  • How to convert an HTML table to an array in python

    - by user345660
I have an html document, and I want to pull the tables out of this document and return them as arrays. I'm picturing 2 functions, one that finds all the html tables in a document, and a second one that turns html tables into 2-dimensional arrays. Something like this: htmltables = get_tables(htmldocument) for table in htmltables: array=make_array(table) There's 2 catches: 1. The number tables varies day to day 2. The tables have all kinds of weird extra formatting, like bold and blink tags, randomly thrown in. Thanks!

  • Running Objects – Associations and Relationships

    - by edurdias
After the introduction to the Running Objects with the tutorial Movie Database in 2 Minutes (available here), I would like to demonstrate how Running Objects interprets the Associations where we will cover: Direct Association – A reference to another complex object. Aggregation – A collection of another complex object. For those coming with a database perspective, by demonstrating these associations we will also exemplify the underline relationships such as 1 to Many and Many to Many relationships...(read more)

  • Unique JQuery Events for a Class

    - by Daniel Macias
I am trying to create a class that can send a unique jQuery event. Example: function Bomb(id) { this.evnt = $.Event("BOOM!_" + id); this.detonate = function() { $(document).trigger(evnt); }; } var firecracker = new Bomb(); var nuclearbomb = new Bomb(); $(document).bind(firecracker.evnt.type, function(){ // It's the fourth of july!!! }); $(document).bind(nuclearbomb.evnt.type, function(){ // We're dead }); firecracker.detonate(); nuclearbomb.detonate(); How can I create a unique event within the Bomb class without having to pass in an ID to create a unique event string for the class?

  • Mac OS X: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.java.browser.plugin2.DOM

    - by Thilo
I am trying to use the new LiveConnect features introduced in Java 6 Update 10. Code looks like this (copied from the applet tutorial): Class<?> c = Class.forName("com.sun.java.browser.plugin2.DOM"); Method m = c.getMethod("getDocument", java.applet.Applet.class); Document document = (Document) m.invoke(null, this); But all I am getting is a ClassNotFoundException for the entry-point class. This on the Mac, 10.6, with both Firefox and Safari. Java Plug-in 1.6.0_22 Using JRE version 1.6.0_22-b04-307-10M3261 Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM Is this not implemented on the Mac? Or do I need to configure something? All I need to do is get and set the value of form elements on the page, so I would be fine with an older (pre-6u10) API if that works better.

  • Code for adding Content Controls Word 2007 C#

    - by AProgrammer
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has any idea how I can add Content Controls to a Word Document (Office 2007) from the Document Task/Action Pane via C#. The goal is the following: I want to have categorized information in the Task/Action Pane and have the user fill out the info there. Once they have filled out that information they'll click on a button and it will insert content Controls into the Word Document that has that Data. The reason I want to use Content Controls is because the data will be bound to a database. Is this possible? I would like links that do this without WordProcessingML or OpenXML. There has to be a way to do this via server side code and such that doesn't require long blocks of ,, etc. Thanks!

  • C# how to wait for a webpage to finish loading before continuing

    - by MD6380
    I'm trying to create a program to clone multiple bugs at a time through the web interface of our defect tracking system. How can I wait before a page is completely loaded before I continue? //This is pseudo code, but this should give you an idea of what I'm trying to do. The //actual code uses multi-threading and all that good stuff :). foreach (string bug in bugs) { webBrowser.Navigate(new Uri(url)); webBrowser.Document.GetElementById("product").SetAttribute("value", product); webBrowser.Document.GetElementById("version").SetAttribute("value", version); webBrowser.Document.GetElementById("commit").InvokeMember("click"); //Need code to wait for page to load before continuing. }

  • 11.2.0.3 Pre-Upgrade Script Now Available!

    - by roy.swonger
It took a little while because of upgrades to My Oracle Support, but the pre-upgrade script for Oracle Database 11.2.0.3 is now available for download. If you want the latest pre-upgrade script for any supported version of the database, simply go to MOS Note 884522.1 and download the script that corresponds to your destination release. This is a lot easier than downloading the entire kit in order to obtain the script!

  • Problems with XAML WPF 4.0 Editor in VS2010

    - by RTPeat
Wondering if anybody else has found some very odd behaviour with the XAML/WPF 4 editor in VS2010. This only occurs if the project is using .NET 4. Whenever I tried to open a XAML document for editing, the window would appear to open for a split second and then vanish, but VS2010 would still list the window as open. The fault was eventually traced to having the "Reuse current document window, if saved" option under "Documents" in the "Environment" options checked. Once this was unchecked XAML 4 files opened as expected. As I said, this only appears to occur on projects targeted at .NET Framework 4 - those targeted at 3.5 worked without a problem, and the "Reuse current document window, if saved" appears to work fine on other files.

  • Using 'git pull' vs 'git checkout -f' for website deployment

    - by Michelle
I've found two common approaches to automatically deploying website updates using a bare remote repo. The first requires that the repo is cloned into the document root of the webserver and in the post-update hook a git pull is used. cd /srv/www/siteA/ || exit unset GIT_DIR git pull hub master The second approach adds a 'detached work tree' to the bare repository. The post-receive hook uses git checkout -f to replicate the repository's HEAD into the work directory which is the webservers document root i.e. GIT_WORK_TREE=/srv/www/siteA/ git checkout -f The first approach has the advantage that changes made in the websites working directory can be committed and pushed back to the bare repo (however files should not be updated on the live server). The second approach has the advantage that the git directory is not within the document root but this is easily solved using htaccess. Is one method objectively better than the other in terms of best practice? What other advantages and disadvantages am I missing?

  • What permissions are required for SET IDENTITY_INSERT ON?

    - by AaronBertrand
SQL Server 2000's SET IDENTITY_INSERT ON topic says: Execute permissions default to the sysadmin fixed server role, and the db_owner and db_ddladmin fixed database roles, and the object owner. While the SET IDENTITY_INSERT topic for SQL Server 2005 (and up) says: User must own the object, or be a member of the sysadmin fixed server role, or the db_owner and db_ddladmin fixed database roles. This was clearly adapted from the 2000 books online and re-written by someone who misinterpreted "db_owner...(read more)

  • c# Regex on XML string handler

    - by Dan Sewell
Hi guys. Trying to fiddle around with regex here, my first attempt. Im trying to extract some figures out of content from an XML tag. The content looks like this: www.blahblah.se/maps.aspx?isAlert=true&lat=51.958855252721&lon=-0.517657021473527 I need to extract the lat and long numerical vales out of each link. They will always be the same amount of characters, and the lon may or may not have a "-" sign. I thought about doing something like this below: (The string in question is in the "link" tag): var document = XDocument.Load(e.Result); if (document.Root == null) return; var events = from ev in document.Descendants("item1") select new { Title = (ev.Element("title").Value), Latitude = Regex.xxxxxxx(ev.Element("link").Value, @"lat=(?<Lat>[+-]?\d*\.\d*)", String.Empty), Longitude = Convert.ToDouble(ev.Element("link").Value), }; foreach (var ev in events) { do stuff } Many thanks!

  • Is it possible to "intercept" a 3rd party library's "WriteFile" operation

    - by stout
This is likely a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm using a document management system's API. They provide a "WriteFile" method to save a given document to disk. However, the library does not have a way to simply read a document into memory. My only option, it seems, is to write to disk, then read it back in again. I'm wondering if there is a better way to work around this obvious limitation. Thanks in advance!

  • Using jQuery to echo text

    - by susmits
Is it possible to use jQuery to echo text in place of a script tag? More precisely, is there a way to accomplish <script type="text/javascript"> document.write("foo"); </script> ... without the use of document.write? I am not happy about using document.write after reading this. I am aware that I could alternatively do this: <span id="container"></span> <script type="text/javascript"> $("#container").text("foo"); </script> However, I'm interested to see if there's a way to do it without using a container element, preferably using jQuery. Thanks in advance!

  • Difference between IN and FIND_IN_SET

    - by Madhan ayyasamy
Hi Friends,You may be confused with IN() and FIND_IN_SET() MYSQL functions. There are specific case/situation for both functions where to use which Mysql function. Look at below explanation about IN() and FIND_IN_SET()IN() : This function is used when you have a list of possible values and a single value in your database.Example: WHERE memberid IN (1,2,3)FIND_IN_SET() : This function is used where you have comma separated list of values stored in database and want to see if a certain value exists in that comma seperated list.Example: WHERE FIND_IN_SET( ‘table column name like id’, 'dynamic idlist' )

  • Why are source control systems still mostly backed with files?

    - by Andy
It seems that more source control systems still use files as the means of storing the version data. Vault and TFS use Sql Server as their data store, which I would think would be better for data consistency as well as speed. So why is it that SVN, I believe GIT, CVS, etc still use the file system as essentially a database, (I ask this question as we had our SVN server just corrupt itself during a normal commit) instead of using actual database software (MSSQL, Oracle, Postgre, etc)?

  • Creating BlackBerry method stubs using wscompile on WSDL from ColdFusion

    - by Jim B
I have been working on a BlackBerry application that consumes web services from ColdFusion 7. The Java ME SDK and the Java Wireless Toolkit both require that the generated WSDL be of the document/literal type. Fortunately, I have input on the web service development so I tried setting 'style="document"' in the cfcomponent tag. This generated a document/literal style WSDL but now wscompile generates the following errors in several places: Found unknown simple type: javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement Found unknown simple type: java.util.Calendar Any ideas why this is happening? The WSDL does get parsed correctly by the JWSDP tool but the stubs use namespaces that are not available in the J2ME platform. I would have thought ColdFusion WSDL would work more easily with other products in the Java family.
