When I click on a hyperlink in Excel 2004 for Mac, I get a warning message saying that the file might contain a virus. Is it possible to turn this warning off? If so, how?
I've been using Coda recently. It's a great program, but overkill for just a multi session Mac terminal app. Know of a better alternative, especially with a command snippet library function?
Is it possible to get a iTunes to send a (Mac OS X) Growl notification when it's finished burning a CD? (GrowlTunes doesn't do that.) How?
Update: Can an AppleScript query iTunes on whether it's finished burning? Then an AppleScript could poll iTunes and issue a Growl notification when it's done.

What's a good, free (or cheap) Mac app I can use to record video via built-in webcam of a long lecture I'll be attending?
Thanks so much in advance for your help! I'm going to continue researching this question right now.
I'm pretty new to Macs and would like to familiarize myself with the latest Mac OS. Has anyone tried installing Snow Leopard in VM Ware? Is it possible without a lot of hacking around with it?
If I try to create a bootable USB stick by using dd to copy an ISO file to it, it usually works on PC but it won't appear in the boot menu of my Macbook. Is there an easy way to generate a bootable USB stick from an ISO file so that it would boot on a Mac?
My laptop has an ethernet connection, and there's another on the docking station.
Can I connect using both at the same time? Will they have different MAC addresses?
I'm assuming the ethernet port on the doc is just a passthru to the onboard ethernet - is that incorrect?
I know there is a system preferences pane to manually modify the file associations in Mac OS X Leopard. However, I'm curious where does Leopard actually store these information?
UPDATE: as I said, I'm not interested in methods to change them. I want to know the configuration file or database (like registry in Windows) where those mappings are stored.
Do you guys know any good free application for Mac OS X, that could store ideas, code snippets, files, etc?

I use Menu Meters to show me how much data is being sent and received by my Mac as a whole.
But (as far as I can tell), it doesn’t break it down by application. If there’s a lot of data being sent or received, it’d be nice to see which app is doing it.
Does anyone knows if it is possible to have more than 16 desktop "spaces" with Mac OS X Snow Leopard?
I know that it does not seem possible at all from the System Preferences settings, but I was wondering if there exists some software tools that would enable one to use more Spaces, say 20-25.
Thanks for the help.
I want to see the fullpath of the current folder I am viewing on my mac.

It's booting fine on 3 PCs where I've tried it.
But I can't get it to boot on a Mac (Intel). When pressing the alt key (or command key, I don't remember which one) during startup I can only choose the "Macintosh HD" and the USB stick doesn't appear.
Is it possible to set per-application volume levels under Mac OS X?
I would like to be able to turn the volume down on Entourage for new emails, but leave everything else at a pleasant level, adjusting media playback volumes via iTunes or the DVD app.
