  • PHP Force Download Causing 0 Byte Files

    - by Alex
Hey, I'm trying to force download files from my web server using PHP. I'm not a pro in PHP but I just can't seem to get around the problem of files downloading in 0 bytes in size. CODE: $filename = "FILENAME..."; header("Content-type: $type"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment;filename=$filename"); header("Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary"); header('Pragma: no-cache'); header('Expires: 0'); set_time_limit(0); readfile($file); Can anybody help? Thanks.

  • Why does strlen not working for me?

    - by tushar
char p[4]={'h','g','y'}; cout<<strlen(p); This code prints 3. char p[3]={'h','g','y'}; cout<<strlen(p); This prints 8. char p[]={'h','g','y'}; cout<<strlen(p); This again prints 8. Please help me as I can't figure out why three different values are printed by changing the size of the array.

  • Determining Terminal lines/cols via PHP CLI

    - by eFrane
I know that it is quite easy to figure out a terminal's size parameters via the stty -a command. When using local CLI PHP scripts, there is no problem at all on grabbing that output via system() or so. But I am trying the same thing via a php script started from an ssh command. Sadly, all that stty ever returns is: stty: standard input: Invalid argument. The calling code is: exec('stty -a | head -n 1', $query); echo $query[0]; So the question is: If I can output to the terminal and read input from it (e.g. can fread() from STDIN and fwrite() to STDOUT in PHP, shouldn't stty also have valid STDIN and STDOUT?

  • FtpWebResponse and StreamReader - specifying an offset

    - by AJ
Hi, I am using the FtpWebRequest / FtpWebResponse objects in C# to download files from a server - so far, so good. I create a StreamReader object from the response stream and use a StreamWriter to create a local file. Now, the file I am reading happens to be in a very simple 'archive' format - there is a small TOC at the start of the file followed by the actual file data. I can therefore read the TOC and get a file offset and size of the data I want to download. My question is: Supposing the offset is 1024. I would use StreamReader.Read(buffer, 1024, length), but will .NET and the FTP protocol actually allow me to skip bytes 0-1023, or does the reader still go through the (relatively) slow process of downloading and discarding the bytes I don't need? This may make the difference between whether I want to use a single archive file, or a TOC file with the data files stored separately. As a bit of a secondary question, would my mileage vary using the Http classes instead of Ftp? Cheers, Adam

  • SVN - When you tag a working copy is it still a cheap copy?

    - by mcdon
Using Subversion, in my working copy I make a minor modification (update a version number). I would then like to tag my working copy. Would this tag still be a cheap copy with the modification, or would SVN duplicate the files? I would hate to see my repository grow enormously in size because I'm trying to save a version number change. The reason I ask about creating a tag that contains a modification rather than committing then tagging involves my build server. The build server creates a CCNetLabel which I use to update the version numbers of my projects (AssemblyInfo.cs). When the build is successful it creates a tag. When I use ForceBuild the tag is based on the working copy which would contain the modified version number. I want the tag to contain the appropriate version number. note: It's debatable if I'm creating a branch or a tag, however SVN does not make a distinction between the two.

  • Check if the Form was Shown

    - by serhio
.NET2 I have a panelChild that is on the panelParent that is in the Form1. When panelParent_Resizes panelChild does a panelChild_HeavyOperation. panelParent rezizes multiple times in InitializeComponent of Form1 and consume a lot of time because of panelChild_HeavyOperation. I decided to reduce the panelChild_HeavyOperation only when the Form1 is shown and has a defined size. by eg. like this: Sub panelChild_HeavyOperation If not FindForm().IsShown then Reuturn ' .... ' End Sub The problem is that IsShown does not exist on a Form...

  • Kernel dealing with the section headers in an ELF

    - by uki
I recently read that the kernel and the dynamic loader mostly deal with the program header tables in an ELF file and that assemblers, compilers and linkers deal with the section header tables. The number of program header tables and section header tables are mentioned in the ELF header in fields named e_phnum and e_shnum respectively. e_phnum is two bytes in size, so if the number of program headers is 65535, we use a scheme known as extended numbering where, e_phnum is set to 0xffff and sh_link field of the zeroth section header table holds the actual count. My doubt is : If the count of program headers exceeds 65535, does that mean the kernel and/or the dynamic loader end up having to read the section table?

  • UseConcMarkSweepGC verbose gc output shows memory drops

    - by user1864747
I have an application for which I have enabled GC logging. The heap appears to grow then takes a sudden drop, but does not log a Full GC. If there some startup parameter that I can enable that will show me what GC event is reducing the heap size? My environment: Linux 64-Bit, java 1.6.0_31, Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode) VM args: -server -Xms2560m -Xmx2560m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:-PrintGC -XX: -PrintGCDetails -XX:-PrintGCTimeStamps -Xloggc:/xxxxx/gc.log -Dsun.rmi.dgc.client.gcInterval=86400000 -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=86400000 3057.609: [GC 2397254K->2385777K(2619328K), 0.0572310 secs] 3058.898: [GC 2402801K->2391301K(2619328K), 0.0566620 secs] 3059.940: [GC 2408325K->2397156K(2619328K), 0.0534080 secs] 3059.995: [GC 2397265K(2619328K), 0.0069950 secs] 3065.635: [GC 2414180K->2404934K(2619328K), 0.0732700 secs] 3065.849: [GC 2419994K(2619328K), 0.1150630 secs] 3070.248: [GC 1593931K->1591825K(2619328K), 0.1084230 secs] 3072.440: [GC 1608552K->1606431K(2619328K), 0.0533140 secs] 3087.759: [GC 1623455K->1614544K(2619328K), 0.0215850 secs] What event is causing the heap to shrink between the output at 3065.849 and 3070.248? Is there a VM param that will log it? I tried adding -verbose:gc but that does not change the output.

  • Does MultiThreading in Java takes much time for task completion?

    - by Geeta
I have to search for a string in 10 large size files (in zip format 70 MB) and have to print the lines with the search string to corresponding 10 output files.(i.e. file 1 output should be in output_file1...file2--- output_file2). The same program takes 15 mins for a single file. But if use 10 threads to read 10 files and to write in 10 different files it should complete in 15 mins but its taking 40 mins. How can I solve this. Or multithreading will take this much time only?

  • Appropriate data structure for a buffer of the packets

    - by psihodelia
How to implement a buffer of the packets where each packet is of the form: typedef struct{ int32 IP; //4-byte IP-address int16 ID; //unique sequence id }t_Packet; What should be the most appropriate data structure which: (1) allows to collect at least 8000 such packets (fast Insert and Delete operations) (2) allows very fast filtering using IP address, so that only packets with given IP will be selected (3) allows very fast find operation using ID as a key (4) allows very fast (2), then (3) within filtered results ? RAM size does matter, e.g. no huge lookup table is possible to use.

  • efficient video format/codec for sparse & binary blob tracking

    - by user391339
I am working on a blob tracking project and have many high-definition videos that I would like to reduce in size for storage and downstream tracking/shape-analysis. I want to use a lossless method that takes advantage of the black and white nature of the video as well as the fact that not much is moving between individual frames. The videos are quite sparse, with 5 to 10 b&w blobs per frame occupying <30% of the space in total, with each blob moving <5-10% of the field of view between frames and not changing shape too much between 2-3 frames. I will work in Python, Matlab, or LabView for this project, and could use a batch utility if available. It may be worthwhile to export the files as compressed image stacks if a proper video format can't be found. What are the pros and cons of this? A video codec uses correlations between neighboring frames, so it should be more efficient, but not if the wrong one is chosen or if it is improperly configured.

  • How to efficiently deal with a large amount of HTML5 canvas pixel data over websockets

    - by user730569
Using imageData = context.getImageData(0, 0, width, height); JSON.stringify(imageData.data); I grab the pixel data, convert it to a string, and then send it over the wire via websockets. However, this string can be pretty large, depending on the size of the canvas object. I tried using the compression technique found here: JavaScript implementation of Gzip but socket.io throws the error Websocket message contains invalid character(s). Is there an effective way to compress this data so that it can be sent over websockets?

  • C++ template parameter/class ambiguity

    - by aaa
hello. while testing with different version of g++, the following problem came up template<class bra> struct Transform<bra, void> : kernel::Eri::Transform::bra { static const size_t ni = bra::A::size; bra::A is interpreted as kernel::Eri::Transform::bra::A, rather than template argument by g++ 4.1.2. on the other hand, g++ 4.3 gets it right. what should be correct behavior according to standard? Meanwhile, I refactor slightly to make problem go away.

  • Increasing FD_SETSIZE

    - by user1633717
I need to increase the FD_SETSIZE value from 1024 to 4096. I know it'd be better to use poll()/epoll() but I want to understand what are pros/cons. The main question is: have I to recompile glibc? I read several thread where the change of .h after changing FD_SETSIZE works recompiling only the user application. Reading the glibc code (and the kernel too), actually it seems to me that if I want to use select(), FD_* macro and so on, I have to recompile all because the size of fd_set is changed. At this point I have to recompile all not only my application because if in the system there is an another "common" application that uses select and friends, I could have problem. Am I right?

  • How to hide a scrollbar? (Windows Mobile)

    - by ikky
Hi! I have one panel "imageHolder" I have from 4 to 20 pictureboxes (each pictureBox is 256x256px so they increase the panel's size to more than the cellphone's workarea) I have set the panel's autoscroll = true, so that a V and H scrollbar is shown. Is it possible to make these scrollbars not visible? The reason i want them to be not visible: - I want to be able to use touch to move around in the panel, and thought that i can do this by just increasing/decreasing the scrollbar's position. Is there a way to do this? (I have searched, but can't seem to find anything useful. Looks like the scrollbars are a bit limited) Do you recommend me to do it some other way?

  • best-practice on for loop's condition

    - by guest
what is considered best-practice in this case? for (i=0; i<array.length(); ++i) or for (i=array.length(); i>0; --i) assuming i don't want to iterate from a certain direction, but rather over the bare length of the array. also, i don't plan to alter the array's size in the loop body. so, will the array.length() become constant during compilation? if not, then the second approach should be the one to go for..

  • Why am I getting a segmentation fault with this code?

    - by gooswa
    Trying to make a simple rectangle/bin packer in C. Takes a given area and finds placement for any given size rectangle. About after 4 recursions is when I get the segmentation fault. #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> typedef struct node_type PackNode; struct node_type { int x , y; int width , height; int used; struct node_type *left; struct node_type *right; }; typedef struct point_type PackPoint; struct point_type { int x,y; }; PackNode _clone(PackNode *node) { PackNode clone; clone.used = 0; clone.x = node->x; clone.y = node->y; clone.width = node->width; clone.height= node->height; clone.left = NULL; clone.right= NULL; return clone; } PackNode root; int rcount; PackPoint* recursiveFind(PackNode *node, int w, int h) { PackPoint rp; PackPoint *p = NULL; rcount++; printf ("rcount = %u\n", rcount); //left is not null go to left, if left didn't work try right. if (node->left!=NULL) { //move down to left branch p = recursiveFind(node->left, w, h); if (p!=NULL) { return p; } else { p = recursiveFind(node->right, w, h); return p; } } else { //If used just return null and possible go to the right branch; if (node->used==1 || w > node->width || h > node->height) { return p; } //if current node is exact size and hasn't been used it return the x,y of the mid-point of the rectangle if (w==node->width && h == node->height) { node->used=1; rp.x = node->x+(w/2); rp.y = node->y+(h/2); p = &rp; return p; } //If rectangle wasn't exact fit, create branches from cloning it's parent. PackNode l_clone = _clone(node); PackNode r_clone = _clone(node); node->left = &l_clone; node->right = &r_clone; //adjust branches accordingly, split up the current unused areas if ( (node->width - w) > (node->height - h) ) { node->left->width = w; node->right->x = node->x + w; node->right->width = node->width - w; } else { node->left->height = h; node->right->y = node->y + h; node->right->height = node->height - h; } p = recursiveFind(node->left, w, h); return p; } return p; } int main(void) { root = malloc( root.x=0; root.y=0; root.used=0; root.width=1000; root.height=1000; root.left=NULL; root.right=NULL; int i; PackPoint *pnt; int rw; int rh; for (i=0;i<10;i++) { rw = random()%20+1; rh = random()%20+1; pnt = recursiveFind(&root, rw, rh); printf("pnt.x,y: %d,%d\n",pnt->x,pnt->y); } return 0; }

  • Is it a good practice to pass struct object as parameter to a function in c++?

    - by tsubasa
I tried an example live below: typedef struct point { int x; int y; } point; void cp(point p) { cout<<p.x<<endl; cout<<p.y<<endl; } int main() { point p1; p1.x=1; p1.y=2; cp(p1); } The result thats printed out is: 1 2 which is what I expected. My question is: Does parameter p get the full copy of object p1? If so, I wonder if this is a good practice? (I assumed when the struct gets big in size, this will create a lot of copy overhead).

  • Upload image with Tumblr API in PHP

    - by John
I'm having trouble uploading a photo from my computer to tumblr using their API. http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/api photo - Requires either source or data, but not both. If both are specified, source is used. * source - The URL of the photo to copy. This must be a web-accessible URL, not a local file or intranet location. * data - An image file. See File uploads below. * caption (optional, HTML allowed) * click-through-url (optional) I need to use data File uploads can be done in a data parameter where specified above. You may use either of the common encoding methods: multipart/form-data method, like a file upload box in a web form. Maximum size: o 50 MB for videos o 10 MB for photos o 10 MB for audio I would post my code but it's not showing up correctly for me.

  • How can chunks be allocated in a node.js stream in object mode all at once?

    - by Quentin Engles
I can see how buffers, and strings can be sent as chunks, but I'm having a problem thinking about how streams can be dealt when working in object mode. Say I have a byte stream from an http request message. I want to take that message, parse, and then transform it into one big object. I already know how to parse the message. What I'm wondering is if the message is big so it has many chunks, but I want to make one object for the output how can I make sure the data event waits for the whole thing? Is this just a matter of not using the push method until the chunked data has finished being sent? That would then restrict the stream data output to a smaller object which I think I'm fine with for now. As an added condition the larger data will be reduced in size after the the transform.

  • Why is my condition onsubmit not returning false?

    - by Liso22
    After asking a couple of questions I managed to create this form. I didn't have troubles making it return false if the submitted value was 0 but I cannot make it return false when it's the string 'Cambia de ciudad". I'm sure I'm messing with the quotes or something like that. This is the form: <form role="search" method="get" action="http://chusmix.com/" onsubmit="if (document.getElementById('s')== 'Cambiá de ciudad") return false;'> <input class="ubicacion" name="s" id="s" tabindex="1" onsubmit="if ((document.getElementById('s').value.length < 4) || (document.getElementById('s')== 'Cambiá de ciudad')) return false;" onfocus="if (this.value=='Cambiá de ciudad') this.value = ''" onblur="if(this.value == '') this.value = 'Cambiá de ciudad'" type="text" maxlength="80" size="28" value="Cambiá de ciudad"> <input type="submit" id="searchsubmit" value="Buscar" /> </form> How do I make it work? Thanks

  • C# : Redirect console application output : How to flush the output?

    - by user93422
I am spawning external console application and use async output redirect. as shown in this SO post My problem is it seems that the spawned process needs to produce certain amount of output before I get the OutputDataReceived event notification. I want to receive the OutputDataReceived event as soon as possible. I have a bare-bones redirecting application, and here are some observations: 1. When I call a simple 'while(true) print("X");' console application (C#) I receive output event immediately. 2. When I call a 3d party app I am trying to wrap from the command line I see the line-by-line output. 3. When I call that 3d party app from my bare-bone wrapper (see 1) - the output comes in chunks (about one page size). What happens inside that app? FYI: The app in question is a "USBee DX Data Exctarctor (Async bus) v1.0".
