  • DRUPAL: JQuery Media module: flash video player doesn't work

    - by Patrick
hi, I'm using JQuery Media module to integrate my own flash video player with Drupal website. I've tested everything on a local drupal installation and it works great. However I've updated an online drupal website and the player is not used. I can only see this message: "Use SwfTools Module to play FLV files if you only convert/upload FLV videos or FlowPlayer Module must be enabled in order to play FLV videos with other types." thanks

  • triggering an event with jQuery live or delegate

    - by patrick
I'd like to attach a handler to an element using either jQuery live() or delegate(). Looking at the docs I see I can attach the handler for a custom event. Is this possible for either of these jQuery functions to also trigger the handler? Basically I want to attach the handler function and run call it once. Thank you for any help.

  • How can I call `update_attribute` for a list item in rails then actually update the html using jquery?

    - by Patrick Connor
I want my users to be able to mark one or more items from an index view as "Active" or "Inactive" using a link. The text for the link should be state aware - so it might default to "Mark as Active" if the corresponding attribute was false or null, and "Mark as Inactive" if true. Once the user clicks the link and the attribute is updated in the controller, the link-text should update based on the new state. I am WAY off here, but this is a small sample of the code I have been trying... CONTROLLER ... respond_to :html, :js ... def update @item = Item.find(params[:id]) if @item.update_attributes(params[:item]) #Not sure of how to respond to .js here end end ... update.js.erb #how do I identify which element to update? $('#item[13456]').html("State aware text for link_to") VIEW - for item in @items = item.name = link_to "Mark as Active", item_path(item), :method => :put, :remote => true. :id => "item[#{item.id}]" I am happy to read any APIs, blogs, tutorials, etc. I just can't seem to get my hands/mind around this task. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!

  • Python - network buffer handling question...

    - by Patrick Moriarty
Hi, I want to design a game server in python. The game will mostly just be passing small packets filled with ints, strings, and bytes stuffed into one message. As I'm using a different language to write the game, a normal packet would be sent like so: Writebyte(buffer, 5); // Delimit type of message Writestring(buffer, "Hello"); Sendmessage(buffer, socket); As you can see, it writes the bytes to the buffer, and sends the buffer. Is there any way to read something like this in python? I am aware of the struct module, and I've used it to pack things, but I've never used it to actually read something with mixed types stuck into one message. Thanks for the help.

  • Can someone explain this java interface to me please?

    - by Karl Patrick
    I realize that the method run must be declared because its declared in the runnable interface. But my question comes when this class runs how is the Thread object allowed if there is no import call to a particular package? how does runnable know anything about Thread or its methods? does the runnable interface extend the thread class? Obviously i dont understand interfaces very well. thanks in advance. class PrimeFinder implements Runnable{ public long target; public long prime; public boolean finished = false; public Thread runner; PrimeFinder(long inTarget){ target = inTarget; if(runner == null){ runner = new Thread(this); runner.start() } } public void run(){ } }

  • Drupal: how to apply plugins to modal lightbox content

    - by Patrick
hi, I'm using a lightbox on a page of my website to display my nodes. I'm using some plugins such as an external simpletooltips plugin and the drupal plugin jQuery Media (to load flash video player for some video file-fields). All this stuff stop to work for the content of the lightbox, I guess because the content is not parsed... how can I solve this ? Should I trigger the plugins again ? Thanks

  • jQuery: submit a form when the checkbox is selected

    - by Patrick
hi, I have a form, and I want automatically to update it when I click on a checkbox. This is my current code: $('.option img').click(function() { $("#views-exposed-form-Portfolio-page-1").submit(); }); However, the selected checkbox is not stored before the form is submitted, and so the selection has not effect. thanks

  • Rails: include index with fields_for form helper

    - by Patrick Oscity
    i'm trying to build two models from one form by using the fields_for method. my code looks like this: <% for scale in @event.scales %> <% f.fields_for "scale[]", scale do |scale_form| %> <p> Scale<br /> <%= scale_form.label :name %> <%= scale_form.text_field :name %> <%= scale_form.label :price %> <%= scale_form.text_field :price %> </p> <% end %> <% end %> but unfortunately the output html is missing the id's of the scales: <p> Scale<br /> <label for="event_scale__name">Name</label> <input id="event_scale__name" name="event[scale][][name]" size="30" type="text" /> <label for="event_scale__price">Price</label> <input id="event_scale__price" name="event[scale][][price]" size="30" type="text" /> </p> ... here's the corresponding controller and model: class EventsController < ApplicationController ... def new @event = Event.new @providers = Provider.find(:all, :order => :name) 3.times { @event.scales.build } respond_to do |format| format.html end end ... end class Event < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :scales ... end what am i doing wrong?

  • Convert a complicated string into an array in php

    - by Patrick Beardmore
I have a php variable that comes from a form that needs tidying up. I hope you can help. The variable contains a list of items (possibly two or three word items with a space in between words). I want to convert it to a comma separated list with no superfluous white space. I want the divisions to fall only at commas, semi-colons or new-lines. Blank cannot be an item. Here's a comprehensive example (with a deliberately messy input): Variable In: "dog, cat ,car, tea pot,, ,,, ;;(++NEW LINE++)fly, cake" Variable Out "dog, cat, car, tea pot, fly, cake" Can anyone help?

  • Windows service Null ReferenceException

    - by Patrick
I built a windows service on my local machine. when I install and run it locally it works perfectly fine. When I try to move it to my production machine I get a null reference exception error. I've created an installation package that also works perfectly fine on my machine, but when i run it on the production machine the service still fails. The service references a .dll that in turn has references to 3 other dlls. when i build the project it pulls all of the dlls into the debug folder for the project... I've even installed the service from that folder and it works localy on my machine. I know this has to have something to do with the references, but this is beyond me. Any tips/hints would be appreciated.

  • Dealing with &rest-parameters in common lisp

    - by Patrick
I want define a functions that accepts &rest - parameters and delegates them to another function. (html "blah" "foo" baz) = "blahfoobaz" I did not find a better way than this one: (defun html (&rest values) (concatenate 'string "" (reduce #'(lambda(a b) (concatenate 'string a b)) values :initial-value "") "")) But this looks somewhat glumbsy to me, since line 4 does no more than concatenating the &rest parameter "values". I tried (concatenate 'string "" (values-list values) "") but this does not seem to work (SBCL). Could someone give me an advice? Kind regards

  • How to save an image in it's original format?

    - by Patrick Klug
I am trying to figure out how I can get the original format of an image so that I can store it with the same encoding. It seems that the only way to save an Image is by using a BitmapEncoder but I don't know how I can get the correct format from the image. Example: Clipboard.GetImage() returns a InteropBitmap which doesn't seem to contain any information about the original format. I also tried using an Extension method: public static void Save(this BitmapImage image, System.IO.Stream stream) { var decoder = BitmapDecoder.Create(image.StreamSource, BitmapCreateOptions.PreservePixelFormat, BitmapCacheOption.Default); var encoder = BitmapEncoder.Create(decoder.CodecInfo.ContainerFormat); foreach (var frame in decoder.Frames) { encoder.Frames.Add(BitmapFrame.Create(decoder.Frames[0])); } encoder.Save(stream); } but the problem is that a) the ImageSource is not always a BitmapImage (Clipboard.GetImage()) for example and b) the image.StreamSource can be null in some cases (seems to be when the image is loaded via a relative Uri)

  • HTML+CSS+Javascript: hi, I'm getting crazy with this

    - by Patrick
hi, I'm getting crazy with some browsers fixes to do everytime I'm doing a new website. For example, lately I've built my own Flash Video Player and I lost hours to fix some problems such as aligning it in IE and Firefox and Safari. Would be so cool to have a intermediary layer, I could use to design my website, without taking care of all browsers fixes... I guess I'm a dreamer

  • Select rows from table1 and all the children from table2 into an object

    - by Patrick
I want to pull data from table "Province_Notifiers" and also fetch all corresponding items from table "Province_Notifier_Datas". The table "Province_Notifier" has a guid to identify it (PK), table "Province_Notifier_Datas" has a column called BelongsToProvinceID witch is a foreign key to the "Province_Notifier" tables guid. I tried something like this: var records = from data in ctx.Province_Notifiers where DateTime. Now >= data.SendTime && data.Sent == false join data2 in ctx.Province_Notifier_Datas on data.Province_ID equals data2.BelongsToProvince_ID select new Province_Notifier { Email = data.Email, Province_ID = data.Province_ID, ProvinceName = data.ProvinceName, Sent = data.Sent, UserName = data.UserName, User_ID = data.User_ID, Province_Notifier_Datas = (new List<Province_Notifier_Data>().AddRange(data2)) }; This line is not working and i am trying to figure out how topull the data from table2 into that Province_Notifier_Datas variable. Province_Notifier_Datas = (new List<Province_Notifier_Data>().AddRange(data2)) I can add a record easily by adding the second table row into the Province_Notifier_Datas but i can't fetch it back. Province_Notifier dbNotifier = new Province_Notifier(); // set some values for dbNotifier dbNotifier.Province_Notifier_Datas.Add( new Province_Notifier_Data { BelongsToProvince_ID = userInput.Value.ProvinceId, EventText = GenerateNotificationDetail(notifierDetail) }); This works and inserts the data correctly into both tables. Edit: These error messages is thrown: Cannot convert from 'Province_Notifier_Data' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable' If i look in Visual Studio, the variable "Province_Notifier_Datas" is of type System.Data.Linq.EntitySet The best overloaded method match for 'System.Collections.Generic.List.AddRange(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable)' has some invalid arguments Edit: var records = from data in ctx.Province_Notifiers where DateTime. Now >= data.SendTime && data.Sent == false join data2 in ctx.Province_Notifier_Datas on data.Province_ID equals data2.BelongsToProvince_ID into data2list select new Province_Notifier { Email = data.Email, Province_ID = data.Province_ID, ProvinceName = data.ProvinceName, Sent = data.Sent, UserName = data.UserName, User_ID = data.User_ID, Province_Notifier_Datas = new EntitySet<Province_Notifier_Data>().AddRange(data2List) }; Error 3 The name 'data2List' does not exist in the current context.

  • Drupal, Lightbox: cannot edit the content inside

    - by Patrick
hi, I'm using Drupal and Lightbox module to display the content of articles in this website: donatellabernardi.ch/drupal if you click on an article the lightbox is displayed. However I have 2 problems with it: 1) I cannot use the libraries such as the tooltip library qTip from it. (If you move the mouse over the balls, you'll see the tooltips) 2) I cannot invert the title with the balls (tags), because it seems that the template of the node in the lightbox is not controlled by my theme. I tried also to change the node template (in the drupal root folder), swapping title and meta data but it didn't work. thanks

  • Getting 404 in Android app while trying to get xml from localhost

    - by Patrick
This must be something really stupid, trying to solve this issue for a couple of days now and it's really not working. I searched everywhere and there probably is someone with the same problem, but I can't seem to find it. I'm working on an Android app and this app pulls some xml from a website. Since this website is down a lot, I decided to save it and run it locally. Now what I did; - I downloaded the kWs app for hosting the downloaded xml file - I put the file in the right directory and could access it through the mobile browser, but not with my app (same code as I used with pulling it from some other website, not hosted by me, only difference was the URL obviously) So I tried to host it on my PC and access it with my app from there. Again the same results, the mobile browsers had no problem finding it, but the app kept saying 404 Not Found: "The requested URL /test.xml&parama=Someone&paramb= was not found on this server." Note: Don't mind the 2 parameters I am sending, I needed that to get the right stuff from the website that wasn't hosted by me. My code: public String getStuff(String name){ String URL = "http://10.0.0.8/test.xml"; ArrayList<NameValuePair> params = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(2); params.add(new BasicNameValuePair("parama", name)); params.add(new BasicNameValuePair("paramb", "")); APIRequest request = new APIRequest(URL, params); try { RequestXML rxml = new RequestXML(); AsyncTask<APIRequest, Void, String> a = rxml.execute(request); ... } catch(Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return null; } That should be working correctly. Now the RequestXML class part: class RequestXML extends AsyncTask<APIRequest, Void, String>{ @Override protected String doInBackground(APIRequest... uri) { HttpClient httpclient = new DefaultHttpClient(); String completeUrl = uri[0].url; // ... Add parameters to URL ... HttpGet request = null; try { request = new HttpGet(new URI(completeUrl)); } catch (URISyntaxException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } HttpResponse response; String responseString = ""; try { response = httpclient.execute(request); StatusLine statusLine = response.getStatusLine(); if(statusLine.getStatusCode() == HttpStatus.SC_OK){ // .. It crashes here, because statusLine.getStatusCode() returns a 404 instead of a 200. The xml is just plain xml, nothing special about it. I changed the contents of the .htaccess file into "ALLOW FROM ALL" (works, cause the browser on my mobile device can access it and shows the correct xml). I am running Android 4.0.4 and I am using the default browser AND chrome on my mobile device. I am using MoWeS to host the website on my PC. Any help would be appreciated and if you need to know anything before you can find an answer to this problem, I'll be more than happy to give you that info. Thank you for you time! Cheers.
