I'd like Apache to terminate my perl script after 1 minute if it doesn't complete naturally. Is there a setting in Apache (or other server software) to do this?
Is it possible to view only those elements of GPO that are actually modified/specified?
For example, when looking at RSOP for an OU, I have loads of options which are mostly not specified - can I automatically filter it to show only e.g. that it doesn't allow to use control panel or install software, instead of looking through all options?
I am using Win2003 and I have only the default tools.
Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
I have a 64 bit windows 7 install (thru bootcamp) on my 17" macbook pro, with the bootcamp 3.0 drivers. Whenever i run the apple software update to install the 3.1 drivers, it downloads and installs them, then reboots, and when i've rebooted, it's still stuck on version 3.0 according to 'about boot camp' on the system tray icon. I've tried installing several times, it keeps happening.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I have a VPN connection set up using the Cisco VPN Client, and whenever I connect to it I lose my internet connection. This is the first time I have used this software, all previous VPNs I have used have been setup through Windows and I can uncheck the 'use remote gateway' box in the TCP-IP properties box to get around this.
Is there a similar option in the Cisco Client that I am missing? I am running on Windows 7 32 bit
Can anybody suggest me any good and preferably free software - working on Vista / 7 - for recovering content from DVD disks?
A few DVD-R VOB files cannot be read from disk by Windows. Probably the camera failed to burn it correctly.
What I want to achieve is to skip a few invalid frames in VOB files and recreate proper MPEG stream - without re-encoding whole stream and loosing the quality.
I want to connect to my vmware vm from home.
To work network i'm connecting through VPN.
VM sits on one of the workstations (can connect to it through RDC).
Any tips how to do that? What software do i need (got VMWare workstation atm)?
p.s. i'm quite a newbie at this.
I was listening to some older mp3s today and I released that some of my songs have pops and cracks in them. I assume this means that the file has some bad blocks.
Is there software/script/etc that I can run on my entire library and find the music with these artifacts?
Thanks!
The drive is a Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB.
There are no SMART errors and the drive sounds healthy.
Restarted the computer from the drive working fine and then noticed that the drive had the same drive letter but has RAW as the file system.
I have a few file/partition recovery software titles available but since doing any scans on this drive takes about 2.5 hours I wanted to know if any one had any advice.
I am attempting to login from a Linux client to a set top box running Linux via a USB to serial cable. When I power on the device, I can see the init messages scroll past, and I get to the login prompt, like this:
(none) login:
but I cannot login. The cursor stops flashing as if it is receiving input, but there is no response.
My serial port setup is:
Device: /dev/ttyUSB0
Bps: 115200 8N1
Hardware Flow Control: Yes
Software Flow Control: No
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have set up a windows 2008 R2 server to route email from Exchange 2010 using SMTP Server in IIS.
I have 3 seperate domains and would like to route each one through a different internal and external IP for (IP Reputation etc), at the minute it is only using the primary IP on the server to route email externally.
Is this at all possible using SMTP Server in IIS, or is there any other software available to do this?
There is a router between the modem and the server. In the admin panel, I use single-port forward
Internal Port External Port IP
80 80 to 192.168.1.100 (Web Server)
Basically, I'm not on site, and there is a local IT person who is supposed to have this ready. I saw the port forward page, and it was configured as described above.
So my question is, the only other thing it could be is firewall software, or some other device on the network that their not telling me about, right?
I'm taking a music composition course and it's highly recommended we grab some software for music composition, the two most popular being Sibelius and Finale. They aren't overly pricey, as both have student versions, but I was wondering if anyone knew of some good free music composition programs.
Thanks
When I type in the standard web address for my site, I get a 403 error. However, when I type in a more exact address, say pointing to an index.php file, everything shows up fine.
I'm using Anodyne Productions' Nova (SMS 3) which uses codeignitor. All accompanying software (PHP/MySQL) is compatible.
I'm not a very technical person, so I'm hoping that this is an easy fix.
Thanks for taking the time to answer.
Hi,
as I understand running VMware or other virtualizations requires a "host os".
Normally this is one of your main os-es, that you really use.
What I would like is a mini-linux and virtualization software pre-wrapped into a specialized bootalble, installable mini-os. So the linux would not have a webserver, nor X, just the minimum to run as a host OS and of course optimized for that, like some partitioning tools and such.
Hi
We have a windows server that has been running for a few years, it has the Java runtime installed, which is purely used for the Dell software. Over the years various updates have been applied filling up the c:\ drive. the updates are about 200Mb each, and there seem to be a few jre.. folder in the Program File/Java folder. Can I delete some of the older ones? any ideas?
I have bunch of Chinese .wav files on my hard disk that I'm trying to convert into .mp3 with Audacity but it appear that Audacity can not read Chinese character songs but the .wav file display correctly on my 32 bits Win7 Ultimate(English) pc.
I have to rename these Chinese character songs into English file name in order to convert them.
Does anyone know if there is any software (prefer open source) that will take Chinese character file name(.wav) and convert it into .mp3 without renaming the file?
Hi, we have some issues with a client-server based application and we would like to better understand client-server communication without going to the software company that sold the application. At least we would like to perform the analysis in parallel.
Can you suggest to me a dummy proof application that we can easily get and install to analyze client-server traffic?
Many thanks!
I have 2 printers.
HP Deskjet F2235 - designated scanner (has printing issues)
Brother HL-2040 - designated printer (doesn't have a scanner)
Just by using those two both connected to the same computer, is there a way to perform a photocopy operation by scanning via the designated scanner then immediately it being printed from the designated printer?
Obviously you could save the scanned files then print them, but short of making a script or manually doing this, is there a faster automatic way through settings or third-party software?
I don't really know how did I get to download and install this software. But when I search it in google, the site has a red mark(wot).
Is it bad for the computer? does it install spyware and viruses
If someone knows a software with these features:
Works from the tray area
Very lightweight
Works also in Windows XP (preferably workstation, nothing serverish required)
Can show a bandwidth usage graph, where I can easily see each PC's usage
I can inspect a computer's connections, find out the ports and applications that are using them (eg, all bandwidth is consumed by PC #3, that's running uTorrent.exe from port 33003)
...I'd happily check it out. I'm only sharing my connection with (at most) 4 computers, I'd prefer not having to add hardware or reinstall my system. Thanks in advance!
I have recently installed cuteflow (a PHP based document circulation application) on my machine as I need to customize this software. I have XAMPP 1.7.1 running on a windows xp machine on which this application is deployed. While all my other applications that are running on XAMPP are loading fast, only this application is taking exorbitant amount of time.
The same cuteflow application is running very well on my colleagues machines.
I would like to get a text dump of the screen you see when running services.msc (except the Description column). This is so I can run a diff after installing different software that adds services to this screen.
Is this possible?
If it's helpful I have access to Powershell but don't know how to retrieve this type of information from it.
I have two PCs (different specs) with the latest Windows Vista and Safari 4 updates installed. In one machine, Safari 4 works great but in the other, it starts up slowly (less than a minute though) with harddisk sound indicating data access activities.
I have cleared all internet caches and I am quite sure that there is no virus in both machines. Are there any other reasons that Safari performances are so different in comparably similar software and hardware environments?
The problem is the following: I have a camera D-Link securicam dcs-2121 (http://www.dlink.com.sg/products/?idproduct=310) it has its own web-server and works perfectly with a few connected users, but what I want is to make a lot amount of users able to connect and watch videostream, built-in server can't get trough many connections. So I need to translate stream to any external server and broadcast from it. What software or maybe service I need to use to this effect? thanks.
