  Hi, I have the following query which uses a date variable, which is generated inside the stored procedure: DECLARE @sp_Date DATETIME SET @sp_Date = DateAdd(m, -6, GETDATE()) SELECT DISTINCT pat.PublicationID FROM PubAdvTransData AS pat INNER JOIN PubAdvertiser AS pa ON pat.AdvTransID = pa.AdvTransID WHERE (pat.LastAdDate > @sp_Date) AND (pa.AdvertiserID = 12345)) The problem is that the @sp_Date value appears to be being ignored and I am wondering why?   Hi, does anyone know of a very simple SQL Server client tool - that does the same basic functions as Management Studio (i.e. choose a database and run a query - doesn't need an Object Explorer, or anything fancy)? Ideally it would be great to have a single exe or zip file version that I could take around on a USB key - anything to avoid installing the full set of SQL Server client tools all the time!   I wrote a T-SQL query which includes a test for valid EmployeeNo. If the EmployeeNo is not valid, I do the following: RAISERROR(5005, 10, 1, N'Invalid Employee No') return @@Error Back in VB.Net I test the sql exception and found that when the Employee No is invalid the error.number is not 5005 as I would expect, but 2732. What is the explanation for this? Thank you.

If I then make changes to the retrieved data, and call SubmitChanges the control somehow knows the correct method to call. (UpdateEmployee for example) Where is the name of the update method set, or it is simply inferred by some sort of naming convention?

  Hi all, I have a form that when submitted shows a busy animation and disables the submit button. Anyone know how to query Microsoft's Sys.Mvc.FormValidation to see if the form passed it's test so I can prevent the busy animation showing if the form hasn't actually been submitted? Or even some other work-around?   I'm binding a GridView to an LINQ query. Some of the fields in the objects created by the LINQ statement are strings, and need to contain new lines. Apparently, GridView HTML-encodes everything in each cell, so I can't insert a <br /> to create a new line within a cell. How do I tell GridView not to HTML encode the contents of cells? Maybe I should use a different control instead?
