  • Background-image won't change using jquery in IE6

    - by slav
    There is a panel on my page with no default background-image css. On load it is set with jquery to an initial image, waits for 10 seconds then loads a random image out of some predetermined images. There are previous and next buttons which allow you to cycle through the images. In ie6 the initial image loads and then a random image also loads after 10 seconds, however pressing prev/next causes the background to become white and the images aren't loaded. With alerts I was able to find that it's still keeping track of the position and url of the image it's supposed to load, but just won't load it. Here is the code below. <script type="text/javascript"> var facts = new Array(); var position; $(document).ready(function() { <xsl:for-each select="$currentPage/ancestor-or-self::node[@level=1]/../node[@nodeName='Fun Fact Folder']/node"> facts[<xsl:value-of select="position()" />] = '<xsl:value-of select="." />'; </xsl:for-each> if(window.location.pathname == "/homepage.aspx" || window.location.pathname == "/") { $(".fun_facts_bg").css("background-image", "url(images/fun_fact_homepage.JPG)"); setTimeout("randomFact()",10000); } else { randomFact(); } }); function randomFact() { $("a.previous_button").css("display", "block"); $("a.next_button").css("display", "block"); position = Math.ceil(Math.random() * (facts.length - 1)); changeFact(0); } function changeFact(increment) { position = checkPosition(position, increment); $(".fun_facts_bg").css("background-image", "url(" + facts[position] + ")"); } <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">&lt;!--//--&gt;&lt;![CDATA[//&gt;&lt;!-- function checkPosition(currentPos, increment) { currentPos = currentPos + increment; if (currentPos &gt; facts.length - 1) { currentPos = 1; } else if (currentPos &lt; 1) { currentPos = facts.length - 1; } return currentPos; } //--&gt;&lt;!]]&gt;</xsl:text> </script> <a class="previous_button" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="changeFact(-1);"> <a class="next_button" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="changeFact(1);">

  • Activate Lightbox by clicking on LI rather than thumbnail

    - by NightMICU
    Hi everyone, Using Lightbox for a photo gallery and would like to initiate the function by clicking on the thumbnail's parent <li>rather than the thumbnail image. I have been able to do this easily with the thumbnail for the album (not using Lightbox, simply opening another page) with the following code: $(".item").click(function(){ window.location=$(this).find("a").attr("href");return false; }); However, can't seem to initiate Lightbox in a similar fashion. Ideas? Thanks!

  • Jquery toggle functions

    - by ozsenegal
    I've a code to sort table using Jquery.I use toggle function to alternate clicks,and toggle beetween 'ascend' and 'descend' sort.Once you click header's table it should sort it contents. However,there's a bug: I click once,it sorts,then when i click again,nothing happens.I need to click again (second time) to execute the second function,and sort again. Toggle should switch functions with single clicks,not double,am i right? Here is the code: firstRow.toggle(function() { $(this).find("th:first").removeClass("ascendFirst").addClass("descendFirst"); $(this).find("th:not(first)").removeClass("ascend").addClass("descend"); sorted = $.makeArray($("td:eq(0)", "tr")).sort().reverse(); sorted2 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(1)", "tr")).sort().reverse(); sorted3 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(2)", "tr")).sort().reverse(); for (var i = 0; i < sorted.length; i++) { $("td", "tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").remove(); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted2[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted3[i]).text())); } }, function() { $(this).find("th:first").removeClass("descendFirst").addClass("ascendFirst"); $(this).find("th:not(first)").removeClass("descend").addClass("ascend"); sorted = $.makeArray($("td:eq(0)", "tr")).sort(); sorted2 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(1)", "tr")).sort(); sorted3 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(2)", "tr")).sort(); for (var i = 0; i < sorted.length; i++) { $("td", "tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").remove(); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted2[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted3[i]).text())); } });

  • How can I save and read to XML the new C++ style matrix objects in OpenCV?

    - by neuviemeporte
    The old, C style cvMat matrices could be passed to the cvSave() function for easy writing to an XML file. The new C++ style cv::Mat and cv::Mat_ matrices are not accepted by this function. The OpenCV reference has a section on XML persistence, but the three classes (FileStorage, FileNode and FileNodeIterator) lack any description or example and I can't figure out how to use them from the interface. Thanks.

  • Dynamic Comparison Operators in PHP

    - by BenTheDesigner
    Hi All Is it possible, in any way, to pass comparison operators as variables to a function? I am looking at producing some convenience functions, for example (and I know this won't work): function isAnd($var, $value, $operator = '==') { if(isset($var) && $var $operator $value) return true; } if(isAnd(1, 1, '===')) echo 'worked'; Thanks in advance.

  • What features would you like to see removed from C++?

    - by Justin Ethier
    This question was inspired by what-features-would-you-like-to-see-added-to-c. anBasically, C++ is a great general-purpose language. But perhaps too general and feature-rich... multiple inheritance, operator overloading, manual memory management, templates, smart pointers, virtual destructors, legacy frameworks (think MFC), and I could just go on. Is there any one feature / aspect of C++ that you would like taken away, to make our lives easier as C++ developers? One feature per answer, please.

  • High-level languages for out-of-the-box GUI desktop application programming

    - by Omeoe
    After I discontinued programming in C++ while entering into web authoring I was spoilt by PHP's high level constructs like hash tables or its dynamic, weak typing. I remembered the angst of C/C++ pointers and the maze of low-level Win32 API handles and message loops and that prevented me from utilizing environments like Code::Blocks for desktop applications. I am also not very fond of bulky, statically-typed C#/.NET environment. Any other ideas?

  • How to iterate all query paths within an image header namespace in WIC?

    - by muruge
    Hello All, I am using Windows Imaging Component to read/write image metadata in my WPF application. I would like to know if there is an efficient way to know if any paths exist within a namespace. For instance I would like to know if any paths within IPTC namespace exist and if not I want to delete the namespace from the image header. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Murugesh.

  • Radio button inside anchor element is reset after jQuery click handler

    - by GrievousAngel
    I have a situation where an element, of type radio, is contained in an element. The anchor element has a href but I want to override that behaviour by adding a jQuery 'click' handler to the element. The click handler makes the radio button inside it the selected one within the group. This all works when the anchor is clicked, however, when the radio button is clicked it appears that jQuery resets the selected radio to the previously selected one! Here is a the simplified page that duplicates the issue: <html> <head> <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#a1").click(function(event) { anchorClicked("a1"); return false; }); $("#a2").click(function(event) { anchorClicked("a2"); return false; }); }); function anchorClicked(anchorId) { $('#' + anchorId + ' input:radio').attr("checked", true); alert("Look at what is selected and what happens after the event when this dialog is closed!"); } </script> </head> <body> <form> <ul> <li id="li1"> <a id="a1" href="javascript:alert('default functionality')"> <input value="1" name="rb" type="radio" id="rb1"> <span>Details 1</span> </a> </li> <li id="li2"> <a id="a2" href="javascript:alert('default functionality')"> <input value="2" name="rb" type="radio" id="rb2"> <span>Details 2</span> </a> </li> </ul> </form> </body> Does anyone have any idea how I can prevent jQuery for resetting the radio button?

  • Cleaning up a dynamic array of Objects in C++

    - by Dr. Monkey
    I'm a bit confused about handling an array of objects in C++, as I can't seem to find information about how they are passed around (reference or value) and how they are stored in an array. I would expect an array of objects to be an array of pointers to that object type, but I haven't found this written anywhere. Would they be pointers, or would the objects themselves be laid out in memory in an array? In the example below, a custom class myClass holds a string (would this make it of variable size, or does the string object hold a pointer to a string and therefore take up a consistent amount of space. I try to create a dynamic array of myClass objects within a myContainer. In the myContainer.addObject() method I attempt to make a bigger array, copy all the objects into it along with a new object, then delete the old one. I'm not at all confident that I'm cleaning up my memory properly with my destructors - what improvements could I make in this area? class myClass { private string myName; public unsigned short myAmount; myClass(string name, unsigned short amount) { myName = name; myAmount = amount; } //Do I need a destructor here? I don't think so because I don't do any // dynamic memory allocation within this class } class myContainer { int numObjects; myClass * myObjects; myContainer() { numObjects = 0; } ~myContainer() { //Is this sufficient? //Or do I need to iterate through myObjects and delete each // individually? delete [] myObjects; } void addObject(string name, unsigned short amount) { myClass newObject = new myClass(name, amount); myClass * tempObjects; tempObjects = new myClass[numObjects+1]; for (int i=0; i<numObjects; i++) tempObjects[i] = myObjects[i]); tempObjects[numObjects] = newObject; numObjects++; delete newObject; //Will this delete all my objects? I think it won't. //I'm just trying to delete the old array, and have the new array hold // all the objects plus the new object. delete [] myObjects; myObjects = tempObjects; } }

  • global static boolean pointer causes segmentation fault using pthread

    - by asksw0rder
    New to pthread programming, and stuck on this error when working on a C++&C mixed code. What I have done is to call the c code in the thread created by the c++ code. There is a static boolean pointer used in the thread and should got free when the thread finishes. However I noticed that every time when the program processed into the c function, the value of the boolean pointer would be changed and the segmentation fault then happened due to the free(). Detail code is as follows: static bool *is_center; // omit other codes in between ... void streamCluster( PStream* stream) { // some code here ... while(1){ // some code here ... is_center = (bool*)calloc(points.num,sizeof(bool)); // start the parallel thread here. // the c code is invoked in this function. localSearch(&points,kmin, kmax,&kfinal); // parallel free(is_center); } And the function using parallel is as follows (my c code is invoked in each thread): void localSearch( Points* points, long kmin, long kmax, long* kfinal ) { pthread_barrier_t barrier; pthread_t* threads = new pthread_t[nproc]; pkmedian_arg_t* arg = new pkmedian_arg_t[nproc]; pthread_barrier_init(&barrier,NULL,nproc); for( int i = 0; i < nproc; i++ ) { arg[i].points = points; arg[i].kmin = kmin; arg[i].kmax = kmax; arg[i].pid = i; arg[i].kfinal = kfinal; arg[i].barrier = &barrier; pthread_create(threads+i,NULL,localSearchSub,(void*)&arg[i]); } for ( int i = 0; i < nproc; i++) { pthread_join(threads[i],NULL); } delete[] threads; delete[] arg; pthread_barrier_destroy(&barrier); } Finally the function calling my c code: void* localSearchSub(void* arg_) { // omit some initialize code... // my code begin_papi_thread(&eventSet); // Processing k-means, omit codes. // is_center value will be updated correctly // my code end_papi_thread(&eventSet); // when jumping into this, error happens return NULL; } And from gdb, what I have got for the is_center is: Breakpoint 2, localSearchSub (arg_=0x600000000000bc40) at streamcluster.cpp:1711 1711 end_papi_thread(&eventSet); (gdb) s Hardware watchpoint 1: is_center Old value = (bool *) 0x600000000000bba0 New value = (bool *) 0xa93f3 0x400000000000d8d1 in localSearchSub (arg_=0x600000000000bc40) at streamcluster.cpp:1711 1711 end_papi_thread(&eventSet); Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  • What/Where are the Naming Rules for Controller actions in a Zend_Application App

    - by Alan Storm
    I've created a Zend_Application using the zf tool that's bundled with Zend Framework (1.96, if that matters) What at the rules for formatting action names and how those action names get translated into into URL paths, and where in the Framework codebase does this happen? I ask because I tried to create an action like public function createFooAction() { } and it wouldn't load with a URL like http://example.com/controller/createFoo BUT, the following did work public function createfooAction() { } http://example.com/controller/createfoo I also know non-alphanumeric characters get treated differently, and I'd like to know the base rules I'm dealing with.

  • Matching strings

    - by Joy
    Write the function subStringMatchExact. This function takes two arguments: a target string, and a key string. It should return a tuple of the starting points of matches of the key string in the target string, when indexing starts at 0. Complete the definition for def subStringMatchExact(target,key): For example, subStringMatchExact("atgacatgcacaagtatgcat","atgc") would return the tuple (5, 15).
