  • How can you prevent both jumpiness, and interrupting tweens with animated Flash buttons?

    - by Kevin Suttle
    This is something I've never been able to figure out. You've got a button offscreen you want to animate in. We'll call it 'btn.' You've got a hit area that serves as the proximity sensor to trigger btn's animation. We'll call it 'hitZone' (as to not cause confusion with the hitArea property of display objects). Both btn and hitZone are MovieClips. The listeners go something like this. import com.greensock.*; import com.greensock.easing.*; import flash.events.MouseEvent; var endPoint:Number = 31; hitZone.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, onHitZoneOver); hitZone.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, onHitZoneOut); hitZone.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onHitZoneClick); btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, onBtnOver); btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, onBtnOut); btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onBtnClick); btn.mouseChildren = false; function onHitZoneOver(e:MouseEvent):void { TweenLite.to(btn, 0.75, {x:endPoint, ease:Expo.easeOut}); trace("over hitZone"); } function onHitZoneOut(e:MouseEvent):void { TweenLite.to(btn, 0.75, {x:-1, ease:Expo.easeOut}); trace("out hitZone"); } function onBtnOver(e:MouseEvent):void { hitZone.mouseEnabled = false; hitZone.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, onHitZoneOver); hitZone.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, onHitZoneOut); trace("over BTN"); // This line is the only thing keeping the btn animation from being fired continuously // causing jumpiness. However, calling this allows the animation to be interrupted // at any point. TweenLite.killTweensOf(btn); } function onBtnOut(e:MouseEvent):void { hitZone.mouseEnabled = true; hitZone.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, onHitZoneOver); hitZone.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, onHitZoneOut); trace("out BTN"); } function onBtnClick(e:MouseEvent):void { trace("click BTN"); } function onHitZoneClick(e:MouseEvent):void { trace("click hitZone"); } The issue is when your mouse is over both the hitZone and btn. The button continuously jumps unless you call TweenLite.killAllTweensOf(). This fixes the jumpiness, but it introduces a new problem. Now, it's very easy to interrupt the animation of the btn at any point, stopping it before it's totally visible on the stage. I've seen similar posts, but even they suffer from the same issue. Perhaps it's a problem with how Flash detects edges, because I've never once seen a workaround for this.

  • In .NET, how do I prevent, or handle, tampering with form data of disabled fields before submission?

    - by David
    Hi, If a disabled drop-down list is dynamically rendered to the page, it is still possible to use Firebug, or another tool, to tamper with the submitted value, and to remove the "disabled" HTML attribute. This code: protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) { var ddlTest = new DropDownList() {ID="ddlTest", Enabled = false}; ddlTest.Items.AddRange(new [] { new ListItem("Please select", ""), new ListItem("test 1", "1"), new ListItem("test 2", "2") }); Controls.Add(ddlTest); } results in this HTML being rendered: <select disabled="disabled" id="Properties_ddlTest" name="Properties$ddlTest"> <option value="" selected="selected">Please select</option> <option value="1">test 1</option> <option value="2">test 2</option> </select> The problem occurs when I use Firebug to remove the "disabled" attribute, and to change the selected option. On submission of the form, and re-creation of the field, the newly generated control has the correct value by the end of OnLoad, but by OnPreRender, it has assumed the identity of the submitted control and has been given the submitted form value. .NET seems to have no way of detecting the fact that the field was originally created in a disabled state and that the submitted value was faked. This is understandable, as there could be legitimate, client-side functionality that would allow the disabled attribute to be removed. Is there some way, other than a brute force approach, of detecting that this field's value should not have been changed? I see the brute force approach as being something crap, like saving the correct value somewhere while still in OnLoad, and restoring the value in the OnPreRender. As some fields have dependencies on others, that would be unacceptable to me.

  • How to prevent my C# winforms application from stealing focus when I set the visible properly to tru

    - by Fopedush
    I've got a C# winforms application that runs in the background, listening for hotkeys to be pressed. When a hotkey is pressed, my form makes a brief appearance. The form is always running, but set to hidden until I receive a hotkey event, at which time I set the visible property to true. The code looks like this: void hook_volumeDown(object sender, KeyPressedEventArgs e) { this.Visible = true; } It should be noted that the topmost property of this form is set to true. The really odd part is, after my C# app has stolen focus from another application, it will never do it again. For example: I launch my app, then launch some fullscreep app like Team Fortress 2. Then I press my hotkey. Team Fortress 2 minimizes, and I see my form. Then, however, I can restore TF2, and press my hotkey again all I want (with the desired effect), and TF2 will remain focused. At any rate, I'm looking for a way to fix this. I've found a lot of questions here covering similar problems, but all of them are related to creating/launching a new form, not making an existing one visible (unless I missed something). I could rework the application to create a new form every time I need one, but that would entail creating yet another form to be invisible all the time just to wait for hotkey events, so I'd rather leave it as it is. Any ideas?

  • Is php fileinfo sufficient to prevent upload of malicious files?

    - by Scarface
    Hey guys, I have searched around a bit, and have not really found a professional type response to how to have secure fileupload capability so I wanted to get the opinion of some of the experts on this site. I am currently allowing upload of mp3s and images, and while I am pretty confident in preventing xss and injection attacks on my site, I am not really familiar with fileupload security. I basically just use php fileinfo and check an array of accepted filetypes against the filetype. For images, there is the getimagesize function and some additional checks. As far as storing them, I just have a folder within my directory, because I want the users to be able to use the files. If anyone could give me some tips I would really appreciate it.

  • Delphi - How can I prevent the main form capturing keystrokes in a TMemo on another non-modal form?

    - by user89691
    I have an app that opens a non-modal form from the main form. The non-modal form has a TMemo on it. The main form menu uses "space" as one of its accelerator characters. When the non-modal form is open and the memo has focus, every time I try to enter a space into the memo on the non-modal form, the main form event for the "space" shortcut fires! I have tried turning MainForm.KeyPreview := false while the other form is open but no dice. Any ideas? TIA

  • How to prevent google chrome from caching my inputs, esp hidden ones when user click back?

    - by melaos
    hi there, i have an asp.net mvc app which have quite a few hidden inputs to keep values around and formatting their names so that i can use the Model binding later when i submit the form. i stumble into a weird bug with chrome which i don't have with IE or Firefox when the user submits the form and click on the back button, i find that chrome will keep my hidden input values as well. this whole chunk is generated via javascript hence i believe chrome is caching this. function addProductRow(productId, productName) { if (productName != "") { //use guid to ensure that the row never repeats var guid = $.Guid.New(); var temp = parseFloat($(".tboProductCount").val()); //need the span to workaround for chrome var szHTML = "<tr valign=\"top\" id=\"productRow\"><td class=\"productIdCol\"><input type=\"hidden\" id=productRegsID" + temp + "\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].productId\" value=\"" + productId + "\"/>" + "<span id=\"spanProdID" + temp + "\" name=\"spanProdID" + temp + "\" >" + productId + "</span>" + "</td>" //+ "<td><input type=\"text\" id=\"productRegName\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].productName\" value=\"" + productName + "\" class=\"productRegName\" size=\"50\" readonly=\"readonly\"/></td>" + "<td><span id=\"productRegName\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].productName\" class=\"productRegName\">"+ productName + "<\span></td>" + "<td id=\"" + guid + "\" class=\"productrowguid\" \>" + "<input type=\"text\" size=\"20\" id=\"productSerialNo" + temp + "\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].serialNo\" value=\"" + "\" class=\"productSerialNo\" maxlength=\"18\" />" + "<a class=\"fancybox\" id=\"btnImgSerialNo" + temp + "\" href=\"#divSerialNo" + temp + "\"><img class=\"btnImgSerialNo\" src=\"Images/landing_14.gif\" /></a>" + "<span id=\"snFlag" + temp + "\" class=\"redWarning\"></span></td>" + "<td><input type=\"text\" id=\"productRegDate" + temp + "\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].PurchaseDate\" readonly=\"readonly\" />" + "<span id=\"snRegDate" + temp + "\" class=\"redWarning\"></span></td>" + "<td align=\"center\"><img style=\"cursor:pointer\" id=\"btnImgDelete\" src=\"Images/btn_remove.gif\" onclick=\"javascript:removeProductRow('" + guid + "')\" /><div style=\"display:none;\"><div id=\"divSerialNo" + temp + "\" style=\"font-family:verdana;font-size:11px;width:600px\">" + serialnumbergeneral + "<br /><br />" + getSNImageByCategory(productId) + "</div></div></td>" + "</tr>"; $(".ProductRegistrationTable").append(szHTML); $("a.fancybox").fancybox(); //initialization $("#productRegDate" + temp).datepicker({ minDate: new Date(1996, 1 - 1, 1), maxDate: 0 }); //sanity check //s7test alert('1 '+$("#spanProdID" + temp)); alert('2 '+$("#productRegsID" + temp)); } //end function addNewProductRow i need the id to be refreshed when the user select a new product, but putting another span tag beside it shows that the span will have the new id will the hidden input will still have the previous id. is there an elegant way to workaround this issue? thanks

  • Can I prevent Flash's Input Events from stacking up when my framerate low?

    - by Matt W
    My Flash game targets 24 fps, but slows to 10 on slower machines. This is fine, except Flash decides to throttle the queue of incoming MouseEvent and KeyboardEvents, and they stack up and the Events fall behind. Way behind. It's so bad that, at 10 fps, if I spam the Mouse and Keyboard for a few seconds not much happens, then, after I stop, the game seems to play itself for the next 5 seconds as the Events trickle in. Spooky, I know. Does anyone know a way around this? I basically need to say to Flash, "I know you think we're falling behind, but throttling the input events won't help. Give them to me as soon as you get them, please."

  • How can I prevent segmentation faults in my program?

    - by worlds-apart89
    I have a C assignment. It is a lot longer than the code shown below, and we are given the function prototypes and instructions only. I have done my best at writing code, but I am stuck with segmentation faults. When I compile and run the program below on Linux, at "735 NaN" it will terminate, indicating a segfault occurred. Why? What am I doing wrong? Basically, the program does not let me access table-list_array[735]-value and table-list_array[735]-key. This is of course the first segfault. There might be more following index 735. #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> typedef struct list_node list_node_t; struct list_node { char *key; int value; list_node_t *next; }; typedef struct count_table count_table_t; struct count_table { int size; list_node_t **list_array; }; count_table_t* table_allocate(int size) { count_table_t *ptr = malloc(sizeof(count_table_t)); ptr->size = size; list_node_t *nodes[size]; int k; for(k=0; k<size; k++){ nodes[k] = NULL; } ptr->list_array = nodes; return ptr; } void table_addvalue(count_table_t *table) { int i; for(i=0; i<table->size; i++) { table->list_array[i] = malloc(sizeof(list_node_t)); table->list_array[i]->value = i; table->list_array[i]->key = "NaN"; table->list_array[i]->next = NULL; } } int main() { count_table_t *table = table_allocate(1000); table_addvalue(table); int i; for(i=0; i<table->size; i++) printf("%d %s\n", table->list_array[i]->value, table->list_array[i]->key); return 0; }

  • Symfony 1.4: Is it possible to prevent escaping of a redirect URL?

    - by Tom
    Hi, If I do a redirect in action as normal: $this->redirect('@mypage?apple=1&banana=2&orange=3'); ... Symfony produces the correct URL: /something/something?apple=1&banana=2&orange=3 However, the following gets escaped for some bizarre reason: $string = 'apple=1&banana=2&orange=3'; $this->redirect('@mypage?'.$string); ... and the following URL is produced: /something/something?apple=1&amp;banana=2&amp;orange=3 Is there a way to avoid this escaping and have the ampersands appear correctly in the URL? I've tried everything I can think of and it's driving me mad. I need this for a situation where I'm pulling a saved query as a string from the database and would just like to latch it onto the URL. I'm aware that I could generate an array from the string and then generate a brand new URL from the array, but it just seems like a lot of overhead because of this silly escaping. Thanks.

  • How do you prevent Git from printing 'remote:' on each line of the output of a post-recieve hook?

    - by Matt Hodan
    I recently configured an EC2 instance with a Git deployment workflow that resembles Heroku, but I can't seem to figure out how Heroku prevents the Git post-receive hook from outputting 'remote:' on each line. • In the following list, how do I prevent jQuery from interacting with part of it.

    - by kylex
    I have the following list structure: <ul> <li>One</li> <li class="topActive">Two <ul> <li class="active">Two-1 <ul> <li>Two-1-1</li> </ul> </li> <li>Two-2</li> </ul> </li> <li>Three <ul> <li>Three-1</li> </ul> </li> </ul> with the following jQuery: $("ul>li>ul").hide(); $("ul>li>ul>li>ul").hide(); $("ul>li>ul>li>ul>ul>li").hide(); $('.active').parents().show();????????? $("ul>li").hoverIntent( function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideDown('fast'); }, function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideUp('fast'); } ); $("ul>li>ul>li").hoverIntent( function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideDown('fast'); }, function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideUp('fast'); } ); What I would like is this: When an li class is topActive, everything within that class down to the current class can not be affected by the jQuery that causes the list to slide up and down. so in the case provided the following would show, along with the top level: One Two Two-1 Two-2 Three And when I mouse over either, Two, or Two-1 or Two-2 nothing happens, but if I mouse over Three, the jQuery will cause it to slide up or slide down. In this example: <ul> <li>One</li> <li class="topActive">Two <ul> <li class="active">Two-1 <ul> <li>Two-1-1</li> </ul> </li> <li>Two-2</li> </ul> </li> <li>Three <ul> <li>Three-1</li> </ul> </li> </ul> When I mouseover Two-1, it will slide down, but when I mouse out Two-1 will remain. One Two Two-1 Two-2 Three Any suggestsions for either a CSS or jQuery implementation (or mixture of the two)?

  • Is it possible to prevent a locally-running SWF (AS3) from downloading from my website?

    - by Matt
    I've got a crossdomain.xml file which allows SWFs running on only a certain few domains to download resources from my domain. However, one simple way around this is for a user to download the SWF to their local machine, and run it there (i.e. by double-clicking on it within Windows Explorer, not by running through http://localhost). It seems that when this happens, the crossdomain.xml file is ignored. I understand that in my actionscript, I can do this: if (Security.sandboxType.indexOf(Security.REMOTE) == -1) // running locally - don't allow However it is incredibly easy for someone to decompile the SWF and simply remove this line. Is it possible to do something on the server side to stop a locally running SWF to download from my site? I tried checking the referrer but this field often isn't populated. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks, Matt

  • iPhone multi-touch scale and rotate, how to prevent scale?

    - by russhill
    I have existing code for tracking multi-touch positions and then rotating and scaling the item - in this case an image - appropriately. The code works really well and in itself is perfect, however for this particular task, I need the rotation ONLY. I have spent time trying to work out what is going on in this routine, but maths is not my strong point so wanted to see if anyone could assist? - (CGAffineTransform)incrementalTransformWithTouches:(NSSet *)touches { NSArray *sortedTouches = [[touches allObjects] sortedArrayUsingSelector:@selector(compareAddress:)]; NSInteger numTouches = [sortedTouches count]; // No touches if (numTouches == 0) { return CGAffineTransformIdentity; } // Single touch if (numTouches == 1) { UITouch *touch = [sortedTouches objectAtIndex:0]; CGPoint beginPoint = *(CGPoint *)CFDictionaryGetValue(touchBeginPoints, touch); CGPoint currentPoint = [touch locationInView:self.superview]; return CGAffineTransformMakeTranslation(currentPoint.x - beginPoint.x, currentPoint.y - beginPoint.y); } // If two or more touches, go with the first two (sorted by address) UITouch *touch1 = [sortedTouches objectAtIndex:0]; UITouch *touch2 = [sortedTouches objectAtIndex:1]; CGPoint beginPoint1 = *(CGPoint *)CFDictionaryGetValue(touchBeginPoints, touch1); CGPoint currentPoint1 = [touch1 locationInView:self.superview]; CGPoint beginPoint2 = *(CGPoint *)CFDictionaryGetValue(touchBeginPoints, touch2); CGPoint currentPoint2 = [touch2 locationInView:self.superview]; double layerX = self.center.x; double layerY = self.center.y; double x1 = beginPoint1.x - layerX; double y1 = beginPoint1.y - layerY; double x2 = beginPoint2.x - layerX; double y2 = beginPoint2.y - layerY; double x3 = currentPoint1.x - layerX; double y3 = currentPoint1.y - layerY; double x4 = currentPoint2.x - layerX; double y4 = currentPoint2.y - layerY; // Solve the system: // [a b t1, -b a t2, 0 0 1] * [x1, y1, 1] = [x3, y3, 1] // [a b t1, -b a t2, 0 0 1] * [x2, y2, 1] = [x4, y4, 1] double D = (y1-y2)*(y1-y2) + (x1-x2)*(x1-x2); if (D < 0.1) { return CGAffineTransformMakeTranslation(x3-x1, y3-y1); } double a = (y1-y2)*(y3-y4) + (x1-x2)*(x3-x4); double b = (y1-y2)*(x3-x4) - (x1-x2)*(y3-y4); double tx = (y1*x2 - x1*y2)*(y4-y3) - (x1*x2 + y1*y2)*(x3+x4) + x3*(y2*y2 + x2*x2) + x4*(y1*y1 + x1*x1); double ty = (x1*x2 + y1*y2)*(-y4-y3) + (y1*x2 - x1*y2)*(x3-x4) + y3*(y2*y2 + x2*x2) + y4*(y1*y1 + x1*x1); return CGAffineTransformMake(a/D, -b/D, b/D, a/D, tx/D, ty/D); } I have tried to read up on the way matrix's work, but cannot figure it out entirely. More likely to be the issue is the calculations, which as I mention is not my strong point. What I need from this routine is a transform that performs my rotation but ignores scale - so the distance between the 2 finger touch points is ignored and scale is not affected. I have looked at other routines on the internet to handle multi-touch rotation but all the ones I tried had issues in some way or other, whereas the above code is spot on for scale and rotate actions. Any help appreciated!

  • How can I prevent the "... has stopped working" window on my Server 2008 R2 dev box?

    - by serialhobbyist
    I'm using a Windows Server 2008 x64 R2 machine as a development box. Amongst many other things I've got Visual Studio 2008 SP1 installed on it. When I'm working on a project, I sometimes need to use Debug Start without Debugging (Ctrl + F5). If the program throws an exception, I get a new R2-style window appear. I'm pretty sure I didn't see this on my XP box - this is the first time I've developed directly on a server. Is there any way to avoid this - it's really beginning to bug me? E.g. my current project is accessing a WCF service - I'm using Ctrl+F5 to start a console program client. I run it and get the window. The title is the name of the project I've just started and it contains: [insert-project-name-here] has stopped working Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. --> Check online for a solution and close the program --> Close the program --> Debug the program V View problem details. Clicking on "Close the program" will actually close the window and the exception message appears in the console, which is what I want (but without the extra window-faffing). How can I avoid this annoyance?

  • Java - How to force resize JCheckBox to prevent clicking the empty space ?

    - by Brad
    When i create a JCheckBox in my Swing application i leave some extra space after its label, so if the JCheckBox label is for example 100 pixels width, i make the JCheckBox 120 pixels for safety. The problem as at runtime, it's not nice that a user can click on the empty space after the JCheckBox label and it can be actually clicked, like this : I wonder if there is a way to resize the JCheckBox at runtime to exactly fit the text inside it, depending on the font type/size used ? This seems fancy a bit, but i like to make things look perfect :)

  • How can I prevent ListBox from selecting an item when I right-click it?

    - by chaiguy
    The tricky part is that each item has a ContextMenu that I still want to open when it is right-clicked (I just don't want it selecting it). In fact, if it makes things any easier, I don't want any automatic selection at all, so if there's some way I can disable it entirely that would be just fine. I'm thinking of just switching to an ItemsControl actually, so long as I can get virtualization and scrolling to work with it.

  • How can one prevent page breaks between Tables in SQL Reporting Services 2005?

    - by James
    I've been developing an SSRS 2005 report (a form letter) that contains two tables. The first "table" uses DataSet "A" to populate address fields on letterhead. The second table uses DataSet "B" to display a basic list of records that pertain to the addressed party. Even though the two tables are within the same page and all PageBreak* properties are set to "False", SSRS renders the report as two pages. How can I force both tables to render in series, without any forced page breaks?

  • With Maven, how would I prevent Maven from filtering certain properties but allowing others?

    - by Benny
    The problem is that I'm trying to build a project that has in its resources a build.xml file. Basically, I package my project as a jar with Maven2, and then use ant installer to install my project. There is a property in the build.xml file that I need to filter called build.date, but there are other properties that I don't want to filter, like ${basedir}, because it's used by the ant installer but gets replaced by Maven's basedir variable. So, I need to somehow tell Maven to filter ${build.date}, but not ${basedir}. I tried creating a properties file as a filter with "basedir=${basedir}" as one of the properties, but I get the following error: Resolving expression: '${basedir}': Detected the following recursive expression cycle: [basedir] Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, B.J.

  • How can I prevent row selection in the WPF Toolkit DataGrid?

    - by Kilhoffer
    I see a few options available for row selection, but 'No Selection' is not one of them. I've tried handling the SelectionChanged event by setting SelectedItem to null, but the row still seems selected. If there is no easy support for preventing this, would it be easy to just style the selected row the same as an unselected one? That way it could be selected, but the user has no visual indicator.

  • How to prevent PHP variables from being arrays or objects?

    - by MJB
    I think that (the title) is the problem I am having. I set up a MySQL connection, I read an XML file, and then I insert those values into a table by looping through the elements. The problem is, instead of inserting only 1 record, sometimes I insert 2 or 3 or 4. It seems to depend on the previous values I have read. I think I am reinitializing the variables, but I guess I am missing something -- hopefully something simple. Here is my code. I originally had about 20 columns, but I shortened the included version to make it easier to read. $ctr = 0; $sql = "insert into csd (id,type,nickname,hostname,username,password) ". "values (?,?,?,?,?,?)"; $cur = $db->prepare($sql); for ($ctr = 0; $ctr < $expected_count; $ctr++) { unset($bind_vars,$dat); $lbl = "csd_{$ctr}"; $dat['type'] = (string) $ref->itm->csds->$lbl->type; $dat['nickname'] = (string) $ref->itm->csds->$lbl->nickname; $dat['hostname'] = (string) $ref->itm->csds->$lbl->hostname; $dat['username'] = (string) $ref->itm->csds->$lbl->username; $dat['password'] = (string) $ref->itm->csds->$lbl->password; $bind_vars = array( $id,$dat['$type'], $dat['$nickname'], $dat['$hostname'], $dat['$username'], $dat['$password']); print_r ($bind_vars); $res = $db->execute($cur, $bind_vars); } P.S. I also tagged this SimpleXML because that is how I am reading the file, though that code is not included above. It looks like this: $ref = simplexml_load_file($file); UPDATE: I've changed the code around as per suggestions, and now it is not always the same pattern, but it is equally broken. When I display the bind array before inserting, it looks like this. Note that I also count the rows before and after, so there are 0 rows, then I insert 1, then there are 2: 0 CSDs on that ITEM now. Array ( [0] => 2 [1] => 0 [2] => [3] => X [4] => XYZ [5] => [6] => [7] => [8] => audio [9] => [10] => 192.168.0.50 [11] => 192.168.0.3 [12] => 255.255.255.0 [13] => 255.255.255.0 [14] => [15] => [16] => [17] => 21 [18] => 5 [19] => Y [20] => /dir ) 2 CSDs on that ITEM now.

  • Prevent painting of .NET form while form is loading?

    - by dvcolgan
    Is there a way to turn off all visual updates to a .NET form while I am manipulating it? When my program first loads, for example, I set the tab control to the tab that was last open. The user can see the program switching tabs. I have looked into SuspendLayout and ResumeLayout, but either I don't understand what they are doing, or I am not using them correctly, because they don't seem to have any effect. Someone told me that there used to be a way to turn off paint events in VB 6. Does this still exist in .NET?
