• What resources to look to in order to write an emulator for iPhoneOS?

- by Roman Kagan
What are available resources I should look to in order to write an emulator for iPhoneOS? I'd like to write an emulator to run applications written for MacOS. I understand that I won't be able to use file system and other OS resources. I do have an SDK, XCode and all documentation for those resources, but I wonder if I can find some examples (perhaps similar to the emulator that can run Ninetendo games on iPhone)?

• OpenXML - using Excel sheet as template vs. a "real" Excel template

- by marc_s
Does anyone have any good answer what kind of difference there is between using some arbitrary pre-formatted Excel 2007 *.xlsx file as a template, loading it in my C# app, and filling up some of its cells with data using the Microsoft OpenXML SDK versus creating specific Excel templates (*.xltx) files and using those as basis for my "data filling" exercise Do I loose something when I don't use the Excel templates (*.xltx)? If so - what do I loose?

• Merge documents

- by Jelle
I'm trying to merge two docx-documents into one docx-document using OpenXML SDK 2.0. The documents should be merged without loosing their styling and custom headers and footers. I hope I can achieve this using AltChunk and a section break. But I can't get it working. Is it possible what I'm trying to do? Can someone give me a hint how to achieve this?

Now the Official facebook connect for Android is out, but there are about 11 big time issues and it fails almost all the time, so its not a real solution. http://github.com/facebook/facebook-android-sdk/ Any idea how to resolve this issue? We explored trac but seems it lack good support for multiple projects. The tool will be installed in our internal host and cannot use hosted service. A java based tool will be ideal.

• Google map - How to escape charaters in the title of a marker in a google map?

- by Anthony
Say have this piece of code: var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: location, title: 'Búfals', map: map }); This creates a marker as expected but if I hover the mouse over it I don’t see 'Búfals' as I would expect (instead I see the html code). This doesn't make any difference: var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: location, title: unescape('Búfals'), map: map }); Any ideas? Thanks.

Anyone have numbers on how many machines / % of internet uses have Google Native Client? I'm curious about google NaCL as a platform: it seems to combine the best of the web (just a webpage, accessible on any machine) and desktop apps (OpenGL, C/C++ power). The only question is -- what percent of the world actually use it. Anyone have data on this? Thanks!

• Android: Learning the platform, have any app suggestions?

- by David
I'm beginning to learn mobile programming on the Android platform. I'm up for working with any particular base SDK. I just want to hear some suggestions from the community about what types of applications I should start with to help learn more advanced interactions with the platform. There are of course the Standard Hello World, calculator, etc. But by now I am bored with all of those. What do you all make when learning a new language?

• In Android OS or Java, what's the difference between a character sequence and a string????

- by K-RAN
For the API (Android SDK API version 8) functions whose definitions list character sequence parameters, I can feed the function String instead. Best part is that they work the same way, no hassle, no warnings. Is there a difference between the two types? And more importantly, is there an inherent danger if I send the function a String instead of a character sequence??? Thanks for any clarifications!!! :D
