  • asp.net MVC: binary deployment of mvc views

    Hi, how can I deploy an mvc application, without publishing the aspx view files. Is there a way to publish the generated dll assemblies? In the project file is an option "MvcBuildViews", which builds these dll files. But they are build in a temp directory and not used in the publishment process. Is there a way to include these files? best regards

    I have many params making up an insert form for example: x.Parameters.AddWithValue("@city", City.Text) I had a failed xss attack on the site this morning, so I am trying to beef up security measures anyway.... Should I be adding my input params like this? x.Parameters.AddWithValue("@city", HttpUtility.HtmlEncode(City.Text)) Is there anything else I should consider to avoid attacks? Thanks

I have a site set up that works great using XFBML but this (obviously) fails when I visit with JavaScript disabled. I have a feeling that this is possible using the REST-api for Facebook but I'd still appreciate some pointers. There was a discussion about this on the Facebook forum.

    Hi all: I want to hide a Sharepoint web that has been deprecated (via custom means) due to the release of a newer version, whether it would be making it invisible in the sites and workspaces, or via some special archiving function provided by Sharepoint. Basically I do not wish the users to be able to see the deprecated site. I was wondering what are the options for doing so, both programmatically or via Sharepoint utils/interfaces? Thanks.

    Hi Can I call function() of my custom Greasemonkey from my page? For example, I created a GM script that contains do_this() function. I want my-web-site.com call the do_this() function. But I can't. I know, I can by doing unsafeWindow.do_this() but doing so prevents me from calling GM_xmlhttpRequest(). Any ideas?

    I attempted to add a ADO.NET Entity Data Model to my Visual Web Developer 2010 Express project and it generates but returns a whole slew of errors. Why is this generating errors? Here are the main errors: 'Public Property ID As Integer' has multiple definitions with identical signatures. Method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' cannot be declared 'Partial' because only one method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' can be marked 'Partial'. '_line1' is already declared as 'Private _line1 As String' in this class.

  • Emulating Amazon SQS during development

    I'm quite interested in beginning some development using Amazon SQS, perhaps SimpleDB too, my question is this, are there any open source solutions that mimic the functionality, just for the purposes of development. I've already encountered the Eucalyptus project (http://open.eucalyptus.com) for creating an EC-esque cloud. I've not had any success with google, I suspect it's because the cost of entry is so inexpensive, but still, does anyone know of anything like this?

What I am looking to do is have clickable links on the pages so that I can jump to a page further in the "book" or even to another site.     I recently created a website and added some jQuery into it. However doing this makes IE8 display a white page. Whenever I remove the Javascript IE8 renders the site fine. I have tested locally as well as on the internet, the problem still persists. Now after looking all around the net, it looks like there are some solutions for each of these, but I can never get them working.   • Web pages show empty band across the top

    In Chrome, site http://www.helpinghandspeople.com has a 16px empty band (background colour shows) across the top of the page. It's not supposed to be there, but I can't figure out how to make it go away. In Firefox, the home page shows fine, but login and a few other pages show a 24px band. Viewing source and running inspect element are not helpful. Does anyone have a suggestion where to look? Thanks Gerry
