I have a PHP script that checks the HTTP Referer.
if ($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'] == 'http://www.example.com/') {...}
However, this seems inherintly unsafe ... because what happens if the user goes to 'http://example.com/' or 'http://www.ExaMple.com' (both of which don't match the equality test).
Question: what's a better equality test to ensure that the HTTP Referer is coming from 'example.com' ?
Hi,
Suppose I have this array:
$array = array('10', '20', '30.30', '40', '50');
Questions
What is the fastest/easiest way to remove the first item from the above array?
What is the fastest/easiest way to remove the last item from the above array?
So the resulting array contains only these values:
'20'
'30.30'
'40'
Hi there!
I was looking for some opinions on the best remote method invocation practices when developing iPhone applications that communicate with Java (java EE) servers.
Many iphone applications these days typically talk to a server back end. I typically prefer to write my servers in java using some Spring libraries. So far I have not found or stuck to a definitive practice for iphone-java server communication.
What are some technical solutions and libraries that you have used to implement this kind of client-server communication?
One thing I always keep in mind is that I want the communication protocols to be simple so that multiple platforms can be added for example, in future adding Android and possibly Blackberry clients, that can use the same protocol to talk to the server.
Hi,
I'm trying to make a jquery tooltip that appears when a user mouses over a link. In my case the link is using display:block style so that it covers a large area. It works perfectly in Chrome and Firefox but in Internet Explorer it doesn't work at all. The tooltip doesn't show, the browsers own tooltip shows etc... IE!!!!

Any ideas? Got to love internet explorer...
Hello,
Let's say I have this:
<div id="wrapper">
<pre class="highlight">
$(function(){
// hide all links except for the first
$('ul.child:not(:first)').hide();
$("a.slide:first").css("background-color","#FF9900");
/*
The comment goes here.
*/
</pre>
</div>
With Jquery, I want to find what is in between:
/*
The comment goes here.
*/
Including those comment signs. So it should return:
/*
The comment goes here.
*/
How to do that, how to find text between two points?
Thanks
In window, i can get the date created of the video from properties(right click). I have a few idea on this but i dont know how to do it. 1. Get the video information directly from video(like in windows),
2. By extracting the video name to get the date created(The video's name is in date format, which is the time it created). And i also using taglib-sharp to get the video duration and resolution, but i cant find any sample code on how to get the video creation date.
Note: video name in date format - example, 20121119_125550.avi
Edit
Found this code and so far its working
string fileName = Server.MapPath("//video//20121119_125550.avi");
FileInfo fileInfo = new FileInfo(fileName);
DateTime creationTime = fileInfo.CreationTime;
Output: 2012/11/19 12:55:50
For the file's name, i will add another string in name. For example User1-20121119_125550.avi.avi, so it will get complicated after that.
I have a RESTful service that exposes enums.
Should I expose them as localised strings, or plain integers?
My leaning is toward integers for easy conversion at the service end, but in that case the client needs to grab a list of localised strings from somewhere in order to know what the enums mean. Am I just creating extra steps for nothing?
There seems to be little information I can find about which is commonly done in RESTful APIs.
EDIT:
OK. Let's say I'm writing a website that stores information about people's pets. I could have an AnimalType enum
0 Dog
1 Cat
2 Rabbit
etc.
When people grab a particular pet resource, say /pets/1, I can either provide a meaningful localised string for the animal type, or just provide the ID and force them to do another look up via a /pets/types resource.
Or should I provide both?
I know this is not a programming question, but I couldn't think of where else to ask. Does google or anybody else have a feature to let you see the list of sites pointing to a given link?
Hello All,
I have a big problem with Google Chrome and its memory. My app is displaying to user several image charts and reloads them every 10s.
In the interval i have code like that
var image = new Image();
var src = 'myurl/image'+new Date().getTime();
image.onload = function() {
document.getElementById('myimage').src = src;
image.onload = image.onabort = image.onerror = null;
}
image.src = src;
So i have no memory leaks in Firefox and IE.
Here the response headers for images
Server Apache-Coyote/1.1
Vary *
Cache-Control no-store (// I try no-cache, must-revalidate and so on here)
Content-Type image/png
Content-Length 11131
Date Mon, 31 May 2010 14:00:28 GMT
Vary * taken from here
In about:cache page there is no my cached images.
If i enable purge-memory-button for chrome (--purge-memory-button parameter) it`s not help.
Images is in PNG24.
So i think that the problem is not in cache.
May be Google Chrome is not releasing memory for old images.
Please help. Any suggestions.
Thanks.
Hi,
I have registered mydomain.com now i want to redirect to my IP hosting account.
The DNS editor shows two fields: Name and Address.
In Address i wrote the IP i want the domain redirects.
And in Name I wrote mydomain.com.
After submitting the form, the page shows this line:
Name Type Record
mydomain.mydomain.com. A 173.203.58.251
I expected it shows this:
Name Type Record
mydomain.com. A 173.203.58.251
Is that OK? or am i doing some wrong?
Regards
Javi
I was writing a "pluginable" function when I noticed the following behavior (tested in FF 3.5.9 with Firebug 1.5.3).
$.fn.computerMove = function () {
var board = $(this);
var emptySquares = board.find('div.clickable');
var randPosition = Math.floor(Math.random() * emptySquares.length);
emptySquares.each(function (index) {
if (index === randPosition) {
// logs a jQuery object
console.log($(this));
}
});
target = emptySquares[randPosition];
// logs a non-jQuery object
console.log(target);
// throws error: attr() not a function for target
board.placeMark({'position' : target.attr('id')});
}
I noticed the problem when the script threw an error at target.attr('id') (attr not a function). When I checked the log, I noticed that the output (in Firebug) for target was:
<div style="width: 97px; height: 97px;" class="square clickable" id="8"></div>
If I output $(target), or $(this) from the each() function, I get a nice jQuery object:
[ div#8.square ]
Now here comes my question: why does this happen, considering that find() seems to return an array of jQuery objects? Why do I have to do $() to target all over again?
[div#0.square, div#1.square, div#2.square, div#3.square, div#4.square, div#5.square, div#6.square, div#7.square, div#8.square]
Just a curiosity :).
is there any trick to run a Webservice automatically to check some date specific and performs some operations on particular date. like sending birthday email's and so on ?
hi, i have a general design question.
we have a fairly big data model that represents an clinical object, the object itself has 200+ child attributes in the hierarchy.
and we have a SetObject operation, and a GetObject operation. my question is, best practice wise, would it make sense to use that single data model in both operations or different data model for each? Because the Get operation will return much more details than what's needed for Set.
an example of what i mean: the data model has say ProviderId, and ProviderName attributes, in the Get operation, both the ProviderId, and ProviderName would need to be returned. However, in the Set operation, only the ProviderId is needed, and ProviderName is ignored by the service since system has that information already. In this case, if the Get and Set operations use the same data model, the ProviderName is exposed even for Set operation, does that confuse the consuming developer?
I need to develop an application where a Java client calls a Java application located on the server with certain parameters, the Java application on the server computes data and sends the data back to the client. Everything needs to go through port 80 on which I have a IIS webserver listening. I cannot open any other port on the server.
Is there any way I can do this? The server can write files in a directory that the client can read but I am not sure how to handle the synchronization and I don't know how to call a script on the server from the client through port 80.
Every suggestion would be highly appreciated
Thanks a lot in advance, this problem is making me crazy
Here's the scenario:
I have a private site that, once logged on, will display different information depending on the attributes of your account: the pages are branded differently based upon what company you are associated with.
The problem is the companies linking to this site want everything to be displayed as their own brand, and do not want to see my brand anywhere, especially in the URL (i.e. from www.theirbrand.com they do not want to have links to www.mybrand.com).
Is there an elegant solution to this? Is the best option to add a page on www.theirbrand.com that contains an iframe with a source of www.mybrand.com (I'm not sure if that would interfere with back/forward navigation, etc), or is there a better way?
hey all ,
background -
I'm using an activx that allow me to access some information on the client side,
By using the activex events and callback i'm updating server side from client.
i wrote a user control that register all activex's events so when one of the events occuer there is a callback to the server that handle this event.
I need to write some other user controls based on this control so on every callback this user controls will be render on the client side.
My question is -
what is the best way to make a shared infrastructure that handle this events and render the right content base on user controls?
is there any other ways i can use ?
thanks!
When a user clicks a button I need to create a .bmp file on the server. After the .bmp file is created I will load it into the html page. Would Ajax be the best way to accomplish this?
