  • How can I force a Mac OS X kext to load prior to login?

    I have a kext that I would like to be loaded at startup time. It doesn't need to be loaded particularly early in the process, but I would like it to be loaded before a user logs in. The kext in question is InsomniaT, and, unlike a device driver, there is nothing that is automatically going to request that it be loaded into the kernel, so just putting it in /System/Library/Extensions won't do anything. What's the best way to do this?

    I can make a single SSL certificate for several different domain names: www1.example.com www2.example.com www3.example.com But *.example.com doesn't work. How can I make a single SSL certificate for all sub domains within .example.com? P.S. Here is the extension part of the generated certificate: X509v3 extensions: X509v3 Basic Constraints: CA:FALSE X509v3 Key Usage: Digital Signature, Non Repudiation, Key Encipherment X509v3 Subject Alternative Name: DNS:*.example.com It's simply not matched by any sub-domain under example.com by the browser.

    I have a server with centos 6.3 and cPanel After the upgrade from php 5.3.16 to php 5.3.19 my site stopped working. When I try to execute an index.php manually I'm receiving the following error. php: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/memcached.so: undefined symbol: memcached_last_error_errno Reinstalled memcached and memcache via pecl and manually but not helped. What is causing this problem and how to fix it ?

    I have an asp.net based website running on IIS 6 that needs to incorporate a java application running on the same server on a different port. The requests will be coming in via https and I need to invisibly (preserving the https session) proxy domain.com/ over to domain.com:8080/. Does IIS have a built-in mechanism for doing this?     I am responsible for demonstrating changes to our software every two weeks. Since the software has both telnet and web interfaces, I think it would help the demo go more smoothly if I could embed a web browser and a telnet client or shell directly into presentation slides, like this: My current idea is to write extensions for LibreOffice to do it, but obviously I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I can help it. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this? I prefer PowerPoint 2007 or LibreOffice on Windows 7, but am open to suggestions for any software or OS.

    Iam running Linux Mint on my laptop and i have some (serious) problems with Google Chrome.Randomly Chrome becomes totally unresponsive and iam not able to do anything,except restart the system from the power button.I think it's not an issue with system load and/or RAM,because if i for example open lot of "heavy" programs everything seems to work quite fine.When i only run Chrome with not many tabs at random times it freezes the whole system.The weird thing is that Chrome is not heavily loaded with tabs or extensions.I can't figure out what is causing this problem.Any suggestion?Thank you in advance.

    I have an issue with IIS7 url rewrite module, when I add following rule I get an 404 error on all pages. <rule name="Remove .aspx" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="(.+)\.aspx" /> <action type="Redirect" redirectType="Permanent" url="{R:1}" /> All I want to do to remove all files extensions.     This silly design of the status bar popping up and disappearing is really bothering me. I used to have a few good extensions on my status bar in Firefox (Pagerank, AdBlock, etc) and now they all have to be placed in strange locations on the toolbars near the top without easily displaying any relevant information. Is there a way I can get the status bar back and use it similarly to FF?

    I need to download a bunch of files from a website but I don't want to have to click on each file to add it to downloadall or whatever. The structure of the website is as follows: http://something.com/katalog/?get=Exclusive/group1/2012.09.03/ The directory has loads of randomly named files with .doc extensions. I can't use the batch feature because the files don't start or end with the same characters e.g. 001...100. Any ideas/

    Im trying to obtain a list of users with their login time (n times if they have logged in more than once) in a particular timespan, for example between 2pm and 3pm on 10/10/2012. I've been fiddling around with powershell, but couldn't get much out of it, downloaded the PowerShell extensions from Quest, tried out some snippets, but I couldn't find something that fits my needs. My guess is to query the events on the Active Directory server but haven't been able to get a snippet that works so far.

    CMD + Z in Safari (6.0.1) will re-open the last closed tab. Is there any way to re-open multiple previously closed tabs (as in, say, Chrome)? A closely related question from 2011: Are there any extensions or tricks to reopen several closed tabs in Safari Update Safari is now at 6.0.2: having the ability to re-open multiple closed tabs would still very much improve usability (i.e. not having to go searching the History). Is the answer still "impossible"?

Meanwhile I can't translate the whole website because google translator says "Sorry, we are unable to translate the page you requested." I can use firebug to explore html, copy the text to google translator and do translation. Wondering if there is such add-on for firefox to translate text from "non selectable" HTML elements. Thx

  • Any tool available to make renaming in Windows XP more like Mac OS X?

    I've noticed 1 cool thing and OS X. When you rename a file, it automatically selects everything up until the extension. For example, attempting to rename this.is.a.file.png would preselect this.is.a.file allowing you to quickly rename it whilst preserving the extension. I know I could turn off 'show extensions for known file types', but I like to have them visible. Is there any software that can do this? Thanks
