  • Programatically Add a AnnotationSessionFactoryBean

    - by user146714
    Hi, I have a class that implements BeanDefinitionRegistryPostProcessor. I am trying to add an AnnotationSessionFactoryBean to my Spring Context in either postProcessBeanFactory or postProcessBeanDefinitionRegistry. I need to do this programatically so that I can configure the object at runtime. I am trying to do: @Override public void postProcessBeanDefinitionRegistry(BeanDefinitionRegistry bdr) throws BeansException { RootBeanDefinition bd = new RootBeanDefinition( AnnotationSessionFactoryBean.class); // fails here.. can not cast AnnotationSessionFactoryBean asfb = (AnnotationSessionFactoryBean)bd; bdr.registerBeanDefinition("sessionFactory", asfb); thanks for your help --updated with solution: had to do a: GenericBeanDefinition bd = new GenericBeanDefinition(); bd.setBeanClass(AnnotationSessionFactoryBean.class); bd.getPropertyValues().add("dataSource", dataSource); bdr.registerBeanDefinition("sessionFactory", bd);

  • casting a generic array in java

    - by liloboy
    The implementation is for a linked list in java : public AnyType[] toArr() { AnyType[] arr = (AnyType[]) new Object[size]; int i = 0; Node<AnyType> current = head.next; while (cur != head){ arr[i] = current.data;// fill the array i++; current = current.next; } return arr; } public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(ll.toArr().toString()); } The error that I get: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastException: [Ljava.lang.Object; cannot be cast to [Ljava.lang.Integer; Thanks.

  • Create Generic Class Instance from Static Method in a Derived Class

    - by user343547
    I have a class in C# with a template and static method similar to class BClass<T> { public static BClass<T> Create() { return new BClass<T>(); } } From this I derive a class and specify a template parameter to the base class class DClass : BClass<int> { } A problem occurs when I try to use the static method to create an instance of D class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { DClass d = DClass.Create(); } } Gives a compiler error "Cannot implicitly convert type 'Test.BClass<int ' to 'Test.DClass'." Adding the below cast leads to a runtime casting exception. DClass d = (DClass)DClass.Create(); Is there any succint way to allow the static method to create instances of the derived class? Ideally I would like the equivalent of a c++ typedef and I don't want the below syntax (which does work). BClass<int> d = DClass.Create();

  • Checking if an element is visible in Chrome using Selenium Remote WebDriver

    - by Stuart
    Is there a cross browser solution to check if an element is visible using WebDriver? The solution for IE and firefox is to cast the object to a RenderedRemoteWebElement and then call the property Displayed. I'm using the following methods to return if a element is visible: /// <summary> /// Check if the control is visible. /// </summary> public bool IsVisible() { IWebElement control = mSelenium.FindElement(mFindBy); return ((RenderedRemoteWebElement)control).Displayed; } The problem is when I run this using Chrome, I get an exception when casting to type RenderedRemoteWebElement, this is not really the problem as I can catch this, but I need to a solution to check if an element is visible in chrome. Thanks

    - by Younes
    I have this code: public static IEnumerable<dcCustomer> searchCustomer(string Companyname) { TestdbDataContext db = new TestdbDataContext(); IEnumerable<dcCustomer> myCustomerList = (from Customer res in db.Customers where res.CompanyName == Companyname select res); return myCustomerList; } And whatever i try i keep getting the convert error. • Type or namespace name could not be found

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    I use this: public IQueryable<MaterialsView> FindAllMaterials() { var materials = from m in db.Materials join Mt in db.MeasurementTypes on m.MeasurementTypeId equals Mt.Id select new MaterialsView { MatId = m.Mat_Name, MesName = Mt.Name, MesType = m.Mat_Type }; return materials; } It gives me the following errors: The type or namespace name MaterialsView could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Cannot implicitly convert type System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<MaterialsView> to System.Linq.IQueryable<MaterialsView>. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) The type arguments for method System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList<TSource>(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<TSource>) cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly. I have googled it and found this SO question but it doesn't help. What's wrong?

  • Interface name as a Type

    - by user1889148
    I am trying to understand interfaces in Java and have this task to do which I am a stack with. It must be something easy, but I don't seem to see the solution. Interface contains a few methods, one of them should return true if all elements of this set are also in the set. I.e. public interface ISet{ //some methods boolean isSubsetOf(ISet x); } Then the class: public class myClass implements ISet{ ArrayList<Integer> mySet; public myClass{ mySet = new ArrayList<Integer>(); } //some methods public boolean isSubsetOf(ISet x){ //method body } } What do I need to write in method body? How do I check that the instance of myClass is a subset of ISet collection? I was trying to cast, but it gives an error: ArrayList<Integer> param = (ArrayList<Integer>)x; return param.containsAll(mySet);

  • Casting to specific class in HQL

    - by bungrudi
    My situation is like this.. (note: for those who work with JBPM might already familiar with following data structures and HB mapping) Class LongInstance extends from VariableInstance, with the mapping for field "value" overridden in LongInstance. The mapping for VariableInstance is here and for LongInstance here. VariableInstance is polymorphically mapped to a collection in TokenVariableMap, the mapping is here. The question: how can I query the polymorphic collection using specific/overridden property of the member class? I'm looking for something like this "... from TokenVariableMaps tvm left join fetch tvm.variableInstances tvi where cast(tvi as LongInstance).value in(:vars)"

  • Enumerable.Range in and Expression and Entity Framework

    - by eka808
    I'm currently developping an expression method (used in linq to entity queries) who has to give me a daycount for a given period (start date and end date) decrementing this daycount if specials days are in the period. My idea was the following : Generate an enumerable with all the dates (and with Enumerable.Range) Make a .Where on this enumerable to remove the specials dates Like a MyEnumerable.Where(a = a != "20120101") After that, return a MyEnumerable.Count() I come with this code : return (p) => Enumerable .Range(1, 4) .Where(a => a != 20120101) .AsQueryable() .Count() I tried to cast as a list, as a queryable, both (like the example) and no way ! it doesn't work ! I always get this error : LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable`1[System.Int32] Range(Int32, Int32)' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression. Have you got an idea about that ? Using an enumerable is of course not mandatory, any working solutions is good ^^ Thank's by advance !

  • Inheritance and Implicit Type Casting

    - by Josué Molina
    Suppose I have the following three classes: class Animal {}; class Human : public Animal {}; class Dog : public Animal { public: void setOwner(Animal* owner) { this->owner = owner; } private: Animal* owner; }; Why is the following allowed, and what exactly is happening? Dog d; Human h; d.setOwner(&h); // ? At first, I tried to cast it like this d.setOwner(&(Animal)h), but the compiler gave me a warning, and I hit a run-time error. Edit: the warning the compiler gave me was "taking address of temporary". Why is this so?

  • Using a Type object to create a generic

    - by Richard Neil Ilagan
    Hello all! I'm trying to create an instance of a generic class using a Type object. Basically, I'll have a collection of objects of varying types at runtime, and since there's no way for sure to know what types they exactly will be, I'm thinking that I'll have to use Reflection. I was working on something like: Type elType = Type.GetType(obj); Type genType = typeof(GenericType<>).MakeGenericType(elType); object obj = Activator.CreateInstance(genType); Which is well and good. ^_^ The problem is, I'd like to access a method of my GenericType< instance, which I can't because it's typed as an object class. I can't find a way to cast it obj into the specific GenericType<, because that was the problem in the first place (i.e., I just can't put in something like:) ((GenericType<elType>)obj).MyMethod(); How should one go about tackling this problem? Many thanks! ^_^

  • Reading in 4 bytes at a time

    - by alphomega
    I have a big file full of integers that I'm loading in. I've just started using C++, and I'm trying out the filestream stuff. From everything I've read, it appears I can only read in bytes, So I've had to set up a char array, and then cast it as a int pointer. Is there a way I can read in 4 bytes at a time, and eliminate the need for the char array? const int HRSIZE = 129951336; //The size of the table char bhr[HRSIZE]; //The table int *dwhr; int main() { ifstream fstr; /* load the handranks.dat file */ std::cout << "Loading table.dat...\n"; fstr.open("table.dat"); fstr.read(bhr, HRSIZE); fstr.close(); dwhr = (int *) bhr; }

  • Class interaction

    - by user1264391
    Ok so I'm doing a simulation about a "Mall" I have many classes in the same "level" which corresponds to each person's personality. For example I have the class: clown, thief, assassin, materialist, etc. in the same level And a father class called Clients. In the Client class I have some methods for eating,walking, etc. and each specific class has a specific method, the thief steals, assassin kills, etc. I was wondering how could I put every "client" in a list and still cast every specific method?

  • All possible combinations for two column data

    - by Alec Dobbie
    I have a two column view Product Id Tag ---------------------- 1 Leather 1 Watch 2 Red 2 Necklace 2 Pearl I'm trying to get all possible combinations of tags for a product as such: 1 Leather 1 Leather,Watch 2 Pearl 2 Pearl,Necklace 2 Pearl Necklace,Red 2 Necklace 2 Necklace, Red 2 Red I've found and stolen some SQL that give me the complete list for all but not the small versions, its below. Any ideas, it's started to make my head hurt. A virtual pint for the best answer. SELECT ProductId, (SELECT CAST(Tag + ', ' AS VARCHAR(MAX)) FROM ProductByTagView WHERE Product.ProductId = ProductByTagView.ProductId order by tag FOR XML PATH ('')) AS Tags FROM Product

  • Does .NET have a linker?

    - by Water Cooler v2
    From Jon Skeet's blog: What does the following comment mean? // The line below only works when linked rather than // referenced, as otherwise you need a cast. // The compiler treats it as if it both takes and // returns a dynamic value. string value = com.MakeMeDynamic(10); I understand what referencing an assembly is. You may reference it when compiling the program files either using the /ref: switch at the command line or you may add a statically reference to the assembly in Visual Studio. But how do you link to an assembly in .NET? Does he mean, load the assembly using Reflection (Assembly.LoadFile())? Or, the Win32 API LoadLibrary()? Or, does .NET have a linker that I have never heard of?

  • Linq to NHibernate - How to include parent object and only certain child objects

    - by vakman
    Given a simplified model like the following: public class Enquiry { public virtual DateTime Created { get; set; } public virtual Sender Sender { get; set; } } public class Sender { public virtual IList<Enquiry> Enquiries { get; set; } } How can you construct a Linq to Nhibernate query such that it gives you back a list of senders and their enquiries where the enquiries meet some criteria. I have tried something like this: return session.Linq<Enquiry>() .Where(enquiry => enquiry.Created < DateTime.Now) .Select(enquiry => enquiry.Sender) In this case I get an InvalidCastException saying you can't cast type Sender to type Enquiry. Any pointers on how I can do this without using HQL?

  • Printing the address of a struct object

    - by bdhar
    I have a struct like this typedef struct _somestruct { int a; int b; }SOMESTRUCT,*LPSOMESTRUCT; I am creating an object for the struct and trying to print it's address like this int main() { LPSOMESTRUCT val = (LPSOMESTRUCT)malloc(sizeof(SOMESTRUCT)); printf("0%x\n", val); return 0; } ..and I get this warning warning C4313: 'printf' : '%x' in format string conflicts with argument 1 of type 'LPSOMESTRUCT' So, I tried to cast the address to int like this printf("0%x\n", static_cast<int>(val)); But I get this error: error C2440: 'static_cast' : cannot convert from 'LPSOMESTRUCT' to 'int' What am I missing here? How to avoid this warning? Thanks.

  • Serializing Request.Form to a Dictionary or something

    - by André Alçada Padez
    Hi i need to pass my Request.Form as a parameter, but first i have to add some key/value pairs to it. I get the exception that the Collection is readonly. I've tried: System.Collections.Specialized.NameValueCollection myform = Request.Form; and i get the same error. and i've tried: foreach(KeyValuePair<string, string> pair in Request.Form) { Response.Write(Convert.ToString(pair.Key) + " - " + Convert.ToString(pair.Value) + "<br />"); } to test if i can pass it one by one to another dictionary, but i get: System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid. some help, anyone? Thanx

  • How to use C# nested structures to access tree of data

    - by zotty
    I'm importing some XML to C#, and want to be able to access data from the XML in the form of what I think is a nested structure. (I may be wrong!) What I have in my XML is in the following form: <hardwareSettings initial="true> <cameraSettings width="1024" height="768" depth="8" /> <tiltSettings theta="35" rho="90"> </hardwareSettings> I can import each setting alright, so I have them all in individual ints, but I would like to be able to access it in the form int x=hardwaresettings.camerasettings.width; int rho=hardwaresettings.tiltsettings.rho; I've tried various arrangements of structs within structs, but I don't seem able to cast a new object (hardwaresettings) that contains the appropriate children (camerasettings.width & tiltsettings.rho). Sorry if I'm not using the right lingo... I'm reading myself in circles here!

  • Me As Child Type In General Function

    - by Steven
    I have a MustInherit Parent class with two Child classes which Inherit from the Parent. How can I use (or Cast) Me in a Parent function as the the child type of that instance? EDIT: My actual goal is to be able to serialize (BinaryFormatter.Serialize(Stream, Object)) either of my child classes. However, "repeating the code" in each child "seems" wrong. EDIT2: This is my Serialize function. Where should I implement this function? Copying and pasting to each child doesn't seem right, but casting the parent to a child doesn't seem right either. Public Function Serialize() As Byte() Dim bFmt As New BinaryFormatter() Dim mStr As New MemoryStream() bFmt.Serialize(mStr, Me) Return mStr.ToArray() End Function

  • has_many conditions or proc on foreign key

    - by ere
    I have a has_many association between two models using a date as both the foreign and primary key for each model. It works perfectly one way but not the other. Works has_one :quiz_log, :primary_key => :start_at, :foreign_key => :start_at Doesn't work has_many :event_logs, :primary_key => :start_at, :foreign_key => :start_at The reason being (i think) because the start_at on QuizLog is a date and the start_at on EventLog is a datetime. So it returns nil trying to match the exact datetime on a simple date. How can I cast the foreign_key start_at on the second statement to convert it first from datetime to simply date so it will match the second model?

  • Question regarding two dimensional array

    - by Sherwood Hu
    I have some problems using two dimensional array in the code and need some help. static const int PATTERNS[20][4]; static void init_PATTERN() { // problem #1 int (&patterns)[20][4] = const_cast<int[20][4]>(PATTERNS); ... } extern void UsePattern(int a, const int** patterns, int patterns_size); // problem #2 UsePattern(10, PATTERNS, sizeof(PATTERNS)/sizeof(PATTERNS[0])); in the first statement, I need to cast the const off the two dimensional array PATTERNS. The reason for this is that the init function is called only once, and in the remaining code, PATTERNS is strictly read-only. In the second statement, I need to pass PATTERNS array to the int** argument. Direct passing resulted a compile error. Thanks!
