  • Spring MVC parameter validation

    - by Don
    Hi, I've defined a controller, validator and command class for a Spring 2.5 MVC application like this: public class ResourceController extends AbstractCommandController { private MessageRetriever messageRetriever; protected ModelAndView handle(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response, Object command, BindException errors) throws Exception { ResourceCommand resourceCommand = (ResourceCommand) command; // I NEED TO CHECK HERE IF COMMAND IS VALID? } public static class ResourceCommand { private String module; private String site; private String lang; // GETTERS AND SETTERS OMITTED } public static class ResourceValidator implements Validator { public boolean supports(Class clazz) { return ResourceCommand.class.isAssignableFrom(clazz); } public void validate(Object obj, Errors errors) { ValidationUtils.rejectIfEmptyOrWhitespace(errors, "module", "MODULE_REQUIRED"); ValidationUtils.rejectIfEmptyOrWhitespace(errors, "site", "SITE_REQUIRED"); ValidationUtils.rejectIfEmptyOrWhitespace(errors, "lang", "LANG_REQUIRED"); } } } I have wired these all together in the application context: <bean id="resourceController" class="com.amadeus.jcp.ui.framework.localization.ResourceController"> <property name="commandClass" value="com.amadeus.jcp.ui.framework.localization.ResourceController.ResourceCommand"/> <property name="validator"> <bean class="com.amadeus.jcp.ui.framework.localization.ResourceController.ResourceValidator"/> </property> </bean> However, I can't figure out how to actually check whether the command is valid or not - I assume the framework calls the validator, but how do I get access to the result? Incidentally, I'm using Java 1.4, so can't use any solutions that require annotations or other Java 1.5 features. Thanks, Don

  • How to download images in playframework jobs?

    - by MrROY
    I have a playframework Job class like this: public class ImageDownloader extends Job { private String[] urls; private String dir; public ImageDownloader(){} public ImageDownloader(String[] urls,String dir){ this.urls = urls; this.dir = dir; } @Override public void doJob() throws Exception { if(urls!=null && urls.length > 0){ for (int i = 0; i < urls.length; i++) { String url = urls[i]; //Dowloading } } } } Play(1.2.4) has lots of amazing tools to make things easy. So i wonder whether there's a way to make the downloading easy and beautiful in play ?

  • Mock versus Implementation. How to share both approaches in a single Test class ?

    - by Arthur Ronald F D Garcia
    Hi, See the following Mock Test by using Spring/Spring-MVC public class OrderTest { // SimpleFormController private OrderController controller; private OrderService service; private MockHttpServletRequest request; @BeforeMethod public void setUp() { request = new MockHttpServletRequest(); request.setMethod("POST"); Integer orderNumber = 421; Order order = new Order(orderNumber); // Set up a Mock service service = createMock(OrderService.class); service.save(order); replay(service); controller = new OrderController(); controller.setService(service); controller.setValidator(new OrderValidator()); request.addParameter("orderNumber", String.valueOf(orderNumber)); } @Test public void successSave() { controller.handleRequest(request, new MockHttpServletResponse()); // Our OrderService has been called by our controller verify(service); } @Test public void failureSave() { // Ops... our orderNumber is required request.removeAllParameters(); ModelAndView mav = controller.handleRequest(request, new MockHttpServletResponse()); BindingResult bindException = (BindingResult) mav.getModel().get(BindingResult.MODEL_KEY_PREFIX + "command"); assertEquals("Our Validator has thrown one FieldError", bindException.getAllErrors(), 1); } } As you can see, i do as proposed by Triple A pattern Arrange (setUp method) Act (controller.handleRequest) Assert (verify and assertEquals) But i would like to test both Mock and Implementation class (OrderService) by using this single Test class. So in order to retrieve my Implementation, i re-write my class as follows @ContextConfiguration(locations="/app.xml") public class OrderTest extends AbstractTestNGSpringContextTests { } So how should i write my single test to Arrange both Mock and Implementation OrderService without change my Test method (sucessSave and failureSave) I am using TestNG, but you can show in JUnit if you want regards,

    - by Neir0
    Hi, I have a class public class Foo { public List<string> list1 { get; set;} public List<string> list2 { get; set; } public string url; } and a ListView with two columns <ListView Name="listview" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="list1" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=list1}" /> <GridViewColumn Header="list2" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=list2}" /> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> How i can to bind instance of Foo class to ListView? Here i set DataContext listview.DataContext = new Foo() { list1 = new[] { "dsfasd", "asdfasdf", "asdf", "asdfasd" }.ToList(), list2 = new[] { "dsfasd", "asdfasdf", "asdf", "asdfasd" }.ToList() }; But it's not work.

  • JSF:Resourcebundle Problem with Internationalization

    - by Sven
    I implemented internationalization like in that tutorial! When I change the language in my app. It works. But only until the next request happens. Then language settings are reset to my standard language -.- What am I missing here: LanguageBean.java @ManagedBean(name="language") @SessionScoped public class LanguageBean implements Serializable{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private String localeCode; private static Map<String,Object> countries; static{ countries = new LinkedHashMap<String,Object>(); countries.put("Deutsch", Locale.GERMAN); //label, value countries.put("English", Locale.ENGLISH); } public Map<String, Object> getCountriesInMap() { return countries; } public String getLocaleCode() { return localeCode; } public void setLocaleCode(String localeCode) { this.localeCode = localeCode; } //value change event listener public void countryLocaleCodeChanged(ValueChangeEvent e){ String newLocaleValue = e.getNewValue().toString(); //loop country map to compare the locale code for (Map.Entry<String, Object> entry : countries.entrySet()) { if(entry.getValue().toString().equals(newLocaleValue)){ FacesContext.getCurrentInstance() .getViewRoot().setLocale((Locale)entry.getValue()); } } } } my facelets template: <h:selectOneMenu value="#{language.localeCode}" onchange="submit()" valueChangeListener="#{language.countryLocaleCodeChanged}"> <f:selectItems value="#{language.countriesInMap}" /> </h:selectOneMenu> faces-config: <application> <locale-config> <default-locale>de</default-locale> </locale-config> <resource-bundle> <base-name>org.dhbw.stg.wwi2008c.mopro.ui.text</base-name> <var>msg</var> </resource-bundle> </application>

  • Splitting a test to a set of smaller tests

    - by mkorpela
    I want to be able to split a big test to smaller tests so that when the smaller tests pass they imply that the big test would also pass (so there is no reason to run the original big test). I want to do this because smaller tests usually take less time, less effort and are less fragile. I would like to know if there are test design patterns or verification tools that can help me to achieve this test splitting in a robust way. I fear that the connection between the smaller tests and the original test is lost when someone changes something in the set of smaller tests. Another fear is that the set of smaller tests doesn't really cover the big test. An example of what I am aiming at: //Class under test class A { public void setB(B b){ this.b = b; } public Output process(Input i){ return b.process(doMyProcessing(i)); } private InputFromA doMyProcessing(Input i){ .. } .. } //Another class under test class B { public Output process(InputFromA i){ .. } .. } //The Big Test @Test public void theBigTest(){ A systemUnderTest = createSystemUnderTest(); // <-- expect that this is expensive Input i = createInput(); Output o = systemUnderTest.process(i); // <-- .. or expect that this is expensive assertEquals(o, expectedOutput()); } //The splitted tests @PartlyDefines("theBigTest") // <-- so something like this should come from the tool.. @Test public void smallerTest1(){ // this method is a bit too long but its just an example.. Input i = createInput(); InputFromA x = expectedInputFromA(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow Output expected = expectedOutput(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow B b = mock(B.class); when(b.process(x)).thenReturn(expected); A classUnderTest = createInstanceOfClassA(); classUnderTest.setB(b); Output o = classUnderTest.process(i); assertEquals(o, expected); verify(b).process(x); verifyNoMoreInteractions(b); } @PartlyDefines("theBigTest") // <-- so something like this should come from the tool.. @Test public void smallerTest2(){ InputFromA x = expectedInputFromA(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow Output expected = expectedOutput(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow B classUnderTest = createInstanceOfClassB(); Output o = classUnderTest.process(x); assertEquals(o, expected); }

  • Help with chat server

    - by mithun1538
    I am designing a chat server in java. The communication is Http based and not socket based. In the client side I have an applet. In the server side I have a servlet. Applet: I create a new thread to listen for incoming messages(GET method). The main thread is used to send messages(POST messages). The partial code is : public void start() { System.out.println("Creating new thread"); Thread thread = new Thread(this); thread.start(); } private String getNewMessage() { System.out.println("Inside getNewMessage"); String msg = null; try { while(msg == null) { System.out.println("Trying to listen to servlet"); URL servlet = new URL(getCodeBase(), "NewServlet?mode=msg"); URLConnection con = servlet.openConnection(); con.setUseCaches(false); DataInputStream din = new DataInputStream(new BufferedInputStream(con.getInputStream())); msg = din.readUTF(); System.out.println("message read :" + msg); } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return msg + "\n"; } public void run() { System.out.println("Inside new thread"); while(true) { System.out.println("inside first while"); String newMsg = getNewMessage(); chatOutput.append(newMsg); System.out.println("Appended!!"); } } private void jButton1ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { String message = chatInput.getText(); chatInput.setText(""); chatOutput.append(message + "\n"); try { System.out.println("Trying to send msg :" + message); URL url = new URL(getCodeBase(), "NewServlet"); URLConnection servletConnection = url.openConnection(); servletConnection.setDoInput(true); servletConnection.setDoOutput(true); servletConnection.setUseCaches(false); servletConnection.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", "application/octet-stream"); ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutputStream(servletConnection.getOutputStream()); out.writeObject(message); out.flush(); out.close(); System.out.println("Message sent!"); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } This next code is from the servlet side. it uses the Observable interface to identify and send messages to clients. public class NewServlet extends HttpServlet { // getNextMessage() returns the next new message. // It blocks until there is one. public String getNextMessage() { // Create a message sink to wait for a new message from the // message source. System.out.println("inside getNextMessage"); return new MessageSink().getNextMessage(source);} @Override protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { System.out.println("Inside Doget"); response.setContentType("text/plain"); PrintWriter out = response.getWriter(); out.println(getNextMessage()); } // broadcastMessage() informs all currently listening clients that there // is a new message. Causes all calls to getNextMessage() to unblock. public void broadcastMessage(String message) { // Send the message to all the HTTP-connected clients by giving the // message to the message source source.sendMessage(message); } @Override protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { System.out.println("Inside DoPost"); try { ObjectInputStream din= new ObjectInputStream(request.getInputStream()); String message = (String)din.readObject(); System.out.println("received msg"); if (message != null) broadcastMessage(message); System.out.println("Called broadcast"); // Set the status code to indicate there will be no response response.setStatus(response.SC_NO_CONTENT); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } /** * Returns a short description of the servlet. * @return a String containing servlet description */ @Override public String getServletInfo() { return "Short description"; } MessageSource source = new MessageSource();} class MessageSource extends Observable { public void sendMessage(String message) { System.out.println("inside sendMsg"); setChanged(); notifyObservers(message); } } class MessageSink implements Observer { String message = null; // set by update() and read by getNextMessage() // Called by the message source when it gets a new message synchronized public void update(Observable o, Object arg) { // Get the new message message = (String)arg; // Wake up our waiting thread notify(); } // Gets the next message sent out from the message source synchronized public String getNextMessage(MessageSource source) { // Tell source we want to be told about new messages source.addObserver(this); System.out.println("AddedObserver"); // Wait until our update() method receives a message while (message == null) { try { wait(); } catch (Exception ignored) { } } // Tell source to stop telling us about new messages source.deleteObserver(this); // Now return the message we received // But first set the message instance variable to null // so update() and getNextMessage() can be called again. String messageCopy = message; message = null; System.out.println("Returning msg"); return messageCopy; } } As you can see I have included System.out.println("Some message"); in some places. this was just for debugging purposes. In java console, i get the following output: Creating new thread Inside new thread. inside first while. Inside getNewMessage. Trying to listen to servlet. In the servlet side, i get the following output in the tomcat logs: Inside Doget. inside getNextMessage. AddedObserver. After i type a message in the applet, and send it, I get the foll output in java console: Trying to send msg :you deR?? Message sent! But in servlet side, I dont get anything in the logs. I used the O'Reily Java Servlet Programming as reference(The observer interface comes from there). But I am not getting any chat communication between two clients. As can be understood from the logs, the POST method is not called. Any reason for this?

  • Java Generics name clash, method not correctly overriden

    - by Shervin
    Hi. I have seen different questions regarding this, but I still find this topic to be very confusing. All I want to do, is have an abstract class that implements an interface, and have a class extending this abstract class so that the hard class needs to implement getKommune() and setKommune(Kommune kommune), but not the other method, because that is in the abstract class. I have the following interface. public interface KommuneFilter { <E extends AbstractKommune<?>> void addKommuneFromCurrentUser(E e); Kommune getKommune(); void setKommune(Kommune kommune); } And this Abstract class public abstract class AbstractKommune<E extends AbstractKommune<?>> implements KommuneFilter { @PrePersist void addKommuneFromCurrentUser(E e) { } } And I want to use it like this public class Person extends AbstractKommune<Person> { private Kommune kommune; public void setKommune(Kommune kommune) {this.kommune=kommune;} public Kommune getKommune() {return kommune;} } However, I get Name clash: The method of has the same erasure of type but does not override it Why isn't it correctly overriden?

  • Invoke "internal extern" constructor using reflections

    - by Riz
    Hi, I have following class (as seen through reflector) public class W : IDisposable { public W(string s); public W(string s, byte[] data); // more constructors [MethodImpl(MethodImplOptions.InternalCall)] internal extern W(string s, int i); public static W Func(string s, int i); } I am trying to call "internal extern" constructor or Func using reflections MethodInfo dynMethod = typeof(W).GetMethod("Func", BindingFlags.Static); object[] argVals = new object[] { "hi", 1 }; dynMethod.Invoke(null, argVals); and Type type = typeof(W); Type[] argTypes = new Type[] { typeof(System.String), typeof(System.Int32) }; ConstructorInfo cInfo = type.GetConstructor(BindingFlags.InvokeMethod | BindingFlags.NonPublic, null, argTypes, null); object[] argVals = new object[] { "hi", 1 }; dynMethod.Invoke(null, argVals); unfortunantly both variants rise NullReferenceException when trying to Invoke, so, I must be doing something wrong?

  • How to enable OutputCache with an IHttpHandler

    - by Joseph Kingry
    I have an IHttpHandler that I would like to hook into the OutputCache support so I can offload cached data to the IIS kernel. I know MVC must do this somehow, I found this in OutputCacheAttribute: public override void OnResultExecuting(ResultExecutingContext filterContext) { if (filterContext == null) { throw new ArgumentNullException("filterContext"); } // we need to call ProcessRequest() since there's no other way to set the Page.Response intrinsic OutputCachedPage page = new OutputCachedPage(_cacheSettings); page.ProcessRequest(HttpContext.Current); } private sealed class OutputCachedPage : Page { private OutputCacheParameters _cacheSettings; public OutputCachedPage(OutputCacheParameters cacheSettings) { // Tracing requires Page IDs to be unique. ID = Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); _cacheSettings = cacheSettings; } protected override void FrameworkInitialize() { // when you put the <%@ OutputCache %> directive on a page, the generated code calls InitOutputCache() from here base.FrameworkInitialize(); InitOutputCache(_cacheSettings); } } But not sure how to apply this to an IHttpHandler. Tried something like this, but of course this doesn't work: public class CacheTest : IHttpHandler { public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { OutputCacheParameters p = new OutputCacheParameters { Duration = 3600, Enabled = true, VaryByParam = "none", Location = OutputCacheLocation.Server }; OutputCachedPage page = new OutputCachedPage(p); page.ProcessRequest(context); context.Response.ContentType = "text/plain"; context.Response.Write(DateTime.Now.ToString()); context.Response.End(); } public bool IsReusable { get { return true; } } }

  • Java synchronized seems ignored

    - by viraptor
    Hi, I've got the following code, which I expected to deadlock after printing out "Main: pre-sync". But it looks like synchronized doesn't do what I expect it to. What happens here? import java.util.*; public class deadtest { public static class waiter implements Runnable { Object obj; public waiter(Object obj) { this.obj = obj; } public void run() { System.err.println("Thead: pre-sync"); synchronized(obj) { System.err.println("Thead: pre-wait"); try { obj.wait(); } catch (Exception e) { } System.err.println("Thead: post-wait"); } System.err.println("Thead: post-sync"); } } public static void main(String args[]) { Object obj = new Object(); System.err.println("Main: pre-spawn"); Thread waiterThread = new Thread(new waiter(obj)); waiterThread.start(); try { Thread.sleep(1000); } catch (Exception e) { } System.err.println("Main: pre-sync"); synchronized(obj) { System.err.println("Main: pre-notify"); obj.notify(); System.err.println("Main: post-notify"); } System.err.println("Main: post-sync"); try { waiterThread.join(); } catch (Exception e) { } } } Since both threads synchronize on the created object, I expected the threads to actually block each other. Currently, the code happily notifies the other thread, joins and exits.

  • "no block given" errors with cache_money

    - by emh
    i've inherited a site that in production is generating dozens of "no block given" exceptions every 5 minutes. the top of the stack trace is: vendor/gems/nkallen-cache-money-0.2.5/lib/cash/accessor.rb:42:in `add' vendor/gems/nkallen-cache-money-0.2.5/lib/cash/accessor.rb:33:in `get' vendor/gems/nkallen-cache-money-0.2.5/lib/cash/accessor.rb:22:in `call' vendor/gems/nkallen-cache-money-0.2.5/lib/cash/accessor.rb:22:in `fetch' vendor/gems/nkallen-cache-money-0.2.5/lib/cash/accessor.rb:31:in `get' so it appears that the problem is in the cache money plugin. has anyone experienced something similar? i've cut and pasted the relevant code below -- anyone more familiar with blocks able to discern any obvious problems? 11 def fetch(keys, options = {}, &block) 12 case keys 13 when Array 14 keys = keys.collect { |key| cache_key(key) } 15 hits = repository.get_multi(keys) 16 if (missed_keys = keys - hits.keys).any? 17 missed_values = block.call(missed_keys) 18 hits.merge!(missed_keys.zip(Array(missed_values)).to_hash) 19 end 20 hits 21 else 22 repository.get(cache_key(keys), options[:raw]) || (block ? block.call : nil) 23 end 24 end 25 26 def get(keys, options = {}, &block) 27 case keys 28 when Array 29 fetch(keys, options, &block) 30 else 31 fetch(keys, options) do 32 if block_given? 33 add(keys, result = yield(keys), options) 34 result 35 end 36 end 37 end 38 end 39 40 def add(key, value, options = {}) 41 if repository.add(cache_key(key), value, options[:ttl] || 0, options[:raw]) == "NOT_STORED\r\n" 42 yield 43 end 44 end

  • How to paint fully transparent pixels/points in P2D mode?

    - by netzwerg
    According to the Processing Reference, stroke(gray, alpha) allows to set the color and opacity of the stroke. With the default color mode, an alpha value of 255 denotes full opacity, while a value of 0 should correspond to complete transparency. While this works with the (default) JAVA2D renderer, I can't seem to paint fully transparent points in P2D mode. This code clearly renders a pixel at the center of the canvas, even though the alpha value is set to 0 (fully transparent): public class Transparency extends PApplet { @Override public void setup() { size(200, 200, P2D); } @Override public void draw() { stroke(0, 0); point(width / 2, height / 2); } public static void main(String[] args) { PApplet.main(new String[] { Transparency.class.getSimpleName() }); } } What's wrong here?

  • NullReferenceException when testing DefaultModelBinder.

    - by Byron Sommardahl
    I'm developing a project using BDD/TDD techniques and I'm trying my best to stay the course. A problem I just ran into is unit testing the DefaultModelBinder. I'm using mspec to write my tests. I have a class like this that I want to bind to: public class EmailMessageInput : IMessageInput { public object Recipient { get; set; } public string Body { get; set; } } Here's how I'm building my spec context. I'm building a fake form collection and stuffing it into a bindingContext object. public abstract class given_a_controller_with_valid_email_input : given_a_controller_context { Establish additional_context = () => { var form = new FormCollection { new NameValueCollection { { "EmailMessageInput.Recipient", "[email protected]"}, { "EmailMessageInput.Body", "Test body." } } }; _bindingContext = new ModelBindingContext { ModelName = "EmailMessageInput", ValueProvider = form }; _modelBinder = new DefaultModelBinder(); }; protected static ModelBindingContext _bindingContext; protected static DefaultModelBinder _modelBinder; } public abstract class given_a_controller_context { protected static MessageController _controller; Establish context = () => { _controller = new MessageController(); }; } Finally, my spec throws an null reference exception when I execute .BindModel() from inside one of my specs: Because of = () => { _model = _modelBinder.BindModel(_controller.ControllerContext, _bindingContext); }; Any clue what it could be? Feel free to ask me for more info, if needed. I might have taken something for granted.

    import time from ctypes import * import win32gui import win32com.client as comclt X = 119 Y = 53 def PILColorToRGB(pil_color): """ convert a PIL-compatible integer into an (r, g, b) tuple """ hexstr = '%06x' % pil_color # reverse byte order r, g, b = hexstr[4:], hexstr[2:4], hexstr[:2] r, g, b = [int(n, 16) for n in (r, g, b)] return (r, g, b) wsh = comclt.Dispatch("WScript.Shell") w = win32gui user = windll.LoadLibrary("c:\\windows\\system32\\user32.dll") h = user.GetDC(0) gdi = windll.LoadLibrary("c:\\windows\\system32\\gdi32.dll") while True: FG = w.GetWindowText(w.GetForegroundWindow()) #FG = Foreground window title. if FG == "World of Warcraft": rgb = (PILColorToRGB(gdi.GetPixel(h,X,Y))) #X, Y time.sleep(0.333) #don't check too often. if (rgb[0] >= 130): #While Pixel (X, Y) is Red... #print "%d %d %d" % (rgb[0], rgb[1], rgb[2]) #Debug wsh.SendKeys("{F12}") #Send a key. time.sleep(0.7) #Add some extra down-time if we send the key. else: time.sleep(5) Basically all this code does is read a pixel on the screen, and send a key (F12) if the pixel is red. But when using this code I regularly get some phantom key-code being pressed. The application I'm using this on is obviously world of warcraft, and I have checked that all keybinds are standard keybinds. However randomly it seems I get either an up arrow, or a w pressed, which moves my character forward whenever this code executes (F12 is bound to a macro, unbound from any movement. If I press f12 with a hardware event, it does not exhibit this behavior. What in the world could be going on here?

  • Extension method on type

    - by Karsten
    Hi Is there a way to create an extension method for an type ? I only seem to be able to create them for instances. public static class MyExtensions { public static string Test(this string s) { return "test"; } } public class Test { static void TestIt() { string.Test(); // won't compile string s = null; s.Test(); } }

  • Using an array as parameter to a class.

    - by Gabriel A. Zorrilla
    I have created an array Man: public main blah blah{ man = man[10]; } Man has fields such as Man.name; Man.age; ... In Man class, there is a OnClick method that opens a new window showing its name and age. public Man(){ Onclick(){ InfoWindow showinfo = new InfoWindow(this.getid()) // If this is Man[2] the id would be 2. } And in InfoWindow class: public class InfoWindow extends JFrame{ public InfoWindow(Man selectedMan){ setSize(300, 200); JLabel info = new JLabel(selectedMan.getname()); add(info); info.setVisible(true); } } Basically, that's wanna acomplish (show in pseudocode), pass a Man[i] into a class that when a window is created, shows the info related to that man. This is how i'm actualy trying to implement it but it's not working, i'm pretty sure there is a misconception from me in some part. Any help?

  • C++: Dependency injection, circular dependency and callbacks

    - by Jonathan
    Consider the (highly simplified) following case: class Dispatcher { public: receive() {/*implementation*/}; // callback } class CommInterface { public: send() = 0; // call } class CommA : public CommInterface { public: send() {/*implementation*/}; } Various classes in the system send messages via the dispatcher. The dispatcher uses a comm to send. Once an answer is returned, the comm relays it back to the dispatcher which dispatches it back to the appropriate original sender. Comm is polymorphic and which implementation to choose can be read from a settings file. Dispatcher has a dependency on the comm in order to send. Comm has a dependency on dispatcher in order to callback. Therefor there's a circular dependency here and I can't seem to implement the dependency injection principle (even after encountering this nice blog post).

  • C# Sharp: Partial Classes

    - by dcolumbus
    This is quick confirmation question: In order to make partial classes work, I initially thought that there would be a main Class public class ManageDates and then you would create partial classes like public partial class ManageDates to extend the ManageDates class. But from some experiementing, I've come to find out that if you're going to use partial classes, each individual class must be declared public partial class [ClassName] ... Am I correct in this conclusion?

  • Convert a byte array to a class containing a byte array in C#

    - by Mathijs
    I've got a C# function that converts a byte array to a class, given it's type: IntPtr buffer = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(rawsize); Marshal.Copy(data, 0, buffer, rawsize); object result = Marshal.PtrToStructure(buffer, type); Marshal.FreeHGlobal(buffer); I use sequential structs: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public new class PacketFormat : Packet.PacketFormat { } This worked fine, until I tried to convert to a struct/class containing a byte array. [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public new class PacketFormat : Packet.PacketFormat { public byte header; public byte[] data = new byte[256]; } Marshal.SizeOf(type) returns 16, which is too low (should be 257) and causes Marshal.PtrToStructure to fail with the following error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. I'm guessing that using a fixed array would be a solution, but can it also be done without having to resort to unsafe code?
