Mono mkbundle issue

Hello,
I am trying to bundle mono runtime with a C# a simple (console) program that does nothing, but 'hello world'.
Got Cygwin, configured it all, though it fails:
$ mkbundle -o x2 x.exe --deps -z

Tried post with similar problem to mine here, but it didn't work either.
My configuration:
Windows 7 64bit
Mono 2.8.1
Latest Cygwin
Not sure what's the story here.
Help appreciated.
