  • Git versus Mercurial for .NET developers?

    - by jwanagel
I've been wondering what is the better DVCS for .NET developers? From reading various information it has sounded like Mercurial works better on Windows, but other information claims that Git has caught up and surpassed Mercurial in offering quality Windows and Visual Studio tools. Does anyone have good recent information or experience with trying both in a .NET development environment?

  • Silverlight and MV(VM) Pattern - No Code-Behind - Is this possible?

    - by user118190
I am working on Silverlight 3.0 and currently using code-behind in my Views. I would like to implement the MV(VM) pattern into my project as the project is growing. I have seen some WPF projects where the code-behind has NO CODE except for the InitializeComponent method, which I believe is the right way to go and just looks clean. Is this possible in Silverlight 3.0, that is, no code-behind? Can anyone point me to some good Silverlight (3.0) MV(VM) tutorials / articles?

  • Possible ways of representing data in memory (.net)

    - by This is it
Hi What are the possible ways of representing data in memory in .Net (or in general)? It would be great if data could be sorted and looked up by key (or multiple keys). We are thinking to use collections, arrays, list of collections/arrays. One object would be in several collections (one sorted asc, other desc, etc.). Maybe this is not a good idea, and we would like to hear some other possible solutions. Thank you

  • strstr and occurrences to match

    - by Mike
    I have several possible occurrences to test with strstr. if ((a = strstr(string, "FOO")) != NULL || (a = strstr(string, "BAR")) != NULL || (a = strstr(string, "FOO2")) != NULL ||(a = strstr(string, "BAR2")) != NULL || (a = strstr(string, "FOO3")) != NULL ||(a = strstr(string, "BAR3")) != NULL) // do something and then based on the occurrence found I need to do var = strlen("THE_ONE_MATCHED_ABOVE"); What would be a good way to do this without using lots of if statements?

  • How to check restricted access pages for broken links?

    - by kumarsfriends
Hi All, I was googling for tools for checking broken links in a remote web page. The w3c validator seemed a good one. But I am still unsure as how to check for pages which are restricted, i.e. the pages which I can only access by logging in to the site. Can we do that using the w3c validator? If not than is there any other tool for the same?

  • Rails - how to serialize a tree not in a form

    - by tiny_clanger
I started with the standard scriptaculous drag and drop tree, and that all works fine. Then started implementing this: http://www.artweb-design.de/2008/5/30/scriptaculous-sortabletree which gives a good drag and drop tree Where I am stuck is how to get serialize the tree (unordered list)? It's not in a form, and I can't find a way to serialize it to move onto setting up the AJAX update.

  • Any GUI libaray for iPhone & Andriod based on OpenGL ES?

    - by Jeff
Since both iPhone and Android support OpenGL ES, is there any open source or commercial GUI library we can use for these two platforms? Or is it doable (or how difficult) to port an application from one to another platform? As I know, for iPhone only, libNUI (http://www.libnui.net) is a good choice (dynamic layout & mature), but it only provides GPL & commercial license. Any other open source tool similar with libNUI?
