    Hi, I dynamically load a css stylesheet (with a little help from jQuery) like this: var head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0]; $(document.createElement('link')) .attr({ type: 'text/css', href: '../../mz/mz.css', rel: 'stylesheet' }) .appendTo(head); This works fine in Firefox and Google Chrome, but not in IE.     ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) Debian. mysqld is listening on 3306 supposedly Telnet to 3306 works Also tried binding it specifically yo localhost and then 127.0.0.1 which made no difference However: # netstat -ln | grep mysql unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 78993 /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock # mysql -P3306 -ptest ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) Things I've tried: dpkg-reconfigure mysql-server-5.1 Doesn't help http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/442 Doesn't help This command (source): UPDATE mysql.user SET Password=PASSWORD('MyNewPass') WHERE User='root'; FLUSH PRIVILEGES; Doesn't help, in fact: Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) Rows matched: 0 Changed: 0 Warnings: 0 So might the user be deleted? Extremely unlikely as all this started after packages update a colleague did and some separate services started screwing around but my colleague said he removed the offenders. Theres more: while # mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables is running one can access the data tables, only with the valid passwords! So there's users and some authentication takes place hence the 0 rows affected above. Can the privileges tables be damaged somehow and how can I recreate/restore them when my only way of getting a mysql console is to skip them? Can I spare my reinstall of MySQL? Either way I did get a dump of the DBs now that I could get in with the above mode.

Is there any way to do this, other than copying that part to a separate array, and sending that one. This extra copying degrades performance, and i would like to avoid it, if possible.

  • Using a Level 2 switch as a core switch

    I have a small user base of about 20 people on at a time and spiking up to about 80 people during peak times. Most people (80+%) are connected over our Aruba managed wireless system. We have a Windows Domain. We have 3 24-Port switches all connecting back to a central 48-port switch where additional access ports, firewall, servers, and wireless controller all centrally connect back to. It's a flat network with dumb switches. I'm in the process of upgrading our infrastructure. Cisco pricing for switches is pretty high for us so I've been looking at HP Procurves which seem to be within our budget range. I want to eventually make use of 802.1x, SNMP, QoS for possible VOIP upgrades, VLAN to separate guest VLAN from authenticated users, and other more advanced features. PoE would be nice but that's probably too expensive for us. I was thinking of having our core switch be a Procurve 2610 and the rest of our switches that centrally connect to it be Procurve 2510s. A true and full blown level 3 switch is way out of our price range but a 2610 seems to be good enough for us. The 2610 does static routing which ought to be good enough for us but I'm in unfamiliar territory so I'm looking for any gotchas. Also, should all the switches be 2610s or just the core switch? Do I even need the 2610, can I just go with all 2510s? I'm new to VLANs as well so I'm not sure what it is I need but I would like an affordable infrastructure that won't need replacing 2-3 years down the line because I choose a product that was lacking.

Opening the new browser window from my asp.net page is easy, but then it shares the same cookie and thus session ID with the original. So how can I do this? I need the original browser window to keep its cookies and session and the new browser window to have a new session.

At the moment I've managed to come up with a SQL statement that returns all the commands I need to execute: SELECT 'TRUNCATE TABLE ' || tablename || ';' FROM pg_tables WHERE tableowner='MYUSER'; but I cant see a way to execute them programatically once I have them...     Hi I'm just wondering if anybody else can manage to get the tolerance:'fit' option to work when using the 'droppable' feature in jQuery's UI? I want to call a function only when the draggable div is dropped perfectly onto a droppable div. Both divs are the same size and I'm using snapMode:outer to help the end user. I simply cannot get it to work with 'fit'. Works perfectly with 'intersect'. Would really appreciate some help. Thanks Chris
