Is there a way to easily categorize an outgoing mail in outlook 2007? I can go to options tab and then click "further options" (translated) an then choose the category in the message options dialog. But is there a single click way to to that?
I write a lot of mails and I want to categorize outgoing mails fast.
Thank you!
Can anyone explain this? On this laptop, ustream and justin.tv don't work - just get a blank screen. But UTube and bitgravoty work fine (also flash based).
64-bit windows 7 - but I have 64-bit windows 7 on my desktop machine and everything works fine there.
Good place to test is here http://live.twit.tv/ where the bitgravity feeds work fine, but ustream and justin.tv don't.
I have a Windows 7 machine, with Intel 82567LM LAN Card. I am trying to enable Wake on Lan with password. Can somebody please tell me how to set the password for Wake on Lan.
I shall be grateful for any pointers/links etc.
Thanks.
PS. Can someone please suggest a small utility for wake on lan, that supports password.
my centos environment has just become bash shell prompt:
-bash-3.2#
how do I change it back to the usual # prompt? what places should I check for possibly modifications?
Update:
I was not clear in my question: the prompt used to be just a single # and supports more syntax(a different shell script than bash 3.2 perhaps)? I would like to switch back to that. for example, ll is not longer supported in this bash shell
I have a machine running Ubuntu Server. It has only a command-line interface. How can I make the system login with a specific user automatically (I don't want to type the username/password). I know that this is insecure and I don't care.
How can I retrieve the names of all of the private MSMQ queues on the local machine, without using System.Messaging.MessageQueue.GetPrivateQueuesByMachine(".")? I'm using PowerShell so any solution using COM, WMI, or .NET is acceptable, although the latter is preferable.
Note that this StackOverflow question has a solution that returns all of the queue objects. I don't want the objects (it's too slow and a little flakey when there are lots of queues), I just want their names.
I am having an issue with an IIS application (details of environment at the end of the message).
The web site works great most of the time and I cannot reproduce any error in our test system. On the live system however with on averare of 5-15 requests per second I have a problem with that some requests (about 0.05%) will take over 300 seconds to complete.
The other requests complete withing 5-10 seconds.
It seem like if all the errornous requests end up with a Timer_EntityBody error in the error log. I have never seen this as an end user but I guess that they will receive some kind of error message.
I am trying to find out what can be causing this errornous behaviour. Any ideas are welcome. I have read something about that there can be an MTU issue if ICMP and MTU protocols are blocked in the firewall. Does that sound reasonable?
I have also read about updating to IIS 7 should do the trick. Does it sound reasonable?
I think that the problem has another cause but I have no idea of what. I have tried running hte perormance monitor, monitoring for database locks and active transaction counts. I can see some of these in the perfmon log for the MSSQL server (another machine) for example:
Active transactions is sometimes peaking and sometimes for long periods
Lock waits per seconds is sometimes peaking
Transactions per second is sometimes peaking
Page IO Latch wait is sometimes peaking
Lock wait time (ms) is sometimes peaking
But I cannot see that any of these correlate to the errors in the IIS error log.
On the IIS server machine I can also see with perfmon that some values peak a few times during a day:
Request execution time
Avg disk queue length
I can neither see that any of these correlate to the errors in the IIS error log.
In the below code I have anonymized by replacing some parts with HIDDEN
The following can be seen in the access log
2010-10-01 08:35:05 W3SVC1301873091 **HIDDEN** POST /**HIDDEN**/Modules/BalanceModule.aspx - 80 - **HIDDEN** Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+5.1;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.0.4506.2152;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET4.0C;+.NET4.0E) ASP.NET_SessionId=**HIDDEN** 400 0 64 0 2241 127799
At the same time the following can be seen in the error log:
2010-10-01 08:35:05 **HIDDEN** 1999 **HIDDEN** 80 HTTP/1.0 POST /**HIDDEN**/Modules/BalanceModule.aspx - 1301873091 Timer_EntityBody Test+Pool
I can tell the following about the environment:
Server: Windows Server 2003 x64 SP2 running on VMWare
HTTP Server: IIS v6.0 with ASP.NET 2.0.50727
Antivirus: Trend Micro OfficeScan (Is it a good idea to have this on a server?)
I was invited to re-post this question with less opinion, so if it seems familiar, that's why.
How can I convert info pages into man pages? I used to have a shell one liner that flattened an entire info document into a single flat page, suitable for navigating with less, but I seem to have lost it.
Thanks!
I have some external fonts called Eaglefeather (Frank Lloyd Wright fonts) and I want to install them on to my Linux machine running Linux Mint 7 (Ubuntu based). I can't seem to get them to install which looks to me like just copying them to the /usr/local/share/fonts directory.
I recently moved an external drive from my usb-enabled router to my desktop machine, and ran into some permissions-related issues. A number of files were giving me errors when I tried to take ownership or set permissions, and in all my fiddling on a particular file, it somehow got switched to a folder.
Anyone have any idea how this might have happened, and how to flip it back?
Here's a screenshot:
I am using the following cron statement to backup from one folder to another folder in the same machine:
19 21 * * * root rsync -ac --delete /source/folder /dest/folder
When I use pstree, I see the cron forked three processes
+-cron---cron---rsync---rsync---rsync
And ps
9972 ? Ds 1:00 rsync -ac --delete /source/folder /dest/folder
9973 ? S 0:29 rsync -ac --delete /source/folder /dest/folder
9974 ? S 0:09 rsync -ac --delete /source/folder /dest/folder
Why are three processes? Can I limit to only one?
So I've read this question and attempted just about every other workaround I've found online.
Problem seems completely illogical to me, anyways:
SBS 2011, vanilla install; haven't touched anything in IIS or Exchange outside of what's been done through the checklist (brand new domain, completely new customer) except to import an existing wildcard certificate for *.example.com (which is valid, Remote Web Workplace and Outlook Web Access work fine).
On the two test machines and one production machine running a mixture of Windows XP Pro, Windows 7 and Outlook 2003 through to 2010, I've had no problem saving the password after configuring Outlook Anywhere using the wrong authentication method. I repeat, I have had no issues using the wrong authentication method on these test machines; password saves the first time, no problem, can verify it exists in the credentials manager (Start Run control userpasswords2), close Outlook, reboot, go make a sammie, come back, credentials are still saved. When I say wrong, it's because I was choosing NTLM and Exchange (under Exchange Console Server Configuration Client Access) was set by default to use Basic.
On two completely different machines setup by a co-worker, they had (under my guidance) used NTLM as well... except that frustratingly, Outlook would always ask for a password. One machine was Windows XP with Outlook 2010, the other was Windows 7 with Outlook 2003. When these two machines were set to use Basic -- the correct settings -- the option to save was there and now works without issue.
Puzzled by how my machines could possibly work with the wrong authentication, I then went into one of them and changed the authentication method to Basic.
Now here's where it gets a little crazy: if I go under Outlook and change the authentication to use the correct setting (Basic) it fails to save the password and Outlook prompts every time (without a "remember me" checkbox). I have not had a chance to change it to Basic on the other two machines to see if this is just a fluke or not, but something just isn't right here.
My two hunches are either a missing/installed KB Update or perhaps a local security policy.
I should add that none of the 5 test machines in the equation here have ever been joined to the domain.
I've hit a wall whilst setting up a site using nginx / fpm. The page displays "File not found", and this appears in the nginx error.log:
FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream
I'm new to both nginx and fpm, and that error message means nothing to me (even the google machine hasn't helped!). Can anyone shed any light onto what could be happening?
Well, my computer didn't come with a stock PC speaker
I noticed also that laptops tend to not have PC speakers either, but they make bios/beep sounds through their normal speakers.
How can I configure my desktop machine to behave that way?
I have a SB-XFI card
I'm investigating HAProxy as a possible replacement for F5.
F5 is capable of persisting a session based on a response header value:
when HTTP_RESPONSE {
set session [HTTP::header X-Session]
if {$session ne ""} {
persist add uie $session
}
}
and then route all subsequent requests which contain the same session ID in a header, query parameter, path, etc. to the same machine, eg:
when HTTP_REQUEST {
set session [findstr [HTTP::path] "/session/" 9 /
if {$session} {
persist uie $session
}
}
I'm wondering if this is even possible to do with HAProxy?
Hi,
I have installed a web application which is configured using a network drive
But i am keep getting a pop up asking for credentials
looking in the event log, the network logon is set to my domain/account which looks fine
however caller user name is empty (not sure if this is an issue)
the application works fine when i use a local drive
the application also runs fine when i set "connect as" user
the application also works fine when a share on the local machine is used!!
direct asses using the unc path is not a problem
Please advise what i can do or should check
Thanks and Regards,
James
So I set up uTorrent to automatically download torrents from EZTV search-based RSS feeds. And it works splendidly.
I just set feeds to download automatically, and didn't set up smart episode filters or anything else in the uTorrent itself.
However, from time to time something happens to EZTV feeds which makes uTorrent re-download every single torrent in every feed.
I'm looking for a workaround.
Hi all,
I don't have mac installed on my macbook pro, but I have Ubuntu and Windows. I was following this website http://mac.linux.be/content/single-boot-linux-without-delay to boot faster into Ubuntu without a 30 second delay. But I can't even burn a rEfit cdr image. Do you know how to burn it?
Thanks
On one of my old computers I am having the problem of upgrading to windows 8.1 because my computer does not support PAE, NX, and SSE2. How was I able to install windows 8 in the first place? I heard the original requirements for windows 8.0 were PAE, NX, and SSE2.
Anyone know a bypass for this on a machine already running windows 8?
IMO 8.1 should have been released in the form of a service pack not an entirely new windows.
I've got two network interfaces on an Ubuntu machine which go out to two different networks but both have internet gateways.
I need to limit it so that any outgoing http requests it makes (ie through wget) only go through eth0 and all other traffic goes through eth1.
I dare say the solution might have something to do with iptables but I've no experience with it so would appreciate all help.
We have several network interfaces in a machine. How to configure SNMP view to limit which interfaces could be shown to public community?
We're using Ubuntu Server and default SNMPD from the repository. We have successfully limit the SNMPD agent to show only interfaces tree using this configuration:
view system included .iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.interfaces
I have a Windows Server 2008 X64 machine that I need to swap the boot drive on. I'd like to use a disk image/restore utility to make an image of the boot partition and restore that to the new drive.
Does anyone know of a free or reasonably priced tool that can do this? I know that Acronis True Image will do it, but you need to have their server product to restore images of a server OS and it's prohibitively expensive ($850).
Thanks,
jon
I recently purchased a nice asus 1000HE, and installed Ubuntu NBR. However, I'm pretty disappointed with how sluggish it feels. I'm wondering if I maybe need to install a closed-source graphics driver - it feels similar to how my work laptop performed before I installed the restricted nvidia driver on that machine.
[EDIT]
In case it's any use:
pete@eliza:~$ uname -a
Linux eliza 2.6.28-12-netbook-eeepc #43 SMP Mon Apr 27 16:06:05 MDT 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
I use Outlook 2007, and have a Hotmail/Live webmail account. Using Outlook Connector, I want them to be synced to Outlook 2007 on my Windows 7 HP machine, however when I click on the folder name (e.g. [email protected]) in the 'Navigation Pane' under all the usual folders such as 'Inbox', 'Deleted Items', etc, it just shows a blank inbox stating that there are no items to be shown.
