    I've just begun to use the Terminal in Mac OS X and I've found the man command very useful, although very often the explanations are too compact or complicated for me. I am looking for a very basic reference guide – like O'Reilly makes, for example. But in there I didn't find an entry for basic commands like ls or ln and a layman's explanation of all the flags and options. Could anybody recommend me something?

  • Recompile PHP5.3 with mysqlnd on Debian Squeeze?

    My current PHP5.3 installation was compiled with libmysql by default. To run certain mysqli functions, I need the mysqlnd library, but I can't seem to find a step by step guide giving proper description how to recompile PHP 5.3 on Debian 6 with custom settings. All I found was the configuration parameter on the PHP.net manual (http://php.net/manual/en/mysqlinfo.library.choosing.php) saying that this is a compile time decision: $ ./configure --with-mysqli=mysqlnd --with-pdo-mysql=mysqlnd --with-mysql=mysqlnd Any ideas how to do it?     Hello, As a paper saving drive throughout the organization, we plan to set 2 page printing as default setting on all the windows machines. I would like to contribute to this by writing a small script that can do that for all the machines, maybe send an email to all the users, and let them run the batch file. I used mklink /J D:\Users B:\Users (D was the C: drives name in recovery) but when I come to boot, all I get is that the profile can't be loaded. I have to accomplish this, and don't really mind reinstalling as its a fresh install anyway.

The Lab Manager User's Guide isn't very useful here: Archive a Workspace Configuration to the Library You can preserve the exact state of a configuration in the configuration library. Archived configurations are read-only, but you can clone, export, and delete them. Sounds like what Capture to Workspace does.

    We're using ImageX to deploy Windows 7 Professional. We've gotten the Windows partition to work, but the recovery partition (100-200MB at the front of the drive in a standard install) isn't as simple. Here's a Technet guide I found: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744280%28WS.10%29.aspx That looks like it could work, but would take alot of time if we need to do that for every single machine we deploy. Is there a faster/automated way?

    Trying to iterate through AmazonS3 that has around 5000+ keys stored in the bucket, used sample code based on provided link on Amazon Developer Guide http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/ListingObjectKeysUsingNetSDK.html Issue is iteration fails when NexMarker is passed which has length of more than 128 string characters, which seems unusal as withMarker accepts string as parameter and there is no documentation on limit to withMarker. request.Marker = response.NextMarker; Has anyone faced similar issue.     Usually when I setup a new Ubuntu VM, i keep the eth0 in NAT mode to get the internet & I add a eth1 interface in HostOnly mode so that I can ssh. But using this devStack guide : Running a Cloud in a VM, it looks like it tried to use eth0 as the public interface (install got stuck because eth0 lost the network). I know an OpenStack setup usually requires two NICs, so I'm wondering what is the correct configuration for my VM.
