.

• Avoid overwriting of logs

  What usually happens is, the logs get filled up and begin getting overwritten, which makes them useless. To avoid it, use these 2 properties in the logging.properties file to suit your requirement: java.util.logging.FileHandler.count  = x (it is 1 by default, increase it to a bigger value) This number specifies the number of log files that can be created before overwriting starts. For instance, if you set it to 5, java0.log, java1.log ... java5.log will be created to log details so more information can be captured Likewise, java.util.logging.FileHandler.limit  would specify the size of each log.

  I run a fishkeeping website based on a WordPress (PHP) CMS. I've recently put a fairly complex "filter" into place which searches my content for mentions of fish species profiles and turns them into an active link. For example, asdasd this is a test about abdomen to see if the caudal fin will work asdadasdas try again with abdomen and A. panduro and Apistogramma panduro ...becomes asdasd this is a test about abdomen to see if the caudal fin will work asdadasdas try again with abdomen and <a href="/?p=1703" class="link_species">A. panduro</a> and <a href="/?p=1703" class="link_species">Apistogramma panduro</a> On the rest of my website, the species are linked with pretty URLs such as /species/apistogramma-panduro/ but due to the way this filter works, the only information I can get access to is the idof the post. As such, I'm using /?p=1703 or whatever the ID is. What I'd like to know is: how much will this affect my SEO rating/ranking? Will it be detrimental if I don't rewrite the function?   Good day everyone! This is my first post on this site ^_^ My question is: What are my options if I need a Web 2.0 gallery software that work in a very similar manner to this removed web site. Essentially: users can create account, then create and manage their own galleries. And all other users and guests can see these galleries, add tags, comments, etc. Basically a community driven gallery web site. When it comes to "normal" cms I know a lot of good options, but I never worked with any gallery management software... If you can suggest me some good solutions (free) it would be great!   I've been out of the Ubuntu loop for quite a while now and have a completely new laptop now. Just installed Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit and would like to output my video and my audio via HDMI to my television. the following is the lspci | grep VGA for my computer. please tell me if there is any additional information needed and preferably how to obtain it and i will be more than happy to oblige. thank you in advance for your time and assistance in this matter. 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 540M] (rev a1) Edit: every time i restart my computer, after a short moment, i get an error message stating something along the lines "sorry, jockey needed to close unexpectedly." after researching, i discovered jockey is the name of the "additional drivers," which after initial installation, ubuntu informed me of proprietary drivers available. those are no longer available, and this error continues to occur.

  I was reading a book about SW engineering the other day and it went like: Sources of both functional and non-functional requirements are: law (for specific cases) business and user requirements etc. //what else then? So the question is, what other sources of requirements there are when an analyst is gathering the information? Lets consider a desktop app for mobile operator. As for the comment, I do not think this is a broad question as the books usually mention 1-2 sources. I would like to know more, if anyone can help.
