Is there any FTP client that support transfer files with multi-session? By which I mean, multi-session for single file, and also keep a session for browsing ftp sites. Thanks
I am using squid proxy 3.1 in ubuntu machine. I want to allow only urls matching our pattern through our proxy server. I configured acl like below. Acl for dstdomain is working fine. If i access any url besides .zmedia.com , I got proxy connection refused. But the url_regex is not working.
What i am trying here is.
Allow only request from ".zmedia.com" domain and the request url should be in "/blog" context.

Please correct me , If i did anything wrong?
Amazon AWS sent me an email about warning that my instance have been behaving like Phising that is against AWS Customer Agreement.
And they noticed that they blocked port 80 and 443 which are for HTTP and HTTPS respectively.
Google SafeBrowsing also reported that some code injection was made to one of my websites. After a cleaning, Google stopped blocking my website displaying in the search result.
So, how can I unblock my ports?
I am currently setting up a domain name on windows server 2008r2 iis7
In the local hosts file I have mapped Domain.com and www.Domain.com to the localhost
The iis7 website has the bindings for Domain.com and www.Domain.com
However, from the internet the website only loads up when browsing to www.Domain.com
Is there something I am missing to make it work on Domain.com
I have a 256 kbit/s Internet connection. Most often, I find that the browsing speed is too slow. I have to use TCPView (SysInternals) to find out which program is accessing the Internet without my knowledge and terminate it. Previously I was using ZoneAlarm to control Internet access by installed programs. But as it doesn't work for Windows 7, I'm left with no option.
Is there any other tool which serves the purpose?
I've been trying a ff plugin called Stylish, which overrides css in websites. The only problem is there is no way to toggle back to standard view. Because i work as a web designer/developer i need an extension for either chrome or ff that can do this and then i'll use that for my primary 'browsing' browser
any tips would be greatly appreciated!
ps. I've also tried changing colors in firefoxsettingscontentcolors but again there is no quick toggle
I have a REALLY old (about 8-10 years) laptop that barely runs which I would like to put to use. I really only need it for web browsing. I want to put a very minimal OS on it, I was thinking Linux is the way to go. What is the lightest weight linux distro? The smallest I have come across so far is xPud.
Is there a tool/service that would allow 2 developers to browse the web on separate machines and have dev 1 control dev 2s session and the opposite, without the need for a hardcore remote access like terminal services.
Im thinking etherpad for web browsing
I have this strange problem when browsing Google Groups. The sidebar, the one displaying the various menu options, like Home, Discussions, Pages, is rendered on the left side of the page on top of the group discussions space.
Below is a snapshot taken from FireFox (version 3.5.2). I have experienced the same problems with other browsers several times as well, but FireFox is my main browser and it is really broken there.
I have the same problem described here:

Basically, the prefpane windows for my tethered iphone's network interfaces (bluetooth & USB) looks like the image link in the post above, and is missing the normal options for network interfaces:

I would like to use the polipo caching proxy for tethered browsing, and am unable to enter proxy settings.
I am currently working abroad and use my company's VPN for FTP and some browsing. This is a relatively slow connection and while it is suitable for those VPN necessities; much of my other internet usage can be done without the VPN at a much higher speed.
Is there a way to tell Safari and my FTP software to use the VPN and for all other connections to go directly to the internet.
I am currently using OSX's Network Prefs for running my VPN connection.

Imagine this: no matter which software, when I hit "SAVE", the file explorer dialog that appears is listing my files in reverse-alpha order. This happens by default on all folders and is just an annoyance because on each folder i have to set the view pane to Details then re-sort in alpha order.
Browsing through my PC just using explorer works fine, this happens only on SAVE or OPEN dialog boxes (regardless of the software).
Any trick to reset this to alpha order globally? thanks!
I've noticed that when browsing an archive containing multiple files with 7-zip 9.20 Windows GUI, extracting one file for previewing takes significantly longer with .7z than .rar archives. With .7zips it also cycles through the filenames in the archive. To me it looks like decompressing the entire archive and keeping just one file.
Is there a setting in 7-zip (current or beta/alpha versions) that allows RAR-like behavior?
Which would have better overall performance on a cheap (~$600) laptop; Intel Atom 330 with Nvidia ion or intel Pentium/Celeron with Intel graphics. I don't need 8 hour battery life and will hopefully be using this for programming/web browsing and occasionally light gaming.
How can I have multiple independent instances of Mozilla Firefox 3.5 on the same X server, but started from different user accounts (consequently, different profiles)?
Limited success was only with Xephyr :1, DISPLAY=:1 /usr/local/bin/firefox, but Xephyr has no Cygwin/X's "rootless" mode so it's not comfortable.
The idea is to have one Firefox instance for various "Serious Business" things and the other for regular browsing with dozens of add-ons securely isolated.
Does anyone know of a program/script that runs on Linux that can give us a nice GUI for browsing and managing shared system folders similar in the way that windows explorer would work?
So would allow, upload, download, file modification etc. It's a way to still have access to all our files stored on the system from any location with internet access.
Thanks in advance
Hi all,
Is there a good way to get gVim working as an IDE replacement? I'm moreso looking for suggestions for Intellisense-type plugins...code completion...maybe easy directory browsing (other than the standard 'edit.' command).
I'm building embedded applications in C...so I have no need to incorporate any debugging elements, and for the build process I can just have a console window open to call my batch file whenever it is required (or if I could call it through some hotkey combination in gVIM...that would be awesome as well).

hi all,
i'm looking for a good software for managing audio samples (.wav)
it should be capable of:
quickly browsing through directory/file-structure (eg. cursorkeys) + autoplay
waveform-vizualisation + possibility to set cursor position (for playing)
possibility to create own favourite-folder-structure + quickly sort in by sample-type
any recommendations?
thanks
We have a server that has an open remote desktop port to the internet (no VPN.) Several people are allowed to log on to the machine remotely. The server runs Windows 7 (desktop OS.)
I can find logon times using Event Viewer, but it does not show the IP address of the remote machine. At any rate, manually browsing Event Viewer for all login events would be time consuming, to say the least.)
Is a way to find out which IP addresses are using Remote Dekstop ?
I am running into a problem with IIS 7. I have require SSL enabled, but when I enter the non secure URL I get a timeout rather than the 403.4 error. I have the bindings set and browsing to the secure URL works fine.
Any help is appreciated.
So, when I'm browsing in firefox, some letters look grainy or glowing, does anyone know what might be causing this? It doesn't show on all website, only some. It almost looks like Firefox is trying to render different font colours on top of eachother and blends them in the process somehow.
Using Firefox 3.6.13 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits and the problems also arrise when running Firefox in safe mode.

I often use tortoisesvn to checkout or update a working copy on a development server. Whenever I do this, it seems to slow down the network and other users complain that browsing websites and accessing files on the dev server is slow.
Is this a common bug in Subversion or has anyone else has come across similar problems?
In windows 7, I have a wifi network that shows up with a warning icon overlay and the "No internet access" description as shown in this image:
The other network shown there is a VirtualBox VM, and is expected to show that way.
Plainly, this notice is wrong as I have been browsing with that connection all afternoon and used it to post this question.
So my question is, what makes this message come up, and how can I make it go away?
