  Hi, I study Computer Science at Technical University of Lodz (in Poland) with Computer Game and Simulation Technology specialization. I'm going to defend BSc thesis next year and I was wondering what topic I could choose but nothing really interesting is coming to my mind. Maybe You could help me and suggest some subjects related to programming graphics, games or simulations? (or maybe something else that is interesting enough :) ). • Chrome Facebook Issue Ubuntu 11.10

  Facebook, navigating with Google Chrome 15.0.874.121 and using Ubuntu 11.10, when i try to comment, chat or give a "like it" the next blank page appears and don't let me do anything: http://www.facebook.com/ajax/ufi/modify.php I've tried with, based on what i found in internet: Erasing cookies and cache desynchronize chrome before erasing it Uninstalling chrome with: sudo apt-get purge google-chrome-stable Erasing manually: /.config/google-chrome directory And nothings solves the problem, Any ideas, would appreciate your help Thanks

  I was thinking about this when I was starting to set up some code for a new project: are there any rules of thumb for when a method should be part of an object, and when it should be a stand alone function that takes an object as a parameter? EDIT: as pointed out in a comment, this can depend on language. I was working in C++ when it came to mind, though I'm this is an issue across a number of languages (and would still love to see answers that pertain to them).

  It's hard when a piece of marketing software offers an affiliate program to ever find an objective review of it, so I thought I might try on Quora. It just boggles my mind that it can only cost $97 flat, when other SEO or keyword research tools like Wordtracker cost almost the same PER MONTH, and don't seem to offer much, if anything, more... Can anyone explain this, and would anyone recommend Market Samurai WITHOUT posting a link to it in their review? :)

I was wondering if there was a standard authoring style or if everything is freestyle. • RAID 10 not being found by installer

  I had ubuntu installed with raid 0 enabled. I have added 2 more disks went into the bios deleted and created a new raid setup using raid 10 (total of 4 disks now). However during install of ubuntu server it asks if it should activate the RAID Sata disks, I tell it yes. Next step shows up blank for available disks when determining where to mount the root etc. Anyone have a clue as to why this would be?

  I have a computer sectioned to run both Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows XP but as XP refuses to log in (If I select XP the log in starts with the Windows logo being shown on the screen for a few seconds before the screen goes blank and the page showing the option of selecting Windows or Ubuntu the re-appears), I would like to clear it completely from the system and just run Ubuntu. Can this be done, and if so, how do I proceed with doing it?

  My hard disk crashed.. I can run Ubuntu using a pendrive by making a live USB of Ubuntu, which I made using Windows 7. In the similar way, I want to run Windows XP too using another pen drive (without hard disk) and I want to make it from Ubuntu (12.04). • Is there a way to take credit cards on my website without needing a merchant account/payment gateway?

  I've been looking for a service like this but can't find one -- it boggles my mind that such a thing doesn't exist. The ideal thing I'm looking for would be something like this: User fills out a form on my website I submit data to the service (cc #, payment amount) I get paid perhaps monthly by the service the amounts that were charged (less a fee) This is more or less how accepting paypal for payments works, except it takes my users to paypal's site and forces them to create a paypal account etc, which I'd like to avoid. Does such a service exist?

• Dual nVidia GPUs (3 monitors) not working in 11.10

  after searching I have not found a solution. I have 2 nvidia quadro 295 cards with 3 monitors but I can not extend twinview across multiple GPUs. I have the most recent nvidia proprietary drivers installed, and they work fine for the single GPU / dual monitors. I tried using xinerama, but without success. I don't mind switching to the nouveau drivers if that would handle my multiple monitors, although I would like to continue to use unity and compiz if i can).
