  • Adding Java packages to GWT

    - by Organiccat
    I've tried searching but couldn't come up with a defined way on how to add your own packages to a GWT project. My tree structure looks like this: -com.mycompany -public MyApplication.html MyApplication.gwt.xml -com.mycompany.client MyApp.java -com.mycompany.gui TableLayout.java The answer I've seen out there says to add the packages relative to the root directory of the gwt.xml file, like so: <module> <inherits name="com.google.gwt.user.User" /> <entry-point class="com.mycompany.client.MyApp" /> <source path="client" /> <source path="gui" /> </module> It then complains: Unable to find type 'com.technicon.client.MyApp' Hint: Previous compiler errors may have made this type unavailable Hint: Check the inheritance chain from your module; it may not be inheriting a required module or a module may not be adding its source path entries properly Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix this?

  • Is there any way to simplify a verbose SQL INSERT INTO(..) query?

    - by Soundar Rajan
    I have a table with one id (autonumber) field and 50 other fields. The table is normalized, these are 50 material properties etc. I want to copy a record from this table into the same table - only the autoincrement id will be different. The query I am using now is INSERT INTO tableName (field1,field2,....field50) SELECT field1,field2,....field50 from tableName WHERE autoid=1234; Note that I have to type in ALL the 50 field names, twice! Is there any way to shorten this query so I don't have to type all of them? Thanks.

  • CSS :after pseudo element on INPUT field

    - by matra
    Hi, I am trying to use :after CSS pseudo element on INPUT field, but it does not work. If I use it with SPAN, it works OK. <style type="text/css"> .mystyle:after {content:url(smiley.gif);} .mystyle {color:red;} </style> This works (puts the smily after "buu!" and berfore "some more") <span class="mystyle">buuu!</span>a some more This does not work - it only color someValue in red, but there is no smiley. <input class="mystyle" type="text" value="someValue"> What am I doing wrong? should I use another pseudo selector. Note: I can not add SPAN sround my INPUT; because it is being generated by a third party control. Matraj

  • C# xml serializer - Unable to generate a temporary class

    - by gosom
    I am trying to serialize an xml to a class with the following way: XmlSerializer ser = new XmlSerializer(typeof(PSW5ns.PSW5)); StringReader stringReader; stringReader = new StringReader(response_xml); XmlTextReader xmlReader; xmlReader = new XmlTextReader(stringReader); PSW5ns.PSW5 obj; obj = (PSW5ns.PSW5)ser.Deserialize(xmlReader); xmlReader.Close(); stringReader.Close(); the class PSW5 is generated automatically by xsd.exe using an PSW5.xsd file given to me. I have done the same for other classes and it works. Now i get the following error (during runtime) : {"Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1).\r\nerror CS0030: Cannot convert type 'PSW5ns.TAX_INF[]' to 'PSW5ns.TAX_INF'\r\nerror CS0029: Cannot implicitly convert type 'PSW5ns.TAX_INF' to 'PSW5ns.TAX_INF[]'\r\n"} I am confused because it works for other classes the same way. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks inadvance, Giorgos

  • Jersey message body reader not found in maven-built JAR

    - by Olvagor
    My application uses a REST (JAX-RS Jersey) interface. When I run it in Eclipse, everything' s fine. The domain objects are annotated, I'm not using XML files for the REST mapping. Now I created a standalone JAR using the maven-assembly-plugin, which packs the application and all dependencies in a single, executable JAR file. This also seems to work. But when I start the application and request an object from the server, Jersey complains, that it can't find a message body reader: com.sun.jersey.api.client.ClientHandlerException: A message body reader for Java type, class de.rybu.atuin.core.entity.User, and MIME media type, application/json, was not found Any ideas why this happens? EDIT: After I slept a night over it, I noticed that it complains about JSON... but I'm using only XML for serialization. Strange.

  • VIrtual class problem

    - by ugur
    What i think about virtual class is, if a derived class has a public base, let's say, class base, then a pointer to derived can be assigned to a variable of type pointer to base without use of any explicit type conversion. But what if, we are inside of base class then how can we call derived class's functions. I will give an example: class Graph{ public: Graph(string); virtual bool addEdge(string,string); } class Direct:public Graph{ public: Direct(string); bool addEdge(string,string); } Direct::Direct(string filename):Graph(filename){}; When i call constructor of Direct class then it calls Graph. Now lets think Graph function calls addedge. Graph(string str){ addedge(str,str); } When it calls addedge, even if the function is virtual, it calls Graph::edge. What i want is, to call Direct::addedge. How can it be done?

  • Semantic Diff Utilities

    - by rubancache
    I'm trying to find some good examples of semantic diff/merge utilities. The traditional paradigm of comparing source code files works by comparing lines and characters.. but are there any utilities out there (for any language) that actually consider the structure of code when comparing files? For example, existing diff programs will report "difference found at character 2 of line 125. File x contains v-o-i-d, where file y contains b-o-o-l". A specialized tool should be able to report "Return type of method doSomething() changed from void to bool". I would argue that this type of semantic information is actually what the user is looking for when comparing code, and should be the goal of next-generation progamming tools. Are there any examples of this in available tools?

  • scanf("%d", char*) - char-as-int format string?

    - by SF.
    What is the format string modifier for char-as-number? I want to read in a number never exceeding 255 (actually much less) into an unsigned char type variable using sscanf. Using the typical char source[] = "x32"; char separator; unsigned char dest; int len; len = sscanf(source,"%c%d",&separator,&dest); // validate and proceed... I'm getting the expected warning: argument 4 of sscanf is type char*, int* expected. As I understand the specs, there is no modifier for char (like %sd for short, or %lld for 64-bit long) is it dangerous? (will overflow just overflow (roll-over) the variable or will it write outside the allocated space?) is there a prettier way to achieve that than allocating a temporary int variable? ...or would you suggest an entirely different approach altogether?

  • jQuery ready function

    - by Darren Tarrant
    Can anyone tell me why the document ready function needs a call to function first please? I've been told that the setTimeout in the first below example (which does not work) would be evaluated and passed to ready, but I don't see what the difference would be for the function call in the second example (which works)? $(document).ready( setTimeout( function(){ $('#set_3').innerfade({ animationtype: 'fade', speed: 'slow', timeout: 3000, type: 'sequence', containerheight: '180' }); }, 2000); ); $(document).ready( function(){ setTimeout( function(){ $('#set_3').innerfade({ animationtype: 'fade', speed: 'slow', timeout: 3000, type: 'sequence', containerheight: '180' }); }, 2000); } );

  • Display two independent Tumblr blogs on one page?

    - by Jake Salvera
    I'd like to display two independent Tumblr blogs next to each other on one page. I'd like them to look identical to their Tumblr theme. What's the best way to do this? I'm able to use JavaScript to import the content like this: <div id="tumblr1"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://tumblr1.tumblr.com/js"></script> <div> <div id="tumblr2"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://tumblr2.tumblr.com/js"></script> <div> But the content obviously won't be styled. Is there a simpler way to do this? If not, is there a simple way to style the content I'm getting from the js?

  • How to dynamically load & unload a TinyMCE Plugin

    - by Matt Simpson
    Does anyone know if there is a way I can dynamically load and unload a TinyMCE plugin after TinyMCE has already been loaded? Specifically, I'm thinking about asking the user whether or not they wish to load the fullpage plugin using perhaps a radio button or something above TinyMCE: <input type="radio" name="fullpage" value="enabled" /> Enable Fullpage Plugin<br /> <input type="radio" name="fullpage" value="disabled" /> Disable Fullpage Plugin<br /> <textarea name="tinymce" id="tinymce">...</textarea> I suppose I could destroy the original instance and load a new config (one for enabled / one for disabled), but it seems as though there should be a more elegant way of loading and unloading plugins.

  • augment the factory pattern in java

    - by TP
    I am trying to use a factory pattern to create a QuestionTypeFactory where the instantiated classes will be like MultipleChoice, TrueFalseQuestion etc. The factory code looks something like this class QuestionFactory { public enum QuestionType { TrueFalse, MultipleChoice, Essay } public static Question createQuestion(QuestionType quesType) { switch (quesType) { case TrueFalse: return new TrueFalseQuestion(); case MultipleChoice: return new MultipleChoiceQuestion(); case Essay: return new EssayQuestion(); } throw new IllegalArgumentException("Not recognized."); } } This works ok for now. If I want to add another question type I will need to modify the factory class and I do not want to do that. How can I set it up so that each question class registers itself with the Factory so that when I add a new question type, I do not have to change the code for the factory? I am a bit new to java and am not sure how to do this.

  • How to send hashed data in SOAP request body?

Thanks.

  • Thoughts/Input about Database Design for a CMS

    - by dallasclark
    I'm just about to expand the functionality of our own CMS but was thinking of restructuring the database to make it simpler to add/edit data types and values. Currently, the CMS is quite flat - the CMS requires a field in the database for every type of stored value (manually created). The first option that comes to mind is simply a table which keeps the data types (ie: Address 1, Suburb, Email Address etc) and another table which holds values for each of these data types. Just like how Wordpress keeps values in the 'options' table, PHP serialize would be used to store an array of values. The second option is how Drupal works, the CMS creates tables for every data type. Unlike Wordpress, this can be a bit of an overkill but really useful for SQL queries when ordering and grouping by a particular value. What's everyone's thoughts?

I checked the code, no bugs everything is working fine.All the users are on Microsoft XPsp2 platform. Any help will be appreciated. Is this sufficient , or shall I provide any more input regarding the problem...?? OK I got it... the problem is when I type characters in HtmlEditor it keeps on continuing, i mean it should go to the end and automatically comes to the second line....but it is going on and on.how can I stop this.

  • Watching a variable for changes without polling.

    - by milkfilk
    I'm using a framework called Processing which is basically a Java applet. It has the ability to do key events because Applet can. You can also roll your own callbacks of sorts into the parent. I'm not doing that right now and maybe that's the solution. For now, I'm looking for a more POJO solution. So I wrote some examples to illustrate my question. Please ignore using key events on the command line (console). Certainly this would be a very clean solution but it's not possible on the command line and my actual app isn't a command line app. In fact, a key event would be a good solution for me but I'm trying to understand events and polling beyond just keyboard specific problems. Both these examples flip a boolean. When the boolean flips, I want to fire something once. I could wrap the boolean in an Object so if the Object changes, I could fire an event too. I just don't want to poll with an if() statement unnecessarily. import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStreamReader; /* * Example of checking a variable for changes. * Uses dumb if() and polls continuously. */ public class NotAvoidingPolling { public static void main(String[] args) { boolean typedA = false; String input = ""; System.out.println("Type 'a' please."); while (true) { InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(System.in); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr); try { input = br.readLine(); } catch (IOException ioException) { System.out.println("IO Error."); System.exit(1); } // contrived state change logic if (input.equals("a")) { typedA = true; } else { typedA = false; } // problem: this is polling. if (typedA) System.out.println("Typed 'a'."); } } } Running this outputs: Type 'a' please. a Typed 'a'. On some forums people suggested using an Observer. And although this decouples the event handler from class being observed, I still have an if() on a forever loop. import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStreamReader; import java.util.Observable; import java.util.Observer; /* * Example of checking a variable for changes. * This uses an observer to decouple the handler feedback * out of the main() but still is polling. */ public class ObserverStillPolling { boolean typedA = false; public static void main(String[] args) { // this ObserverStillPolling o = new ObserverStillPolling(); final MyEvent myEvent = new MyEvent(o); final MyHandler myHandler = new MyHandler(); myEvent.addObserver(myHandler); // subscribe // watch for event forever Thread thread = new Thread(myEvent); thread.start(); System.out.println("Type 'a' please."); String input = ""; while (true) { InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(System.in); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr); try { input = br.readLine(); } catch (IOException ioException) { System.out.println("IO Error."); System.exit(1); } // contrived state change logic // but it's decoupled now because there's no handler here. if (input.equals("a")) { o.typedA = true; } } } } class MyEvent extends Observable implements Runnable { // boolean typedA; ObserverStillPolling o; public MyEvent(ObserverStillPolling o) { this.o = o; } public void run() { // watch the main forever while (true) { // event fire if (this.o.typedA) { setChanged(); // in reality, you'd pass something more useful notifyObservers("You just typed 'a'."); // reset this.o.typedA = false; } } } } class MyHandler implements Observer { public void update(Observable obj, Object arg) { // handle event if (arg instanceof String) { System.out.println("We received:" + (String) arg); } } } Running this outputs: Type 'a' please. a We received:You just typed 'a'. I'd be ok if the if() was a NOOP on the CPU. But it's really comparing every pass. I see real CPU load. This is as bad as polling. I can maybe throttle it back with a sleep or compare the elapsed time since last update but this is not event driven. It's just less polling. So how can I do this smarter? How can I watch a POJO for changes without polling? In C# there seems to be something interesting called properties. I'm not a C# guy so maybe this isn't as magical as I think. private void SendPropertyChanging(string property) { if (this.PropertyChanging != null) { this.PropertyChanging(this, new PropertyChangingEventArgs(property)); } }

  • HttpTransportSE requestDump gives NullPointerException

    - by Chamila
    Hi, I'm trying to access a webservice in Android via Ksoap2 for android. The SoapObject is created ok, the S.o.p of the bodyOut outputs the desired strings. But when I do a requestDump of the HttpTransportSE object I create to make the call, a NullPointerException happens. In other words, the transport object is null. How can this happen? Web Service is at http://srilanka.lk:9080/services/CropServiceProxy?wsdl This service works very well with SoapUI. SoapUI Request <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:v1="http://schemas.icta.lk/xsd/crop/handler/v1/"> <soap:Header/> <soap:Body> <v1:getCropDataList> <v1:code>ABK</v1:code> </v1:getCropDataList> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> SoapUI Response <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"> <soapenv:Body> <ns1:getCropDataListResponse xmlns:ns1="http://schemas.icta.lk/xsd/crop/handler/v1/"> <ns1:cropInfo> <ns1:name>Ambul Kesel</ns1:name> <ns1:price>35.0</ns1:price> <ns1:location>Dambulla</ns1:location> </ns1:cropInfo> <ns1:cropInfo> <ns1:name>Ambul Kesel</ns1:name> <ns1:price>40.0</ns1:price> <ns1:location>Dambulla</ns1:location> </ns1:cropInfo> </ns1:getCropDataListResponse> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> Client Side Complex Type KvmSerializable implementation public class CropInfo implements KvmSerializable { private String name; private float price; private String location; @Override public Object getProperty(int arg0) { switch (arg0){ case 0: return name; case 1: return price; case 2: return location; default: return null; } } @Override public int getPropertyCount() { return 3; } @Override public void getPropertyInfo(int arg0, Hashtable arg1, PropertyInfo arg2) { switch (arg0){ case 0: arg2.type = PropertyInfo.STRING_CLASS; arg2.name = "Name"; break; case 1: arg2.type = Float.class; arg2.name = "Price"; break; case 2: arg2.type = PropertyInfo.STRING_CLASS; arg2.name = "Location"; break; default: break; } } @Override public void setProperty(int arg0, Object arg1) { switch(arg0){ case 0: name = arg1.toString(); break; case 1: price = Float.parseFloat(arg1.toString()); case 2: location = arg1.toString(); default: break; } } } Web Service Call public void btnOnClick(View v){ String NAMESPACE = "http://schemas.icta.lk/xsd/crop/handler/v1/"; String URL = "http://220.247.225.202:9080/services/CropServiceProxy.CropServiceProxyHttpSoap12Endpoint"; String method_name = "getCropDataList"; String SOAP_ACTION = "http://schemas.icta.lk/xsd/crop/handler/v1/getCropDataList"; SoapObject soap_request = new SoapObject(NAMESPACE, method_name); soap_request.addProperty("code", "ABK" ); SoapSerializationEnvelope envelope = new SoapSerializationEnvelope(SoapEnvelope.VER12); envelope.setOutputSoapObject(soap_request); envelope.addMapping(NAMESPACE, "cropInfo", CropInfo.class); //envelope.dotNet=true; Marshal floatMarshal = new MarshalFloat(); floatMarshal.register(envelope); System.out.println("body out : " + envelope.bodyOut.toString()); //AndroidHttpTransport http_transport = new AndroidHttpTransport(URL); HttpTransportSE http_transport = new HttpTransportSE(URL); try { //NullPointerException HERE System.out.println(http_transport.requestDump); http_transport.call(SOAP_ACTION, envelope); //because we should expect a vector, two kinds of prices are given Vector<CropInfo> result_array = (Vector<CropInfo>)envelope.getResponse(); if(result_array != null){ for (CropInfo current_crop: result_array){ System.out.println(current_crop.getName()); System.out.println(Float.toString(current_crop.getPrice())); } } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); answer.setText("error caught"); //System.out.println(http_transport.responseDump); } // String result_string[] = (String[])result; //answer.setText("returned"); } Can anyone explain this?

  • Is my form password being passed in clear text?

    - by liinkas
    This is what my browser sent, when logging into some site: POST http://www.some.site/login.php HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: Opera/8.26 (X2000; Linux i686; Z; en) Host: www.some.site Accept: text/html, application/xml;q=0.9, application/xhtml+xml, image/png, image/jpeg, image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, */*;q=0.1 Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.9 Accept-Charset: iso-8859-1, utf-8, utf-16, *;q=0.1 Accept-Encoding: deflate, gzip, x-gzip, identity, *;q=0 Referer: http://www.some.site/ Proxy-Connection: close Content-Length: 123 Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded lots_of_stuff=here&e2ad811=my_login_name&e327696=my_password&lots_of_stuff=here Can I state that anyone can sniff my login name and password for that site? Maybe just on my LAN? If so (even only on LAN ) then I'm shocked. I thought using <input type="password"> did something more than make all characters look like ' * ' p.s. If it matters I played with netcat (on linux) and made connection browser <= netcat (loged here) <= proxy <= remote_site
