PHP has the function memory_get_usage to report the amount of memory a PHP script has. How can you do the same thing in .NET (ASP.NET C#)?
Also, can you report on how much memory an object is taking (e.g. SiteMap or DataTable)?
I have anywhere from 5 to 10 generic list in an ASP.NET VB.NET web app. I would like to write a method to pass them all into, and return only the elements they all have in common.
I'm looking for some ideas how to accomplish this the easiest and cleanest way possible.
I want to extract some keywords out of a query string for a search application in asp.net.
I decoded the url string first, so it's plain text
I have this to start with, but I want to add a keyword group
I'd like to trim off the stuff for pure words, but not sure if that's possible
I also have a long list of possible query string value fields that I want to check against
?q=
@q=
?qs=
&qs=
I read that an SEO best practice is to use lowercase urls. Should I name my asp.net webforms project files lowercase as well? Visual Studio doesn't name default documents in new projects all lowercase. I'm not sure it matters since browsing to http://www.mysite.com/mypage.aspx will still work even if your page is named MyPage.aspx.
Can somebody enlighten me on this?

Hi,
There is a term beginning with "w" which is an ASP.NET feature meaning javascript can access WCF/ASMX services. It is not the webmethod or webservice attributes and it is just like scripthandlerfactory.
Any idea what this term is?
I'd like to disable the 'Refresh' option in the right-click menu for internet explorer. Our application uses Javascript, ASP.Net and VB, but I'm sure it'll need to be done through Javascript. Any code snippets would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I have an asp.net web form (c#, .NET framework 3.5) that returns to itself after the user clicks the submit button. I think that some values of the form are cached (some controls in a "placeholder" are out of position... meaning they have moved slightly up or down on the web form).
How can I delete the cache after user clicks submit, and ensure that the form reloads fresh, after submit?

Hi,
I have an asp.net 2.0 web app where I use C#. I have an HTML file input control that I would like to style, but I can't seem to find a way to do it. I actually wanted to change the color of the textbox. I looked online but I couldn't find any proper solutions.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.
I'm trying to log URLs that access broken images, using an HTTP module to catch those images when accessed.
How do you retrieve the URL where that image sits on? is there a way to do it the other way round too? That is, loop through images served in a URL and decide which ones are broken.
This is all in ASP.NET with C#.

In ASP.NET I frequently use Response.Redirect to redirect the end user to another page on my system. I always set the second parameter to true to immediately end the response.
For the life of me, I can't think of a reason why anybody would ever set that parameter to true. What's the point of continuing generating a page when the end user's browser is just going to be redirected to a different page immediately?
I'm using asp.net and want to filter a search result everytime the user enter letters in a textbox. For exmaple this website do exactly what I want: http://www.prisjakt.nu/ (try searching in the right top corner). I have tried just putting my textbox and the gridview with the search result in an updatepanel, it's working but it's really slow, can I make it faster and how? Is there any articles or something about this?
