• the fastest VC++ Compiler

  Hello, What is the fastest VC++ compiler possible. I want to compile VC++ version of LZMA. I did compile it using Visual Studio .NET, but it is not fast enough for my job. In addition, I need to change the Compiler settings in order to make it as fast as possible. I would appreciate if you introduce me a fast compiler and/or some information about its settings.   I lack understanding of some basic MVC concepts, despite all my searching. I created an MVC project in Visual Studio, which contains the partial view _LogOnPartial.shtml. I just want to access information within the view pertaining to the user, to put in a user dropdown menu. When I try to put this at the top of the partial view cshtml page I get the above error: @model MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository When I try this I also get an error: @Html.Partial("_LogOnPartial", MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository) 'MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository' is a 'type', which is not valid in the given context

• TFS 2008 checks out code automatically on edit

  I am working on a Visual Studio 2008 project that is already added to TFS server. I am not sure which settings and policies have been configured for the TFS (this is done by a separate dept, not developers) Every time I make an edit to a code file , the file is checked out automatically (without explicitly checking out the code file myself) Please help me locate this setting or policy because it is not very useful at the moment. Sometime you want to make a local change to try out something, and not necessarily check out the code....

  Hello! I want to install Windows XP on my dell laptop which has pre installed Windows7 on it. I want windows Xp on my system because of my project issue. Now the problem is Windows7 does not allow to install Windows Xp on my system. I dont mind if windows 7 gets replaced by Windows XP,all i want is windows XP on my system.I am not getting the way to install XP. • Why does my count(*) query time out but the inline view whose records it is counting does not?

  Can't figure this one out... when I execute a select query it shows an explain plan cost of ~4500 and takes ~3 seconds to return. When I wrap that query (no changes) inside of: select count(*) from ( /*query here*/ ) It times out. It's at 5 minutes and counting now. I tried this in SQL Developer and Aqua Data Studio -- same results.

What is the easiest way to get this data into a local binary file, preferably without having to write a throw-away console application? I have tried using SQL Server Management Studio but this returns a hex encoded binary string, rather than raw binary data (even with the "results to file" option).

  I have a developer that is having trouble connecting to a SQL Server instance by entering the server name (local)\HIS_SERVER_INSTANCE into Visual Studio-Server Explorer. If he replaces (local) with his machine name, it connects fine. I have had similar issues before but they seemed to fix themselves. Does anyone know a fix for this?

  When I call cin or getline with cin in my Visual Studio 2010 C++ app, I can enter something in the console (as it should be), but the right-click context menu is "blocked". It doesn't appear - this means I and my clients are not able to use copy and paste. How to enable the context menu in the console with cin?
