  • Silverlight ViewBase in separate assembly - possible?

    - by Mark
I have all my views in a project inheriting from a ViewBase class that inherits from UserControl. In my XAML I reference it thus: <f:ViewBase x:Class="Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views.AddNewEmployeeView" xmlns:f="clr-namespace:Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" It works fine. Now I have moved the ViewBase to another project (so I can refernce it from multiple projects) so I reference it like: <f:ViewBase x:Class="Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views.AddNewEmployeeView" xmlns:f="clr-namespace:Forte.UI.Modules.Common.Views;assembly=Forte.UI.Modules.Common" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" This works fine when I run from the IDE but when I run the same sln from MSBuild it gives a warning: "H:\dev\ExternalCopy\Code\UI\Modules\Configure\Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.csproj" (default target) (10:12) - (ValidateXaml target) - H:\dev\ExternalCopy\Code\UI\Modules\Configure\Views\AddNewEmployee\AddNewEmployeeView.xaml(1,2,1,2): warning : The tag 'ViewBase' does not exist in XML namespace 'clr-namespace:Forte.UI.Modules.Common.Views;assembly=Forte.UI.Modules.Common'. Then fails with: "H:\dev\ExternalCopy\Code\UI\Modules\Configure\Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.csproj" (default target) (10:12) - (ValidateXaml target) - C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Silverlight.Common.targets(210,9): error MSB4018: The "ValidateXaml" task failed unexpectedly.\r C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Silverlight.Common.targets(210,9): er ror MSB4018: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.\r C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Silverlight.Common.targets(210,9): er ror MSB4018: at MS.MarkupCompiler.ValidationPass.ValidateXaml(String fileName, Assembly[] assemb lies, Assembly callingAssembly, TaskLoggingHelper log, Boolean shouldThrow)\r C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Silverlight.Common.targets(210,9): er ror MSB4018: at Microsoft.Silverlight.Build.Tasks.ValidateXaml.XamlValidator.Execute()\r C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Silverlight.Common.targets(210,9): er ror MSB4018: at Microsoft.Silverlight.Build.Tasks.ValidateXaml.XamlValidator.Execute()\r C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Silverlight.Common.targets(210,9): er ror MSB4018: at Microsoft.Silverlight.Build.Tasks.ValidateXaml.Execute()\r C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\v3.0\Microsoft.Silverlight.Common.targets(210,9): er ror MSB4018: at Microsoft.Build.BuildEngine.TaskEngine.ExecuteInstantiatedTask(EngineProxy engin eProxy, ItemBucket bucket, TaskExecutionMode howToExecuteTask, ITask task, Boolean& taskResult) Any ideas what might be causing this behaviour? Using Silverlight 3 Here is a cut down version of the MSBuild file that fails to build the sln that builds fine in the IDE (sorry couldn't get it to format here): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Project xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003" DefaultTargets="Compile"> <ItemGroup> <ProjectToBuild Include="..\UI\Forte.UI.sln"> <Properties>Configuration=Debug</Properties> </ProjectToBuild> </ItemGroup> <Target Name="Compile"> <MSBuild Projects="@(ProjectToBuild)"></MSBuild> </Target> </Project> Thanks for any help!

  • Proprietary software based on MIT license.

    - by Kevin_Jim
As far as I understand. I can use a project licensed under MIT license into a proprietary software. Am I right? It dosen't force any copyleft and I don't have to say that my project is based on something else. That means I can fork the hell out of it, right? Can someone shed some light over this?

  • Install driver and copying files before Installation runs

    - by Kazoom
I have created installation package for my project, but before or after installation is complete i need to install some drivers and copy some files to target machine, before my software can run. Is it possible for me to do all this action in the MSI installer setup project of visual studio 2005. One option i have explored is using autoITscript, is there a better approach than that? i feel able to do the whole thing in visual studio would be an ideal way? any suggestions? Thanks

  • SimpleModal plugin is causing jQuery conflict with Spring DWR

    - by DS
Hi, I'm using SimpleModal plugin (http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/) for generating a simple modal dialog. Now the application I'm using this in had some previous code that uses Spring MVC - DWR Ajax framework. I believe it uses jQuery internally. Now when I include the jQuery file in this project and use the plugin, the plugin works fine but it is breaking the existing AJAX implementations in the project (which I assume is because I'm including the jQuery file again.) How do I resolve this conflict?

  • Visual Studio 2010 including old version of jquery

    - by icemanind
When I create a new ASP.NET project in Visual Studio 2010, it creates the scripts directory, like it should, however the version of JQuery it sticks under the scripts directory is an old version of JQuery. Version 1.36 I believe. How can I update this so that Visual Studio 2010 will include the newest version of jquery? I know I can remove it and manually add it, but I don't want to have to do this everytime I create a new project.

There are three major frameworks for iPhone audio : AVFoundation Framework CoreAudio Framework OpenAL Library And in turn CoreAudio Framework has AudioToolkit Framework and AudioUnit Framework Is this correct? Suppose I import AVFoundation Framework into my project and it in turn needs a feature which is provided by CoreAudio Framework.. Can it internally access the features of CoreAudio without importing CoreAudio framework into my project?

  • ASP.NET MVC Ajax.ActionLink's weird behavior

    - by Alex
I'm doing the simplest ajax request possible: public ActionResult SayHello() { return Content("YYAAAY"); } ////////// <div id="Div1"> <%= Ajax.ActionLink("SAY HELLO", "SayHello", new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "Div1" })%> </div> It works when I start an empty ASP.NET MVC project, but when I use it in my current project, it displays the whole page recursively instead of YYAAAY phrase only. Where might be the problem?

  • Disable lazy loading by default in Entity Framework 4

    - by Mikey Cee
It seems that lazy loading is enabled by default in EF4. At least, in my project, I can see that the value of dataContext.ContextOptions.LazyLoadingEnabled is true by default. I don't want lazy loading and I don't want to have to write: dataContext.ContextOptions.LazyLoadingEnabled = false; each time I get a new context. So is there a way to turn it off by default, say, across the whole project?

  • How do I open a new browser tab?

    - by Ionut Staicu
Hi guys. I'm working on this project and I have to open a new browser tab. Actually, I have to open a target="_blank" link without the link. I know is not right to interfere with the user preferences, but hey, this is the project requirements. So, long story short, i have to replicate the target="_blank" behavior only with javascript. Is this even possible? Thanks!
