  • nHibernate versus LLBLGen Pro

    I am trying to work out with ORM tool to move over to and have narrowed it down to two candidates. nHibernate or LLBLGen Pro Please can you guys give me pros and cons in using both these tools especially if you have experience in both. I am not really interested in any other tools but am wanting some heads up so I can decide which tool to spend time learning....   • Does generation of debug information to JSP classes add much to javac execution time?

    Hi I am looking looking into the options for tweaking the performance of JBoss 5.1.0 and one of the options available to me is to disable the generation of debug information when compiling JSPs. I know that the presence/absence of debug information for the JVM makes no real difference, but does the generation of that debug information add much to compile time? Thanks in advance Richard

  • IE has restricted this webpage from running scripts problem

    Hi, I would like to have some rotating sequential images on my home page of my website. I do not know how to do this and have found code on the internet for only displaying random images. The main problem is this. Every time the page loads I get a pop-up "to help protect your security, IE has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer". Please can someone help prehaps with an example to enable this to work without this pop-up Thanks Richard

  • Egy DBA napja - Utópia, vagy sem?

    Ma délelott a HOUG BI/DW és DB szakmai napján tartottam egy eloadást arról, hogyan kellene egy DBA-nak dolgoznia manapság. A lényeg az volt, hogy az üzlet legjobb kiszolgálása érdekében célszeru a felhasználók és az alkalmazás oldaláról megközelíteni a kérdést. Azaz monitorozzuk a felhasználók elégedettségét, majd ha valami nem stimmel fúrjunk le alsóbb rétegekbe (MW, DB, OS, HW, Storage, Network), és ott folytassuk a diagnosztikát. Meglepetésemre az eloadást követoen a DB szakosztály vezetoje úgy kommentálta az eloadást, hogy ez még utópisztikus. Ma délután egy a hallgatók között ülo üzemeltetési igazgató e-mail-ben jelezte, hogy ezzel o sem ért egyet, mert ok már most is így üzemeltetnek, még ha nem is minden elemében a Grid Control-t használják. És mi sem bizonyítja jobban, hogy ez az üzemeltetési model nem utópia, mint hogy az Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g tökéletes támogatást ad minderre.     A héten megjelent az Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Windows platformra is, így lett teljes a kép a legfontosabb szerver operációs rendszerek körében, ezáltal az OWB kliens is hozzáférheto lett Windows-on. Az OWB az Oracle piacvezeto ETL eszköze, extraction, transformation, load - adatkinyerés, betöltés és átalakítás. Az Oracle Warehouse Builder Java-s kliens programja eddig is elérheto volt Linuxon, most már supportáltan megvan Windows-ra is (kis hegesztéssel eddig is lehetett a Linux-os Java-s változatot használni Windows-on). Az OWB vindózos kliens kétféle módon érheto el: - a Database 11gR2 Windows install készlet telepítésével automatikusan felkerül, letöltés - önállóan is felrakható más gépre (standalon), letöltés, itt a Linux kliens is megtalálható. Ez a standalone verzió most jelent meg az OTN-en 2-3 órája. :)

    Korábban már írtam arról, hogy Oracle VM Template-ek érhetok el a fontosabb termékeink esetében, így elkerülheto Oracle VM használata esetén az Oracle szoftverek telepítésének macerája. Azonban az Oracle VM tipikusan szerver környezetben használatos virtualizációs technológia, így aki az Oracle VM Virtualbox-ot szeretné használni saját gépén Oracle környezetek kialakítására, azok számára jó hír, hogy Virtualbox esetében is számos kész környezet, image töltheto le. Oracle Database esetén a legfrissebb 11gR2 verzió töltheto így le, mely tartalmazza az In-Memory Database Cache kiegészítést, az SQL Developer-t (Data Modeler-rel együtt), a JDeveloper-t és természetesen az Application Express-t is. Mindezt Oracle Linux-on, de van lehetoség Solaris image, Java, vagy akár SOA & BPM fejlesztoi környezet letöltésére is.

    Gyakran jön elo az a kérdés, hogy az egyes adatbázis verziók meddig támogatottak. Egy-két éve vezette be az Oracle a Lifetime Support Policy-t, ami tulajdonképpen az összes termék esetében szabályozza a teljes életciklus alatti támogatási szinteket. Ennek megfeleloen 3 támogatási szint létezik: - Premier Support: Ez a megjelenéstol számítva 5 évig ad teljes támogatást. - Extended Support: További 3 év támogatás magasabb áron. Közel ugyanazt a szolgáltatást nyújtja, mint a Premier Support, csupán más gyártók új termékeivel, vagy új verzióival nem certifikál. - Sustaining Support: Technikai támogatás mindaddig, amíg a rendszer muködik. Új hibákra már nem ad javítást, és új Oracle termékekkel sem certifikál

    Hey'a guys, I have an issue with the Youtube Player within Ubuntu, it seems that when playing videos there in black & white, no matter if there normal or HD. I kind of figured out how to prevent this from happening by deleting the cookie PREF that holds a KV Pair like so: PREF f1=50000000&fv=10.2.154 .youtube.com / Sat, 12 Mar 2011 11:38:29 GMT The issue is the Flash Version key, when I Delete this the color comes back, but obviously when I navigate to another page the cookie is set again. Does anyone know why this issue occurs and a possible fix? Using Latest Google Chrome on the latest version of Ubuntu (Installed 3 days ago) Thanks

    Ma délelott lezajlott az Oracle Technology Fórum rendezvény. A Database szekcióban Tóth Csaba tartotta a nyitó eloadást, melyben az IT költségek csökkentési lehetoségeirol beszélt Oracle Database 11g felhasználásával. Ot követoen én beszéltem az Oracle Enterprise Manager által kínált extrém menedzsment képességekrol, amely ma már nem csak adatbázis menedzsmentet jelent, hanem a teljes alkalmazás infrastruktúra üzemeltetésre koncentrál, kiemelt figyelmet fordítva az üzlet valós kiszolgálására. Szünet elott még Mosolygó Feri tartott egy eloadást az adatbázis-kezelo és a felho kapcsolatáról, majd szünet után Fekete Zoltán folytatta a Database Machine bemutatásával. Zoli után ismét Mosolygó Feri tartott eloadást ezúttal az adatbázis biztonságról, majd én zártam a napot a kockázatmentes változáskezelés témával.

  • running jar in a terminal using axis2

    I'm trying to run in the command line a java application distributed in a jar file. It call an axis2 web service, so the jar contains a /axis2client directory with rampart.mar security module. It works fine while I run it in netbeans, but it throws an exception if I try to run it in a terminal using this command: java -jar myfile.jar The Exception: org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: invalid url: //file:/home/xxx/Desktop/myfile.jar!/axis2client/ (java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: //file:/home/xxx/Desktop/myfile.jar) As you can see, it's trying to use the /axis2client directory inside the jar, as when I run it in Netbeans, but It fails with a MalformedURLException. I think it's something about the protocol 'file:', probably '//file:/' must be 'file:///'. The problem is that I cannot change this call to the directory because the method that loads the /axis2client directory it's not mine, it's from another library that use my project and include all the axis2 support. So, any idea?? Thanks in advance lads!
