• Can I force my video card to work in a certain refresh rate?

  I have a GeForce GT 640 video card, but by default the screen flickers badly. And if I change the refresh rate to 59 Hz in NVIDIA Control Panel manually, everything is OK. I don't know why. Now the problem is, if the system restarts, the refresh rate become 60Hz, then the screen flicker is flickering. I need to change the refresh rate again. Can I keep the refresh rate to 59 Hz? Or it would be better if the screen doesn't flicker at 60 Hz.

  I downloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86-295.59.run from the official Nvidia website, I used in the terminal sudo sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-295.59.run the installation started and everything, but I got this ERROR: You appear to be running an X server; please exit X before installing. For further details, please see the section INSTALLING THE NVIDIA DRIVER in the README available on the Linux driver download page at www.nvidia.com. I'm a newbie to ubuntu, and I don't know so much codes, can you please tell me step by step?

  I Have an issue with the use of SimpleTimeZone class in Java. First, the JavaDoc is nice but not quite easy to understand in regards of the start and end Rules. So, my rules are : DST start the second sunday of March at 2am DST end the first sunday of november at 2am In 2012 (now) this give us the march 11 at 2am and November 4 at 2am You can see my test dates are set properly!!! Oh, btw, if anyone could elaborate on the : est.setStartRule(Calendar.MARCH, 8, -Calendar.SUNDAY, 2 * 60 * 60 * 1000); Why 8 means second week of march... and the -SUNDAY.   I am working with a compromised Ubuntu 8.04 Plesk 9.5.4 server. It seems that a script on the server is continuously doing reverse lookups to random IPs on the Internet. I might get many suggestions that the OS is out of date and so the Plesk, but please bear in mind there are some very concrete reasons why this server is running legacy software. My question is aimed at a advanced Linux systems administrators who have in depth experience with security compromises and using netstat and ps to get to the bottom of it.

  We are in need of a control in which we can show the elapsed time in "Hour:Min:Sec" format. This control should have a spin control attached with it. Whenever we spin the spin window, it should increment the selected option ( Either hour, or min , or sec). Also the Hour may have values between 0 to 99 , Min many have values between 0 to 59 and Sec may have values between 0 to 59. Is anybody know this type of control in WPF?
