  • How can I determine if jquery tab is shown because of user click or from tab rotation

    - by Richard Edwards
I've been using the jQuery UI tabs for a bit now and an interesting request has come up. The current tab setup is using the rotation feature. I need to find a way to determine if the tab is shown because of the result of the rotation itself, or because a user physically clicked the tab. I've wired up all of the standard events, show and select and they fire regardless of the source of the tab change. Does anyone have any ideas? Basically I'd like to do something additional if the user clicked the tab, but not if the tab changes by itself via the rotation. If I wire up the click even to the tabs themselves it doesn't seem to get fired at all, I'm assuming because the tabs widget is using that event itself.

  • Adding an overlay to Google maps with path taken

    - by user341652
Hi, I am trying to write a class to track a person's location(s), and to draw the path they've taken on a MapView. This feature of the program is for the user to track their speed, distance, path, etc. while running/cycling (or whatever else) using their Android phone. This is my first Android application, and I am not sure how to do the Overlay object for the MapView. I also wanted to see if anyone had opinions on the GPS-Tracking part I have written (if it would work, if there is a better way of doing it, code examples would be helpful). I currently have this for my GPSTrackerService: package org.drexel.itrain.logic; import java.util.Vector; import org.drexel.itrain.Constants; import android.app.Notification; import android.app.NotificationManager; import android.app.Service; import android.content.Context; import android.content.Intent; import android.content.SharedPreferences; import android.location.GpsSatellite; import android.location.GpsStatus; Thanks in Advance, Steve

  • prevent _doPostBack getting rendered in button markup

    - by Christo Fur
Hi Is it possible to prevent the _doPostBack() call getting rendered on a button? I would like add some custom logic prior to calling the postback. I have added an onClick event to the button e.g. <button id="manualSubmit" runat="server" class="manual-submit" onclick="$('#jeweller-form').hide();" /> However, this just gets rendered inline before the _doPostBack() But the postback gets fired before the jQueryHide takes place I would like to call my own JS function then manually trigger the postback any ideas?

  • Monitoring folders for changes

    - by blcArmadillo
I'm working on a project that will require an application that watches a list of directories the user specifies for changes. Also, I'd like to give the users the option of running the application as a service or on an individual basis. Since users can choose to run it on an individual basis I don't think listening for some operating system event triggered by the addition or deletion of files (if such events exist) would be sufficient. I thought about maybe calculating a checksum for the deepest folder and then building up. I could then compare these checksums on subsequent scans to try and pinpoint where the changes have occurred. Would that be an appropriate solution; if not what would be the best way of doing this in an efficient manner? Also, I'm not quite sure what to tag this as so if you have any recommendations let me know and I'll as them as I see fit. EDIT: I'll need this method to work on Windows, OS X, and ideally Linux

  • Cocos2D TouchesEnded not allowing me to access sprites?

    - by maiko
Hey Guys! Thanks so much for reading! - (void)ccTouchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch * touch = [touches anyObject]; CGPoint location = [[CCDirector sharedDirector] convertToGL: [touch locationInView:touch.view]]; CGRect myRect = CGRectMake(100, 120, 75, 113); int tjx = sprite.position.x; if(CGRectContainsPoint(myRect, location)) { tjx ++; } } For some reason, ccTouchesEnded isn't allowing me to access my "sprite". I also tried to use CGRectMake like so : CGRectMake( sprite.position.x, sprite.position.y, sprite.contentSize.Width, sprite.contentSize.Height) But I couldn't access my sprites position or height. I keep getting "sprite" undeclared when it is declared in the init method, and added to the child. Please help!! I'm sure i'm missing something really simple here.

  • What would you recommend for a large-scale Java data grid technology: Terracotta, GigaSpaces, Cohere

    - by cliff.meyers
I've been reading up on so-called "data grid" solutions for the Java platform including Terracotta, GigaSpaces and Coherence. I was wondering if anyone has real-world experience working any of these tools and could share their experience. I'm also really curious to know what scale of deployment people have worked with: are we talking 2-4 node clusters or have you worked with anything significantly larger than that? I'm attracted to Terracotta because of its "drop in" support for Hibernate and Spring, both of which we use heavily. I also like the idea of how it decorates bytecode based on configuration and doesn't require you to program against a "grid API." I'm not aware of any advantages to tools which use the approach of an explicit API but would love to hear about them if they do in fact exist. :) I've also spent time reading about memcached but am more interested in hearing feedback on these three specific solutions. I would be curious to hear how they measure up against memcached in the event someone has used both.

  • Telerik RadAjaxManager and Mouse Events in Chrome

    - by kuzco
Whenever I'm using Telerik's RadAjaxManager in Chrome, the events sent to any mouse events I'm using are passed as null. For instance, the following: <img id="Image1" src="image.gif" onclick="alert(event)" /> <rad:RadAjaxManager ID="RadAjaxManager1" runat="server"> <AjaxSettings> </AjaxSettings> </rad:RadAjaxManager> Alerts null when clicking the image. This does not happen in IE or FF. The version of the RadAjaxManager is 1.8.5.0. I'm guessing the problem does not occur in later versions, but an upgrade is not an option at the moment. I tried Telerik's support forum, but they didn't really provide any answer. What could cause such a problem? And how can it be dealt with?

  • Richfaces a4j achtionparam set null value

    - by Jurgen H
I am trying to reset some values in a form using the a4j:actionParam tag. But it seams that null values never arrive in the target bean. The converter receives it correctly, returns null, but it is never set in the bean. The target is to fill in the start and endDate for different predefined values (last week, last month etc). For the "This week" value, the endDate must be reset to null. <rich:menuItem value="Last week"> <a4j:support event="onclick" reRender="criteriaStartCalendar, criteriaEndCalendar"> <a4j:actionparam name="startDate" value="#{dateBean.lastWeekStart}" assignTo="#{targetBean.startDate}" /> <a4j:actionparam name="endDate" value="#{dateBean.lastWeekEnd}" assignTo="#{targetBean.endDate}" /> </a4j:support> </rich:menuItem>

  • Android x86 porting, unable to make it work

    - by Mr G
I'm kind of new to the whole porting issue and I got to it because of the slowness in the emulator provided with the Android SDK. I downloaded the android-x86-3.2-RC2-eeepc and android-x86-3.2-RC2-tegav2 ISO-es (from this site) and tried them on the VirtualBox but have no internet connection on the eeepc version and the tegev2 wont event start. I tried the VirtualBoxHowTo but got nothing, on both Windows and Linux platforms. the only thing I managed to understand is that to use this on a VM you need to build it for VM. Can anyone help me on this? P.S.: I need the HoneyComb version (3.2) and the pc I have is a AMD 6 core on and Asus Crosshair Extreme motherboard, Windows 7 or Ubunutu 11.10. (both OS are 64bit)

  • how to perform click to the output of ActionLink by jQuery or javascript?

    - by user324003
<%= Ajax.ActionLink("Edit", "Update", "Home", new { id = item.mID }, new AjaxOptions { OnBegin = "function(){ $('#edit" + item.mID + "').show();}", HttpMethod = "get", UpdateTargetId = "edit" + item.mID })%> The above code generates the html source code. when user click the link, it works well. But there're so many links there, I must click them one by one. Is there any method to click once, all of them excutes? I tried the method: $("a.buttonID").click() and modified the above code: <%= Ajax.ActionLink("Edit", "Update", "Home", new { id = item.mID }, new AjaxOptions { OnBegin = "function(){ $('#edit" + item.mID + "').show();}", HttpMethod = "get", UpdateTargetId = "edit" + item.mID } new{@class="buttonID"})%> But it doesn't work. Because it only excutes the onclick event of a tag, the href attribute doesn't work.

  • Where to execute extra logic for linq to entities query?

    - by Inez
    Let say that I want to populate a list of CustomerViewModel which are built based on Customer Entity Framework model with some fields (like Balance) calculated separately. Below I have code which works for lists - it is implemented in my service layer, but also I want to execute this code when I just get one item from the database and execute is as well in different services where I'm accessing Customers data as well. How should I do this to ensure performance but to to not duplicate code - the one for calculating Balance? public List<CustomerViewModel> GetCustomerViewModelList() { IQueryable<CustomerViewModel> list = from k in _customerRepository.List() select new CustomerViewModel { Id = k.Id, Name = k.Name, Balance = k.Event.Where(z => z.EventType == (int) EventTypes.Income).Sum(z => z.Amount) }; return list.ToList(); }

  • Persisting a collection backed by viewstate in a CompositeControl

    - by tomfanning
Maybe it's been a long day but I'm having trouble persisting a collection backed by the ASP.NET ViewState in a CompositeControl. Here's a simplified version: public class MyControl : CompositeControl { public Collection<MyObject> MyObjectCollection { get { return (Collection<MyObject>)ViewState["coll"] == null ? new Collection<MyObject>() : (Collection<MyObject>)ViewState["coll"]; } set { ViewState["coll"] = value; } } } public partial class TestPage : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void btn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { myControl1.MyObjectCollection.Add(new MyObject()); } } When the button is clicked, the event hander btn_Click executes fine, but the setter for MyObjectCollection never gets called, hence the new MyObject() never gets persisted. I think I'm just having a blonde moment. Anyone fancy helping out?

  • Triggers in Entity Framework - Need advice

    - by jaklucky
Hi all, I am new to Entity Framework and please pardon my ignorance. We have a simple application written using SQL Server and ADO.Net. Now we have got a new requirement that, whenever a particular rows get updated by our application, some business logic has to happen. I have been looking into Triggers in SQL server and it looks like we can do it using triggers. I am also looking at Entity Framework's OnPropertyChange capability. Is it possible to do it with "OnPropertyChange"? I mean, Can I create a model and implement "OnPropertyChange" method? And when our application modifies the rows using ADO.Net, then will it fire "OnPropertyChange" event so that my custome code in "OnPropertyChange" excutes? Thank you in advance for your inputs, Suresh

  • Subscribing to MSMQ over the internet

    - by Nathan Palmer
I haven't been able to find a clear answer to this problem. Is there a good way to subscribe to a MSMQ through the internet? Ideally I need security both in authentication and encryption for this connection. But I would like the subscriber to act just like any other client that would be subscribed on the local network. I believe I have a couple of options here Expose the MSMQ ports publicly Put the MSMQ behind some type of WCF service (not sure if that works for a subscriber) What other options do I have? We're sitting in a .NET environment and the main problem domain that is trying to be solved is to change the remote connections from a pulling system to an event based system to reduce the load on the main server.

  • How can developers use a similar tracking link to Google's results page?

    - by Peter Jones
I've read heaps of pages of people trying to implement some kind of tracking system similar to the way Google reroutes search link. Eg: Search "Facebook" in Google, open in a new window, and the link changes to something like: "http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CBkQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F&rct=j&q=Facebook&ei=sksZTZexJobJccXnxZYK&usg=AFQjCNHTTNi-O4Qgrg6kvGVfKJuRqbuOKw&cad=rja" I'm guessing Google tracks that click and then redirects to the actual site by reading the url parameter. What I wanted to know is if there was a simple way that you can make this kind of functionality work using an onclick event - just change the link href after being clicked to redirect? There's a few threads, but from what I could find, nobody has actually succeeded without problems or limitations. Thanks in advance.

  • MVVM (ICommand) in Silverlight

    - by Andrey Khataev
Hello! Please, don't judge strictly if this question was discussed previously or indirectly answered in huge nearby prism and mvvm blogs. In WPF implementation of RelayCommand or DelegateCommand classes there is a such eventhandler /// <summary> /// Occurs whenever the state of the application changes such that the result of a call to <see cref="CanExecute"/> may return a different value. /// </summary> public event EventHandler CanExecuteChanged { add { CommandManager.RequerySuggested += value; } remove { CommandManager.RequerySuggested -= value; } } but in SL subset of namespaces there are no CommandManager class. And this is where I'm stuck. I haven't yet found an workaround for this in MVVM adoptation for SL (PRISM is so complex for me yet). Different simple HelloWorldMVVM apps don't deal with at all. Thanks in advance and sorry for my English -)

  • adjust selected File to FileFilter in a JFileChooser

    - by amarillion
I'm writing a diagram editor in java. This app has the option to export to various standard image formats such as .jpg, .png etc. When the user clicks File-Export, you get a JFileChooser which has a number of FileFilters in it, for .jpg, .png etc. Now here is my question: Is there a way to have the extension of the default adjust to the selected file filter? E.g. if the document is named "lolcat" then the default option should be "lolcat.png" when the png filter is selected, and when the user selects the jpg file filter, the default should change to "lolcat.jpg" automatically. Is this possible? How can I do it? edit: Based on the answer below, I wrote some code. But it doesn't quite work yet. I've added a propertyChangeListener to the FILE_FILTER_CHANGED_PROPERTY, but it seems that within this method getSelectedFile() returns null. • Flex Datagrid File Download old value

    - by Vish
Hi, We use a AIR client and WAMP server. Got a weird issue with Flex datagrid. When I download an image by double clicking on a datagrid row, the file gets downloaded correctly. But when I go on to select another row for download, even though the correct parameters are being passed, it again prompts download of old file. Upon cancelling that and trying again, it picks up the selected row. Not sure how to fix this issue, below is the datagrid code I am using, <mx:DataGrid x="10" y="10" id="ourDataGrid" visible="true" enabled="true" dataProvider="{fileList}" verticalScrollPolicy="on" selectionColor="#B7C6E7" itemClick="downloadFile(event)"> <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Name" dataField="@name" /> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="LastName" dataField="@lastname" /> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="FirstName" dataField="@firstname" /> </mx:columns> </mx:DataGrid>
