  • Deploying application with ClickOnce to network share while being offsite

    - by MadBoy
I have application written in Visual Studio 2008 which I deploy with ClickOnce to network share while at work. Sometimes I work from home and I don't have VPN that allows access of shares to deploy application from outside of company. Is there a way that I could simple pack it, send thru FTP and unpack it on the server so that ClickOnce never notices it's been delivered differently and so it doesn't loose numeration and everything associated with normal network deployment? It's C#, .NET 3.5 application.

  • Timestamp problem showing 1970 instead of 1988

    - by gmuhammad
Hi, I am trying to set default value in DateField using the following statement DateField dateField = new DateField("Birthday:", 567993600, DateField.DATE | DateField.FIELD_LEFT); but when I run my application it shows me 7 Jan 1970 instead of 1 Jan 1988. I checked the time stamp on http://www.onlineconversion.com/unix_time.htm and it shows me correct expected date which is, "Fri, 01 Jan 1988 00:00:00 GMT" I am using 8900 simulator and my date time is correct showing today's date 31 Dec 2010 in date time under options folder. Regards, -gmuhammad

  • Favorite Visual Studio keyboard remappings?

    - by hoytster
Stack Overflow has covered favorite short-cuts and add-ins, optimizations and preferences -- great topics all. If this one has been covered, I can't find it -- so thanks in advance for the link. What are your favorite Visual Studio keyboard remappings? Mine are motivated by the fact that I'm a touch-typist. Mouse, function keys, arrow keys, Home, End -- bleh. These are commands I do all day every day, so I've remapped them to sequences I can execute without moving my hands from the home row. The command that is remapped in Tools = Customize = [Keyboard] is shown in parentheses. I'm 100% positive that there are better remappings than these, so please post yours! Please include the command; oft times, figuring it out is a challenge. -- Hoytster Running the app and operating the debugger Ctrl+Q + Ctrl+R Run the application, in debug mode (Debug.Start) Ctrl+Q + Ctrl+Q Quit (stop) the application (Debug.StopDebugging) Ctrl+T Toggle a breakpoint at the current line (Debug.ToggleBreakpoint) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+I Step Into the method (Debug.StepInto) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+O Step Out of the method (Debug.StepOut) Ctrl+N Step over the method to the Next statement (Debug.StepOver) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+C Run the code, stopping at the Cursor position (Debug.RunToCursor) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+E Set then next statement to Execute (Debug.SetNextStatement) Navigating the code Ctrl+S Move a character LEFT (Edit.CharLeft) Ctrl+D Move a character RIGHT (Edit.CharRight) Ctrl+Q + Ctrl+S Move to the LEFT END of the current line (Edit.LineStart) Ctrl+Q + Ctrl+D Move to the RIGHT END of the current line (Edit.LineEnd) Ctrl+E Move a line UP (Edit.LineUp) Ctrl+X Move a line DOWN (Edit.LineDown) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+K Toggle (add or remove) bookmark (Edit.ToggleBookmark) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+N Move to the NEXT bookmark (Edit.NextBookmark) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+P Move to the PREVIOUS bookmark (Edit.PreviousBookmark) Ctrl+Q + Ctrl+W Save all modified Windows (File.SaveAll) Ctrl+L Find the NEXT instance of the search string (Edit.FindNext) Ctrl+K + Ctrl+L Find the PREVIOUS instance of the search string (Edit.FindPrevious) Ctrl+Q + Ctrl+L Drop down the list of open files (Window.ShowEzMDIFileList) The last sequence is like clicking the downward-facing triangle in the upper-right corner of the code editor window. • Installer Creators? What do you recommend?

    - by bobber205
Can't find a generic topic about this but what do you guys recommend for an application that creates a simple installer? Just need something that places it into an appropriate folder in Program Files, adds shortcuts to the StartMenu. My professor recommend Superpimp but that seems like overkill. :P Thanks SO!

  • Web pages show empty band across the top

    - by Gerry
In Chrome, site http://www.helpinghandspeople.com has a 16px empty band (background colour shows) across the top of the page. It's not supposed to be there, but I can't figure out how to make it go away. In Firefox, the home page shows fine, but login and a few other pages show a 24px band. Viewing source and running inspect element are not helpful. Does anyone have a suggestion where to look? Thanks Gerry

  • Programatically Gathering NUnit results

    - by skb
Hi. I am running some NUnit tests automatically when my nightly build completes. I have a console application which detects the new build, and then copies the built MSI's to a local folder, and deploys all of my components to a test server. After that, I have a bunch of tests in NUnit dll's that I run by executing "nunit-console.exe" using Process/ProcessStartInfo. My question is, how can programatically I get the numbers for Total Success/Failed tests?

I want to be able to work on my projects at work but I am unable to install any unauthorized software on my computer. I downloaded SharpDevelop 4 and changed it so I can run it from my USB drive. SharpDelvelop will open Visual Studio projects but are there any issues I should be aware of?

  • Why is my file being cleared if I don't save it?

    - by Kat
    My program is suppose to maintain a collection of Photos in a PhotoAlbum. It begins by reading a folder of photos and adds them to my PhotoAlbum. It then prints a menu that allows the user to list all the photos, add a photo, find a photo, save, and quit the program. Right now if I run my program it will add the 100 photos to the PhotoAlbum, but if I quit the program without saving, it clears the file I am reading from even if I haven't added a photo or done anything to the PhotoAlbum and I'm not sure why. Here is my method for printing to a file: private static void saveFile(PrintWriter writer) { String result; ArrayList<Photo> temp = album.getPhotoAlbum(); for (int i = 0; i < temp.size(); i++){ result = temp.get(i).toString() + "\n"; writer.println(result); } writer.close(); } And where the PrintWriter is instantiated: File file = new File(args[0] + File.separator + "album.dat"); try { PrintWriter fout = new PrintWriter(new FileWriter(file)); fileWriter = fout; } catch (IOException e){ System.out.println("ReadFromFile: Folder " + args[0] + " is not found."); System.exit(0); } And where it is called in my runMenu Method: private static void runMainMenu(Scanner scan) { String input; do { showMainMenu(); input = scan.nextLine().toLowerCase(); switch (input.charAt(0)) { case 'p': System.out.println(album.toString()); break; case 'a': album.addPhoto(readPhoto(scan, t)); break; case 'f': findMenu(scan); break; case 's': saveFile(fileWriter); System.exit(0); break; case 'q': break; default: System.out.println("Invalid entry: " + input.charAt(0)); break; } } while (!input.equalsIgnoreCase("q")); }
