  • WPF textbox derived control override drag&drop OnPreviewDrop (C sharp)

    - by Petr Klus
    Hi, I have been working on my custom control derived from the TextBox and I have encountered a problem I can not solve right now. Brief description of the problem: my textbox contains plain text which contains tags which I want to keep consistent - so far I have overriden text selection so they can be selected only as a whole tag etc. Right now I have moved to processing of drag&drop. If any text is dropped on the textfield and it is dropped on the tag, I want the insertion to be moved before or after the tag. The actual problem is with setting of the e.Handled=true. If I set it to true, it almost works - the text is inserted via my routine, but it is not removed from the source. If I set it to false, after executing my method the original textbox's insertion method is run. Is there any way to alter event routing? Or am I approaching this wrong from the start? Code of my method: protected override void OnPreviewDragEnter(DragEventArgs e) { base.OnPreviewDragEnter(e); e.Handled = true; // let us draw our very own caret... } protected override void OnPreviewDrop(DragEventArgs e) { base.OnPreviewDrop(e); fieldsReady = false; int selStart = this.SelectionStart; int selLength = this.SelectionLength; string droppedData = (string)e.Data.GetData(DataFormats.StringFormat); // where to insert Point whereDropped = e.GetPosition(this); int droppedIndex = GetCharacterIndexFromPoint(whereDropped, true); if (droppedIndex == this.Text.Length - 1) { double c = GetRectFromCharacterIndex(droppedIndex).X; if (whereDropped.X > c) droppedIndex++; } // only if the source was us, do this: if (this.SelectionLength > 0) // this means that we are dragging from our textbox! { // was there any selection? if so, remove it! this.Text = this.Text.Substring(0, selStart) + this.Text.Substring(selStart + selLength); e.Handled = true; // 2DO!! alter the indices depending on the removed selection // insertion this.Text = this.Text.Substring(0, droppedIndex) + droppedData + this.Text.Substring(droppedIndex); } }

  • Appstore - An application with only Youtube videos will be accepted?

    - by Pittor
Hi, this is my question... I have a compilation(UITableView) of videos from youtube of a particular gender(funny videos, for example) and I want to know if this app will pass the approval process. These videos are freely accessible by anyone in youtube, but ins't uploaded/recorded by me. This is a concept: http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/3466/img0075.png (obviously with a cool skin design and more options like Favorites, Share with friends, etc) Thanks for reading.

  • Wanted: Good examples of Scala database persistence

    - by Rydell
I'm would like to use Scala to persist data to a relational database, so what I am looking for are examples of CRUD operations using Scala. I would like to code on a lower level of abstraction than an ORM like Hibernate/Toplink (read:JDBC), but between us, I would like to see examples of all types. Thanks folks.

  • ConcurrenctBag(Of MyType) Vs List(Of MyType)

    - by Ben
What is the advantage of using a ConcurrentBag(Of MyType) against just using a List(Of MyType)? The MSDN page on the CB (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd381779(v=VS.100).aspx) states that ConcurrentBag(Of T) is a thread-safe bag implementation, optimized for scenarios where the same thread will be both producing and consuming data stored in the bag So what is the advantage? I can understand the advantage of the other collection types in the Concurrency namespace, but this one puzzled me. Thanks.

  • Problem running apps fullscreen in emulator

    - by Haakon
I've created a device targeting 2.1 and having a screen screen size of 480x800 (WVGA). Some apps, including the one I'm currently writing, as well as the ApiDemos example, won't run fullscreen. I've uploaded a screenshot here: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/503/emulator.png What could cause something like this? If I run these apps on my HTC Desire (which has the same resolution), they utilize the whole screen like they should.

  • Why is Private Accessor deprecated?

    - by user3918598
It used to be the number one reason for us to choose MSTest from others that we could access and test private methods. Now that Private accessors are deprecated in Visual Studio 2012. Does anyone know why Microsoft make such decision? Is it because it's not a good practice to test private methods? Also, if I still need to unit test my private methods, how could I do that in VS 2012 and later versions?

  • Using Message Boxes in Windows 7 style

    - by Meta
After reading the MSDN article about proper user interface here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa974176.aspx I want to modify the message boxes I use in my applications to reflect those guidelines (for example, have the Main Instructions in a larger font, better named Buttons, etc...). My question is, is there an API that allows you to easily build those kind of message boxes (a la user32\MessageBox()), or do you actually have to build your own message boxes which follow the guidelines?

    - by Andrea
I have to create a bunch of these "Share this on" Technorati, Digg, Facebook, Reddit, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, MySpace and so on. It is very easy to find online icons for this task, but it is a little more difficult to find what URLs I should link. Is there any updated list of all these services? Of course I could copy them from other sites having this, but I am not sure they are updated, and moreover maybe there is some GET parameter I want to set differently.

  • A comprehensive regex for phone number validation

    - by Nicholas Trandem
I'm trying to put together a comprehensive regex to validate phone numbers. Ideally it would handle international formats, but it must handle US formats, including the following: 1-234-567-8901 1-234-567-8901 x1234 1-234-567-8901 ext1234 1 (234) 567-8901 1.234.567.8901 1/234/567/8901 12345678901 I'll answer with my current attempt, but I'm hoping somebody has something better and/or more elegant.

  • unique substrings using suffix tree

    - by user1708762
For a given string S of length n- Optimal algorithm for finding all unique substrings of S can't be less than O(n^2). So, the best algorithm will give us the complexity of O(n^2). As per what I have read, this can be implemented by creating suffix tree for S. The suffix tree for S can be created in O(n) time. Now, my question is- How can we use the suffix tree for S to get all the unique substrings of S in O(n^2)?

  • Path variable to mso.dll and msoutl.olb

    - by Stefanie
Hey, I'm trying to develop a toolbar for Microsoft Outlook. For getting it to work I need mso.dll and msoutl.olb as an import. My problem is: the path is hardcoded , but it varies for every OS and of course if someone doesn't install Office to the default path. I tried it this way http://support.microsoft.com/kb/234788/en-us/ but it didn't work, because I couldn't get the return value I needed (OK, after four type conversions but I thought there had to be a better way ;) ) Thanks for helping

  • Integer to Character conversion in C

    - by nthrgeek
Lets us consider this snippet: int s; scanf("%c",&s); Here I have used int, and not char, for variable s, now for using s for character conversion safely I have to make it char again because when scanf reads a character it only overwrites one byte of the variable it is assigning it to, and not all four that int has. For conversion I could use s = (char)s; as the next line, but is it possible to implement the same by subtracting something from s ?
