  • Jquery click event assignment not working in Firefox

    - by Mantorok
    Hi all I'm assigning a click event to a bunch of anchors by class name, and it works in all browsers except Firefox, here is the JS: var click_addthis = function(e, href) { if (!e) { var e = window.event; } e.cancelBubble = true; if (e.stopPropagation) e.stopPropagation(); window.open(href, "Share It", null); return false; } $(document).ready(function() { $(".addthis_button_facebook").click(function() { click_addthis(event, this.href) }); $(".addthis_button_twitter").click(function() { click_addthis(event, this.href) }); }); Am I missing something? Thanks

  • How to launch the market intent in 'Give Feedback' mode on android.

    - by Paul Maidment
    Hi There, I have just written a game for the Android market and would like to remind my customers to leave feeback on the market for the application (especially the demo version.) Is there any way to launch the market intent in a mode that will take the user to the feedback / comments section of the page? I already use this approach for linking my demo to the paid app... Intent goToMarket = null; goToMarket = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW,Uri.parse("market://details?id=com.paulmaidment.games.flagsoftheworld")); startActivity(goToMarket); Is there a best practice that any Android devs out there might know of? Additionally, is there any way to track referalls from my demo app so that I can try to calculate some kind of a conversion rate? (i.e. how effective the demo app is at generating sales.) Thanks, Paul

  • How do I set an array in one class with another array in another class

    - by Stef
    I've populated and array with data like this in one class... PowerClass.h NSMutableArray pickerArray; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray pickerArray; - PowerClass.m @synthesize pickerArray; @implementation NSMutableArray *array = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"stef", @"steve", @"baddamans", @"jonny", nil]; pickerArray = [NSMutableArray arrayWithArray:array]; And I'm trying to set the Array in another class WeekClass.h PowerClass *powerClass; NSMutableArray *pickerData; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray pickerData; @property (nonatomic, retain) PowerClass *powerClass; WeekClass.m @implementation pickerData = [NSMutableArray arrayWithArray:powerClass.pickerArray]; I have no errors or warnings. It just crashes. The NSLog says that the powerClass.pickerArray is NULL. Please help point me in the right direction.

  • adding tabs to tabcontrol from inside usercontrol

    - by Jakob
    How can I add tabs to a tabcontrol that exists in one usercontrol from another usercontrol that is contained within a tab itself?? Can I do it without passing in the tabcontrol as a parameter in the constructor, perhaps via some static global method? I've tried public static ObservableTabCollection FindCollectionFromUC(this DependencyObject depObject) { bool loop = true; var parent = (VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(depObject) as FrameworkElement); while (loop) { if (parent.GetType() is TabControl) { loop = false; return ((ObservableTabCollection)((TabControl)parent).ItemsSource); } } return null; } but this is just an infinite loop

  • Android MediaPlayer crashing app

    - by user1555863
    I have an android app with a button that plays a sound. the code for playing the sound: if (mp != null) { mp.release(); } mp = MediaPlayer.create(this, R.raw.match); mp.start(); mp is a field in the activity: public class Game extends Activity implements OnClickListener { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ //variables: MediaPlayer mp; //... The app runs ok, but after clicking the button about 200 times on the emulator, app crashed and gave me this error https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5488790/error.txt (couldn't figure how to post it here so it will appear decently) i am assuming this is because the MediaPlayer object is consuming up too much memory, but isn't mp.release() supposed to take care of this? What am i doing wrong here?

  • Help with linq to sql compiled query

    - by stackoverflowuser
    Hi I am trying to use compiled query for one of my linq to sql queries. This query contains 5 to 6 joins. I was able to create the compiled query but the issue I am facing is my query needs to check if the key is within a collection of keys passed as input. But compiled queries do not allow passing of collection (since collection can have varying number of items hence not allowed). For instance input to the function is a collection of keys. Say: List<Guid> InputKeys List<SomeClass> output = null; var compiledQuery = CompiledQueries.Compile<DataContext, IQueryable<SomeClass>>( (context) => from a in context.GetTable<A>() where InputKeys.Contains(a.Key) select a); using(var dataContext = new DataContext()) { output = compiledQuery(dataContext).ToList(); } return output; Is there any work around or better way to do the above?

  • accessing associations within GORM Events

    - by Don
    Hi, My Grails app has a User class and a Role class. The User class has an authorities property which holds the roles assigned to that user, e.g. class User { static hasMany = [authorities: Role] // This method is called automatically after a user is inserted def afterInsert() { this.authorities.size() } } If I create a user and assign them a role, a NullPointerException is thrown from the GORM event method afterInsert(), because authorities is null. If I comment out afterInsert() the user is saved correctly along with the assigned role. Is there some reason why I can't access associations from GORM event methods. Is is possible that this event is fired after the User row is inserted, but before the row is added to the User-Role join table? Thanks, Don

  • Why eGet() in EMF returns Object rather than EObject?

    - by Gabriel Šcerbák
    I am working on some code using the EMF framework in Java, but it is really hard to use, e.g. I cannot implement OCL-like query API on top of EMF which would be type-safe. One of the reasons is that eGet() for a EStructuralFeature return just an Object, not EObject. So anything I would write must use much of null checking, type checking and type casting which is unsafe, not performant and cannot be generalized in a reusable way. Why doesn't EMF generate dummy implementations with EObject wrappers for arbitrary Object value? Implementing the EObject and hence the EClass interfaces even with simple throw UnsupportedOperationException is really a pain (the APIs are too big). The same holds for the eContainer() method which makes navigatinng the model upwards painful.

  • Control.EndInvoke resets call stack for exception

    - by Brian Rasmussen
    I don't do a lot of Windows GUI programming, so this may all be common knowledge to people more familiar with WinForms than I am. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any resources to explain the issue, I encountered today during debugging. If we call EndInvoke on an async delegate. We will get any exception thrown during execution of the method re-thrown. The call stack will reflect the original source of the exception. However, if we do something similar on a Windows.Forms.Control, the implementation of Control.EndInvoke resets the call stack. This can be observed by a simple test or by looking at the code in Reflector. The relevant code excerpt from EndInvoke is here: if (entry.exception != null) { throw entry.exception; } I understand that Begin/EndInvoke on Control and async delegates are different, but I would have expected similar behavior on Control.EndInvoke. Is there any reason Control doesn't do whatever it is async delegates do to preserve the original call stack?

  • Android programmatically add buttons to layout from string array

    - by Luke Batley
    Does anyone know how to programatically add buttons to the layout from an array? I have an array of titles and icons that i have used for a list view and now i'm wanting to reuse the same arrays to create a layout as displayed here so the layout adds a button for each item in the array and arranges them in 3's according to device width. is this possible to do? I have tried using a custom Array Adapter to generate the Grid but getting a null pointer error at the point menuGrid = (GridView) findViewById(R.id.gridView1); MenuItemsSetup menuData[] = new MenuItemsSetup[] { new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon1, "menuItem1"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon2, "menuItem2"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon3, "menuItem3"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon4, "menuItem4"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon5, "menuItem5"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon6, "menuItem6"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon7, "menuItem7"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon8, "menuItem8") }; String[] menuBgColours = {"#FFFFFF","#FFFFFF", ,"#888888", "#FFFFBB", "#BBFFFF","#000000", "#666666"}; CustomArrayAdapter adapter = new CustomArrayAdapter(this, R.layout.drawer_list_item, menuData, menuBgColours); menuList.setAdapter(adapter); menuGrid.setAdapter(adapter);

  • How do I enumerate a list of interfaces that are directly defined on an inheriting class/interface?

    - by Jordan
    Given the following C# class: public class Foo : IEnumerable<int> { // implementation of Foo and all its inherited interfaces } I want a method like the following that doesn't fail on the assertions: public void SomeMethod() { // This doesn't work Type[] interfaces = typeof(Foo).GetInterfaces(); Debug.Assert(interfaces != null); Debug.Assert(interfaces.Length == 1); Debug.Assert(interfaces[0] == typeof(IEnumerable<int>)); } Can someone help by fixing this method so the assertions don't fail? Calling typeof(Foo).GetInterfaces() doesn't work because it returns the entire interface hierarchy (i.e. interfaces variable contains IEnumerable<int> and IEnumerable), not just the top level.

  • problem using base64 encoder and InputStreamReader

    - by karoberts
    I have some CLOB columns in a database that I need to put Base64 encoded binary files in. These files can be large, so I need to stream them, I can't read the whole thing in at once. I'm using org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64InputStream to do the encoding, and I'm running into a problem. My code is essentially this FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(file); Base64InputStream b64is = new Base64InputStream(fis, true, -1, null); InputStreamReader reader = new InputStreamReader(b64is); preparedStatement.setCharacterStream(1, reader); When I run the above code, I get one of these during the execution of the update java.io.IOException: Underlying input stream returned zero bytes, it is thrown deep in the InputStreamReader code. Why would this not work? It seems to me like the reader would attempt to read from the base 64 stream, which would read from the file stream, and everything should be happy.

  • Alert show when extension of FileUpLoads are not allowed

    - by Vy Clarks
    I have a asp FileUpload control in my aspx page. And the code behind to check file's extension and then insert them into database: private string Write(HttpPostedFile file, string table) { string fileNameMain = Path.GetFileName(file.FileName); // check for the valid file extension string fileExtension = Path.GetExtension(fileNameMain).ToLower(); if (fileExtension.Equals(".pdf") || fileExtension.Equals(".doc")) { ...insert fileupload into database } else { LabelError.Text = "Extension of files are not allowed."; return null; } } With the code above, it checks the extension and then show the message "Extension of files are not allowed." in a LabelError if the fileupload is not allowed. Now, I'm required to do the "check-extension" in the other way: at the moment the client click and choose FileUpload, an alert show "Extension of files are not allowed.". I need a way to make an alert show at the momment the FileUpload choosed in browser. Help!!!!

  • Cannot convert const char * to char *

    - by robUK
    Hello, Visual Studio c++ 2005 I am getting an error on the last line of this code. int Utils::GetLengthDiff ( const char * input, int & num_subst ) { int num_wide = 0, diff = 0 ; const char * start_ptr = input ; num_subst = 0 ; while ( ( start_ptr = strstr ( start_ptr, enc_start ) ) != NULL ) { char * end_ptr = strstr ( start_ptr, enc_end ); // Error So I changed the line to this and it worked ok const char * end_ptr = strstr ( start_ptr, enc_end ); So why would I need to declare end_ptr as a const as well?   • How to pass get-parameter to backing bean in jsf?

    - by Roman
    I have get parameter with name controller. When I try to pass it (with propertyChangeListener) to my backing bean I get null instead of the real value of the parameter: <h:commandButton value="#{msg['mail.send']}" styleClass="mailbutton" action="#{mailSender.sendMail}"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{mailSender.controllerName}" value="{#param.controller}"/> </h:commandButton> So, I have two questions: What is the proper way to set bean property with a get-parameter value? Actually, I've already get the value from ExternalContext#getRequestParam but maybe there are some other solutions. More interesting question: why propertyActionListener didn't work here? What does it do actually? (again I have some thoughts about it but it would be nice to read more comprehensive explanations).

  • ASP.NET MVC F# controller action ignoring parameter

    - by Matt H
    Hi. I have a C# ASP.NET MVC project but my controllers are written in F#. For some reason, the following code doesn't work properly. namespace MvcApplication8.Controllers open System.Web.Mvc [<HandleError>] type ImageController() = inherit Controller() member x.Index (i : int) : ActionResult = x.Response.Write i x.View() :> ActionResult The parameter of the action is seemingly ignored. http://localhost:56631/Image/Index/1 = The parameters dictionary contains a null entry for parameter 'i' of non-nullable type 'System.Int32' for method 'System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult Index(Int32)' in 'MvcApplication8.Controllers.ImageController'. An optional parameter must be a reference type, a nullable type, or be declared as an optional parameter. Parameter name: parameters The controller otherwise works fine. I know that plenty of people have written F# mvc code, so, any ideas where I'm going wrong?

  • How to run infinitely script in background on Linux?

    - by Andrew Bashtannik
    I have a PHP script with infinite loop. I need this script running forever. So, I run php /path/to/script.php > /dev/null & And it works in background in my current user's security context. But when I close terminal window (log off), of course, CentOS Linux kills my program. I see two guesses: run from a different user in background or make a daemon. I need help in each situation. Thanks a lot!

  • Boiler plate code replacement - is there anything bad about this code?

    - by Benjol
    I've recently created these two (unrelated) methods to replace lots of boiler-plate code in my winforms application. As far as I can tell, they work ok, but I need some reassurance/advice on whether there are some problems I might be missing. (from memory) static class SafeInvoker { //Utility to avoid boiler-plate InvokeRequired code //Usage: SafeInvoker.Invoke(myCtrl, () => myCtrl.Enabled = false); public static void Invoke(Control ctrl, Action cmd) { if (ctrl.InvokeRequired) ctrl.BeginInvoke(new MethodInvoker(cmd)); else cmd(); } //Replaces OnMyEventRaised boiler-plate code //Usage: SafeInvoker.RaiseEvent(this, MyEventRaised) public static void RaiseEvent(object sender, EventHandler evnt) { var handler = evnt; if (handler != null) handler(sender, EventArgs.Empty); } } EDIT: See related question here UPDATE Following on from deadlock problems (related in this question), I have switched from Invoke to BeginInvoke (see an explanation here). Another Update Regarding the second snippet, I am increasingly inclined to use the 'empty delegate' pattern, which fixes this problem 'at source' by declaring the event directly with an empty handler, like so: event EventHandler MyEventRaised = delegate {};

  • Shorten Zend Framework Route Definitions

    - by Sebastian Hoitz
    Hi! How can I shorten the definition of my custom routes in Zend Framework? I currently have this as definition: $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( ":module/:id", array( "controller" => "index", "action" => "index" ), array("id" => "\d+") ); self::$frontController->getRouter()->addRoute('shortcutOne', $route); $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( ":module/:controller/:id", array("action" => "index"), array("id" => "\d+") ); self::$frontController->getRouter()->addRoute('shortcutTwo', $route); $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( ":module/:controller/:action/:id", null, array("id" => "\d+") ); self::$frontController->getRouter()->addRoute('shortcutThree', $route); Is there a way to better combine these rules? And what are your best practices in where to place these? I currently have them in my bootstrap class right after the Front Controller initialization.

  • Hibernate: How do I link a subclass to its superclass?

    - by Markus
    Hey there! I'm having a little problem setting up my webshop project. Thing is, I have a User() superclass and two subclasses, PrivateUser and BusinessUser. Now, I'm not quite sure how to get my head around storing this relationship via hibernate. For the purpose of this question, the User() class contains only one field: String address; the PrivateUser contains: String firstName; and the BusinessUser contains: String CompanyName; Each field has its getter and setter. As is right now, I would only store and be able to get firstName and companyName. When I fetch a user from my DB using Hibernate I would get a PrivateUser/BusinessUser with a null address. Bottom line is, could someone point me towards a useful tutorial or better yet show a similar example code? Thanks!
