What would be the quickest way to convert a bunch of pdf files to jpeg files? I know I can open Preview and Save As image, but that could take a long time.
Thanks for any help.
I'm building up an online store written in PHP. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for open source (or otherwise) product recommendation plugins?
Ideally I'd like something that stores all its information locally on my server, and can provide good recommendations of products based on previous purchases and clicks.
Any hints appreciated!

When open explore and enter \192.168.1.xxx\c$ and prompt to ask login id and password, where does this login info save to? And even if I choose not to save, seems the session will still remain until reboot? Can the community please suggestion some keyword to this and explain how it works a bit? Thanks.
I love using Dropbox to sync files between all my machines, and I've heard it uses rsync internally to keep files synced.
Sometimes I need to sync very large things, and I don't necessarily want to pay for storage space on someone else's server when I have my own. So does anyone know of any nice cross-platform (pref. open source) automatic file-sync applications out there for this?
sidenote: Here is a Dropbox referral link, if you're feeling generous.

I hibernated my Windows 7 desktop PC, replaced the SATA cables of my 2 hard drives (without paying attention to which ports they were connected), and resumed the system. Everything appeared normal and it entered the desktop with all the applications previously open before hibernation. However, after a few seconds, the screen became frozen and the system no longer responded to anything (mouse/keyboard/network ping).
Does anyone have a definitive answer on whether changing SATA ports of the HDDs during hibernation would crash a Windows 7 system?
I recently upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 8 successfully. Other application are working perfectly except wampserver. When I double click on the desk top icon, it shows red on the tray bar and then the color changes but when I click Start All Services, nothing happens. Localhost does not open in webbrowser. Skype is not running on my computer, i don't know if there is other application using the same port in Win8. Please help!

Hi,
whenever I turn on Chrome, it crashes after a very short while (less than a minute). It started happening about a week ago for no apparent reason. I didn't install any new software, update or uninstall anything (as far as I remember), it just crashes. It doesn't matter wether I even open any page or not, Chrome just dies, period.
Doesn't anybody have an idea why might that be?
I'm running on Windows Vista Home Basic.
When I use Finder to locate a set of files, I want to save the list of files to a text file (preferably with path names).
I know I can open the shell and use 'find', but what's the point of having a GUI if you have to remember the syntax for shell commands still to get the job done? :)
Is there a way to save the result list to a file?
I need to open a specific port on my mac client (because when I try to connect from server it says "target machine actively refused it ").My problem though is I cannot find a way to add a specific port on my latest Mac OS.
I go to system pref-securtiy &privacy-firewall- turn it on (FWIW
connection didnt work when I had turned it off)-Firewall options-"+"
This gives me an option to add some application but not a port .Can someone point me to the right place to add the port?
I have an old Word 2007 document that I don't remember the password for. I'm guessing a brute force attack is the way to go to get it open. Anyone know of any free tools I can use to do this?
Hi,
Does anybody know of a good tool to collect and analyse the application logs from a number of different Windows servers running on VMWare? All servers are on the same domain.
Ideally the tool would be free and open source.
Thanks
Why does MS SQL Server Management Studio almost freeze up my computer while it restores? It makes it so when I click on the clock it takes seconds for the calendar to open. I don't see why this should be since I have 4 gigs of ram and a dual core CPU. Thanks
When adding a new bookmark with Ctrl+D in Firefox, it used to ask me where to put it in terms of bookmark directory structure.
However, recently it's not even bothering to ask me and put the bookmark under the bookmark menu by default.
Then I always need to open the bookmark menu and drag & drop to the right sub folder, which is quite tedious.
Is there any way to make Firefox ask me where to put the bookmark everytime I add one?
The first part of the stack-trace is as follows: "UnsatisfiedLinkError (/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.19/jre/lib/i386/libawt.so: libmlib_image.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory):"
Both libawt.so and libmlib_image.so exist and are in the same directory. Does libawt.so look in a different directory? Is there an environment option I'm missing?
This is part of a Rails application using Rjb (ruby-java bridge).

I am new at Amazon Cloud technologies. I ve set up an Amazon Linux instance created my keys and assigned elastic IP. Also, I opened all TCP, UDP, ICMP ports(ok, it's very dangerous, but I am using it for test purposes). I ve also installed Apache server and enabled it. But still cant ping or access my instance via IP. Any ideas?

When I hit Start-Run and type "Chrome", nothing happens (no new "chrome.exe" process is launched, not error, nothing).
When I hit Start (without "Run"), type Chrome and run it, it works.
How do I find what shortcut is run via Start-Run ? When I open a command prompt and write "Chrome.exe", it doesn't recognize it as an executable program.

I have some applications that I open from time to time, and I always get this UAC message with
Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?
Is there a way I can mark a single program so that won't ask me that again? Like, I think it is good that it asks me the first time, but some programs I do launch more often, and I am ok with them making changes and don't want to be asked all the time.
Chrome seems to insist of downloading everything to some final location on my hard drive.
i would really prefer it to download to my temp folder, then do a "move" operation later.
This is especially required when i just want to "Open" the file (i.e. a .torrent), and then be done with the file.
How do?
