  • What is the best practice to cache images on Android?

    - by barmaleikin
Hi guys, In my application I use SoftReference to cache images, it is working fine with active internet connection. And now I need to cache images, so I could use it in offline mode. What is the best way to implement it? Use complex solution with SoftReference and database? or maybe SoftReference and local storage (sdcard)? I would appreciate your advices. Thanks.

  • launch an application from HTML with arguments

    - by Jugglingnutcase
Is there a way to allow an HTML file to open an application on the local computer and send that application arguments? We have an application that allows a user to set a link to an external application. We also provide a summary page in HTML (they usually interact with the application from outside the browser) with the link in HTML as well. We can get applications to launch if the program exists, but cant seem to send arguments through the HTML link. Is this even possible?

  • Java and C++ on Stack Unwinding issue

    - by sahs-i-muhterem
As far as I know, in case of an uncaught exception, C++ destroys the local variables immediately, Java releases the references and leaves the rest for the garbage collector. Is this right? What exactly is the difference between Java and C++ on this issue? in other words, which of these two languages is considered better in terms of stack unwinding issue? :)

  • Programatically Gathering NUnit results

    - by skb
Hi. I am running some NUnit tests automatically when my nightly build completes. I have a console application which detects the new build, and then copies the built MSI's to a local folder, and deploys all of my components to a test server. After that, I have a bunch of tests in NUnit dll's that I run by executing "nunit-console.exe" using Process/ProcessStartInfo. My question is, how can programatically I get the numbers for Total Success/Failed tests?

Instead, it created a file in each local repo folder named [JAR_Name].jar.lastupdate. The content of this file is some thing like : http\://[REPO_URL]/central/=1276221188566 Even using Maven 3 command line. Jars couldn't be downloaded. Any idea about how could this happen?

  • How to pass an associative array as argument to a function in Bash?

    - by niksfirefly
How do you pass an associative array as an argument to a function? Is this possible in Bash? The code below is not working as expected: function iterateArray { local ADATA="${@}" # associative array for key in "${!ADATA[@]}" do echo "key - ${key}" echo "value: ${ADATA[$key]}" done } Passing associative arrays to a function like normal arrays does not work: iterateArray "$A_DATA" or iterateArray "$A_DATA[@]"

  • My Perforce Eclipse Plugin works only partially

    - by Eye of the Storm
Hi all, I installed Perforce plugin version 3.4 on Eclipse Ganymede, configured my connection and workspace. My perforce perspective works just fine. However, when I work in the Java perspective, and I right-click any file in the project explorer, the "Team" context menu does not display the perforce options to check-out, sync etc. It only has the options "Apply patch" and "Show local history". This is super-annoying! Help, anyone?

I know about Flash's localToGlobal and globalToLocal methods to transform coordinates from the local system to the global system, but is there a way to achieve the intermediate? To transform coordinates from an arbitrary system to any other arbitrary system? I have a clickable object inside a Sprite, and the Sprite is a child of the stage. I want to retrieve the clicked point in the Sprite.
