  • How to obtain cocos2d-x 3.1 templates into XCode 5.x?

    - by Mayerz
I cloned Cocos2d-x repo from github, everything works fine but I can't find how to install the Cocos2d templates into XCode. I saw that people were used to use this file, located at the root of the repo: ./install-templates-xcode.sh -f -u but it looks like this script file has been removed, any help appreciated. edit: Still no answer to this problem, even the slightest clues could help me. Are there still templates for XCode? Couldn't get answers from #cocos2d-x irc

  • How to make a simple Wine-based installer for Windows application

    - by zarawesome
My Windows application runs under Wine, but the installation is a bit of a headache for laymen, and the wrappers I've seen online (PlayOnLinux, Wine Doors) require even more packages to be installed. Is there a way to make a package that will install Wine if the user needs it to be installed, install the application and shortcuts, all with minimal user hassle?

  • How often is authenticated SOCKS5 used as an HTTP proxy in organizations?

    - by brainsnorkel
I'm wondering how frequently organisations use SOCKS5 as their web proxy protocol over, say, HTTP or authenticated HTTP proxies. Should an application even bother supporting SOCKS5 as an HTTP proxy? What percentage of organisations use SOCKS as a HTTP proxy? If you work in an organisation where you use SOCKS5, particularly authenticated SOCKS5, as the means of achieving HTTP Internet connectivity I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. If you have experience with requirements for SOCKS5 proxies in your software I'd like to hear your thoughts too.

  • Recommended book for Sql Server query optimisation

    - by Patrick Honorez
Even if I have made a certification exam on Sql Server Design and implementation , I have no clue about how to trace/debug/optimise performance in Sql Sever. Now the database I built is really business critical, and getting big, so it is time for me to dig into optimisation, specially regarding when/where to add indexes. Can you recommend a good book on this subject ? (smaller is better :) Just in case: I am using Sql Server 2008. Thanks

  • Put an application window as wallpaper

    - by Bloodsplatter
I'm looking to put an application window behind all other windows. I was thinking of using .NET 4 and WPF or Silverlight. I don't have any specific drawing code, I just want my application window as my desktop wallpaper while retaining the interactivity (no mucking around with screenshots etc). Is this even possible and if so, how? Edit: I'm using Windows 7 x64.

  • Play an AudioBufferSourceNode twice?

    - by alltom
Should I be able to use the same AudioBufferSourceNode to play a sound multiple times? For some reason, calling noteGrainOn a second time doesn't play audio, even with an intervening noteOff. This code only plays the sound once: var node = audioContext.createBufferSource() node.buffer = audioBuffer node.connect(audioContext.destination) var now = audioContext.currentTime node.noteGrainOn(now, 0, 2) node.noteOff(now + 2) node.noteGrainOn(now + 3, 0, 2) node.noteOff(now + 5)

  • How to static analyze C++ and Objective-C++ code?

    - by Plumenator
The "Build and analyze" option doesn't seem to work for .cpp and .mm files. I tried "clang --analyze" on individual files without any standard #includes and it works well. However I'm not able to run it on my Xcode project. I couldn't figure out a way to make clang find the standard #includes like even UIKit.h. Any clues?

  • Can I suppress or enforce URLs to be prefaced with http:// in ALL browsers?

    - by Ryan Dunlap
I want to ensure that regardless of what browser a user is in, they all see the EXACT same characters in the URL bar. Most browsers show the preceding protocol type in the URL bar. However, Chrome for example truncates http:// (not sure about https) and starts with the domain name, ie: Chrome: stackoverflow.com/questions/ask Safari: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask So, is there a way to either suppress the http:// in all browsers, or even enforce it in all browsers? Preferably suppress.

  • Get functions called with GDB

    - by Werner
Hi, I am using GDB to understand a C++ program. I put a break in the middle of the running which turns to be something like: break main.cpp:500 and I would like to see which functions have been called before. I tried "backtrace" but it shows only info about main, as previous calls to previous functions have already finished. My question is how can I get (with GDB or another method) the info about which functions have been called before this point, even if the call has been returned. Thanks

  • Seeking to a line in a file in g++

    - by Phenom
Is there a way that I can seek to a certain line in a file to read or write data? Let's say I want to write some data starting on the 10th line in a text file. There might be some data already in the first few lines, or the file could even be empty. Is there a way I can seek directly to the line I want without having to worry about what's already in the file?

  • determine if line segment is inside polygon

    - by dato
suppose we have simple polygon(without holes) with vertices (v0,v1,....vn) my aim is to determine if for given point p(x,y) any line segment connecting this point and any vertices of polygon is inside polygon or even for given two point p(x0,y0) `p(x1,y1)` line segment connecting these two point is inside polygon? i have searched many sites about this ,but i am still confused, generally i think we have to compare coordinates of vertices and by determing coordinates of which point is less or greater to another point's coordinates,we could determine location of any line segment, but i am not sure how correct is this, please help me

  • Future of IE9: Opacity + Performance

    - by chris_l
I just tried the IE9 "Second Internet Explorer Platform Preview" - which supports CSS opacity now. That's nice, but I tried it with one of my website prototypes, and it's quite slow when scrolling etc. Admittedly, the prototype uses hundreds of images with opacity != 1, but everything is snappy with current versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera. Does anybody know, if there are plans for IE9 to become faster in this area? Even rumours about this would be interesting in this case.

  • How do call this symbolic code transformation ?

    - by erric
Hi, I often cross this kind of code transformation (or even mathematical transformation) (python example, but applies to any language) I've go a function def f(x): return x I use it into another one. def g(x): return f(x)*f(x) print g(2) leads to 4 But I want to remove the functional dependency, and I change the function g into def g(f): return f*f print g( f(2) ) leads to 4 too How do you call this kind of transformation, locally turning a function into a scalar ?

  • Remove Chrome Loading Notification?

    - by Yottagray
I am working on a project that runs in Chrome in full-screen mode and displays data that can be edited and interacted with. It makes AJAX calls(using jQuery) frequently that cause a loading notification in the lower left-hand corner on the bottom of the screen to pop up. These notifications are distracting when you are viewing the display and I would like to remove/prevent Chrome from displaying these loading notifications at all. Is it possible to prevent these notification by any means, or perhaps even mask the javascript that causes these notifications?

  • Is there any mercurial hosting actually *on* Amazon EC2?

    - by Neil Trodden
I need to be able to update my ec2 instance from a label in mercurial when it resets so my application is always set at the right revision. It'd be great to be able to push my changes to a mercurial host and have my instances automatically update across the ec2 network when they are reset! I really don't want to host mercurial on the same instance (or even a dedicated instance)

  • OpenGL: How to clear only a part of the screen?

    - by Newbie
Is it possible to not clear entire screen when using glClear() function? I need to clear only a part of the screen to save some rendering time, otherwise i would have to redraw half of the screen every frame, even if nothing is happening on the other half. Of course this should be done as quickly (or quickier) as the glClear() is now.

  • How to add a method to an existing class in PHP?

    - by sombe
I'm using WordPress as a CMS, and I want to extend one of its classes without having to inherit from another class; i.e. I simply want to "add" more methods to that class: class A { function do_a() { echo 'a'; } } then: function insert_this_function_into_class_A() { echo 'b'; } (some way of inserting the latter into A class) and: A::insert_this_function_into_class_A(); # b Is this even possible in tenacious PHP?
