How to burn an OS like Windows 7 onto a DVD for Mac? What software should be used? Is Toast good enough and if so, how do I make the DVD bootable???
Thanks.
...after it completed download that runs similiar to how zip files unextract itself when the download finishes and actually throws the zipped copy in the trash? I usually use unrax but lately with all these .rar files, the cool zip extractor is not very helpful right now. A script with automator? anything to make this easier when extracting compressed files such as .rar.
Thank you.

Does anyone knows if it is possible to have more than 16 desktop "spaces" with Mac OS X Snow Leopard?
I know that it does not seem possible at all from the System Preferences settings, but I was wondering if there exists some software tools that would enable one to use more Spaces, say 20-25.
Thanks for the help.

I have a USB stick with a Fedora 11 live environment on it.
It's booting fine on 3 PCs where I've tried it.
But I can't get it to boot on a Mac (Intel). When pressing the alt key (or command key, I don't remember which one) during startup I can only choose the "Macintosh HD" and the USB stick doesn't appear.
I want to see the fullpath of the current folder I am viewing on my mac.

Is it possible to set per-application volume levels under Mac OS X?
I would like to be able to turn the volume down on Entourage for new emails, but leave everything else at a pleasant level, adjusting media playback volumes via iTunes or the DVD app.
I'm on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). What's the best way to find a folder for which I'm not sure of the full name?
For example, I know the folder name I want is like:
"farm-animal-type"
But the full name may be something like:
"farm-animal-type-horse"
On Windows, I would just use the find tool through Windows Explorer.
Is there a utility built into the Mac software to allow for burning ISO downloaded from the internet.
Or.. Is there a better utility on the Net for performing this function?
I've been getting these weird icons attached to Windows related files on my Mac.
The file is usually associated with some Windows application.
Where can I find these icons? Can I replace them? Are they originated by Windows (running as VM)?
Does anybody have the step by step configuration process that would allow VirtualBox running a Linux/Ubuntu guest on a Mac OS X host use the bridge type network using Ethernet and wireless? I have read that it does work and it doesn't work, trying to find a definite answer. I want the guest environment to look like a separate box.
Thanks
How can I make a bootable backup of my Mac's internal hard drive to be restored using Disk Utility, without formatting my external destination drive as HFS+ (it's FAT32, of course)? Time Machine and SuperDuper both require that the volume where the backup is saved be HFS+ formatted.
This looks helpful:
http://developer.apple.com/macosx/backuponmacosx.html
But it doesn't explain how to use FAT32 disk.
On the Mac, a lot of programs hide the .xxx extension by default. Is there a way to turn this behaviour off so that extensions are never hidden by default?
I know I don't actually need it, I just prefer it to be there.
Hi,
I would like to upgrade my mac from 10.5.8 to Snow leopard 10.6. I searched around the google but didn't get any clear info from Apple sites. Is it possible? Are there any steps to follow this from Apple sites? Is there any possibility to do it without wiping the existing software and files?
Thank you. I appreciate your helps.
In the past I have always run a NAT router between my Windows PC's and the internet. I'm wondering if I still need this or whether the OSX firewall is good enough to let me put a Mac directly on the internet.
The Mac OS X Server homepage tells of a feature "Mobile Access Server":
http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/features/mobile-access.html
But the text is very marketingy and doesn't actually say what it does? Is it a type of VPN or a remote desktop thingy or what?

Please not i'm not about to change those markings, neither looking for some robust solution, just quick hack.
