  • Segmentation fault, shared library

    - by user1306184
    I get Segmentation Fault when I try to run my program. Can someone please help me find out what Im doing wrong? Compiling with this: g++ sms_out.cpp -o sms_out g++ -c -fPIC SMSDispatch.cpp g++ -shared SMSDispatch.o -o libSMSDispatch.so It should be a shared library and dynamic linking. I get Segmentation Fault when I try to run sms_out. //sms_out.cpp #include <iostream> #include<cstdlib> #include<fstream> #include<sstream> #include<string> #include "SMSDispatch.h" using namespace std; string sms = ""; void sendSMS(string sms) { SMSDispatch* sPtr=0; sPtr->sendSMS(sms); } int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { if(argv[1]) { string input = argv[1]; string test = "--author"; if(input == test) { cout << "s149113" << endl; return 0; } } string line = ""; string file = "sms_out.txt"; ifstream myfile(file.c_str()); while(getline(myfile, line)) { string idnr, landcode, number, error; istringstream linestream(line); unsigned short errorcode; //Split the sentence getline(linestream, idnr, '\t'); getline(linestream, landcode, ':'); getline(linestream, number, '\t'); getline(linestream, error); if(idnr == "") break; //Make string to int try { errorcode = atoi(error.c_str() ); } catch (exception &) { } //Put together landcode and tlfnumber string nr = landcode + number; string txt = "Thank you for your vote!"; if(errorcode == 100) txt = "Invalid question, please try again"; else if(errorcode == 110) txt = "Sorry, only one vote pr. number"; else if(errorcode == 200) txt = "Invalid alternative, please try again"; else if(errorcode == 300) txt = "Missing a statement after other, please try again"; else if(errorcode == 999) txt = "An error occurred, please try again"; sms += "{\"ID\":" + idnr + ",\"nr\":" + nr + ",\"txt\":" + "\"" + txt + "\"" + "}\n"; } cout << sms << endl; sendSMS(sms); } //SMSDispatch.h #include <string> #ifndef SMSDISPATCH_H #define SMSDISPATCH_H using namespace std; class SMSDispatch{ public: virtual void sendSMS(string json); }; #endif //SMSDispatch.cpp #include <iostream> #include <fstream> #include "SMSDispatch.h" using namespace std; /*virtual*/void SMSDispatch::sendSMS(string json) { ofstream myfile; myfile.open ("sms_out.log"); myfile << json; myfile.close(); } int main() { }

  • Calling popToRootViewControllerAnimated causing crash. How should I be doing this?

    - by Lewis42
    The app is for taking body measurements. The user can say I want to measure: legs, arms and neck, in the settings tab and in the main tab there is a view which loops round to take each measurement. This is achieved like so: i have tab controller the first tab has a navigation controller the first view controller on the storyboard and has one segue to itself the board loops round until it has all the measurements then it segues to a different controller the problem is: if the user changes which measurements they are taking in the settings tab, the first tab needs to completely reload, as if the app was just starting up, clearing down the whole nav stack etc. at the moment the tab controller calls popToRootViewControllerAnimated on the navigation controller in the measurements tab, but this is causing a crash. Each screen has a slider control and a call to titleForRow:forComponent: is being called on a deleted view causing it to crash. What am I doing wrong?! Here's the tab bar controller code // TabBarController.m // #import "TabBarController.h" #import "TodaysMeasurementObject.h" #import "AppDelegateProtocol.h" #import "AddMeasurementViewController.h" #import "ReadPerson.h" #import "AppDelegate.h" @interface TabBarController () <UITabBarControllerDelegate> @end @implementation TabBarController bool resetWizardView = false; - (id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil { self = [super initWithNibName:nibNameOrNil bundle:nibBundleOrNil]; if (self) { } return self; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Do any additional setup after loading the view. self.delegate = self; [[UIDevice currentDevice] beginGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(orientationChanged:) name:UIDeviceOrientationDidChangeNotification object:nil]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(measurementsSettingsUpdated:) name:@"MeasurementsSettingsUpdated" object:nil]; } - (void) measurementsSettingsUpdated:(NSNotification *) notification { // UINavigationController *navigationController = [self.viewControllers objectAtIndex:0]; // AddMeasurementViewController *addMeasurement = [[AddMeasurementViewController alloc] init]; // [navigationController setViewControllers: [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:addMeasurement, nil]]; resetWizardView = YES; } - (void) viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { if (![ReadPerson userHasRecords]) { [self setSelectedIndex:3]; } } - (void)orientationChanged:(NSNotification *)notification { // We must add a delay here, otherwise we'll swap in the new view // too quickly and we'll get an animation glitch [self performSelector:@selector(showGraphs) withObject:nil afterDelay:0]; } - (void)showGraphs { UIDeviceOrientation deviceOrientation = [UIDevice currentDevice].orientation; if (deviceOrientation == UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft && !isShowingLandscapeView) { [self performSegueWithIdentifier: @"toGraph" sender: self]; isShowingLandscapeView = YES; } else if (deviceOrientation != UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft && isShowingLandscapeView) { [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; isShowingLandscapeView = NO; } } - (void)viewDidUnload { [super viewDidUnload]; // Release any retained subviews of the main view. } - (void)dealloc { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] removeObserver:self]; [[UIDevice currentDevice] endGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { if(interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) { [self performSegueWithIdentifier: @"toGraph" sender: self]; } return false; } - (void)tabBarController:(UITabBarController *)tabBarController didSelectViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController { int tbi = tabBarController.selectedIndex; if (tbi == 0) { [[viewController view] setNeedsDisplay]; if (resetWizardView) { [(UINavigationController*)[self.viewControllers objectAtIndex:0] popToRootViewControllerAnimated: NO]; // ******* POP CALLED HERE ****** resetWizardView = false; } } } - (TodaysMeasurementObject*) theAppDataObject { id<AppDelegateProtocol> theDelegate = (id<AppDelegateProtocol>) [UIApplication sharedApplication].delegate; TodaysMeasurementObject* theDataObject; theDataObject = (TodaysMeasurementObject*) theDelegate.theAppDataObject; return theDataObject; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotate { return NO; } - (NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait; } @end UPDATED - (void) measurementsSettingsUpdated:(NSNotification *) notification { NSMutableArray *viewControllers = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray: self.viewControllers]; UINavigationController *navigationController = [viewControllers objectAtIndex:0]; AddMeasurementViewController *addMeasurement = [[AddMeasurementViewController alloc] init]; [navigationController setViewControllers: [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:addMeasurement, nil]]; [viewControllers setObject:navigationController atIndexedSubscript:0]; self.viewControllers = viewControllers; } and removed the code from - tabBarController:didSelectViewController: but still the same error. I think the problem is that it's trying to get a value for the slide control after the view has been deleted. But some part of the view must still be alive...? Anyway to kill that off? Or leave it all alive??

  • Accessing Layout Items from inside Widget AppWidgetProvider

    - by cam4mav
    I am starting to go insane trying to figure this out. It seems like it should be very easy, I'm starting to wonder if it's possible. What I am trying to do is create a home screen widget, that only contains an ImageButton. When it is pressed, the idea is to change some setting (like the wi-fi toggle) and then change the Buttons image. I have the ImageButton declared like this in my main.xml <ImageButton android:id="@+id/buttonOne" android:src="@drawable/button_normal_ringer" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center" /> my AppWidgetProvider class, named ButtonWidget * note that the RemoteViews class is a locally stored variable. this allowed me to get access to the RViews layout elements... or so I thought. @Override public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { remoteViews = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.main); Intent active = new Intent(context, ButtonWidget.class); active.setAction(VIBRATE_UPDATE); active.putExtra("msg","TESTING"); PendingIntent actionPendingIntent = PendingIntent.getBroadcast(context, 0, active, 0); remoteViews.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.buttonOne, actionPendingIntent); appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetIds, remoteViews); } @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { // v1.5 fix that doesn't call onDelete Action final String action = intent.getAction(); Log.d("onReceive",action); if (AppWidgetManager.ACTION_APPWIDGET_DELETED.equals(action)) { final int appWidgetId = intent.getExtras().getInt( AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID, AppWidgetManager.INVALID_APPWIDGET_ID); if (appWidgetId != AppWidgetManager.INVALID_APPWIDGET_ID) { this.onDeleted(context, new int[] { appWidgetId }); } } else { // check, if our Action was called if (intent.getAction().equals(VIBRATE_UPDATE)) { String msg = "null"; try { msg = intent.getStringExtra("msg"); } catch (NullPointerException e) { Log.e("Error", "msg = null"); } Log.d("onReceive",msg); if(remoteViews != null){ Log.d("onReceive",""+remoteViews.getLayoutId()); remoteViews.setImageViewResource(R.id.buttonOne, R.drawable.button_pressed_ringer); Log.d("onReceive", "tried to switch"); } else{ Log.d("F!", "--naughty language used here!!!--"); } } super.onReceive(context, intent); } } so, I've been testing this and the onReceive method works great, I'm able to send notifications and all sorts of stuff (removed from code for ease of reading) the one thing I can't do is change any properties of the view elements. To try and fix this, I made RemoteViews a local and static private variable. Using log's I was able to see that When multiple instances of the app are on screen, they all refer to the one instance of RemoteViews. perfect for what I'm trying to do The trouble is in trying to change the image of the ImageButton. I can do this from within the onUpdate method using this. remoteViews.setImageViewResource(R.id.buttonOne, R.drawable.button_pressed_ringer); that doesn't do me any good though once the widget is created. For some reason, even though its inside the same class, being inside the onReceive method makes that line not work. That line used to throw a Null pointer as a matter of fact, until I changed the variable to static. now it passes the null test, refers to the same layoutId as it did at the start, reads the line, but it does nothing. Its like the code isn't even there, just keeps chugging along. SO...... Is there any way to modify layout elements from within a widget after the widget has been created!? I want to do this based on the environment, not with a configuration activity launch. I've been looking at various questions and this seems to be an issue that really hasn't been solved, such as link text and link text oh and for anyone who finds this and wants a good starting tutorial for widgets, this is easy to follow (though a bit old, it gets you comfortable with widgets) .pdf link text hopefully someone can help here. I kinda have the feeling that this is illegal and there is a different way to go about this. I would LOVE to be told another approach!!!! Thanks

  • win32: TextOut not being displayed

    - by KaiserJohaan
    Hello again, I recently having my mainwindow write text by using WM_PAINT, but now I realise it was maybe not the best message to do so in, so I'm trying another version; The mainwindow contains a menu, upon clicing a menu item the ID_FILE_PID msg is sent and it builds the 4 new windows aswell as displays text in the mainwindow (paintEditSigns function). The 4 windows works fine but the text dosn't work at all, unless I do it in the main() function as shown... what on earth is this? O_O BTW: I still have no clue why the code-display on StackOverflow keeps looking so wierd when I post, why is this? switch(message) { case WM_COMMAND: switch (LOWORD(wParam)) { case ID_FILE_PID: { HWND hWndButton; HWND hWndEdit; HWND hWndEdit2; HWND hWndDisplay; // drawing the text in mainwindow paintEditSigns(); -- does not do anything here! // adding new windows in the mainwindow hWndButton = CreateWindowEx(0,TEXT("BUTTON"),"Modify",WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | BS_DEFPUSHBUTTON, 170,56,80,30,hWnd,(HMENU)ID_BUTTON,hThisInstance,NULL); hWndEdit = CreateWindowEx(0,RICHEDIT_CLASS,TEXT(""),WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | WS_BORDER, 120,30,80,25,hWnd,(HMENU)ID_EDIT,hThisInstance,NULL); hWndEdit2 = CreateWindowEx(0,RICHEDIT_CLASS,TEXT(""),WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | WS_BORDER, 220,30,80,25,hWnd,(HMENU)ID_EDIT2,hThisInstance,NULL); hWndDisplay = CreateWindowEx(0,TEXT("STATIC"),NULL,WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | WS_BORDER, 0,100,450,140,hWnd,(HMENU)ID_DISPLAY,hThisInstance,NULL); break; } ..... // // Main function // int WINAPI WinMain(HINSTANCE hInstance, HINSTANCE hPrevInstance, LPSTR lpCmdLine, int nCmdShow) { HWND hWnd; WNDCLASSEX wc; ZeroMemory(&wc, sizeof(WNDCLASSEX)); hThisInstance = hInstance; LoadLibrary("Riched20.dll"); wc.cbSize = sizeof(WNDCLASSEX); wc.style = CS_HREDRAW | CS_VREDRAW; wc.lpfnWndProc = WindowProc; wc.hInstance = hInstance; wc.lpszMenuName = MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDR_MYMENU); if(!(wc.hIcon = LoadIcon(hInstance,MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDI_MYICON)))) { HRESULT res = GetLastError(); } wc.hCursor = LoadCursor(NULL, IDC_ARROW); wc.hbrBackground = (HBRUSH)COLOR_WINDOW; wc.lpszClassName = TEXT("testcpp"); RegisterClassEx(&wc); hWnd = CreateWindowEx(NULL, wc.lpszClassName, TEXT("test"), WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW, 300, 200, 450, 300, NULL, NULL, hInstance, NULL); ShowWindow(hWnd,nCmdShow); //paintEditSigns() -- here it works, but not when in the message part MSG msg; while (GetMessage(&msg, NULL,0,0)) { TranslateMessage(&msg); DispatchMessage(&msg); } return msg.wParam; } void paintEditSigns() { HFONT hf = createFont(); PAINTSTRUCT ps; HWND hWnd = FindWindow(TEXT("testcpp"),TEXT("test")); HBRUSH hbruzh = CreateSolidBrush(RGB(0,0,0)); HDC hdz = BeginPaint(hWnd,&ps); string s = "Memory Address"; SelectBrush(hdz,hbruzh); SelectFont(hdz,hf); TextOut(hdz,0,100,s.c_str(),s.length()); EndPaint(hWnd,&ps); DeleteObject(hbruzh); UpdateWindow(hWnd); } HFONT createFont() { HDC hdc; long lfHeight; hdc = GetDC(NULL); lfHeight = -MulDiv(12, GetDeviceCaps(hdc, LOGPIXELSY), 72); ReleaseDC(NULL, hdc); HFONT hf = CreateFont(lfHeight, 0, 0, 0, 0, TRUE, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, "MS Sans Serif"); return hf; }

  • LinkedList Wrong Display(string builder)

    - by Chris
    Hello, The following program is a basic linked list divided in 3 classes. In the tester class (main) i add several numbers to the list (sorted). But insteed of getting the numbers as a result i get the result: LinkedList.LinkedList Is something wrong with the stringbuilder (the program was first in java where a string buffer was used, but that should be the same i think?) LinkedListTester.cs using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace LinkedList { public class LinkedListTester { static void Main(string[] args) { LinkedList ll = new LinkedList(); ll.addDataSorted(5); ll.addDataSorted(7); ll.addDataSorted(13); ll.addDataSorted(1); ll.addDataSorted(17); ll.addDataSorted(8); Console.WriteLine(ll); } } }/LinkedList/ LinkedList.cs using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace LinkedList { public class LinkedList { //toestand private LinkedListNode first; private LinkedListNode last; //gedrag public LinkedList() { first = null; last = null; } public void addDataInFront(int data) { first = new LinkedListNode(data, first); if (last == null){ last = first; } }/*addDataInFront*/ public void addDataToBack(int data) { if (first == null) { addDataInFront(data); } else { last.setNext(new LinkedListNode(data, null)); last = last.getNext(); } }/*addDataToBack*/ public void addDataSorted(int data) { if (first == null || first.getData() > data) { addDataInFront(data); } else { LinkedListNode currentNode = first; while (currentNode.getNext() != null && currentNode.getNext().getData() < data) { currentNode = currentNode.getNext(); } currentNode.setNext(new LinkedListNode(data, currentNode.getNext())); currentNode = currentNode.getNext(); if (currentNode.getNext() == null) { last = currentNode; } } }/*addDataSorted*/ public String toString() { StringBuilder Buf = new StringBuilder(); LinkedListNode currentNode = first; while (currentNode != null) { Buf.Append(currentNode.getData()); Buf.Append(' '); currentNode = currentNode.getNext(); } return Buf.ToString(); }/*toString*/ }/*LinkedList*/ }/LinkedList/ LinkedListNode: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace LinkedList { public class LinkedListNode { //toestand private int data; private LinkedListNode next; private LinkedListNode previous; //gedrag public LinkedListNode(int data, LinkedListNode next) { this.data = data; this.next = next; this.previous = null; } public LinkedListNode(int data, LinkedListNode next, LinkedListNode previous) { this.data = data; this.next = next; this.previous = previous; } public LinkedListNode getNext() { return next; } public LinkedListNode getPrevious() { return previous; } public void setNext(LinkedListNode next) { this.next = next; } public void setPrevious(LinkedListNode previous) { this.previous = previous; } public int getData() { return data; } }/*LinkedListNode*/ }/LinkedList/

  • Right-aligning button in a grid with possibly no content - stretch grid to always fill the page

    - by Peter Perhác
    Hello people, I am losing my patience with this. I am working on a Windows Phone 7 application and I can't figure out what layout manager to use to achieve the following: Basically, when I use a Grid as the layout root, I can't make the grid to stretch to the size of the phone application page. When the main content area is full, all is well and the button sits where I want it to sit. However, in case the page content is very short, the grid is only as wide as to accommodate its content and then the button (which I am desperate to keep near the right edge of the screen) moves away from the right edge. If I replace the grid and use a vertically oriented stack panel for the layout root, the button sits where I want it but then the content area is capable of growing beyond the bottom edge. So, when I place a listbox full of items into the main content area, it doesn't adjust its height to be completely in view, but the majority of items in that listbox are just rendered below the bottom edge of the display area. I have tried using a third-party DockPanel layout manager and then docked the button in it's top section and set the button's HorizontalAlignment="Right" but the result was the same as with the grid, it also shrinks in size when there isn't enough content in the content area (or when title is short). How do I do this then? ==EDIT== I tried WPCoder's XAML, only I replaced the dummy text box with what I would have in a real page (stackpanel) and placed a listbox into the ContentPanel grid. I noticed that what I had before and what WPCoder is suggesting is very similar. Here's my current XAML and the page still doesn't grow to fit the width of the page and I get identical results to what I had before: <phone:PhoneApplicationPage x:Name="categoriesPage" x:Class="CatalogueBrowser.CategoriesPage" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:phone="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Phone.Controls;assembly=Microsoft.Phone" xmlns:shell="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Phone.Shell;assembly=Microsoft.Phone" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" FontFamily="{StaticResource PhoneFontFamilyNormal}" FontSize="{StaticResource PhoneFontSizeNormal}" Foreground="{StaticResource PhoneForegroundBrush}" SupportedOrientations="PortraitOrLandscape" Orientation="Portrait" mc:Ignorable="d" d:DesignWidth="480" d:DesignHeight="768" xmlns:ctrls="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Phone.Controls;assembly=Microsoft.Phone.Controls.Toolkit" shell:SystemTray.IsVisible="True"> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="Transparent"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" VerticalAlignment="Center" > <TextBlock Text="Browsing:" Margin="10,10" Style="{StaticResource PhoneTextTitle3Style}" /> <TextBlock x:Name="ListTitle" Text="{Binding DisplayName}" Margin="0,10" Style="{StaticResource PhoneTextTitle3Style}" /> </StackPanel> <Button Grid.Column="1" x:Name="btnRefineSearch" Content="Refine Search" Style="{StaticResource buttonBarStyle}" FontSize="14" /> </Grid> <Grid x:Name="ContentPanel" Grid.Row="1"> <ListBox x:Name="CategoryList" ItemsSource="{Binding Categories}" Style="{StaticResource CatalogueList}" SelectionChanged="CategoryList_SelectionChanged"/> </Grid> </Grid> </phone:PhoneApplicationPage> This is what the page with the above XAML markup looks like in the emulator:

  • JQuery Slide Onclick

    - by everreadyeddy
    I am using the code in example http://www.faridesign.net/2012/05/create-a-awesome-vertical-tabbed-content-area-using-css3-jquery/ I am trying to slide the div tags on a button click on the list so the current tab-content will slide in and the tab just clicked will slide out. I currently have the working example where I can switch between divs fine, but I need to slide in and out between divs. Is there any script I can do this with the current code. using .slide or .effect instead of .show() looks to display two divs at the same time. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. <div id="v-nav"> <ul> <li tab="tab1" class="first current">Main Screen</li> <li tab="tab2">Div 1</li> <li tab="tab3">Div 2</li> <li tab="tab4">Div 3</li> <li tab="tab5">Div 4</li> <li tab="tab6">Div 5</li> <li tab="tab7">Div 6</li> <li tab="tab8" class="last">Div 7</li> </ul> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Main Screen</h4> </div> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Div 1</h4> </div> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Div 2</h4> </div> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Div 3</h4> </div> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Div 4</h4> </div> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Div 5</h4> </div> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Div 6</h4> </div> <div class="tab-content"> <h4>Div 7</h4> </div> My Script looks like $(function () { var items = $('#v-nav>ul>li').each(function () { $(this).click(function () { //remove previous class and add it to clicked tab items.removeClass('current'); $(this).addClass('current'); //hide all content divs and show current one //$('#v-nav>div.tab-content').hide().eq(items.index($(this))).show(); //$('#v-nav>div.tab-content').hide().eq(items.index($(this))).fadeIn(100); $('#v-nav>div.tab-content').hide().eq(items.index($(this))).slideToggle(); window.location.hash = $(this).attr('tab'); }); }); if (location.hash) { showTab(location.hash); } else { showTab("tab1"); } function showTab(tab) { $("#v-nav ul li:[tab*=" + tab + "]").click(); } // Bind the event hashchange, using jquery-hashchange-plugin $(window).hashchange(function () { showTab(location.hash.replace("#", "")); }) // Trigger the event hashchange on page load, using jquery-hashchange-plugin $(window).hashchange(); });

  • How to determine edges in an image optimally?

    I recently was put in front of the problem of cropping and resizing images. I needed to crop the 'main content' of an image for example if i had an image similar to this: the result should be an image with the msn content without the white margins(left& right). I search on the X axis for the first and last color change and on the Y axis the same thing. The problem is that traversing the image line by line takes a while..for an image that is 2000x1600px it takes up to 2 seconds to return the CropRect = x1,y1,x2,y2 data. I tried to make for each coordinate a traversal and stop on the first value found but it didn't work in all test cases..sometimes the returned data wasn't the expected one and the duration of the operations was similar.. Any idea how to cut down the traversal time and discovery of the rectangle round the 'main content'? public static CropRect EdgeDetection(Bitmap Image, float Threshold) { CropRect cropRectangle = new CropRect(); int lowestX = 0; int lowestY = 0; int largestX = 0; int largestY = 0; lowestX = Image.Width; lowestY = Image.Height; //find the lowest X bound; for (int y = 0; y < Image.Height - 1; ++y) { for (int x = 0; x < Image.Width - 1; ++x) { Color currentColor = Image.GetPixel(x, y); Color tempXcolor = Image.GetPixel(x + 1, y); Color tempYColor = Image.GetPixel(x, y + 1); if ((Math.Sqrt(((currentColor.R - tempXcolor.R) * (currentColor.R - tempXcolor.R)) + ((currentColor.G - tempXcolor.G) * (currentColor.G - tempXcolor.G)) + ((currentColor.B - tempXcolor.B) * (currentColor.B - tempXcolor.B))) > Threshold)) { if (lowestX > x) lowestX = x; if (largestX < x) largestX = x; } if ((Math.Sqrt(((currentColor.R - tempYColor.R) * (currentColor.R - tempYColor.R)) + ((currentColor.G - tempYColor.G) * (currentColor.G - tempYColor.G)) + ((currentColor.B - tempYColor.B) * (currentColor.B - tempYColor.B))) > Threshold)) { if (lowestY > y) lowestY = y; if (largestY < y) largestY = y; } } } if (lowestX < Image.Width / 4) cropRectangle.X = lowestX - 3 > 0 ? lowestX - 3 : 0; else cropRectangle.X = 0; if (lowestY < Image.Height / 4) cropRectangle.Y = lowestY - 3 > 0 ? lowestY - 3 : 0; else cropRectangle.Y = 0; cropRectangle.Width = largestX - lowestX + 8 > Image.Width ? Image.Width : largestX - lowestX + 8; cropRectangle.Height = largestY + 8 > Image.Height ? Image.Height - lowestY : largestY - lowestY + 8; return cropRectangle; } }

  • Are all <canvas> tag dimensions in pixels?

    - by Simon Omega
    Are all tag dimensions in pixels? I am asking because I understood them to be. But my math is broken or I am just not grasping something here. I have been doing python mostly and just jumped back into Java Scripting. If I am just doing something stupid let me know. For a game I am writing, I wanted to have a blocky gradient. I have the following: HTML <canvas id="heir"></canvas> CSS @media screen { body { font-size: 12pt } /* Game Rendering Space */ canvas { width: 640px; height: 480px; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; } } JavaScript (Shortened) function testDraw ( thecontext ) { var myblue = 255; thecontext.save(); // Save All Settings (Before this Function was called) for (var i = 0; i < 480; i = i + 10 ) { if (myblue.toString(16).length == 1) { thecontext.fillStyle = "#00000" + myblue.toString(16); } else { thecontext.fillStyle = "#0000" + myblue.toString(16); } thecontext.fillRect(0, i, 640, 10); myblue = myblue - 2; }; thecontext.restore(); // Restore Settings to Save Point (Removing Styles, etc...) } function main () { var targetcontext = document.getElementById(“main”).getContext("2d"); testDraw(targetcontext); } To me this should produce a series of 640w by 10h pixel bars. In Google Chrome and Fire Fox I get 15 bars. To me that means ( 480 / 15 ) is 32 pixel high bars. So I change the code to: function testDraw ( thecontext ) { var myblue = 255; thecontext.save(); // Save All Settings (Before this Function was called) for (var i = 0; i < 16; i++ ) { if (myblue.toString(16).length == 1) { thecontext.fillStyle = "#00000" + myblue.toString(16); } else { thecontext.fillStyle = "#0000" + myblue.toString(16); } thecontext.fillRect(0, (i * 10), 640, 10); myblue = myblue - 10; }; thecontext.restore(); // Restore Settings to Save Point (Removing Styles, etc...) } And get a true 32 pixel height result for comparison. Other than the fact that the first code snippet has shades of blue rendering in non-visible portions of the they are measuring 32 pixels. Now back to the Original Java Code... If I inspect the tag in Chrome it reports 640 x 480. If I inspect it in Fire Fox it reports 640 x 480. BUT! Fire Fox exports the original code to png at 300 x 150 (which is 15 rows of 10). Is it some how being resized to 640 x 480 by the CSS instead of being set to a true 640 x 480? Why, how, what? O_o I confused...

  • Concatenate, sort and swap array in Java

    - by sblck
    I am trying to concatenate two arrays into new array, sort in order, and swap two values of index. I'm kind of new to java and only use C before so having a hard time handling an Object. In main method it declares two object arrays IntVector vector = new IntVector(3); and IntVector vector2 = new IntVector(3); I can only do this if the types are int[], but I want to use as an object How should I code the concat, sort, and swap method? public class IntVector { private int[] items_; private int itemCount_; private IntVector(int[] data, int n) { items_ = data.clone(); itemCount_ = n; } public IntVector(int itemSize) { itemCount_ =0; if(itemSize<1) itemSize =10; items_ = new int[itemSize]; } public void push(int value) { if(itemCount_ + 1 >= items_.length) overflow(); items_[itemCount_++] = value; } public void log() { for (int i=0 ; i<itemCount_; ++i) { System.out.print(items_[i]); if(i<itemCount_ -1) System.out.println(); } } public void overflow() { int[] newItems = new int[items_.length * 2]; for(int i=0 ; i<itemCount_; ++i) { newItems[i] = items_[i]; } items_=newItems; } public int getValue(int index) { if(index < 0 || index >= itemCount_) { System.out.println("[error][IntVector][setValue] Incorrect index=" + index); return 0; } return items_[index]; } public void setValue(int index, int value) { if(index < 0 || index >= itemCount_) { System.out.println("[error][IntVector][setValue] Incorrect index=" + index); return ; } items_[index] = value; } public IntVector clone() { return new IntVector(items_, itemCount_); } public IntVector concat() { return null; } public IntVector sort() { return null; } public IntVector swap() { return null; } public static void main(String[] args) { IntVector vector = new IntVector(3); IntVector vector2 = new IntVector(3); vector.push(8); vector.push(200); vector.push(3); vector.push(41); IntVector cloneVector = vector.clone(); vector2.push(110); vector2.push(12); vector2.push(7); vector2.push(141); vector2.push(-32); IntVector concatResult = vector.concat(vector2); IntVector sortResult = concatResult.sort(); IntVector swapResult = sortResult.clone(); //swapResult.swap(1,5); System.out.print("vector : "); vector.log(); System.out.print("\n\ncloneVector : "); cloneVector.log(); System.out.print("\n\nvector2 : "); vector2.log(); System.out.print("\n\nconcatvector : "); concatResult.log(); System.out.print("vector : "); vector.log(); System.out.print("vector : "); vector.log(); } }

  • Purpose of overloading operators in C++?

    - by Geo Drawkcab
    What is the main purpose of overloading operators in C++? In the code below, << and >> are overloaded; what is the advantage to doing so? #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; class book { string name,gvari; double cost; int year; public: book(){}; book(string a, string b, double c, int d) { a=name;b=gvari;c=cost;d=year; } ~book() {} double setprice(double a) { return a=cost; } friend ostream& operator <<(ostream& , book&); void printbook(){ cout<<"wignis saxeli "<<name<<endl; cout<<"wignis avtori "<<gvari<<endl; cout<<"girebuleba "<<cost<<endl; cout<<"weli "<<year<<endl; } }; ostream& operator <<(ostream& out, book& a){ out<<"wignis saxeli "<<a.name<<endl; out<<"wignis avtori "<<a.gvari<<endl; out<<"girebuleba "<<a.cost<<endl; out<<"weli "<<a.year<<endl; return out; } class library_card : public book { string nomeri; int raod; public: library_card(){}; library_card( string a, int b){a=nomeri;b=raod;} ~library_card() {}; void printcard(){ cout<<"katalogis nomeri "<<nomeri<<endl; cout<<"gacemis raodenoba "<<raod<<endl; } friend ostream& operator <<(ostream& , library_card&); }; ostream& operator <<(ostream& out, library_card& b) { out<<"katalogis nomeri "<<b.nomeri<<endl; out<<"gacemis raodenoba "<<b.raod<<endl; return out; } int main() { book A("robizon kruno","giorgi",15,1992); library_card B("910CPP",123); A.printbook(); B.printbook(); A.setprice(15); B.printbook(); system("pause"); return 0; }

  • PHP $_GET and $_POST are returning empty arrays--trying to paginate SQL data

    - by George88
    I have set up the following: Database class ($db) Pagination class ($paginator) I am attempting to write a basic system to let me administrate pages. I have a page "page_manager.php" in which I include both my database class (database.php) and my pagination class (paginate.php). In my pagination class I have a function which echoes my SQL data. I've come up with a way to echo an HTML < select element with the necessary IDs, which allows me to successfully echo the corresponding results (10 per page), based on the value of the < select element. So, "1" will echo the first 10 results in the database, "2" will echo from 11-20, "3" will echo from 21-30, etc., etc.. I have added an onChange event to the < select element which will copy its value (using "this.value") to a hidden form field. I then submit this form using document.getElementById().submit(); This will then add the $_GET variable to the URL, so the URL becomes ".../?pagenumber_form=X". However, when I try to grab this value back from the URL, the $_GET['pagenumber_form'] is empty. Some code: <span style='font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10pt;'>Page #</span> <select id="page_number_selection" onchange='javascript: document.getElementById("pagenumber_form").value = this.value; document.getElementById("pagenumber").submit();'> <?php for($i = 1; $i <= $this->num_pages; $i++) echo"<option id='" . $i . "'>" . $i . "</option>"; ?> </select> <form name="pagenumber" id="pagenumber" action="" method="get"> <input type="text" name="pagenumber_form" id="pagenumber_form" /> </form> So, I've tried using $_POST as well, but the same thing happens. I want to use $_GET, for a couple of reasons: it's easier to see what is happening with my values and the data I'm using doesn't need to be secure. To recap: the $_GET variable is being added to the URL when I change the < select element, and the corresponding value gets added to the URL as: ".../?pagenumber_form=X", but when I try to use the value in PHP, for example... $page_number = $_GET['pagenumber_form']; ... I get a NULL value. :-( Can anybody help me out please? Thank you. EDIT: I've just made a discovery. If I move my print_r($_GET) to my main index page, then the superglobals are returning as expected. My site structure is like this: index.php - JavaScript buttons use AJAX HTTP requests to include the "responseText" as the .innerHTML of my main < div . The "responseText" is the contents the page itself, in this case page_manager.php, which in turn includes pagination.php. So in other words, my site is built from PHP includes, which doesn't seem to be compatible with HTTP superglobals. Any idea how I can get around this problem? Thank you :-).

  • Runtime error in C code (strange double conversion)

    - by Miro Hassan
    I have a strange runtime error in my C code. The Integers comparison here works fine. But in the Decimals comparison, I always get that the second number is larger than the first number, which is false. I am pretty new to C and programming in general, so this is a complex application to me. #include <stdio.h> #include <stdbool.h> #include <stdlib.h> int choose; long long neLimit = -1000000000; long long limit = 1000000000; bool big(a,b) { if ((a >= limit) || (b >= limit)) return true; else if ((a <= neLimit) || (b <= neLimit)) return true; return false; } void largerr(a,b) { if (a > b) printf("\nThe First Number is larger ..\n"); else if (a < b) printf("\nThe Second Number is larger ..\n"); else printf("\nThe Two Numbers are Equal .. \n"); } int main() { system("color e && title Numbers Comparison && echo off && cls"); start:{ printf("Choose a Type of Comparison :\n\t1. • Alphabetically Ordering an array of words

    - by Genesis
    I'm studying C on my own in preparation for my upcoming semester of school and was wondering what I was doing wrong with my code so far. If Things look weird it is because this is part of a much bigger grab bag of sorting functions I'm creating to get a sense of how to sort numbers,letters,arrays,and the like! I'm basically having some troubles with the manipulation of strings in C currently. Also, I'm quite limited in my knowledge of C at the moment! My main Consists of this: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> int numbers[10]; int size; int main(void){ setvbuf(stdout,NULL,_IONBF,0); //This is magical code that allows me to input. int wordNumber; int lengthOfWord = 50; printf("How many words do you want to enter: "); scanf("%i", &wordNumber); printf("%i\n",wordNumber); char words[wordNumber][lengthOfWord]; printf("Enter %i words:",wordNumber); int i; for(i=0;i<wordNumber+1;i++){ //+1 is because my words[0] is blank. fgets(&words[i], 50, stdin); } for(i=1;i<wordNumber+1;i++){ // Same as the above comment! printf("%s", words[i]); //prints my words out! } alphabetize(words,wordNumber); //I want to sort these arrays with this function. } My sorting "method" I am trying to construct is below! This function is seriously flawed, but I'd thought I'd keep it all to show you where my mind was headed when writing this. void alphabetize(char a[][],int size){ // This wont fly. size = size+1; int wordNumber; int lengthOfWord; char sortedWords[wordNumber][lengthOfWord]; //In effort for the for loop int i; int j; for(i=1;i<size;i++){ //My effort to copy over this array for manipulation for(j=1;j<size;j++){ sortedWords[i][j] = a[i][j]; } } //This should be kinda what I want when ordering words alphabetically, right? for(i=1;i<size;i++){ for(j=2;j<size;j++){ if(strcmp(sortedWords[i],sortedWords[j]) > 0){ char* temp = sortedWords[i]; sortedWords[i] = sortedWords[j]; sortedWords[j] = temp; } } } for(i=1;i<size;i++){ printf("%s, ",sortedWords[i]); } } I guess I also have another question as well... When I use fgets() it's doing this thing where I get a null word for the first spot of the array. I have had other issues recently trying to scanf() char[] in certain ways specifically spacing my input word variables which "magically" gets rid of the first null space before the character. An example of this is using scanf() to write "Hello" and getting " Hello" or " ""Hello"... Appreciate any thoughts on this, I've got all summer to study up so this doesn't need to be answered with haste! Also, thank you stack overflow as a whole for being so helpful in the past. This may be my first post, but I have been a frequent visitor for the past couple of years and it's been one of the best places for helpful advice/tips.

  • Pagination links do not work properly - incorrect PHP function??

    - by ClarkSKent
    Hi everyone, I am still trying to figure out how to fix my pagination script to work properly. the problem I am having is when I click any of the pagination number links to go the next page, the new content does not load. literally nothing happens and when looking at the console in Firebug, nothing is sent or loaded. I have on the main page 3 links to filter the content and display it. When any of these links are clicked the results are loaded and displayed along with the associated pagination numbers for that specific content. I believe the problem is coming from the function(generate_pagination.php (seen below)). Here is the main page so you can how I am including and starting the function(I'm new to php): <?php include_once('generate_pagination.php'); ?> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery_pagination.js"></script> <div id="loading" ></div> <div id="content" data-page="1"></div> <ul id="pagination"> <?php generate_pagination($sql) ?> </ul> <br /> <br /> <a href="#" class="category" id="marketing">Marketing</a> <a href="#" class="category" id="automotive">Automotive</a> <a href="#" class="category" id="sports">Sports</a> This is as mentioned above, where i think the problem persists since I know nothing of the function formats and how to properly incorporate them: <?php function generate_pagination($sql) { include_once('config.php'); $per_page = 3; //Calculating no of pages $result = mysql_query($sql); $count = mysql_fetch_row($result); $pages = ceil($count[0]/$per_page); //Pagination Numbers for($i=1; $i<=$pages; $i++) { echo '<li class="page_numbers" id="'.$i.'">'.$i.'</li>'; } } $ids=$_GET['ids']; generate_pagination("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM explore WHERE category='$ids'"); ?> I thought I might as well through in the jquery if someone wants to see: $(document).ready(function(){ //Display Loading Image function Display_Load() { $("#loading").fadeIn(900,0); $("#loading").html("<img src='bigLoader.gif' />"); } //Hide Loading Image function Hide_Load() { $("#loading").fadeOut('slow'); }; //Default Starting Page Results $("#pagination li:first").css({'color' : '#FF0084'}).css({'border' : 'none'}); Display_Load(); $("#content").load("pagination_data.php?page=1", Hide_Load()); //Pagination Click $("#pagination li").click(function(){ Display_Load(); //CSS Styles $("#pagination li") .css({'border' : 'solid #dddddd 1px'}) .css({'color' : '#0063DC'}); $(this) .css({'color' : '#FF0084'}) .css({'border' : 'none'}); //Loading Data var pageNum = this.id; $("#content").load("pagination_data.php?page=" + pageNum, function(){ $(this).attr('data-page', pageNum); Hide_Load(); }); }); // Editing below. // Sort content Marketing $("a.category").click(function() { Display_Load(); var this_id = $(this).attr('id'); $.get("pagination.php", { category: this.id }, function(data){ //Load your results into the page var pageNum = $('#content').attr('data-page'); $("#pagination").load('generate_pagination.php?category=' + pageNum +'&ids='+ this_id ); $("#content").load("filter_marketing.php?page=" + pageNum +'&id='+ this_id, Hide_Load()); }); }); }); Any help would be appreciated on getting the function to work properly. Thank you.

  • std::basic_string full specialization (g++ conflict)

    - by SoapBox
    I am trying to define a full specialization of std::basic_string< char, char_traits<char>, allocator<char> > which is typedef'd (in g++) by the <string> header. The problem is, if I include <string> first, g++ sees the typedef as an instantiation of basic_string and gives me errors. If I do my specialization first then I have no issues. I should be able to define my specialization after <string> is included. What do I have to do to be able to do that? My Code: #include <bits/localefwd.h> //#include <string> // <- uncommenting this line causes compilation to fail namespace std { template<> class basic_string< char, char_traits<char>, allocator<char> > { public: int blah() { return 42; } size_t size() { return 0; } const char *c_str() { return ""; } void reserve(int) {} void clear() {} }; } #include <string> #include <iostream> int main() { std::cout << std::string().blah() << std::endl; } The above code works fine. But, if I uncomment the first #include <string> line, I get the following compiler errors: blah.cpp:7: error: specialization of ‘std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >’ after instantiation blah.cpp:7: error: redefinition of ‘class std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >’ /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stringfwd.h:52: error: previous definition of ‘class std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >’ blah.cpp: In function ‘int main()’: blah.cpp:22: error: ‘class std::string’ has no member named ‘blah’ Line 52 of /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stringfwd.h: template<typename _CharT, typename _Traits = char_traits<_CharT>, typename _Alloc = allocator<_CharT> > class basic_string; As far as I know this is just a forward delcaration of the template, NOT an instantiation as g++ claims. Line 56 of /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stringfwd.h: typedef basic_string<char> string; As far as I know this is just a typedef, NOT an instantiation either. So why are these lines conflicting with my code? What can I do to fix this other than ensuring that my code is always included before <string>?

  • [C++] Adding a string or char array to a byte vector

    - by xeross
    I'm currently working on a class to create and read out packets send through the network, so far I have it working with 16bit and 8bit integers (Well unsigned but still). Now the problem is I've tried numerous ways of copying it over but somehow the _buffer got mangled, it segfaulted, or the result was wrong. I'd appreciate if someone could show me a working example. My current code can be seen below. Thanks, Xeross Main #include <iostream> #include <stdio.h> #include "Packet.h" using namespace std; int main(int argc, char** argv) { cout << "#################################" << endl; cout << "# Internal Use Only #" << endl; cout << "# Codename PACKETSTORM #" << endl; cout << "#################################" << endl; cout << endl; Packet packet = Packet(); packet.SetOpcode(0x1f4d); cout << "Current opcode is: " << packet.GetOpcode() << endl << endl; packet.add(uint8_t(5)) .add(uint16_t(4000)) .add(uint8_t(5)); for(uint8_t i=0; i<10;i++) printf("Byte %u = %x\n", i, packet._buffer[i]); printf("\nReading them out: \n1 = %u\n2 = %u\n3 = %u\n4 = %s", packet.readUint8(), packet.readUint16(), packet.readUint8()); return 0; } Packet.h #ifndef _PACKET_H_ #define _PACKET_H_ #include <iostream> #include <vector> #include <stdio.h> #include <stdint.h> #include <string.h> using namespace std; class Packet { public: Packet() : m_opcode(0), _buffer(0), _wpos(0), _rpos(0) {} Packet(uint16_t opcode) : m_opcode(opcode), _buffer(0), _wpos(0), _rpos(0) {} uint16_t GetOpcode() { return m_opcode; } void SetOpcode(uint16_t opcode) { m_opcode = opcode; } Packet& add(uint8_t value) { if(_buffer.size() < _wpos + 1) _buffer.resize(_wpos + 1); memcpy(&_buffer[_wpos], &value, 1); _wpos += 1; return *this; } Packet& add(uint16_t value) { if(_buffer.size() < _wpos + 2) _buffer.resize(_wpos + 2); memcpy(&_buffer[_wpos], &value, 2); _wpos += 2; return *this; } uint8_t readUint8() { uint8_t result = _buffer[_rpos]; _rpos += sizeof(uint8_t); return result; } uint16_t readUint16() { uint16_t result; memcpy(&result, &_buffer[_rpos], sizeof(uint16_t)); _rpos += sizeof(uint16_t); return result; } uint16_t m_opcode; std::vector<uint8_t> _buffer; protected: size_t _wpos; // Write position size_t _rpos; // Read position }; #endif // _PACKET_H_

    hey guys so this is my program, I need to notify the user that if hhe/she enters a letter other than w d b or w that is an invalid request. what ive done so far does this, but when i input a number to the dollars_withdraw or dollars_deposit or account_balance the program will do the transaction but also add the "invalid request" before going back to main loop. how do i change it so the program wont do that for numerical inputs for the withdraw deposit and balance?: // Atm machine.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application. #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; int main () { char user_request; string user_string; double account_balance, dollars_withdraw, dollars_deposit; account_balance = 5000; while(account_balance >0) { cout << "Would you like to [W]ithdraw, [D]eposit, Check your [b]alance or [Q]uit?" << endl; cin >> user_string; user_request= user_string[0]; if(user_request == 'w' || user_request== 'W') { cout << "How much would you like to withdraw?" << endl; cin >> dollars_withdraw; if (dollars_withdraw > account_balance || dollars_withdraw <0) cout << "Invalid transaction" << endl; else account_balance = account_balance - dollars_withdraw; cout << "Your new balance is $" << account_balance << endl; } if (user_request == 'd' || user_request== 'D') { cout << "How much would you like to deposit?" << endl; cin >> dollars_deposit; if (dollars_deposit <0) cout << "Invalid transaction" << endl; else account_balance= account_balance + dollars_deposit; cout << "Your new balance is $" << account_balance << endl; } if(user_request == 'b' || user_request == 'B') { account_balance= account_balance; cout << "Your available balance is $" << account_balance << endl; } if(user_request == 'q' || user_request == 'Q') break; else cout << "Invalid request " << endl; } cout << "Goodbye" << endl; return 0; }

  • "Undefined reference to"

    - by user1332364
    I know that there are a lot of questions somewhat related to this one, but they answers are a bit hard for me to make sense of. I'm receiving the following error for a few different lines of code: C:\Users\Jeff\AppData\Local\Temp\ccAixtmT.o:football.cpp:(.text+0x6f0): undefined reference to `Player::set_values(int, std::string, float)' From these blocks of code: class Player { int playerNum; string playerPos; float playerRank; public: void set_values(int, string, float); float get_rank(){ return playerRank; }; bool operator == (const Player &p1/*, const Player &p2*/) const { if(&p1.playerNum == &playerNum && &p1.playerPos == &playerPos && &p1.playerRank == &playerRank) return true; else return false; }; }; And this being the main function referencing the subclass: int main() { ifstream infile; infile.open ("input.txt", ifstream::in); int numTeams; string command; while(!infile.fail() && !infile.eof()){ infile >> numTeams; string name; Player p; int playNum; string playPos; float playRank; Player all[11]; float ranks[11]; Team allTeams[numTeams]; for(int i=0; i<numTeams; i++){ infile >> name; for(int j=0; j<11; j++){ infile >> playNum; infile >> playPos; infile >> playRank; if(playPos == "QB") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*2.0)); else if(playPos == "RB") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*1.5)); else if(playPos == "WR") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/1.8)); else if(playPos == "TE") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*1.1)); else if(playPos == "GD") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/2.0)); else if(playPos == "TC") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/2.2)); else if(playPos == "CR") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/1.2)); all[j] = p; allTeams[i].set_values(all, name); } } infile >> command; if (command == "play"){ int t1; int t2; infile >> t1; infile >> t2; play(allTeams[t1], allTeams[t2]); } else { int t1; int p1; int t2; int p2; swap(allTeams[t1], allTeams[t1].get_player(p1), allTeams[t2], allTeams[t2].get_player(p2)); } } }

  • Why can't I sort this container?

    - by Knowing me knowing you
    Please don't mind that there is no insert fnc and that data are hardcoded. The main purpouse of it is to correctly implement iterator for this container. //file Set.h #pragma once template<class T> class Set { template<class T> friend ostream& operator<<(ostream& out, const Set<T>& obj); private: T** myData_; std::size_t mySize_; std::size_t myIndex_; public: Set(); class iterator : public std::iterator<std::random_access_iterator_tag, T*> { private: T** itData_; public: iterator(T** obj) { itData_ = obj; } T operator*() const { return **itData_; } /*Comparing values of two iterators*/ bool operator<(const iterator& obj) { return **itData_ < **obj.itData_; } /*Substracting two iterators*/ difference_type operator-(const iterator& obj) { return itData_ - obj.itData_; } /*Moving iterator backward for value*/ iterator operator-(const int value) { return itData_ - value; } /*Adding two iterators*/ difference_type operator+(const iterator& obj) { return itData_ + obj.itData_; } /*Moving iterator forward for value*/ iterator operator+(const int value) { return itData_ + value; } bool operator!=(const iterator& obj) { return (itData_ != obj.itData_); } bool operator==(const iterator& obj) { return (itData_ == obj.itData_); } T** operator++() { return ++itData_; } T** operator--() { return --itData_; } }; iterator begin() const { return myData_; } iterator end() const { return myData_ + myIndex_; } }; template<class T> ostream& operator<<(ostream& out, const Set<T>& obj) { for (int i = 0;i < 3; ++i) { out << *obj.myData_[i] << "\n"; } return out; } //file Set_impl.h #pragma once #include "stdafx.h" #include "Set.h" template<class T> Set<T>::Set() { mySize_ = 3; myIndex_ = 3; myData_ = new T*[mySize_]; myData_[0] = new T(3); myData_[1] = new T(1); myData_[2] = new T(2); } //main include "stdafx.h" #include "Set_impl.h" int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { Set<int> a; Set<int>::iterator beg_ = a.begin(); Set<int>::iterator end_ = a.end(); std::sort(beg_,end_);//WONT SORT THIS RANGE cin.get(); return 0; } Why sort can't accept this iterators even though I've provided all operators needed for sort to work? I think the best way to check what's going on is to paste this code and run it first. Thanks

  • Reversing a number in c++

  • DisplayObject not being displayed in AS3

    - by MarkSteve
    I have this class: public class IskwabolText extends Sprite { private var _tf:TextField; private var _tfmt:TextFormat; private var _size:Number; private var _text:String; public function IskwabolText(params:Object) { var defaultParams:Object = { color: 0x000000, background: false, backgroundColor: 0xFFFFFF, width: 0, height: 0, multiline: false, wordWrap: false }; // textfield _tf = new TextField(); _tf.antiAliasType = 'advanced'; _tf.embedFonts = true; _tf.type = 'dynamic'; _tf.selectable = false; // textformat _tfmt = new TextFormat(); set(defaultParams); set(params); } public function get(param:String):Object { switch (param) { case 'size': return _tfmt.size; case 'text': return _tf.text; case 'font': return _tfmt.font; case 'color': return _tfmt.color; case 'background': return _tf.background; case 'backgroundColor': return _tf.backgroundColor; case 'width': return _tf.width; case 'height': return _tf.height; case 'multiline': return _tf.multiline; case 'wordWrap': return _tf.multiline; default: return this[param]; } return null; } public function set(params:Object):Object { for (var i:String in params) { setParam(i, params[i]); } redraw(); return this; } private function setParam(param:String, value:Object):Object { switch (param) { case 'size': _tfmt.size = new String(value); break; case 'text': _tf.text = new String(value); break; case 'font': _tfmt.font = new String(value); break; case 'color': _tfmt.color = new uint(value); break; case 'background': _tf.background = new Boolean(value); break; case 'backgroundColor': _tf.backgroundColor = new uint(value); break; case 'width': _tf.width = new Number(value); break; case 'height': _tf.height = new Number(value); break; case 'multiline': _tf.multiline = new Boolean(value); break; case 'wordWrap': _tf.multiline = new Boolean(value); break; default: this[param] = value; break; } return this; } private function redraw():void { _tf.setTextFormat(_tfmt); if (contains(_tf)) removeChild(_tf); if (_tf.width == 0) _tf.width= _tf.textWidth+5; _tf.height = _tf.textHeight; addChild(_tf); } } But when I do this: public class Main extends Sprite { public function Main() { addChild(new IskwabolText({ size: 100, text: 'iskwabol', font: 'Default', // this is properly embedded color: 0x000000, x: stage.stageWidth / 2 - this.width / 2, y: 140 })); } } The child IskwabolText doesn't get displayed. What happening?
