  • Conflict between two Javascripts (MailChimp validation etc. scripts & jQuery hSlides.js)

    - by Brian
    I have two scripts running on the same page, one is the jQuery.hSlides.js script http://www.jesuscarrera.info/demos/hslides/ and the other is a custom script that is used for MailChimp list signup integration. The hSlides panel can be seen in effect here: http://theatricalbellydance.com. I've turned off the MailChimp script because it was conflicting with the hSlides script, causing it not to to fail completely (as seen here http://theatricalbellydance.com/home2/). Can someone tell me what could be done to the hSlides script to stop the conflict with the MailChimp script? The MailChimp Script var fnames = new Array(); var ftypes = new Array(); fnames[0] = 'EMAIL'; ftypes[0] = 'email'; fnames[3] = 'MMERGE3'; ftypes[3] = 'text'; fnames[1] = 'FNAME'; ftypes[1] = 'text'; fnames[2] = 'LNAME'; • Reordering arrays

    - by Wurlitzer
    Hi, Say, I have an array that looks like this: var playlist = [ {artist:"Herbie Hancock", title:"Thrust"}, {artist:"Lalo Schifrin", title:"Shifting Gears"}, {artist:"Faze-O", title:"Riding High"} ]; How can move an element to another position? I want to move for example, {artist:"Lalo Schifrin", title:"Shifting Gears"} to the end. I tried using splice, like this: var tmp = playlist.splice(2,1); playlist.splice(2,0,tmp); But it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Problem saving as png a SVG generated by Raphael JS in a canvas

    - by ClemDesm
    Hi fellow SOers, I'm trying to convert a SVG generated by Raphael JS (and the user, since you can drag and rotate the images). I followed this Conversion of SVG to Jpeg but still can't get it. It must be easy but I can't put my finger on what I get wrong. I got my svg in a div with #ec as id and the canvas's one is #canvas. function saveDaPicture(){ var img = document.getElementById('canvas').toDataURL("image/png"); $('body').append('<img src="'+img+'"/>'); } $('#save').click(function(){ var svg = $('#ec').html(); alert(svg); canvg('canvas', svg, {renderCallback: saveDaPicture(), ignoreMouse: true, ignoreAnimation: true}); }); The alert gives me : <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" version="1.1" width="600" height="512"> <desc>Created with Raphael</desc> <defs></defs> <image x="0" y="0" width="300" height="512" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl.jpg"></image> <rect x="168" y="275" width="52" height="70" r="0" rx="0" ry="0" fill="none" stroke="#000" stroke-dasharray="8,3" transform="rotate(21.91207728 194 310)" style="opacity: 1; display: none; " opacity="1"></rect> <circle cx="50" cy="50" r="50" fill="none" stroke="#000"></circle> <image x="358" y="10" width="39" height="138" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl2.png" style="cursor: move; "></image> <image x="397" y="10" width="99" height="153" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl3.png" style="cursor: move; "></image> <image x="184" y="286" width="10" height="10" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl4.png" style="cursor: pointer; opacity: 1; display: none; " opacity="1"></image> <image x="204" y="286" width="10" height="10" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl5.png" style="cursor: pointer; opacity: 1; display: none; " opacity="1"></image> <image x="170" y="277" width="48" height="66" preserveAspectRatio="none" href="imageurl6.png" style="cursor: move; opacity: 1; " r="50" opacity="1" transform="rotate(21.91207728 194 310)"></image> </svg> which is the xml of the svg and if I believe canvg documentation, it's good. Anyway, with this code, the variable img, which should have the converted image data, got the data of an empty png with the dimensions of the svg. The only thing I guess is that the svg generated by Raphael JS is not well formated for canvg (like, href of image should be xlink:href if I follow the W3C recommandations ) Anyone got an idea on this problem ? :D

  • Nested asynchronous calls do not seem to execute as expected

    - by Kristof Van Landschoot
    While trying out jQuery, I have a question that is probably a newbie mistake, but I cannot seem to find the solution. This is the code: $.get("index.html", function() { var i = 0; for (; i < 3; i++) { var lDiv = document.createElement('div'); lDiv.id = 'body-' + i; document.getElementById('body').appendChild(lDiv); $.get('index.html', function(data) { lDiv.innerHTML = "<p>Hello World " + i + "</p>"; }); } }); The output seems to be <div id='body-0'></div> <div id='body-1'></div> <div id='body-2'> <p>Hello World 3</p> </div> I expected the lDiv.innerHTML= code to be executed for each i, but apparently it is only executed for the last i? What am I overlooking?

  • jQuery / jqgrid / Editing form events

    - by MiBol
    I'm working with the jqGrid and I want to know if exists an event to read a double click in the Editing Form? Has example: I have a grid with ColumnA and ColumnB. I want read the event when the user perform a double click under ColumnB (In the Editing Form). Thanks! I found the solution of my problem ^^ Here is the code, to this example I use the alert "TEST!!!"... [Thanks to Oleg to wake up my mind :P] In the colModel { name: 'Total_uploads', index: 'Total_uploads', width: '100', editable: true, edittype: 'text', editoptions: { size: 10, maxlength: '20', dataInit: function (el) { $(el).click(function () { alert("TEST!!!"); }); } }, editrules: { required: true }, formoptions: { label: 'Total uploads: ', elmsuffix: '&nbsp;&nbsp; <span style="color : #0C66BE; font-family: Calibri">(*)</span>' } }

  • jQuery: Inserting li items one by one?

    - by Legend
    I wrote the following (part of a jQuery plugin) to insert a set of items from a JSON object into a <ul> element. ... query: function() { ... $.ajax({ url: fetchURL, type: 'GET', dataType: 'jsonp', timeout: 5000, error: function() { self.html("Network Error"); }, success: function(json) { //Process JSON $.each(json.results, function(i, item) { $("<li></li>") .html(mHTML) .attr('id', "div_li"+i) .attr('class', "divliclass") .prependTo("#" + "div_ul"); $(slotname + "div_li" + i).hide(); $(slotname + "div_li" + i).show("slow") } } }); } }); }, ... Doing this maybe adding the <li> items one by one theoretically but when I load the page, everything shows up instantaneously. Instead, is there an efficient way to make them appear one by one more slowly? I'll explain with a small example: If I have 3 items, this code is making all the 3 items appear instantaneously (at least to my eyes). I want something like 1 fades in, then 2 fades in, then 3 (something like a newsticker perhaps). Anyone has a suggestion?

  • How to detect Links with out anchor element in a plain text

    I am using jeditable fairly simply and it all works fine, updates the database, etc. The only problem I have is after the user types the new value data and hits enter it doesn't update the field in the browser to show the new value - instead it puts "Click to edit..." in place of it. Am I missing something like a return value from my php file? the php fucntion just takes the args and updates the database - and it works fine. Enoch the jquery\jeditable code $('.edit').editable('update.php',{ id: 'field', name: 'val', indicator: 'Saving...', tooltip: 'Click to edit...', select : true, submitdata : { db : "pers", kn : "key", rec : "?php echo $rec; ?" } }); the div <div class="edit" id="svc_ad1"><?php echo $row-svc_ad1; ?>< /div> i also have a css class for pEdit edit{ float:left; width:200px; height:15px; margin-bottom:5px; border-bottom:1px solid #aaaaaa; }

  • Small, Custom WYSIWYG editor

    - by Click Upvote
    I would make to make a small WYSIWYG editor similar to the one used by StackOverflow. Basically, it would have buttons like [quote], and when that button is clicked, [quote] [/quote] should be inserted in the textarea where the cursor is or at the end of all other text. If the [quote][/quote] could be highlighted in some way that would be even more excellent, but its not required. Is there any WYSIWYG editor already available where you can add custom buttons, with custom text being added to the textbox as a result?

  • jQuery Address changed event

    - by Dustin
    I'm trying my hand at jQuery Address http://www.asual.com/jquery/address/ On a click event I set $.address.value(mypath); This fires off the $.address.change() event. When I click a link I want the behavior to be slightly different than when this event is fired by clicking the back/forward button or with a bookmark or link. Is there a way to distinguish between the two events. I've looked at the event object passed to $.address.change() and they seem to be identical in both situations.

  • using the data-custom="" to bind to events

    - by Dean Peterson
    I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get slammed on this. I love using the data-whatever attribute to bind events to. It feels very clean to me and helps reserve my class attribute for just styling. I know this selector is among the slowest, so I don't use it when there are a lot of elements. Would love to hear compelling arguments against this. $("body").delegate("[data-action]", "click", function(){ var action = $(this).attr("data-action"); //route action to appropriate function });

  • Min/Max across an array of objects

    - by graham.reeds
    It has been done to death pretty much, here on SO and around the 'Net. However I was wondering if there was a way to leverage the standard min/max functions of: Array.max = function(array) { return Math.max.apply(Math, array); }; Array.min = function(array) { return Math.min.apply(Math, array); }; So I can search across an array of objects of say: function Vector(x, y, z) { this.x = x; this.y = y; this.z = z; } var ArrayVector = [ /* lots of data */ ]; var min_x = ArrayVector.x.min(); // or var max_y = ArrayVector["y"].max(); Currently I have to loop through the array and compare the object values manually and craft each one to the particular need of the loop. A more general purpose way would be nice (if slightly slower).

  • How to tell if XUL menupopup opens down or up?

    - by Jon
    I have an extension that can be placed on any toolbar (like the bookmarks, menu or status bars). In general, the context menu opens downward, but when placed on the status bar and Firefox is closed to the bottom of the screen, the context menu opens upward. I'd like to try reordering the context menu based on its up or down orientation, so that the same options are always closest to the mouse. For example, when opened downward it appears like this: -- (mouse) --------------- - MenuItem A - --------------- - MenuItem B - --------------- - MenuItem C - --------------- - ....... - --------------- When it opens upwards its like this: --------------- - MenuItem A - --------------- - MenuItem B - --------------- - MenuItem C - --------------- - ....... - --------------- -- (mouse) However, I'd like "MenuItem A" to appear closest to the mouse at all times, since its the most common item. I can render the items dynamically, so I really just need to find out the orientation.

    - by drdigital
    I'm showing up some markers on a map. when clicked, an info window appear. this window contains 2 button each send ajax request. the problem is that when I send any thing (Except a marker parameter below) to the button onClick event it does not work. and I get the error "adminmap.html:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL" on the first line of the HTML page not the script file at all. function handleButtonApprove(id) { //error happens here when I send any parameter except marker8(defined below) //console.log(id); $(document).ready(function () { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: VERIFY_OBSTACLES_URL, //data: { markerID:sentID , approved:0 }, success: function (data) { alert(data); } }); }); } function handleButtonReject() { $(document).ready(function () { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: VERIFY_OBSTACLES_URL, //data: { markerID:marker.id , approved:0 }, success: function (data) { alert(data); } }); }); } function attachInfo(marker8, num) { //var markerID = marker.get("id"); //console.log(markerID); var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ //Here is the error , if I sent num.toString, num or any string , it does not work. If send marker8.getPosition() for example it works. May I know the reason ? content: '<div id="info_content">Matab Info</div> <button onclick="handleButtonApprove(' + num.toString() + ')">Verify</button> </br> <button onclick="handleButtonReject()">Remove</button>' }); google.maps.event.addListener(marker8, 'click', function () { infowindow.open(marker8.get('map'), marker8); }); }

  • Select all li's but not children

    - by fire
    I have this code: $li = $("li", this) Which is selecting all of the li's in my code. This works fine however I want $li to exclude the li's that are within a submenu. <ul id="navigation"> <li><a href="#">blah 1</a></li> <ul id="subnav"> <li><a href="#">sub 1</a></li> <li><a href="#">sub 2</a></li> <li><a href="#">sub 3</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">blah 2</a></li> <li><a href="#">blah 3</a></li> <li><a href="#">blah 4</a></li> <li><a href="#">blah 5</a></li> </ul> So $li would only reference the blah's not the sub's. I thought it was something like: $li = $("li", this).parents() But this doesn't do what I want.

  • Java applet for Tower of Hanoi

    - by Naren
    I am planning to write a Java applet for Tower of Hanoi similar to link( http://www.mazeworks.com/hanoi/index.htm ) Can you suggest how should I start and proceed. And, btw, does it require multi threading? And also, major part of my doubt is to make a disc being clickable and being able to drag and drop the disc on a tower. detect a tower (if a disc is being dragged using mouse)

  • anonymous function variable scope [js, ajax]

    - by arthurprs
    $(".delete").click( function() { var thesender = this; $(thesender).text("Del..."); $.getJSON("ajax.php", {}, function(data) { if (data["result"]) $(thesender).remove(); // variable defined outside else alert('Error!'); } ); return false; } ); This can cause problems if user clicks on another ".delete" before the ajax callback is called?
