    - by Thomas.Winsnes
    I'm currently working on an assignment and this have had me stuck for hours. Can someone please help me point out why this isn't working for me? struct book { char title[25]; char author[50]; char subject[20]; int callNumber; char publisher[250]; char publishDate[11]; char location[20]; char status[11]; char type[12]; int circulationPeriod; int costOfBook; }; void PrintBookList(struct book **bookList) { int i; for(i = 0; i < sizeof(bookList); i++) { struct book newBook = *bookList[i]; printf("%s;%s;%s;%d;%s;%s;%s;%s;%s;%d;%d\n",newBook.title, newBook.author, newBook.subject, newBook.callNumber,newBook.publisher, newBook.publishDate, newBook.location, newBook.status, newBook.type,newBook.circulationPeriod, newBook.costOfBook); } } void GetBookList(struct book** bookList) { FILE* file = fopen("book.txt", "r"); struct book newBook[1024]; int i = 0; while(fscanf(file, "%s;%s;%s;%d;%s;%s;%s;%s;%s;%d;%d", &newBook[i].title, &newBook[i].author, &newBook[i].subject, &newBook[i].callNumber,&newBook[i].publisher, &newBook[i].publishDate, &newBook[i].location, &newBook[i].status, &newBook[i].type,&newBook[i].circulationPeriod, &newBook[i].costOfBook) != EOF) { bookList[i] = &newBook[i]; i++; } /*while(fscanf(file, "%s;%s;%s;%d;%s;%s;%s;%s;%s;%d;%d", &bookList[i].title, &bookList[i].author, &bookList[i].subject, &bookList[i].callNumber, &bookList[i].publisher, &bookList[i].publishDate, &bookList[i].location, &bookList[i].status, &bookList[i].type, &bookList[i].circulationPeriod, &bookList[i].costOfBook) != EOF) { i++; }*/ PrintBookList(bookList); fclose(file); } int main() { struct book *bookList[1024]; GetBookList(bookList); } I get no errors or warnings on compile it should print the content of the file, just like it is in the file.   • Use PHP to create a DOC file on a Unix Box based on an HTML webform selection

    - by Gerald Oakham
    Hello, I have an HTML file which contains a webform with multiple questions which have a YES / NO responses. If the question has a YES answer, I would like a predefined ( per question ) section of text to be written to a DOC file on the server, but only AFTER the submit button has been pressed ( this way, if the user changes their mind and changes an answer form YES to NO, I won't have to re-write the doc ). When the user has clicked Submit, The file should be presented as a download. Any Ideas

    - by Jeromy Anglim
    How do you sink both the console input and the console output to a text file? • How to modify/replace option set file when building from command line?

    - by Heinrich Ulbricht
    I build packages from a batch file using commands like: msbuild ..\lib\Package.dproj /target:Build /p:config=%1 The packages' settings are dependent on an option set: <Import Project="..\optionsets\COND_Defined.optset" Condition="'$(Base)'!='' And Exists('..\optionsets\COND_Defined.optset')"/> This option set defines a conditional symbol many of my packages depend on. The file looks like this: <Project xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003"> <PropertyGroup> <DCC_Define>CONDITION;$(DCC_Define)</DCC_Define> </PropertyGroup> <ProjectExtensions> <Borland.Personality>Delphi.Personality.12</Borland.Personality> <Borland.ProjectType>OptionSet</Borland.ProjectType> <BorlandProject> <Delphi.Personality/> </BorlandProject> <ProjectFileVersion>12</ProjectFileVersion> </ProjectExtensions> </Project> Now I need two builds: one with the condition defined and one without. My attack vector would be the option set file. I have some ideas on what to do: write a program which modifies the option set file, run this before batch build fiddle with the project files and modify the option set path to contain an environment variable, then have different option sets in different locations But before starting to reinvent the wheel I'd like to ask how you would tackle this task? Maybe there are already means meant to support such a case (like certain command line switches, things I could configure in Delphi or batch file magic).

  • How can I detect when a file download has completed in ASP.NET?

    - by Alexis
    I have a popup window that displays "Please wait while your file is being downloaded". This popup also executes the code below to start the file download. How can I close the popup window once the file download has completed? I need some way to detect that the file download has completed so I can call self.close() to close this popup. System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.ClearContent(); System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.Clear(); System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.ClearHeaders(); System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType = fileObject.ContentType; System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", string.Concat("attachment; filename=", fileObject.FileName)); System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.WriteFile(fileObject.FilePath); Response.Flush(); Response.End();

    - by ncoder
    Is it correct that if we have a BufferedImage object in java, we could potentially write it out in ANY format using ImageIO.write (if we have a Writer object for the same)? I tried writing a BufferedImage object into a jpg file, it outputted an empty image file however when i tried writing it in to a png file, it worked fine.

  • are there any negative implications of sourcing a javascript file that does not actually exist?

    - by dreftymac
    If you do script src="/path/to/nonexistent/file.js" in an HTML file and call that in a browser, and there are no dependencies or resources anywhere else in the HTML file that expect the file or code therein to actually exist, is there anything inherently bad-practice about doing this? Yes, it is an odd question. The rationale is the developer is dealing with a CMS that allows custom (self-contained) javascript files to be provided in certain circumstances. The problem is the CMS is not very flexible when it comes to creating conditional includes for javascript. Therefore it is easier to just make references to the self-contained js files regardless of whether they are actually at the specified path. Since no errors are displayed to the user, should this practice be considered a viable option?

  • How to get list of declared functions with their data from php file?

    - by ermac2014
    I need to get list of functions with their contents (not only the function name) from php file. I tried to use regex but it has lots of limitations. it doesn't parse all types of functions. for example it fails if the function has if and for loop statements. in details: I have around 100 include files. each file has number of declared functions. some files has functions duplicated in other files. so what I want is to get list of all functions from specific file then put this list inside an array then I will be using array unique in order to remove the duplicates. I read about tokenizer but I really have no idea how to make it grab the declared function with its data. all I have is this: function get_defined_functions_in_file($file) { $source = file_get_contents($file); $tokens = token_get_all($source); $functions = array(); $nextStringIsFunc = false; $inClass = false; $bracesCount = 0; foreach($tokens as $token) { switch($token[0]) { case T_CLASS: $inClass = true; break; case T_FUNCTION: if(!$inClass) $nextStringIsFunc = true; break; case T_STRING: if($nextStringIsFunc) { $nextStringIsFunc = false; $functions[] = $token[1]; } break; // Anonymous functions case '(': case ';': $nextStringIsFunc = false; break; // Exclude Classes case '{': if($inClass) $bracesCount++; break; case '}': if($inClass) { $bracesCount--; if($bracesCount === 0) $inClass = false; } break; } } return $functions; } unfortunately, this function lists only the function names.. what I need is to list the whole declared function with its structure.. so any ideas? thanks in advance..

  • What does class_eval <<-"end_eval", __FILE__, __LINE__ mean in Ruby?

    - by viatropos
    I'm learning how to use class_eval in modules (I'm somewhat familiar with class_eval) and came across this helpful class in resource_controller. In there they have things like this: class_eval <<-"end_eval", __FILE__, __LINE__ def #{block_accessor}(*args, &block) unless args.empty? && block.nil? args.push block if block_given? @#{block_accessor} = [args].flatten end @#{block_accessor} end end_eval What does __FILE__ and __LINE__ do in that context? I know __FILE__ references the current file, but what does that whole thing do exactly? Don't really know how to search for that :).

  • Access 2007 file picker, replaces all rows with the same choice.

    - by SqlStruggle
    This code is from an Access 2007 project I've been struggling with. The actual mean part is the part where I should put something like "update only current form" DoCmd.RunSQL "Update Korut Set [PikkuKuva]=('" & varFile & "') ;" Could someone please help me with this?` If I use it now, it updates all the tables with the same file picked. Heres the whole code. ' This requires a reference to the Microsoft Office 11.0 Object Library. Dim fDialog As Office.FileDialog Dim varFile As Variant Dim filePath As String ' Set up the File dialog box. Set fDialog = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker) With fDialog ' Allow the user to make multiple selections in the dialog box. .AllowMultiSelect = False ' Set the title of the dialog box. .Title = "Valitse Tiedosto" ' Clear out the current filters, and then add your own. .Filters.Clear .Filters.Add "All Files", "*.*" ' user picked at least one file. If the .Show method returns ' False, the user clicked Cancel. If .Show = True Then ' Loop through each file that is selected and then add it to the list box. For Each varFile In .SelectedItems DoCmd.SetWarnings True DoCmd.RunSQL "Update Korut Set [PikkuKuva]=('" & varFile & "') ;" Next Else MsgBox "You clicked Cancel in the file dialog box." End If End With

  • Why would fopen fail to open a file that exists?

    - by void
    I'm on Windows XP using Visual Studio 6 (yes I know it's old) building/maintaining a C++ DLL. I'm encountered a problem with fopen failing to open an existing file, it always returns NULL. I've tried: Checking errno and _doserrno by setting both to zero and then checking them again, both remain zero, and thus GetLastError() reports no errors. I know fopen isn't required to set errno when it encounters an error according to a C standard. Hardcoding the file path, which are not relative. Tried on another developers machine which the same result. The really strange thing is CreateFile works and the file can be read with ReadFile. We believe this works in a release build, however we are also seeing some very odd behaviour in other areas of the application and we're not sure if this is related. The code is below, I don't see anything odd it looks quite standard to me. The source file hasn't changed for just under half a year. HRESULT CDataHandler::LoadFile( CStdString szFilePath ) { //Code FILE* pFile; if ( NULL == ( pFile = fopen( szFilePath.c_str(), "rb") ) ) { return S_FALSE; } //More code }

  • Vimrc: how to reuse code and definitions for differnt file types?

    - by sixtyfootersdude
    I have defined my own file types using vim. For example I have: .classNotes .reportJotNotes .homework These file types are defined in .vim files: ~/.vim/syntax/homework.vim ~/.vim/syntax/reportJotNotes.vim ~/.vim/syntax/homework.vim Many of these things have several of the same code in them. Ie they all have this for titles: syn region JakeTitle start=+=== + end=+===+ oneline highlight JakeTitle ctermbg=black ctermfg=Yellow syn region JakeMasterTitle start=+==== + end=+====+ oneline highlight JakeMasterTitle cterm=bold term=bold ctermbg=black ctermfg=LightBlue Instead of having this in all three .vim files I would rather have it in one file and then in each file could source it. How can I do this?

    - by Foolish
    when we open a file from "Package Explorer" in eclipse, after we use it, it will leave in the tabs. If we open a file from "Search" result, then after we search another keyword, it will disappear, we need to see the search result to find out that. Is there any solution that I can leave the opened tab in the tabs after I opened from Search panel ?

  • Can I send a file to Flex using RubyAMF?

    - by Tam
    I'm generating a PNG file in Flex from graphics drawn by user. I would like to send the file to Ruby on Rails backend and I'm using RubyAMF in other parts of the application. I found ways to upload the file using FileReference which uses HTTP but I prefer to send using RubyAMF ,if possible, as it's more efficient. If this is possible what is your suggested method?

  • Can Log4net have multiple appenders write to the same file?

    - by adam0101
    I'm using a RollingFileAppender to log some info to a file with a conversionPattern (in the web.config) that looks like this for the header of each log section: <conversionPattern value="%date - %property{userId} - %property{method}%newline--------------------------------%newline%message%newline%newline"/> I'd like to log details under this header as bullet points. I'm currently trying to use another RollingFileAppender that logs to the same file with a simple conversionPattern of just a dash, like this: <conversionPattern value="- %message%newline"/> But these messages aren't making it into the log file. I'm using Log.Info() for the header and Log.Debug() for the bullet points and filtering each appender on their respective log levels. Is what I'm trying to do possible? Or is there a better way to get header and detail information into a log file from log4net?
