Does anyone know of some good Mac software to sync a network attached storage device or a drobo to Amazon S3?
I'd love to mail them a storage device for the first dump and then do nightly syncs.
I love windows 7 explorer sidebar on left. Is there any tool that can add the same function to XP.
Libraries may not be possible but favourites in sidebar do save lot of time.
Hi,
I am looking for a graphic that supports Eyefinity, but with lower power. What I mean by "lower power" is lower performance and lower power literally. I don't need performance and heat of ATI 5 Series, but I love their multi-monitor supports and price range.
What options do I have?
I upload images to Imgur quite often. I'd love to be able to right-click on an image, select Send To/Imgur and shoot the file up to Imgur.
Does something like this exists?
I love idea of TextMate that any directory opened in it is already a project. But sometimes I it would be good to ignore files for certain dir and I don't like idea of creating project file in that dir or remembering how I named project file in some special folder like ~/.tmproject. Is there some sort of plugin or something like this which will allow me to ignore files in dir? Perfect solution would be reading .gitignore file.
Is it possible to use SFTP on Linux and restrict a user account to ONE directory such that no other directory listing can be obtained? Yes, I must use SFTP, FTP is only used by people that love getting hacked.
For instance I want someone to modify files in /var/www/code/ but I don't want them to be able modify anything else. I don't even want them to see the contents /tmp/.
(I will accept a "quick and dirty" solution, as long as it is secure.)
I've "Bridged" the NIC's in my Server 2003 box but when I do a large file transfer, I see that only one is active at a time.
What do I need to do to spread the love across both NIC's? I'm hoping to increase transfer speeds from my Server to my network.
PS: I have a D-Link DGS-1016D Switch.
When does the firmware actually get reflashed? Next time the server is restarted? I don't want to interrupt services but I'd love to get the latest update out of the way. (It fixes read/writes for small blocks).. good for MSSQL.
This is a LSI MegaRAID 9260-8i card, if it makes any difference.
I've been intrested in this for a while I love the way that facebook tags photos. I think picasa web is a better system but not as easy to use.
I know i can geo-tag my photo files but is there a way to mark who in the photo and where in the photo they are?
Is there any standard way to do this?
I'm a happy owner of a hackintosh-ed Dell Mini 9. I would love to hear the success stories from other people who have managed to install Mac OS X successfully on other brands and models of netbooks.
"Exceptionally friendly" here is defined as having, at minimum, fully functioning wireless, sound and graphics when installed with an unmodified version of OS X Leopard.
I love NetBeans and its auto-completion features. However, I wish the IDE stops suggesting variable names. For example, when I type "bool myVar" and a space, I ended up with "bool myVarB". The extra "B" suffix drives me nut. How can I turn off this behavior? I appreciate your help.
I'd love to get some help with my unicorn, the damned thing just won't respond to my commands. It's a standard white unicorn with with a white mane. I've tried giving it hay, carrots and sugar cubes, but it's still refusing to do what I ask. I've read on other sites that I may need to reshoe her, but I'd rather not if I don't have to.
Thanks for any help.
I'd love to use something with the Gmail interface for my work (Exchange) e-mails, and I don't exactly carry enough weight to convince the entire company to switch to Google Apps.
With that in mind, ss there a local, not-in-the-cloud web client that supports IMAP or POP3 and has the look and feel of Gmail's web interface? (that works on Windows XP).

I've recently repurposed an old machine that I had laying around (custom built several years ago with miscellaneous parts) as a simple media center with an Ubuntu 8.10 operating system and Boxee as its front end, and I absolutely love it. I'm particularly intrigued by the custom applications that are possible, and I wanted to start a running list of recommended apps for it.
So, my question is this: what Boxee apps do you recommend, and why? One app per answer, please.
What are some good and free usenet servers out there, for accessing non-binaries groups, available to the general public ?
I'm particularly interested in the comp.* domain.
p.s. No. As much as I love Google, Google groups just don't cut it in this segment.
I love the whole "one inbox" concept on my blackberry. Facebook updates, SMS/MMS messages, and email all lands in the same list. Problem is they assume I have a simple Gmail account without multiple accounts. I have my Gmail account setup to receive email from ~15 different accounts. I assume a lot of tech people do something like this. How have you gotten around in?

What is the best software to help record the auido of MagicJack? I would love to record audio off of conference calls.
This question is for both Windows and Macs.
My google reader login is the same as that for gmail. I'd love to use a native app that syncs across platforms, but am a bit paranoid about protecting gmail. Are there any security measures in place? Or do I just have to trust the app developers?
I've realized that Vim makes some basic tasks very efficient (cutting, deleting, pasting...) I would love to have those features in a word processor. Does anyone know one (I prefer open source).
Hello, I love iPython, but I dislike the bright green and red prompt colours, and the all the various colours whenever there are error messages.
Is there any way to customize these? Neither the beige nor the linux colour set suits my needs.
This is something that's always bothered me, so I'll ask the serverfault community.
I love me some Process Explorer for keeping track of more than just the high-level tasks you get in the Task Manager. But I constantly want to know which of those dozen services hosted in a single process under svchost is making my processor spike.
So... is there any non-intrusive way to find this information out?
Is there any calendar for Windows that comes close to the iPad calendar UI sweetness? I'm tempted to get an iPad solely for the calendar app, but would love a Windows alternative if I can find one...
I know of FireShot, a firefox extension, for saving up whole pages of images. And I love it. Great idea, and a very good implementation.
But unfortunatelly, often on this kind of sites, you have links which get lost that way. So I'm wondering, is there a way to save in the same manner whole blog posts, wiki posts, StackOverflow posts :), as PDF files, so the links get saved as well ?
