  • Applescript for a Newbie: Copy file to a new folder.

    - by Mike
Hi there! I've also posted this on the macnn forums, but thought I may get a better response here. I was hoping to find some help with using applescript (something I have never tried before, though I have a good knowledge of php etc) I need to create an applescript that will copy specified files from one folder to a newly created folder. These files need to be specified in the applescript. so something like: start fileToBeMoved = "Desktop/Test Folder 1/test.doc" newfoldername = "Test Folder 2" make newfolder and name it 'newfoldername' copy 'fileToBeMoved' to 'newfolder' end I'm so sorry for the rubbish description! Hope someone can help! Thanks!

  • How to play music on site preventing direct file download

    - by Hugo Palma
I'm starting a blog with a hosted wordpress instance and i would like to be able to stream music using a flash player on some posts. The problem is that every player i find uses a simple param to get the file url which makes it very easy for someone to find that url and just download the file. A server side solution can be implemented as i have full access to the server.

How can I go about accomplishing this?

  • Reading a file in C++ which has integers

    - by Avinash
I want to read following file in C++. 000001011100110 100000010101100 001001001001100 110110000000011 000000010110011 011000110101110 111010011011110 011001010010000 I know already how many rows and columns is there in the file. I want to read each integer and store it in a 2-D matrix of ints. Each integers here means 0 is one entry and 1 is another entry. So in this example above there are 15 0's and 1s.

  • ASP.NET MVC - Appending data onto a file download

    - by aschepis
what is the best way to append data onto a file download? I figure that i can make my own class that implements InputStream and just consolidates two input streams (the file first, my additional data to append second.) but is there an existing view class that i can use to just return an InputStream or will i have to roll my own view class as well?

  • Create whole path automatically when writing to a new file

    - by Bernhard V
Hi, I want to write a new file with the Java FileWriter. I use it like this: FileWriter newJsp = new FileWriter("C:\\user\Desktop\dir1\dir2\filename.txt"); Now the dir1 and dir2 currently don't exist. I want Java to create them automatically if they aren't already there. Actually Java should set up the whole file path if not already existing. How can I achieve this?

  • How to "grep" out specific lline ranges of a file

    - by Mike
There are often times I'll grep -l whatev file to find what I'm looking for. Say the output is 1234: whatev 1 5555: whatev 2 6643: whatev 3 If I want to then just extract the lines between 1234 and 5555, is there a tool to do that? For static files I have a script that does wc -l of the file and then does the math to split it out with tail & head but that doesn't work out so well with log files that are constantly being written to.

  • file_get_contents() removing tab and new line characters

    - by Patrick Murray
I am having an issue today with the file_get_contents() function. When reading large files, the newline and tab characters are often removed. Here is a minified example of how I am using this. I hope I am not the only one who has encountered this issue! :O Thank you for your time! <?php $file_name = "template.html"; $data = array( 'title' => 'Hello, World!', 'content'=> 'Hey stackoverflow!'); $file_contents = file_get_contents($file_name); foreach($data as $comment_name => $replacement_value){ $search = "<!-- ".strtoupper($comment_name)." -->"; $file_contents = str_replace($search, $replacement_value, $file_contents); } echo $file_contents; ?>

  • How to play music on site preventing easy direct file download

The problem is that every player i find uses a simple param to get the file url which makes it very easy for someone to find that url and just download the file. I know that it's probably impossible to prevent this all together, but i at least don't want it to be obvious. A server side solution can be implemented as i have full access to the server.

  • How to perform an action when file changed?

    - by ZeissS
Hi, I want to create a script that checks an URL and perform an action (download + unzip) when the "Last-Modified" header of the remote file changed. I thought about fetching the header with curl but then I have to store it somewhere for each file and perform a date comparison. Does anyone have a different idea using (mostly) standard unix tools? thanks

  • How do I download an attachment from an annotation using client-side JScript?

    - by VVander
I'm trying to provide a link to the attachment of a note through the client-side JScript. The standard MS-made Notes component does this through the following url: [serverurl]/[appname]/Activities/Attachment/download.aspx?AttachmentType=5&AttachmentId={blahblahblah}&IsNotesTabAttachment=1&CRMWRPCToken=blahblahblah&CRMWRPCTokenTimeStamp=blahblahblah The problem is that I don't know how to get the Token or TokenTimeStamp, so I'm receiving an Access Denied error ("form is no longer available, security precaution, etc"). The only other way I can think of doing this is through the OData endpoint, but that would at best get me a base64 string that I still would have translate into a filestream to give to the browser (all of which seems like it would take forever to implement/figure out). I've found a few other posts that describe the same thing, but no one has answered them: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crmdevelopment/thread/6eb9e0d4-0c0c-4769-ab36-345fbfc9754f/ http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/is/crm/thread/45dabb6e-1c6c-4cb4-85a4-261fa58c04da

  • Download an save an image file on HDD with Cocoa

    - by Julien
I'm building a program, and I'm quite confident using Objective-C, but I don't know how to programmatically download a file from the web and copy it on the hard drive. I started with : NSString url = @"http://spiritofpolo.com/images/logo.png"; NSData* data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:url]]; But then I don't know what to do with the data... that sucks, no ;) Can somebody help?
