i'm playing around with c# reflection api. i can easily load type info of classes, methods etc. in an assembly.
now i wonder how can i load and read the code inside a method?
I'm trying to write a parser that will read a particular file type, and I need to map the different data types to C# equivalents. Most of them aren't that difficult, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around what "int16 with a bias of 14" means. I've deduced that it's some kind of floating point type, so my best bet would be to write a converter that would map it to a float, double, or decimal type. I'm not sure where to take it from here, though.
Say I only need to find out whether a line read from a file contains a word from a finite set of words.
One way of doing this is to use a regex like this:
.*\y(good|better|best)\y.*
Another way of accomplishing this is using a pseudo code like this:
if ( (readLine.find("good") != string::npos) ||
(readLine.find("better") != string::npos) ||
(readLine.find("best") != string::npos) )
{
// line contains a word from a finite set of words.
}
Which way will have better performance? (i.e. speed and CPU utilization)
I have read articles about the differences between SOAP and REST as a web service communication protocol, but I think that the biggest advantage for REST over SOAP are :
REST is more dynamic, no need for creating and updating UDDI.
REST is not restricted to XML format. REST web services can send
plain text, JSON, and also XML.
But SOAP is more standardized (Ex; security).
So, am I correct in these points?
Thanks
I have a partial view that I use for editing and creating my models. When a user is editing the model, I would like a particular drop-down to be rendered as text as I don't want them to change it. A read-only drop-down would suffice, but I'd prefer text.
I'm thinking I can accomplish this via an extension method, but I'm not quite sure how to get started. Any help would be appreciated!
I need to have a buffered char stream, into which I write in one thread and from which I read in another thread. Right now I'm using PipedReader and PipedWriter for it, but those classes cause a performance problem: PipedReader does a wait(1000) when its internal buffer is empty, which causes my application to lag visibly.
Would there be some library which does the same thing as PipedReader/PipedWriter, but with better performance? Or will I have to implement my own wheels?
Hi,

I'm trying to change the value of an entity in a document's DocumentType.Entities XmlNamedNodeMap but according to MSDN, it's read-only.
How can I set one of the entities?
What I have is a C# windows app that reads a bunch of SQL tables and creates a bunch of queries based on the results. What I'm having a small issue with is the final "," on my query
This is what I have
ColumnX,
from
I need to read the entire file, write out exactly what is in the file and just replace the last , before the from with nothing.
I tried .replace(@",\n\nfrom),(@"\n\nfrom) but it's not finding it. Any help is appreciated.
Example:
ColumnX,
from
Result:
ColumnX

That's the rough of it. I'm using this piece of PHP (excerpt):
$xml = simple_xml_load_file($xmlFile);
$xml->xpath($pattern);
Now I want to get all ITEM-nodes (with their children) based on that pesky "domain" attribute in the category node, but no matter what I try it does-not-work.
The closest I got was "//category[@domain= 'http://www.somelink.com/?category=4']"
The expression I tried gave me this result:
[0] => SimpleXMLElement Object
(
[@attributes] => Array
(
[domain] => http://www.somelink.com/?category=4
)
[0] => Category 1
[1] => SimpleXMLElement Object
(
[@attributes] => Array
(
[domain] => http://www.somelink.com/?category=4
)
[0] => Category 1
The expression should contain all childrens of the two items in the example, but as you can see only the info in the category node is present, I want all the item nodes.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Hello,
I need to redirect myhomepage.com/ to myhomepage.com/sub/
When I read the guide at apache.org/docs/1.3/misc/rewriteguide.html I have no clue what they are talking about. Hence I decided to friendly ask one of the experts here. I guess it takes just some seconds to figure that rule out.
Thanks, Carin.
I am trying to code a game following instructions contained in an OU TMA document which read:
In the constructor, write code to assign a new instance of Random to ran which you should create using the Random class's zero argument constructor
Will this code work?
Random ran = new Random(0) ;
I am a relative newbie to Java, and I don't understand exactly what the instructions mean
I have read about the Tuples provided with the coming-out of the new .NET Framework features, and still am I wondering about how it could be useful in real-world enterprise applications.
Can one give me a brief explanation along with a simple but real-world code sample?
Thanks! =)
It seems that on most articles I read, CRUD is to be avoided in DDD as we are dealing with modeling business process and not data. However, I find it hard to see not to have CRUD operations on certain entities. For example, in a school grading system, before teachers can grade students, a SchoolYear has to be present or perhaps a GradingPeriod. I can't see how we can manage GradingPeriods without CRUD. Could someone enlighten me on this?
Hi there,
I want to read a file as fast as possible (40k lines), and I was wondering if I could just launch one thread per line, using boost::threads on boost::iostreams memory-mapped files. Or if it was just wasting my time because it's just impossible for two threads to access the same file at the same time.
Thanks aforehand.
Sincerely,

I'm using Masonry and Embedly plugin to display embedded content, I've put together an example in
jsfiddle.net/anir/pBtbb/3/
It appears the Masonry plugin loads first and it causes the overlapping problem (they only show correctly when you resize the result window) I've read that I could use callback functions or retrigger Masonry once embedly has finished rendering content, but I don't know how to do it. Can you help me? Is there any other solution to fix this?
Currently im just using something like:
in the DB Table:
access: home,register,login
and then in each page:
if(!Functions::has_rights('content'))
{
Functions::noAccess();
}
is there more efficient way to do it, php & MySQL? i may want to gain access even to several parts a page, for example: user can read a page, but doesnt comment to it, and I dont want to build a separate system to each module.
Thanks in advanced, Tal.
Hi, I'm trying to learn java from bottom up, and I got this great book to read http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/0071591060/ca0cc-20 . Now I found example in the book about declaring Enums inside a class but outside any methods so I gave it a shot :
Enum CoffeeSize { BIG, HUGE, OVERWHELMING };
In the book its spelled enum and I get this compile message Syntax error, insert ";" to complete BlockStatements
Are the Enums that important at all?I mean should I skip it or its possible that I will be using those some day?
I have seen this sample written in Ruby code, how i can simulate it in C language?
Open3.popen3(command) do |stdin, stdout, stderr|
@stop_stdin = stdin
while !stdout.eof do
output = stdout.read(1024 * 100)
list_pipes.each do |out|
out.print output
end
end
end
I am able to create, write and read an SQLite Database in my Android App. I have a copy of the Database that is fully populated with data, and I want to get that data into the App's Database. Is it possible to access my pouplaed database from inside my App? Or can I at least create a copy of the populated database and then use that copy? Or do I need to do a .dump and put all the inserts into the Android code?
I need write a live messenger plugin which periodically read messages from a remote http server, and then change my signature(the short message after my name) accordingly.
Can anyone point me to any open source project or materials where I can get started?
Thanks.
How does PHP read if statements?
I have the following if statements in this order
if ( $number_of_figures_in_email < 6) {
-- cut: gives false
}
if($number_of_emails > 0) {
-- cut: gives false
}
if ( $number_of_emails == 0) {
-- cut: gives true
}
The code behaves randomly. It sometimes goes to the third if clause and gives me a success, while sometimes to the one of the first two if clauses when the input variables are constant.
This suggests me that I cannot code only with if statements.
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a way to read in c++ a text file containing numpy arrays and put the data into vector , can anyone help me out please ?
Thanks a lot.

Hiya.
I'm using std::getline to read lines from a file,
how can I move forward a few lines? do I have to use getline the number of lines I want to skip?
thanks!
