Wordpress themes are beautiful!
Is there any guideline to use Wordpress themes in a rails app? Even better, are there rails app templates which can use the Wordpress themes already?
Thanks!
Hi
I have two separate applications, a c# MVC app and a CMS (Ektron) app. I want the user to be able to move between the two application seamlessly without having to log into each application separately. What it the best (easiest) way to achieve this?
I sort of have it working using web services but wonder if there is a better way.
TIA
Stuart
In my app, I've got a menu bar with a File menu. In the submenus, each JMenuItem is wasting a lot of white space to the left of the text for a checkbox (I think), even though I'm not including any JCheckBoxMenuItems.
I'm seeing lots of other java/swing apps who's menus don't waste this space. How do I do it in my app?
Hy everybody,
I have two targets in one Project in Xcode. One is a foundation tool which i need in the resources Bin of the other Target, which is a Bundle App.
I am not able to add the Target one into the Copy Bundle Resources Build Phase of the Bundle App.
Do I need to use a Copy Files Build phase and put the File out of the build/Release Folder into it?
Thank you,
Michael
I'm trying to upload some image files in my asp.net web app.
Server OS: Windows server 2003 and IIS 6
I granted write permission in IIS to root and destination folder and granted FullControl Access to this users IUSer_Mashinname, Asp.net user, network services,Everyone, and all other users to the web app root folder and upload destination folder, but there is "Access denied problem".
Here's what I'm trying to run on Android 1.6:
package com.healthlogger.test;
public class AllTests extends TestSuite
{
public static Test suite()
{
return new TestSuiteBuilder(AllTests.class).includeAllPackagesUnderHere().build();
}
}
and:
package com.healthlogger.test;
public class RecordTest extends AndroidTestCase
{
/**
* Ensures that the constructor will not take a null data tag.
*/
@Test(expected=AssertionFailedError.class)
public void testNullDataTagInConstructor()
{
Record r = new Record(null, Calendar.getInstance(), "Data");
fail("Failed to catch null data tag.");
}
}
The main project is HealthLogger. These are run from a separate test project (HealthLoggerTest). HealthLogger and jUnit4 are in HealthLoggerTest's build path. jUnit4 is also in HealthLogger's build path. The class "Record" is located in com.healthlogger.
Commenting out the "@Test..." and "Record r..." lines allows this test to run. When they are uncommented, I get a VerifyError exception. I am severely blocked by this; why is it happening?
EDIT: some info from logcat after the crash:

Hey guys,
I'm creating an Android app where in the user can set the daily reminder, and at the designated time, the phone's alarm goes off and an activity is launched.
App uses the latest version of the SDK and the emulator. How do I get started with this?
Thanks,
Sri
I have a Ruby on Rails app that needs process many background jobs simultaneously: anywhere from 5-6 at a time to up to 50-60 at a time depending on the time of day. Right now my app is running on Heroku, which charges $.05/hour per worker, regardless of how much CPU or memory the worker is using. This is costing me a boatload each month... up to $1200/mo. Are there any hosts that will allow me to do what I'm doing for significantly cheaper?
Someone posted something similar but it didn't really solve the problem.
I want to move all my static files (images, javascript, css) to an Amazon S3 bucket when I deploy my app, as well as rewrite those paths in my app, is there a simple way to accomplish this? or am I in for a huge amount of work here?
Does anyone know of any tool that can facilitate/ease porting of an app to both Java Swing and GWT?
I've got a few "screens" that makes complete sense to have both in a desktop app and in a browser and I was wondering if there was some kind of common API that could be targetted that would facilitate creating these two different "views" (see my comment)?
How can I change the Publishing Folder of already deployed applications? E.G.
Currently the path is
\\Server1\App
but I want to change this to
\\Server2\App
For performance reasons (Server1 is becoming overloaded) and therefore I'm planning to move majority of our shared folders including the Apps folder to a different server
Hi

I keep getting Error in Fidler:
[Fiddler] Connection to localhost failed.
Exception Text: Can not connect because the target machine actively refused it: 1:50045

I am using Grails 1.2.x (Tried both 1.2.0 and 1.2.2- same behavior)
I am able to create the application fine by using the command grails create-app
But, when I try any command within the project- it "freezes" after printing the Base Directory
I have tried grails clean, grails war, grails run-app, grails created-domain-class
Grails 1.1.x works just fine for me
Any help would be welcome

I have put the attribute [FaultContract(typeof(ExceptionDetail))] for my operation contract. When I am trying to add the service th' a client app, I get this error - "Custom tool error: Failed to generate code for the service reference 'ServiceReference1'. Please check other error and warning messages for details."
But when I comment out the FaultContract Attribute, I am able to add the wcf service reference th' my client app.
Would appreciate if somebody can help me solve this mystery.
Thanks
I'm trying to turn a method I have right now into a more "generic" method that returns a string. Right now, the method uses a statement like this:
var app = (from d in testContext.DAPPs
where d.sserID == (Guid)user.ProviderUserKey
select d).ToList();
I process the results of "app", add extra text etc. The piece that changes (that I need to make more "generic") is the table name (DAPPs). Is there a way I can do that, or, a better way to go around this all together?
I'm utilising the AddressBook.framework in my iPhone app, and I'd like to replicate something along the lines of the share feature in Contacts.app. This basically attach's a specific contacts vCard to an email. As far as I know, there is nothing in the documentation that mentions generating a vCard.
Is this a case of generating one myself? Or is there something available that can help me?
My iPhone app allows for users to type in their usernames and passwords so that they can login. When they login once, their usernames and passwords are saved so that users don't have to type it in again. My problem is, when the app starts again, it immediately starts logging them in, leaving the interface completely black. How would I go about calling my login method AFTER all the UI methods are loaded?
I'm researching remote control testing for an app that'll be installed on the new iPod Touch and can't tell for certain from everything that I've read whether or not an installed app can or can't open any ports for remote test instructions (that's a mouthful : ) We created something like this for the Android using adb port forwarding and telnet, and it worked really well. Is there any chance something similar could be done on an iPhone or iPod without jailbreaking??
How can I browse the SQLite database that I am creating in my app on my Android myTouch phone?
When I log in through adb shell, sqlite3 gives me a permission denied. Is there another way to check if my database and tables are actually being created, and if rows are being inserted?
I am not able to use the emulator, since it doesn't play videos etc. very well that is the main feature of my app, so I can only test on phone.
Thanks
Chris
Hi, I want to know some common practices for creating skinnable Flex app.
Currently I am developing a video player interface, which includes main player frame, previews, timeline, and metadata area. What is the best and most convenient way to make the app skinnable?
I am working on an iPhone app which is using an external library for which I have the source. During debugging some of the objects are listed as 0x0 in the debugger but the app runs fine. Also, some of the objects addresses point to the wrong thing.
These symbols are in the external library. The addresses are fine if I am tracing through a file actually in the external library.
Does anyone have suggestions how to stop this behavior?
Since I have just started working with Facebook's api I had a few questions regarding Facebook sessions. In the index of my iFrame app I have the user establish a new sessions and set the $me and $uid variables as displayed in their example.
However, when my app navigates to a new page should I create a new session and redeclare these variables or is there some way to grab those values from the already declared session?
Thanks
I want to write a small bit of data from my app to the iphone so I can load it when the app next starts. I am going to write the data using NSCoding, but I don't know what I should be specifying as a path. I understand I would write the data to the application sandbox, just not sure how to specify that.

I haven't gotten far enough into Python to make GUIs yet, so I thought I'd ask here. Can a python app be made with the windows default style GUI, or will it have its own style? The only screenshots I've seen of a python app running with a GUI had this ugly win95 look to it.
